enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall
bruise thy
head, and thou shalt
bruise his
heel.
And I will put
enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will
crush your
head, and you will strike his
heel.”

granddaughter of my master’s brother for his son.

Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine
head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou
wast his
butler.

When the chief
baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my
head:
When the chief
baker saw that the interpretation was favorable, he said to Joseph, “I too had a dream: There were three baskets of white bread on my
head.
In the top
basket were all sorts of
baked goods for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating them out of the
basket on my
head.”
Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy

And he
slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one
stalk, rank and good.
but he fell back
asleep and dreamed a second time: Seven
heads of grain,
plump and ripe, came up on one
stalk.
And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.
After them, seven other
heads of grain
sprouted, thin and
scorched by the east wind.
And the seven thin ears
devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh
awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.
And the thin
heads of grain
swallowed up the seven
plump, ripe ones. Then Pharaoh
awoke and realized it was a dream.
And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one
stalk, full and good:
In my dream I also saw seven
heads of grain,
plump and ripe, growing on a single
stalk.
And, behold, seven ears,
withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:
And the thin ears
devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.
And the thin
heads of grain
swallowed the seven
plump ones. I told this dream to the magicians, but no one could explain it to me.”

kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.
The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven ripe heads of grain are seven years. The dreams have the same meaning.
And the seven thin and ill favoured
kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and so are the seven worthless
heads of grain
scorched by the east wind—they are seven years of famine.

And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s
head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon
Manasseh’s
head, guiding his hands
wittingly; for
Manasseh was the
firstborn.

head of Ephraim, the younger; and crossing his hands, he put his left on
Manasseh’s
head, although
Manasseh was the
firstborn.
And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the
head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s

The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the
everlasting hills: they shall be on the
head of Joseph, and on the crown of the
head of him that was separate from his brethren.

bounty of the
everlasting hills. May they rest on the
head of Joseph, on the
brow of the prince of his brothers.

Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your
heads, neither
rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel,
bewail the burning which the LORD hath
kindled.
Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons
Eleazar and
Ithamar, “Do not let your hair become
disheveled and do not
tear your garments, or else you will die, and the LORD will be
angry with the whole congregation. But your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may
mourn on account of the fire that the LORD has
ignited.
And if a
leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the
leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his
head even to his foot,
wheresoever the priest looketh;
But if the skin disease breaks out all over his skin so that it covers all the skin of the
infected person from
head to foot, as far as the priest can see,
If a man or woman have a plague upon the
head or the
beard;
Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a dry
scall, even a
leprosy upon the
head or
beard.
the priest shall examine the
infection, and if it appears to be deeper than the skin and the hair in it is yellow and thin, the priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a
scaly outbreak, an
infectious disease of the
head or
chin.
And the man whose hair is fallen off his
head, he is
bald; yet is he clean.
Now if a man loses his hair and is
bald, he is still clean.
And he that hath his hair fallen off from the part of his
head toward his face, he is
forehead bald: yet is he clean.
Or if his hairline recedes and he is
bald on his
forehead, he is still clean.
Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the
sore be white reddish in his
bald head, or in his
bald forehead, as the
leprosy appeareth in the skin of the flesh;
The priest is to examine him, and if the swelling of the
infection on his
bald head or
forehead is reddish-white like a skin disease,
He is a
leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall
pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his
head.
the man is diseased; he is unclean. The priest must
pronounce him unclean because of the
infection on his
head.
And the
leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his
head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper
lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
A diseased person must wear
torn clothes and let his hair
hang loose, and he must cover his mouth and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean!’
But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall
shave all his hair off his
head and his
beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall
shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.
On the seventh day he must
shave off all his hair—his
head, his
beard, his eyebrows, and the rest of his hair. He must wash his clothes and
bathe himself with water, and he will be clean.
And the
remnant of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the
head of him that is to be
cleansed: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him before the LORD.
The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the
head of the one to be
cleansed, to make
atonement for him before the LORD.
And the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put upon the
head of him that is to be
cleansed, to make an
atonement for him before the LORD.
The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the
head of the one to be
cleansed, to make
atonement for him before the LORD.
And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the
head of the live goat, and
confess over him all the
iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the
head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
Then he is to lay both hands on the
head of the live goat and
confess over it all the
iniquities and
rebellious acts of the Israelites in regard to all their sins. He is to put them on the goat’s
head and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man appointed for the task.
Ye shall not round the corners of your
heads, neither shalt thou
mar the corners of thy
beard.
You must not cut off the hair at the sides of your
head or
clip off the edges of your
beard.
Thou shalt rise up before the
hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.
You are to rise in the presence of the elderly, honor the aged, and fear your God. I am the LORD.
They shall not make
baldness upon their
head, neither shall they
shave off the corner of their
beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
Priests must not make
bald spots on their
heads,
shave off the edges of their beards, or make cuts in their bodies.
And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose
head the
anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his
head, nor
rend his clothes;
The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had the
anointing oil poured on his
head and has been ordained to wear the priestly garments, must not let his hair
hang loose or
tear his garments.
Bring forth him that hath
cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his
head, and let all the congregation stone him.

blasphemer outside the camp, and have all who heard him lay their hands on his
head; then have the whole assembly stone him.
And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
And one man from each tribe, the head of each family, must be there with you.
These were the
renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers,
heads of thousands in Israel.
These men were appointed from the congregation; they were the leaders of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the clans of Israel.
And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s
head, and put the offering of
memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the
curse:
After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to hold the bitter water that brings a
curse.
All the days of the
vow of his separation there shall no
razor come upon his
head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his
head grow.
For the entire period of his
vow of separation, no
razor shall pass over his
head. He must be holy until the time of his separation to the LORD is complete; he must let the hair of his
head grow long.
He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the
consecration of his God is upon his
head.
Even if his father or mother or brother or sister should die, he is not to
defile himself, because the crown of
consecration to his God is upon his
head.
If someone suddenly dies in his presence and defiles his consecrated
head of hair, he must
shave his
head on the day of his
cleansing—the seventh day.
And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an
atonement for him, for that he
sinned by the dead, and shall
hallow his
head that same day.
And the priest is to offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to make
atonement for him, because he has
sinned by being in the presence of the dead body. On that day he must
consecrate his
head again.
And the
Nazarite shall
shave the
head of his separation at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the
head of his separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings.
Then at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, the
Nazirite is to
shave his consecrated
head, take the hair, and put it on the fire under the peace offering.
That the princes of Israel, heads of the house of their fathers, who were the princes of the tribes, and were over them that were numbered, offered:
And the leaders of Israel, the
heads of their families, presented an offering. These men were the
tribal leaders who had
supervised the
registration.
And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the
heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an
atonement for the Levites.
And the Levites are to lay their hands on the
heads of the bulls, and offer to the LORD one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, to make
atonement for the Levites.
And if they blow but with one
trumpet, then the princes, which are
heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.
But if only one is sounded, then the leaders, the heads of the clans of Israel, are to gather before you.
And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of
Paran: all those men were
heads of the children of Israel.
So at the consent of the LORD, Moses sent them out from the Wilderness of
Paran. All the men were leaders of the Israelites,
(Now the
Amalekites and the
Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To
morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
Now since the
Amalekites and
Canaanites are living in the valleys, turn back
tomorrow and
head for the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea.”
