Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
Ephraim is joined to idols; leave him alone!
Ephraim
provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he
leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
Ephraim has
provoked bitter anger, so his Lord will
leave his bloodguilt upon him and repay him for his contempt.
Who knoweth if he will return and
repent, and
leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him— grain and drink offerings for the LORD your God.
Offer
leavened bread as a
thank offering, and loudly
proclaim your
freewill offerings. For that is what you children of Israel love to do,” declares the Lord GOD.
For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
This is what the Lord GOD says: “The city that marches out a thousand strong will only see a hundred return, and the one that marches out a hundred strong will have but ten left in the house of Israel.”
Ye who turn judgment to
wormwood, and
leave off righteousness in the earth,
There are those who turn justice into
wormwood and cast righteousness to the ground.
If
thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have
stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not
leave some grapes?
“If
thieves came to you, if robbers by night— oh, how you will be ruined— would they not
steal only what they wanted? If
grape gatherers came to you, would they not
leave some gleanings?
Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of
Zion, like a woman in
travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall
redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
Writhe in
agony, O Daughter of
Zion, like a woman in labor. For now you will
leave the city and camp in the open fields. You will go to Babylon; there you will be
rescued; there the LORD will
redeem you from the hand of your enemies!
The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all
acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the
whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will by no means
leave the guilty unpunished. His path is in the
whirlwind and storm, and clouds are the dust beneath His feet.
I will also
leave in the midst of thee an
afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.
But I will
leave within you a
meek and humble people, and they will trust in the name of the LORD.
Woe to the
idol shepherd that
leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly
darkened.
Woe to the worthless
shepherd, who deserts the flock! May a sword strike his arm and his right eye! May his arm be completely
withered and his right eye utterly blinded!”
For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an
oven; and all the proud,
yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be
stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall
leave them neither root nor branch.
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the
arrogant and every
evildoer will be
stubble; the day is coming when I will set them
ablaze,” says the LORD of Hosts. “Not a root or branch will be left to them.”
Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
Then the devil left Him, and angels came and ministered to Him.
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be
reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be
reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they
besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they
begged Him to
leave their region.
And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city,
shake off the dust of your feet.
And if
anyone will not
welcome you or
heed your words,
shake the dust off your feet when you
leave that home or town.
Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto
leaven, which a woman took, and
hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was
leavened.
He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like
leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was
leavened.”
How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should
beware of the
leaven of the
Pharisees and of the
Sadducees?
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone
astray,
doth he not
leave the
ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone
astray?
What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes
astray, will he not
leave the
ninety-nine on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?
And said, For this cause shall a man
leave father and mother, and shall
cleave to his wife: and they
twain shall be one flesh?
and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?
And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing
thereon, but
leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee
henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree
withered away.
Seeing a fig tree by the road, He went up to it but found nothing on it except
leaves. “May you never bear fruit again!” He said. And immediately the tree
withered.
Woe unto you,
scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay
tithe of
mint and
anise and
cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to
leave the other undone.
Woe to you,
scribes and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You pay
tithes of
mint,
dill, and
cumin. But you have disregarded the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth
leaves, ye know that summer is
nigh:
Now learn this
lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branches become tender and
sprout leaves, you know that summer is near.
The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
But the others said, “
Leave Him alone. Let us see if
Elijah comes to save Him.”
And
forthwith Jesus gave them
leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the
swine: and the
herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were
choked in the sea.
He gave them permission, and the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs, and the
herd of about two thousand
rushed down the steep bank into the sea and
drowned in the water.
And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
And the people began to
beg Jesus to
leave their region.
And he said unto them, In what place
soever ye enter into an house, there
abide till ye depart from that place.
And He told them, “When you enter a house, stay there until you leave that area.
And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence,
shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more
tolerable for
Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
If
anyone will not
welcome you or
listen to you,
shake the dust off your feet when you
leave that place, as a testimony against them.”
For this cause shall a man
leave his father and mother, and
cleave to his wife;
‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
And seeing a fig tree
afar off having
leaves, he came, if
haply he might find any thing
thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but
leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if there was any fruit on it. But when He reached it, He found nothing on it except leaves, since it was not the season for figs.
Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man’s brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
“Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man is to marry his brother’s widow and raise up offspring for him.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
Now learn this
lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branches become tender and
sprout leaves, you know that summer is near.

But Jesus said, “
Leave her alone; why are you
bothering her? She has done a beautiful deed to Me.
And one ran and filled a
spunge full of
vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
And someone ran and filled a
sponge with
sour wine. He put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “
Leave Him alone. Let us see if
Elijah comes to take Him down.”
Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that area.
And
whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city,
shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
If
anyone does not
welcome you,
shake the dust off your feet when you
leave that town, as a testimony against them.”
But
woe unto you,
Pharisees! for ye
tithe mint and
rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to
leave the other undone.
Woe to you
Pharisees! You pay
tithes of
mint,
rue, and every
herb, but you disregard justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without neglecting the former.
