For this shall the earth
mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not
repent, neither will I turn back from it.
Therefore the earth will
mourn and the heavens above will
grow dark. I have spoken, I have
planned, and I will not relent or turn back.”
They are
waxen fat, they
shine:
yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they
prosper; and the right of the
needy do they not judge.
They have
grown fat and
sleek, and have
excelled in the deeds of the wicked. They have not taken up the cause of the fatherless, that they might
prosper; nor have they defended the rights of the
needy.
Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at
noon.
Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
‘Prepare for battle against her; rise up, let us attack at
noon.
Woe to us, for the
daylight is
fading; the evening shadows
grow long.
Thou hast planted them,
yea, they have taken root: they
grow,
yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their
reins.
You planted them, and they have taken root. They have grown and produced fruit. You are ever on their lips, but far from their hearts.
She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been
ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
The mother of seven will
grow faint; she will
breathe her last breath. Her sun will set while it is still day; she will be disgraced and
humiliated. And the rest I will put to the sword in the presence of their enemies,” declares the LORD.
In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to
grow up unto David; and he shall
execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

sprout for David a righteous Branch, and He will
administer justice and righteousness in the land.

roar together like lions: they shall
yell as lions’ whelps.
They will
roar together like young lions; they will
growl like lion cubs.
And lest your heart
faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.
Do not let your heart
grow faint, and do not be afraid when the
rumor is heard in the land; for a
rumor will come one year— and then another the next year— of violence in the land and of ruler against ruler.
And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be
weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.
Then you are to say, ‘In the same way Babylon will sink and never rise again, because of the
disaster I will bring upon her. And her people will
grow weary.’” Here end the words of Jeremiah.
For this our heart is
faint; for these things our eyes are
dim.
Because of this, our hearts are
faint; because of these, our eyes
grow dim—
Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be
wailing for them.
Their violence has
grown into a rod to
punish their wickedness. None of them will remain: none of their multitude, none of their wealth, and nothing of value.
I have caused thee to multiply as the
bud of the field, and thou hast increased and
waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is
grown, whereas thou
wast naked and bare.
I made you
thrive like a plant of the field. You grew up and
matured and became very beautiful. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, but you were naked and bare.
Then said I unto her that was old in
adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?
Then I said of her who had
grown old in
adulteries: ‘Now let them use her as a
prostitute, for that is all she is!’

traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

grow upon you and cover you with skin. I will put breath within you so that you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to
grow long; they shall only
poll their heads.

grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not
fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.
Along both banks of the river, fruit trees of all kinds will
grow. Their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. Each month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will be used for food and their leaves for
healing.”

The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon
Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the
dew of heaven, till his hairs were
grown like eagles feathers, and his
nails like birds’ claws.
At that moment the sentence against
Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from mankind. He
ate grass like an ox, and his body was
drenched with the
dew of heaven, until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his
nails like the claws of a bird.
Now the queen, by reason of the words of the king and his lords, came into the
banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:
Hearing the outcry of the king and his nobles, the queen entered the
banquet hall. “O king, may you live
forever!” she said. “Do not let your thoughts
terrify you, or your face
grow pale.
And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.

I will be as the
dew unto Israel: he shall
grow as the
lily, and cast forth his roots as
Lebanon.

dew to Israel; he will
blossom like the
lily and take root like the cedars of
Lebanon.
They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and
grow as the vine: the
scent thereof shall be as the wine of
Lebanon.
They will return and dwell in his shade; they will
grow grain and
blossom like the vine. His
renown will be like the wine of
Lebanon.
The earth shall
quake before them; the heavens shall
tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their
shining:
Before them the earth quakes; the heavens
tremble. The sun and moon
grow dark, and the stars lose their brightness.
The sun and the moon shall be
darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their
shining.
The sun and moon will
grow dark, and the stars will no longer
shine.
Will a lion
roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
Does a lion
roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion
growl in his den if he has caught nothing?
I have
smitten you with blasting and
mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the
palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

blight and
mildew in your
growing gardens and vineyards; the
locust devoured your fig and olive trees, yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.
This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.

pity on the
gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it

grow. It
sprang up in a night and perished in a night.

smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with
healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and
grow up as
calves of the
stall.
“But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with
healing in its wings, and you will go out and
leap like
calves from the
stall.
And why take ye thought for
raiment? Consider the
lilies of the field, how they
grow; they
toil not, neither do they
spin:
And why do you
worry about clothes? Consider how the
lilies of the field
grow: They do not labor or
spin.
For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should
heal them.
For this people’s heart has
grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would
heal them.’
Let both
grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my
barn.
Let both
grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and
tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my
barn.’”
Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is
grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and
lodge in the branches thereof.

withered.

