Neither shall they
defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their
detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have
sinned, and will
cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their
God.
They will no longer
defile themselves with their idols or
detestable images, or with any of their transgressions. I will save them from all their
apostasies by which they
sinned, and I will
cleanse them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their
God.
My tabernacle also shall be with them:
yea, I will be their
God, and they shall be my people.
My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be My people.
And say, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Behold I am against thee, O
Gog, the chief prince of
Meshech and
Tubal:
and declare that this is what the Lord
GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O
Gog, chief prince of
Meshech and
Tubal.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
This is what the Lord
GOD says: On that day, thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will
devise an evil plan.
Therefore, son of man,
prophesy and say unto
Gog, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?
Therefore
prophesy, son of man, and tell
Gog that this is what the Lord
GOD says: On that day when My people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not take notice of this?
Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which
prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
This is what the Lord
GOD says: Are you the one of whom I have spoken in former days through My servants, the prophets of Israel, who in those times
prophesied for years that I would bring you against them?
And it shall come to pass at the same time when
Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord
GOD, that my
fury shall come up in my face.
Now on that day when
Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord
GOD, My wrath will
flare up.
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
And I will
summon a sword against
Gog on all My mountains, declares the Lord
GOD, and every man’s sword will be against his brother.
Therefore, thou son of man,
prophesy against
Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O
Gog, the chief prince of
Meshech and
Tubal:
“As for you, O son of man,
prophesy against
Gog and declare that this is what the Lord
GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O
Gog, chief prince of
Meshech and
Tubal.
Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD.
Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord
GOD; this is the day
whereof I have spoken.
Yes, it is coming, and it will surely happen, declares the Lord
GOD. This is the day of which I have spoken.
So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall
spoil those that
spoiled them, and
rob those that
robbed them, saith the Lord
GOD.
They will not gather wood from the
countryside or cut it from the forests, for they will use the weapons for fuel. They will
loot those who
looted them and
plunder those who
plundered them, declares the Lord
GOD.
Yea, all the people of the land shall
bury them; and it shall be to them a
renown the day that I shall be
glorified, saith the Lord
GOD.
All the people of the land will
bury them, and it will bring them
renown on the day I display My glory, declares the Lord
GOD.
And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord
GOD; Speak unto every
feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field,
Assemble yourselves, and come; gather
yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
And as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord
GOD says: Call out to every kind of bird and to every beast of the field: ‘
Assemble and come together from all around to the
sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood.
Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and
chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord
GOD.
And at My table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, of mighty men and warriors of every kind,’ declares the Lord GOD.
So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
From that day forward the house of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God.
Therefore thus saith the Lord
GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be
jealous for my holy name;
Therefore this is what the Lord
GOD says: Now I will restore Jacob from captivity and will have
compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be
jealous for My holy name.
Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Then they will know that I am the LORD their God, when I regather them to their own land, not leaving any of them behind after their exile among the nations.
Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
And I will no longer hide My face from them, for I will pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”
In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.
In visions of God He took me to the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain, on whose southern slope was a structure that resembled a city.
And, behold, the glory of the
God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth
shined with his glory.
and I saw the glory of the
God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the
roar of many waters, and the earth
shone with His glory.
And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord
GOD; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings
thereon, and to
sprinkle blood
thereon.
Then He said to me: “Son of man, this is what the Lord
GOD says: ‘These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is constructed, so that burnt offerings may be sacrificed on it and blood may be
sprinkled on it:
And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of
Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord
GOD, a young
bullock for a sin offering.
You are to give a young bull from the
herd as a sin offering to the
Levitical priests who are of the family of
Zadok, who approach Me to minister before Me, declares the Lord
GOD.
And when these days are
expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord
GOD.
At the end of these days, from the eighth day on, the priests are to present your burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar. Then I will accept you, declares the Lord GOD.’”
Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.
And the LORD said to me, “This gate is to remain shut. It shall not be opened, and no man shall enter through it, because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it. Therefore it will remain shut.
