And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:
This was the half portion for those who had gone to war:
And of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided from the men that

Certain men, the children of
Belial, are
gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;

astray, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods” (which you have not known),
And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
and going to worship other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven—which I have forbidden—

gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a

vowed to the LORD your God with your own mouth.

repent himself for his servants, when he

gone and no one remains, slave or free.

For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:

When ye have
transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have
gone and served other gods, and bowed
yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be
kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.

gone before you?” So

spy out the country of Laish, and said unto their brethren, Do ye know that there is in these houses an
ephod, and
teraphim, and a
graven image, and a
molten image? now therefore consider what ye have to do.
Then the five men who had
gone to
spy out the land of Laish said to their brothers, “Did you know that one of these houses has an
ephod, household gods, a
graven image, and a
molten idol? Now think about what you should do.”
And the five men that went to
spy out the land went up, and came in thither, and took the
graven image, and the
ephod, and the
teraphim, and the
molten image: and the priest stood in the entering of the gate with the six hundred men that were appointed with weapons of war.

gone, the servant said to his master, “Please, let us stop at this Jebusite city and
spend the night here.”
(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
(Meanwhile the Benjamites heard that the Israelites had
gone up to
Mizpah.) And the Israelites asked, “Tell us, how did this wicked thing happen?”
Would ye
tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands?
nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is
gone out against me.

lad was
gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they
kissed one another, and

gone, David got up from the south side of the stone, fell facedown, and bowed three times. Then he and
Jonathan kissed each other and
wept together—though David

trapped himself by entering a town with gates and bars.”
Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that

gone, because he had not eaten anything all that day and night.
Then answered all the wicked men and men of
Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the
spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.
but all the wicked and worthless men among those who had
gone with David said, “Because they did not go with us, we will not share with them the
plunder we recovered, except for each man’s wife and children. They may take them and go.”
Joab also and
Abishai pursued after
Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lieth before Giah by the way of the wilderness of
Gibeon.
But
Joab and
Abishai pursued
Abner. By
sunset, they had
gone as far as the hill of Ammah opposite Giah on the way to the wilderness of
Gibeon.
And
Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had
gone up every one from following his brother.
“As surely as God lives,”
Joab replied, “if you had not spoken up, the troops would have continued pursuing their brothers until morning.”
And Saul had a
concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and

Ish-bosheth questioned
Abner, “Why did you sleep with my father’s
concubine?”

Joab came from pursuing a
troop, and brought in a great
spoil with them: but
Abner was not with David in
Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was
gone in peace.
Just then David’s soldiers and
Joab returned from a

plunder. But
Abner was not with David in
Hebron because David had sent him on his way in peace.
When
Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told

gone in peace.

Joab and all his troops arrived, he was informed, “
Abner son of
Ner came to see the king, who sent him on his way in peace.”
Then
Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold,
Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite
gone?
So
Joab went to the king and said, “What have you done? Look,
Abner came to you. Why did you dismiss him? Now he is getting away!

whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

bottle of wine.
When David had

loaves of bread, a hundred clusters of
raisins, a hundred summer fruits, and a skin of wine.
And when
Absalom’s servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is
Ahimaaz and

gone over the

When
Absalom’s servants came to the woman at the house, they asked, “Where are
Ahimaaz and
Jonathan?” “They have crossed over the
brook,” she replied. The men searched but did not find them, so they returned to Jerusalem.
And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus hath
Ahithophel counselled against you.
After the men had
