Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
And he
beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the
head of the corner?
But Jesus looked directly at them and said, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’?
But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
Yet not even a hair of your head will perish.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your
heads; for your
redemption draweth
nigh.
When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your
heads, because your
redemption is drawing near.”

nigh unto the village,
whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
As they approached the village where they were headed, He seemed to be going farther.

whither they went.

“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not only my feet, but my hands and my head as well!”
And the soldiers
platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his
head, and they put on him a purple
robe,
The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns, set it on His
head, and dressed Him in a purple
robe.
When Jesus therefore had received the
vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his
head, and gave up the ghost.

sour wine, He said, “It is finished.” And bowing His
head, He yielded up His spirit.
And the
napkin, that was about his
head, not lying with the linen clothes, but
wrapped together in a place by itself.
The cloth that had been around Jesus’ head was rolled up, lying separate from the linen cloths.
And
seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the
head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had
lain.
and she saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had
lain, one at the
head and the other at the feet.
(Now with the reward for his wickedness
Judas bought a field; there he fell
headlong and
burst open in the middle, and all his intestines
spilled out.
This is the stone which was set at
nought of you builders, which is become the
head of the corner.
This Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’
And when they opposed themselves, and
blasphemed, he
shook his
raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own
heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
But when they opposed and
insulted him, he
shook out his garments and told them, “Your blood be on your own
heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
And Paul after this
tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him
Priscilla and
Aquila; having
shorn his
head in Cenchrea: for he had a
vow.
Paul remained in Corinth for quite some time before saying goodbye to the brothers. He had his
head shaved in Cenchrea to keep a
vow he had made, and then he sailed for Syria, accompanied by
Priscilla and
Aquila.
Them take, and
purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may
shave their
heads: and all may know that those things,
whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou
thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
Take these men,
purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so they can have their
heads shaved. Then
everyone will know that there is no truth to these rumors about you, but that you also live in obedience to the law.
And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
Unable to head into the wind, the ship was caught up. So we gave way and let ourselves be driven along.
Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
So for your own preservation, I
urge you to eat something, because not a single hair of your
head will be lost.”
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he
thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt
heap coals of fire on his
head.
On the contrary, “If your enemy is
hungry, feed him; if he is
thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will
heap burning coals on his
head.”
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
Every man praying or
prophesying, having his
head covered, dishonoureth his
head.
Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.
But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her
head uncovered dishonoureth her
head: for that is even all one as if she were
shaven.
And every woman who prays or prophesies with her
head uncovered dishonors her
head, for it is just as if her
head were
shaved.
For if the woman be not covered, let her also be
shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be
shorn or
shaven, let her be covered.
If a woman does not cover her
head, she should have her hair cut off. And if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or
shaved off, she should cover her
head.
For a man indeed ought not to cover his
head,
forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.
For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
For this reason a woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels.
Judge in
yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
Judge for
yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her
head uncovered?
And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you.” Nor can the head say to the feet, “I do not need you.”
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
And God put everything under His feet and made Him head over everything for the church,
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
For the husband is the
head of the wife as Christ is the
head of the church, His body, of which He is the
Savior.
And he is the
head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
And He is the
head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and
firstborn from among the dead, so that in all things He may have preeminence.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
And not holding the
Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having
nourishment ministered, and
knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
He has lost connection to the
head, from whom the whole body, supported and
knit together by its joints and ligaments, grows as God causes it to grow.
Traitors,
heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be
disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the
head of the corner,
To you who believe, then, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
The hair of His
head was white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like a
blazing fire.
And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white
raiment; and they had on their
heads crowns of gold.
Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and on these thrones sat twenty-four elders dressed in white, with golden crowns on their heads.
And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
And the locusts looked like horses prepared for battle, with something like crowns of gold on their heads, and faces like the faces of men.
And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of
jacinth, and
brimstone: and the
heads of the horses were as the
heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and
brimstone.