And thou shalt say to the
rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations,
Tell the
rebellious house of Israel that this is what the Lord
GOD says: ‘I have had enough of all your abominations, O house of Israel.
Thus saith the Lord
GOD; No stranger,
uncircumcised in heart, nor
uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.
This is what the Lord
GOD says: No foreigner
uncircumcised in heart and flesh may enter My sanctuary—not even a foreigner who lives among the Israelites.
Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity.
Because they ministered before their idols and became a
stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel, therefore I
swore with an
uplifted hand concerning them that they would bear the consequences of their iniquity, declares the Lord
GOD.
But the priests the Levites, the sons of
Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went
astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord
GOD:
But the
Levitical priests, who are descended from
Zadok and who kept charge of My sanctuary when the Israelites went
astray from Me, are to approach Me to minister before Me. They will stand before Me to offer Me fat and blood, declares the Lord
GOD.
And in the day that he goeth into the sanctuary, unto the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering, saith the Lord GOD.
And on the day he goes into the sanctuary, into the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he must present his sin offering, declares the Lord GOD.
Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and
spoil, and
execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord
GOD.
For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Enough, O princes of Israel! Cease your violence and oppression, and do what is just and right. Stop dispossessing My people, declares the Lord GOD.’
And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make
reconciliation for them, saith the Lord
GOD.
And one sheep shall be given from each flock of two hundred from the well-watered pastures of Israel. These are for the grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings, to make
atonement for the people, declares the Lord
GOD.
Thus saith the Lord
GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young
bullock without
blemish, and
cleanse the sanctuary:
This is what the Lord
GOD says: ‘On the first day of the first month you are to take a young bull without
blemish and
purify the sanctuary.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
“This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘The gate of the inner court that faces east must be kept shut during the six days of work, but on the Sabbath day and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, the inheritance thereof shall be his sons’; it shall be their possession by inheritance.
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘If the prince gives a gift to any of his sons as an inheritance, it will belong to his descendants. It will become their property by inheritance.
Thus saith the Lord
GOD; This shall be the border, whereby ye shall
inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions.
This is what the Lord GOD says: “These are the boundaries by which you are to divide the land as an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel; Joseph shall receive two portions.
And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger sojourneth, there shall ye give him his inheritance, saith the Lord GOD.
In whatever tribe a foreigner dwells, you are to
assign his inheritance there,” declares the Lord
GOD.
This is the land which ye shall divide by lot unto the tribes of Israel for inheritance, and these are their portions, saith the Lord GOD.
This is the land you are to
allot as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel, and these will be their portions,” declares the Lord
GOD.
And the Lord gave
Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of
God: which he carried into the land of
Shinar to the house of his
god; and he brought the vessels into the
treasure house of his
god.
And the Lord delivered into his hand
Jehoiakim king of Judah, along with some of the articles from the house of
God. He carried these off to the land of
Shinar, to the house of his
god, where he put them in the treasury of his
god.
Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
Now
God had granted Daniel favor and
compassion from the chief official,
As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding in every kind of literature and wisdom. And Daniel had insight into all kinds of visions and dreams.
And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can
shew it before the king, except the
gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
What the king requests is so difficult that no one can tell it to him except the gods, whose dwelling is not with mortals.”
That they would desire
mercies of the
God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
urging them to
plead for mercy from the
God of heaven concerning this
mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be killed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
During the night, the
mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision, and he blessed the
God of heaven
Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
and declared: “Blessed be the name of
God forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him.
I
thank thee, and praise thee, O thou
God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.
To You, O
God of my fathers, I give
thanks and praise, because You have given me wisdom and power. And now You have made known to me what we have requested, for You have made known to us the dream of the king.”
But there is a
God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king
Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
But there is a
God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King
Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the latter days. Your dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay on your bed were these:
Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
You, O king, are the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given sovereignty, power, strength, and glory.
And in the days of these kings shall the
God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and
consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
In the days of those kings, the
God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will
shatter all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself stand
forever.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it
brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great
God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it
shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold, so the great
God has told the king what will happen in the future. The dream is true, and its interpretation is
trustworthy.”
