Know that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;
this is what the LORD says about the king who sits on David’s throne and all the people who remain in this city, your brothers who did not go with you into exile—
Behold, the
whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with
fury, a continuing
whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.
Behold, the storm of the LORD has
gone out with
fury, a
whirlwind swirling down upon the heads of the wicked.
And
Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which are
gone up from you.
And I will deliver
Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials into the hands of their enemies who seek their lives, to the army of the king of Babylon that had withdrawn from you.
Then
Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.
So King
Zedekiah gave orders for Jeremiah to be placed in the
courtyard of the guard and given a
loaf of bread daily from the street of the bakers, until all the bread in the city was
gone. So Jeremiah remained in the
courtyard of the guard.
Now while he was not yet
gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go
wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him
victuals and a reward, and let him go.
But before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan added, “Return to Gedaliah son of
Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people, or go
anywhere else that seems right.” Then the captain of the guard gave him a
ration and a gift and released him.
In that ye
provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt,
whither ye be
gone to dwell, that ye might cut
yourselves off, and that ye might be a
curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
Why are you
provoking Me to anger by the work of your hands by burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, where you have
gone to reside? As a result, you will be cut off and will become an object of
cursing and reproach among all the nations of the earth.
So that none of the
remnant of Judah, which are
gone into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.
so that none of the
remnant of Judah who have
gone to reside in Egypt will escape or
survive to return to the land of Judah, where they long to return and live; for none will return except a few fugitives.”
Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the
remnant of Judah, that are
gone into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
Those who escape the sword will return from Egypt to Judah, few in number, and the whole
remnant of Judah who went to dwell in the land of Egypt will know whose word will stand, Mine or theirs!
Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his
lees, and hath not been
emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he
gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his
scent is not changed.
Moab has been at ease from youth, settled like wine on its
dregs; he has not been poured from vessel to vessel or
gone into exile. So his
flavor has remained the same, and his
aroma is unchanged.
Moab is
spoiled, and
gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are
gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
Moab has been destroyed and its towns have been invaded; the best of its young men have gone down in the slaughter, declares the King, whose name is the LORD of Hosts.
O vine of Sibmah, I will
weep for thee with the
weeping of Jazer: thy plants are
gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the
spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy
vintage.
I will
weep for you, O vine of Sibmah, more than I
weep for Jazer. Your tendrils have extended to the sea; they reach even to Jazer. The destroyer has descended on your summer fruit and
grape harvest.
They that fled stood under the shadow of
Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of
Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall
devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the
tumultuous ones.
“Those who
flee will stand helpless in
Heshbon’s shadow, because fire has
gone forth from
Heshbon and a flame from within Sihon. It devours the foreheads of Moab and the skulls of the sons of
tumult.
Woe to you, O Moab! The people of
Chemosh have perished; for your sons have been taken into exile and your daughters have
gone into captivity.
My people hath been lost sheep: their
shepherds have caused them to go
astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have
gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
My people are lost sheep; their
shepherds have led them
astray, causing them to
roam the mountains. They have
wandered from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.
Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth
drunken: the nations have
drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are
mad.
Babylon was a gold cup in the hand of the LORD, making the whole earth
drunk. The nations
drank her wine; therefore the nations have
gone mad.
Judah is
gone into captivity because of
affliction, and because of great
servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
Judah has
gone into exile under
affliction and harsh slavery; she dwells among the nations but finds no place to rest. All her pursuers have overtaken her in the midst of her distress.
Her
adversaries are the chief, her enemies
prosper; for the LORD hath
afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are
gone into captivity before the enemy.
Her foes have become her masters; her enemies are at ease. For the LORD has brought her grief because of her many transgressions. Her children have
gone away as
captives before the enemy.
And from the daughter of
Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are
gone without strength before the pursuer.
All the
splendor has departed from the Daughter of
Zion. Her princes are like deer that find no pasture; they lack the strength to
flee in the face of the hunter.
The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
The LORD is righteous, for I have rebelled against His command.
Listen, all you people; look upon my suffering. My young men and maidens have
gone into captivity.
Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is
gone forth; the rod hath
blossomed, pride hath
budded.
And the glory of the God of Israel was
gone up from the
cherub,
whereupon he was, to the
threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s
inkhorn by his side;
Then the glory of the God of Israel rose from above the
cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the
threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing
kit at his side.
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.
Therefore declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries to which they have gone.’
Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into
Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
And the Spirit lifted me up and carried me back to
Chaldea, to the exiles in the vision given by the Spirit of God. After the vision had
gone up from me,
Ye have not
gone up into the gaps, neither made up the
hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.
You did not go up to the gaps or restore the wall around the house of Israel so that it would stand in the battle on the Day of the LORD.
Thus will I
accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have
daubed it with untempered
morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that
daubed it;
And after I have
vented My wrath against the wall and against those who
whitewashed it, I will say to you: ‘The wall is
gone, and so are those who
whitewashed it—
And fire is
gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath
devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a