Now the horses and riders in my vision looked like this: The riders had breastplates the colors of fire,
sapphire, and sulfur. The
heads of the horses were like the
heads of lions, and out of their mouths proceeded fire, smoke, and sulfur.
For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had
heads, and with them they do
hurt.
For the power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; indeed, their tails were like snakes, having
heads with which to
inflict harm.
And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a
rainbow was upon his
head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven,
wrapped in a cloud, with a
rainbow above his
head. His face was like the sun, and his legs were like pillars of fire.
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed in the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.
And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red
dragon, having seven
heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his
heads.
Then another sign appeared in heaven: a huge red
dragon with seven
heads, ten horns, and seven royal crowns on his
heads.
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven
heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his
heads the name of
blasphemy.
Then I saw a beast with ten horns and seven
heads rising out of the sea. There were ten royal crowns on its horns and
blasphemous names on its
heads.
And I saw one of his
heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was
healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
One of the
heads of the beast appeared to be
mortally wounded. But the
mortal wound was
healed, and the whole world
marveled and followed the beast.
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his
head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp
sickle.
And I looked and saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was One like the Son of Man, with a golden crown on His
head and a sharp
sickle in His hand.
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of
blasphemy, having seven
heads and ten horns.
And the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, where I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with
blasphemous names and had seven
heads and ten horns.
And the angel said unto me, Wherefore
didst thou
marvel? I will tell thee the
mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven
heads and ten horns.
“Why are you so
amazed?” said the angel. “I will tell you the
mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven
heads and ten horns.
And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.
Then they will throw dust on their
heads as they
weep and
mourn and cry out: “
Woe,
woe to the great city, where all who had ships on the sea were enriched by her wealth! For in a single hour she has been destroyed.”
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
He has eyes like
blazing fire, and many royal crowns on His
head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows.
As, to be clothed in purple, to drink in gold, and to sleep upon gold, and a
chariot with bridles of gold, and an
headtire of fine linen, and a chain about his neck:
And taking the crown from the king’s head, and setting it upon her own head; she also struck the king with her left hand.
And these are the names of the men which went up, according to their families among their tribes, after their several heads.
And as soon as I had heard these things, I rent my clothes, and the holy garment, and pulled off the hair from off my
head and
beard, and sat me down
sad and very heavy.
For our sins are multiplied above our heads, and our ignorances have reached up unto heaven.
Pull thou off then the hair of thy
head, and cast all evil upon them, for they have not been
obedient unto my law, but it is a
rebellious people.
And in the midst of them there was a young man of a high
stature, taller than all the rest, and upon every one of their
heads he set crowns, and was more
exalted; which I
marvelled at greatly.
And when I spake these things in my heart, I looked back with mine eyes, and upon the right side I saw a woman, and, behold, she
mourned and
wept with a loud voice, and was much
grieved in heart, and her clothes were rent, and she had ashes upon her
head.
Then saw I a dream, and, behold, there came up from the sea an eagle, which had twelve
feathered wings, and three
heads.
But her heads were at rest: the head in the midst was greater than the other, yet rested it with the residue.
But let the heads be preserved for the last.
And I
beheld, and, lo, the voice went not out of her
heads, but from the midst of her body.
And there was no more upon the eagle’s body, but three heads that rested, and six little wings.
Then saw I also that two little feathers divided themselves from the six, and remained under the head that was upon the right side: for the four continued in their place.
And when they so thought, behold, there
awaked one of the
heads that were at rest, namely, it that was in the midst; for that was greater than the two other
heads.
And then I saw that the two other heads were joined with it.
And, behold, the head was turned with them that were with it, and did eat up the two feathers under the wing that would have reigned.
But this
head put the whole earth in fear, and bare rule in it over all those that dwelt upon the earth with much oppression; and it had the
governance of the world more than all the wings that had been.
And after this I
beheld, and, lo, the
head that was in the midst suddenly appeared no more, like as the wings.
But there remained the two heads, which also in like sort ruled upon the earth, and over those that dwelt therein.