The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your
God is a
God of
gods, and a Lord of kings, and a
revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldst
reveal this secret.
The king said to Daniel, “Your
God is truly the
God of
gods and Lord of kings, the
Revealer of Mysteries, since you were able to
reveal this
mystery.”
There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon,
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy
gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
But there are some Jews you have appointed to
manage the province of Babylon—
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego—who have
ignored you, O king, and have refused to serve your
gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”
Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, do not ye serve my
gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
and
Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, is it true that you do not serve my
gods or worship the golden statue I have set up?
Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and
dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace; and who is that
God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
Now, if you are ready, as soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the statue I have made. But if you refuse to worship, you will be thrown at once into the
blazing fiery furnace. Then what
god will be able to deliver you from my hands?”
If it be so, our
God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning
fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
If the
God whom we serve exists, then He is able to deliver us from the
blazing fiery furnace and from your hand, O king.
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”
He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no
hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of
God.
“Look!” he
exclaimed. “I see four men, unbound and
unharmed, walking around in the fire—and the fourth looks like a son of the
gods!”
Then
Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning
fiery furnace, and spake, and said,
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high
God, come forth, and come
hither. Then
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
Then
Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the
God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any
god, except their own
God.
Nebuchadnezzar declared, “Blessed be the
God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him. They
violated the king’s command and risked their lives rather than serve or worship any
god except their own
God.
Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing
amiss against the
God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a
dunghill: because there is no other
God that can deliver after this sort.
Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything offensive against the
God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego will be cut into pieces and their houses reduced to
rubble. For there is no other
god who can deliver in this way.”
I thought it good to
shew the signs and wonders that the high
God hath wrought toward me.
I am pleased to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me.
But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,
But at last, into my presence came Daniel (whose name is Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods). And I told him the dream:
O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
“O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy
gods is in you and that no
mystery baffles you. So explain to me the visions I saw in my dream, and their interpretation.
This dream I king
Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof,
forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy
gods is in thee.
This is the dream that I, King
Nebuchadnezzar, saw. Now, Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because none of the wise men of my kingdom can
interpret it for me. But you are able, because the spirit of the holy
gods is in you.”
Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of
God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines,
drank in them.
Thus they brought in the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple, the house of
God in Jerusalem, and the king
drank from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
They
drank wine, and praised the
gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
As they
drank the wine, they praised their
gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.
There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy
gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the
gods, was found in him; whom the king
Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy
gods in him. In the days of your father he was found to have insight, intelligence, and wisdom like that of the
gods. Your father, King
Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers, and diviners. Your own father, the king,
I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.
I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that you have insight, intelligence, and extraordinary wisdom.
O thou king, the most high
God gave
Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
As for you, O king, the Most High
God gave your father
Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness, glory and honor.
And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild
asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the
dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high
God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it
whomsoever he will.
He was driven away from mankind, and his mind was like that of a beast. He lived with the wild
donkeys and
ate grass like an ox, and his body was
drenched with the
dew of heaven until he acknowledged that the Most High
God rules over the kingdom of mankind, setting over it whom He wishes.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the
gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the
God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your
gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the
God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
And this is the interpretation of the message: MENE means that God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
Finally these men said, “We will never find any charge against this Daniel, unless we find something against him concerning the law of his God.”
All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that
whosoever shall ask a petition of any
God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
All the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers, and governors have agreed that the king should establish an
ordinance and
enforce a decree that for thirty days
anyone who petitions any
god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions.
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he
kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave
thanks before his
God, as he did
aforetime.
Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave
thanks to his
God, just as he had done before.
Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making
supplication before his
God.
Then these men went as a group and found Daniel petitioning and
imploring his
God.
Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
So they approached the king and asked about his royal decree: “Did you not sign a decree that for thirty days any man who petitions any
god or man except you, O king, will be thrown into the den of lions?” The king replied, “According to the law of the Medes and Persians the order stands, and it cannot be
repealed.”
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!”
And when he came to the den, he
cried with a
lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living
God, is thy
God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
When he reached the den, he
cried out in a voice of
anguish, “O Daniel, servant of the living
God, has your
God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
My
God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions mouths, that they have not
hurt me:
forasmuch as before him
innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no
hurt.