Because of the
multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will
grow cold.
And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
Night and day he sleeps and wakes, and the seed
sprouts and
grows, though he knows not how.
But when it is sown, it
groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may
lodge under the shadow of it.
But after it is planted, it grows to be the largest of all garden plants and puts forth great branches, so that the birds of the air nest in its shade.”
And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
She had borne much
agony under the care of many physicians and had spent all she had, but to no
avail. Instead, her condition had only
grown worse.
Consider the
lilies how they
grow: they
toil not, they
spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these.
Consider how the
lilies grow: They do not labor or
spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.
Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them
whereunto this would
grow.

perplexed as to what was happening.
For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should
heal them.
For this people’s heart has
grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would
heal them.’
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
And let us not be
weary in well doing: for in due season we shall
reap, if we
faint not.
Let us not
grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up.

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the
effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the
edifying of itself in love.
From Him the whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting
ligament,
grows and builds itself up in love through the work of each individual part.
Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it
doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood the grace of God.
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having
nourishment ministered, and
knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
He has lost connection to the head, from whom the whole body, supported and
knit together by its joints and ligaments,
grows as God causes it to
grow.
We are bound to
thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith
groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
We are
obligated to
thank God for you all the time, brothers, as is fitting, because your faith is
growing more and more, and your love for one another is increasing.
But ye, brethren, be not
weary in well doing.
But as for you, brothers, do not
grow weary in well-doing.
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
By faith Moses, when he was grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
Consider Him who
endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not
grow weary and lose heart.
Then when
lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive
berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
My brothers, can a fig tree
grow olives, or a
grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
As
newborn babes, desire the
sincere milk of the word, that ye may
grow thereby:
Like
newborn babies,
crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may
grow up in your salvation,
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But
grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever.
Amen.
But
grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of
eternity.
Amen.
And hast borne, and hast
patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not
fainted.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art
wretched, and
miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
You say, ‘I am rich; I have
grown wealthy and need nothing.’ But you do not
realize that you are
wretched,
pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.
For all nations have
drunk of the wine of the wrath of her
fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed
fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her
delicacies.
All the nations have
drunk the wine of the passion of her immorality. The kings of the earth were immoral with her, and the merchants of the earth have
grown wealthy from the
extravagance of her
luxury.”
And as many fountains flowing with milk and honey, and seven mighty mountains,
whereupon there
grow roses and
lilies, whereby I will fill thy children with joy.
He said moreover unto me, Thine own things, and such as are grown up with thee, canst thou not know;
Even so now, seeing corruption is grown up, and wickedness increased, and the righteous have prayed for the ungodly: wherefore shall it not be so now also?
For ask the earth, and she shall tell thee, that it is she which ought to
mourn for the fall of so many that
grow upon her.
Behold,
victuals shall be so good
cheap upon earth, that they shall think themselves to be in good case, and even then shall evils
grow upon earth, sword, famine, and great confusion.
And the earth shall be laid waste, and the fields thereof shall wax old, and her ways and all her paths shall grow full of thorns, because no man shall travel therethrough.
Thus in process of time an ungodly custom
grown strong was kept as a law, and
graven images were worshipped by the commandments of kings.
That thy children, O Lord, whom thou lovest, might know, that it is not the growing of fruits that nourisheth man: but that it is thy word, which preserveth them that put their trust in thee.
As of the green leaves on a thick tree, some fall, and some grow; so is the generation of flesh and blood, one cometh to an end, and another is born.
Hearken unto me, ye holy children, and
bud forth as a rose
growing by the
brook of the field:
The
weed growing upon every water and bank of a river shall be pulled up before all grass.
And as a fair olive tree
budding forth fruit, and as a
cypress tree which
groweth up to the clouds.
O all ye things that
grow in the earth,
bless ye the Lord: praise and
exalt him above all for ever.
And when they saw the sanctuary
desolate, and the altar
profaned, and the gates burned up, and shrubs
growing in the courts as in a forest, or in one of the mountains,
yea, and the priests’ chambers pulled down;