And I
beheld, and, lo, the
head upon the right side
devoured it that was upon the left side.
Then I head a voice, which said unto me, Look before thee, and consider the thing that thou seest.
And therefore appear no more, thou eagle, nor thy
horrible wings, nor thy wicked feathers nor thy
malicious heads, nor thy
hurtful claws, nor all thy vain body:
And, behold, the
head that remained and the four wings appeared no more, and the two went unto it and set themselves up to reign, and their kingdom was small, and fill of
uproar.
As for the voice which thou heardest speak, and that thou sawest not to go out from the heads but from the midst of the body thereof, this is the interpretation:
And whereas thou sawest three heads resting, this is the interpretation:
And of those that dwell therein, with much oppression, above all those that were before them: therefore are they called the heads of the eagle.
And whereas thou sawest that the great head appeared no more, it signifieth that one of them shall die upon his bed, and yet with pain.
And whereas thou sawest two feathers under the wings passing over the head that is on the right side;
Let not the
sinner say that he hath not
sinned: for God shall burn coals of fire upon his
head, which saith before the Lord God and his glory, I have not
sinned.
Thus every man and women, and the little children, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, fell before the temple, and cast ashes upon their
heads, and spread out their
sackcloth before the face of the Lord: also they put
sackcloth about the altar,
For as he stood overseeing them that bound
sheaves in the field, the heat came upon his
head, and he fell on his bed, and died in the city of Bethulia: and they buried him with his fathers in the field between Dothaim and Balamo.
And the slaughter of our brethren, and the captivity of the country, and the
desolation of our inheritance, will he turn upon our
heads among the Gentiles,
wheresoever we shall be in
bondage; and we shall be an offence and a reproach to all them that possess us.
Judith fell upon her face, and put ashes upon her
head, and uncovered the
sackcloth wherewith she was clothed; and about the time that the incense of that evening was offered in Jerusalem in the house of the Lord
Judith cried with a loud voice, and said,
Behold their pride, and send thy wrath upon their heads: give into mine hand, which am a widow, the power that I have conceived.
And pulled off the
sackcloth which she had on, and put off the garments of her
widowhood, and washed her body all over with water, and
anointed herself with precious
ointment, and
braided the hair of her
head, and put on a
tire upon it, and put on her garments of
gladness,
wherewith she was
clad during the life of Manasses her husband.
Then she came to the
pillar of the bed, which was at Holofernes’
head, and took down his
fauchion from thence,
And approached to his bed, and took hold of the hair of his
head, and said,
Strengthen me, O Lord God of Israel, this day.
And she
smote twice upon his neck with all her might, and she took away his
head from him.
And
tumbled his body down from the bed, and pulled down the
canopy from the pillars; and
anon after she went forth, and gave Holofernes his
head to her
maid;
So she took the
head out of the
bag, and shewed it, and said unto them, behold the
head of Holofernes, the chief captain of the army of Assur, and behold the
canopy, wherein he did lie in his
drunkenness; and the Lord hath
smitten him by the hand of a woman.
Then said Ozias unto her, O daughter, blessed art thou of the most high God above all the women upon the earth; and blessed be the Lord God, which hath created the heavens and the earth, which hath directed thee to the cutting off of the head of the chief of our enemies.
Then said
Judith unto them, Hear me now, my brethren, and take this
head, and
hang it upon the highest place of your walls.
Then they called Achior out of the house of Ozias; and when he was come, and saw the head of Holofernes in a man’s hand in the assembly of the people, he fell down on his face, and his spirit failed.
And as soon as the morning arose, they
hanged the
head of Holofernes upon the wall, and every man took his weapons, and they went forth by bands unto the straits of the mountain.
But because none answered, he opened it, and went into the
bedchamber, and found him cast upon the floor dead, and his
head was taken from him.
These slaves have dealt
treacherously; one woman of the Hebrews hath brought shame upon the house of king Nabuchodonosor: for, behold, Holofernes lieth upon the ground without a
head.