My
God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions. They have not
hurt me, for I was found innocent in His sight, and I have done no wrong against you, O king.”
Then was the king exceeding
glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of
hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his
God.
The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den, and when Daniel was lifted out of the den, no wounds
whatsoever were found on him, because he had trusted in his
God.
I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men
tremble and fear before the
God of Daniel: for he is the living
God, and
stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.
I
hereby decree that in every part of my kingdom, men are to
tremble in fear before the
God of Daniel: For He is the living
God, and He endures
forever; His kingdom will never be destroyed, and His dominion will never end.
And I set my face unto the Lord
God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and
sackcloth, and ashes:
So I turned my attention to the Lord
God to seek Him by prayer and petition, with fasting,
sackcloth, and ashes.
And I prayed unto the LORD my
God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and
dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
And I prayed to the LORD my
God and
confessed, “O, Lord, the great and
awesome God, who keeps His covenant of loving devotion to those who love Him and keep His commandments,
To the Lord our
God belong
mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God to walk in His laws, which He set before us through His servants the prophets.
Yea, all Israel have
transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the
curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of
God, because we have
sinned against him.
All Israel has
transgressed Your law and turned away, refusing to obey Your voice; so the oath and the
curse written in the Law of Moses the servant of
God has been poured out on us, because we have
sinned against You.
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our
God, that we might turn from our
iniquities, and understand thy truth.
Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this
disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our
God by turning from our
iniquities and giving attention to Your truth.
Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
Therefore the LORD has kept the
calamity in store and brought it upon us. For the LORD our
God is righteous in all He does; yet we have not obeyed His voice.
And now, O Lord our
God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast
gotten thee
renown, as at this day; we have
sinned, we have done wickedly.
Now, O Lord our
God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and who made for
Yourself a name
renowned to this day, we have
sinned; we have acted wickedly.
Now therefore, O our
God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to
shine upon thy sanctuary that is
desolate, for the Lord’s sake.
So now, our
God, hear the prayers and petitions of Your servant. For Your sake, O Lord, cause Your face to
shine upon Your
desolate sanctuary.
O my
God,
incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great
mercies.
Incline Your ear, O my
God, and hear; open Your eyes and see the
desolation of the city that bears Your name. For we are not presenting our petitions before You because of our righteous acts, but because of Your great
compassion.
O Lord, hear; O Lord,
forgive; O Lord,
hearken and do;
defer not, for thine own sake, O my
God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
O Lord,
listen! O Lord,
forgive! O Lord, hear and act! For Your sake, O my
God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people bear Your name.”
And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and
confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my
supplication before the LORD my
God for the holy mountain of my
God;
While I was speaking, praying,
confessing my sin and that of my people Israel, and presenting my petition before the LORD my
God concerning His holy mountain—
Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou
didst set thine heart to understand, and to
chasten thyself before thy
God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
“Do not be afraid, Daniel,” he said, “for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble
yourself before your
God, your words were heard, and I have come in
response to them.
And shall also carry
captives into Egypt their
gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.
He will take even their
gods captive to Egypt, with their metal images and their precious vessels of silver and gold. For some years he will stay away from the king of the North,
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by
flatteries: but the people that do know their
God shall be strong, and do exploits.
With
flattery he will corrupt those who
violate the covenant, but the people who know their
God will firmly resist him.
And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall
exalt himself, and
magnify himself above every
god, and shall speak marvellous things against the
God of
gods, and shall
prosper till the
indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Then the king will do as he pleases and will
exalt and
magnify himself above every
god, and he will speak
monstrous things against the
God of
gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been decreed must be accomplished.
Neither shall he regard the
God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any
god: for he shall
magnify himself above all.
He will show no regard for the
gods of his fathers, nor for the one desired by women, nor for any other
god, because he will
magnify himself above them all.
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
And in their place, he will honor a god of fortresses—a god his fathers did not know—with gold, silver, precious stones, and riches.