sceptre to rule. This is a
lamentation, and shall be for a
lamentation.
Fire has
gone out from its main branch and
devoured its fruit; on it no strong branch remains fit for a ruler’s
scepter.’ This is a
lament and shall be used as a
lament.”
I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast
gone a
whoring after the heathen, and because thou art
polluted with their idols.
Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD;
Woe to the
bloody city, to the pot whose
scum is therein, and whose
scum is not
gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall up on it.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘
Woe to the city of
bloodshed, to the pot now
rusted, whose
rust will not come off! Empty it piece by piece; cast no lots for its contents.
In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy
merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.
Now you are
shattered by the seas in the depths of the waters; your
merchandise and the people among you have
gone down with you.
And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.
Foreigners, the most
ruthless of the nations, cut it down and left it. Its branches have fallen on the mountains and in every valley; its boughs lay broken in all the earth’s ravines. And all the peoples of the earth left its shade and abandoned it.
The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of
hell with them that help him: they are
gone down, they lie
uncircumcised, slain by the sword.
Mighty chiefs will speak from the midst of
Sheol about Egypt and her allies: ‘They have come down and lie with the
uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword.’
There is
Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are
gone down
uncircumcised into the
nether parts of the earth, which caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.
Elam is there with all her multitudes around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword— those who went down
uncircumcised to the earth below, who once spread their terror in the land of the living. They bear their disgrace with those who descend to the Pit.
And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the
uncircumcised, which are
gone down to
hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their
iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
They do not lie down with the fallen warriors of old, who went down to
Sheol with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads, whose shields rested on their bones, although the terror of the mighty was once in the land of the living.
There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, which are
gone down with the slain; with their terror they are
ashamed of their might; and they lie
uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit.
All the leaders of the north and all the Sidonians are there; they went down in disgrace with the slain,
despite the terror of their might. They lie
uncircumcised with those slain by the sword and bear their shame with those who descend to the Pit.
And when they entered unto the heathen,
whither they went, they
profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are
gone forth out of his land.
And wherever they went among the nations, they
profaned My holy name, because it was said of them, ‘These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave His land.’
But I had
pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had
profaned among the heathen,
whither they went.
But I had
concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had
profaned among the nations to which they had
gone.
And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen,
whither they be
gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the Israelites out of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them from all around and bring them into their own land.
And the Levites that are
gone away far from me, when Israel went
astray, which went
astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity.
Surely the Levites who
wandered away from Me when Israel went
astray, and who
wandered away from Me after their idols, will bear the consequences of their iniquity.
The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is
gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a
dunghill.
The king replied to the astrologers, “My word is final: If you do not tell me the dream and its interpretation, you will be cut into pieces and your houses will be reduced to
rubble.
The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
The king replied, “I know for sure that you are
stalling for time, because you see that my word is final.
Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was
gone forth to
slay the wise men of Babylon:
When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had
gone out to
execute the wise men of Babylon, Daniel replied with
discretion and
tact.
Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am
gone forth, lo, the prince of
Grecia shall come.
“Do you know why I have come to you?” he said. “I must return at once to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I have gone forth, behold, the prince of Greece will come.
My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to
err, and they have
gone a
whoring from under their God.
My people
consult their wooden idols, and their divining rods inform them. For a spirit of
prostitution leads them
astray and they have played the
harlot against their God.
Their drink is
sour: they have committed
whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
For they are
gone up to Assyria, a wild
ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath
hired lovers.
For they have
gone up to Assyria like a wild
donkey on its own. Ephraim has
hired lovers.
Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast
gone a
whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every
cornfloor.
For, lo, they are
gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up,
Memphis shall
bury them: the pleasant places for their silver,
nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
For even if they
flee destruction, Egypt will gather them and
Memphis will
bury them. Their precious silver will be taken over by thistles, and thorns will overrun their tents.
Saying, When will the new moon be
gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the
ephah small, and the
shekel great, and
falsifying the balances by
deceit?
asking, “When will the New Moon be over, that we may sell grain? When will the Sabbath end, that we may market wheat? Let us reduce the
ephah and increase the
shekel; let us
cheat with
dishonest scales.
Then the mariners were afraid, and
cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to
lighten it of them. But
Jonah was
gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast
asleep.
The sailors were afraid, and each
cried out to his own god. And they threw the ship’s
cargo into the sea to
lighten the load. But
Jonah had
gone down to the lowest part of the vessel, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.
Make thee
bald, and
poll thee for thy delicate children;
enlarge thy
baldness as the eagle; for they are
gone into captivity from thee.
The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate, and go out by it. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD as their leader.
Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.
Then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will please the LORD, as in days of old and years gone by.
Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
Yet from the days of your fathers, you have turned away from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of Hosts. “But you ask, ‘How can we return?’

flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
When the
Magi had
gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and
flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”
But when they
persecute you in this city,
flee ye into another: for
verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have
gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
When they
persecute you in one town,
flee to the next. Truly I tell you, you will not reach all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

arid places seeking rest and does not find it.

When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be
gone astray,
doth he not leave the
ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is
gone astray?
What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes
astray, will he not leave the
ninety-nine on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?
And the
foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are
gone out.
The

And when he was
gone out into the
porch, another

Nazareth.”
And when he had
gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship

mending their nets.

And she went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the
demon was
gone.
And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
After Jesus had gone into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
And when he was
gone forth into the way, there came one running, and
kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may
inherit eternal life?
As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and
knelt before Him. “Good Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to
inherit eternal life?”
And it came to pass, as the angels were
gone away from them into heaven, the
shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto
Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
When the angels had left them and
gone into heaven, the
shepherds said to one another, “Let us go to
Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

And certain women, which had been
healed of evil spirits and
infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
as well as some women who had been
healed of evil spirits and
infirmities: Mary called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had
gone out,
And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said,
Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
“What is your name?” Jesus asked. “
Legion,” he replied, because many demons had
gone into him.
And Jesus said,
Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is

But Jesus declared, “Someone touched Me, for I know that power has gone out from Me.”
And he was casting out a devil, and it was
dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was
gone out, the
dumb spake; and the people wondered.
One day Jesus was driving out a
demon that was
mute. And when the
demon was
gone, the man who had been
mute spoke. The crowds were
amazed,
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through
arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’
And I say unto you, Make to
yourselves friends of the
mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into
everlasting habitations.
I tell you, use worldly wealth to make friends for
yourselves, so that when it is
gone, they will
welcome you into eternal dwellings.
And when they saw it, they all
murmured, saying, That he was
gone to be
guest with a man that is a

gone there as well.

gone out to them.
The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one
whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were
gone away alone;
The next day, the crowd that had remained on the other side of the sea realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not boarded it with His disciples, but they had gone away alone.

gone after him.

Pharisees said to one another, “You can see that this is doing you no good. Look how the whole world has
gone after Him!”

gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man
glorified, and God is
glorified in him.