In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people,
insomuch that they
trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all,
Beware ye of the
leaven of the
Pharisees, which is
hypocrisy.
In the meantime, a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were
trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “
Beware of the
leaven of the
Pharisees, which is
hypocrisy.
And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall
dig about it, and dung it:
‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘
leave it alone again this year, until I
dig around it and
fertilize it.
It is like
leaven, which a woman took and
hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was
leavened.
It is like
leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was
leavened.”
The same day there came certain of the
Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
At that very hour, some
Pharisees came to Jesus and told Him, “
Leave this place and get away, because Herod wants to kill You.”
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them,
doth not
leave the
ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
“What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not
leave the
ninety-nine in the pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?
And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not
leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy
visitation.
They will level you to the ground—you and the children within your walls. They will not
leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your
visitation from God.”
Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
“Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man is to marry his brother’s widow and raise up offspring for him.
When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own
selves that summer is now
nigh at hand.
When they
sprout leaves, you can see for
yourselves and know that summer is near.
Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
So Jesus asked the Twelve, “Do you want to leave too?”
His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
So Jesus’ brothers said to Him, “
Leave here and go to
Judea, so that Your disciples there may see the works You are doing.
But he that is an
hireling, and not the
shepherd, whose own the sheep are not,
seeth the wolf coming, and
leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
The
hired hand is not the
shepherd, and the sheep are not his own. When he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf pounces on them and scatters the flock.
Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my
burying hath she kept this.
“
Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “She has kept this
perfume in preparation for the day of My burial.
Now before the feast of the
passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
It was now just before the
Passover Feast, and Jesus knew that His hour had come to
leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the very end.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
I came from the Father and entered the world. In turn, I will leave the world and go to the Father.”
Behold, the hour cometh,
yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall
leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
“Look, an hour is coming and has already come when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and you will leave Me all alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.
And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews,
besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and
Pilate gave him
leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
Afterward, Joseph of
Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus (but secretly for fear of the Jews), asked
Pilate to let him remove the body of Jesus.
Pilate gave him permission, so he came and removed His body.
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
And while they were gathered together, He commanded them: “Do not
leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift the Father promised, which you have heard Me
discuss.
Because thou
wilt not
leave my soul in
hell, neither
wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
because You will not
abandon my soul to Hades, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.
But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
So they ordered them to
leave the
Sanhedrin and then conferred together.
And now I say unto you,
Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to
nought:
So in the present case I
advise you:
Leave these men alone. Let them go! For if their purpose or
endeavor is of human origin, it will fail.
Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
So the Twelve summoned all the disciples and said, “It is unacceptable for us to neglect the word of God in order to wait on tables.
And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall
shew thee.
and told him, ‘Leave your country and your kindred and go to the land I will show you.’
And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into
Macedonia,
assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to
preach the gospel unto them.
As soon as Paul had seen the vision, we got ready to
leave for
Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to
preach the gospel to them.
And they came and
besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.
They came to
appease them and led them out, requesting that they
leave the city.
And found a certain
Jew named
Aquila, born in
Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife
Priscilla; (because that
Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
There he found a
Jew named
Aquila, a native of
Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife
Priscilla because
Claudius had ordered all the Jews to
leave Rome. Paul went to visit them,
And Paul after this
tarried there yet a good while, and then took his
leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him
Priscilla and
Aquila; having
shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a
vow.
Paul remained in Corinth for quite some time before saying goodbye to the brothers. He had his head
shaved in Cenchrea to keep a
vow he had made, and then he sailed for Syria, accompanied by
Priscilla and
Aquila.
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the
morrow; and continued his speech until
midnight.
On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Since Paul was ready to
leave the next day, he talked to them and kept on speaking until
midnight.
And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.
And after we had said our farewells, we went
aboard the ship, and they returned home.
And saw him saying unto me, Make
haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
and saw the Lord saying to me, ‘
Hurry!
Leave Jerusalem quickly, because the people here will not accept your testimony about Me.’
And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: “The Holy Spirit was right when He spoke to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet:
Do not
avenge yourselves, beloved, but
leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “
Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.”
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little
leaven leaveneth the whole
lump?
Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the
covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
I was not including the sexually immoral of this world, or the
greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to
leave this world.
And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
And if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not
divorce him.
But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under
bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace.
I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not
Titus my brother: but taking my
leave of them, I went from thence into
Macedonia.
I had no peace in my spirit, because I did not find my brother
Titus there. So I said goodbye to them and went on to
Macedonia.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of
repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Therefore let us
leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to
maturity, not laying again the foundation of
repentance from dead works, and of faith in God,
Let your conversation be without
covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never
leave thee, nor
forsake thee.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I
leave you, never will I
forsake you.”
Him that overcometh will I make a
pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
The one who overcomes I will make a
pillar in the temple of My God, and he will never again
leave it. Upon him I will write the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from My God), and My new name.
But the court which is without the temple
leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they
tread under foot forty and two months.
But
exclude the
courtyard outside the temple. Do not measure it, because it has been given over to the nations, and they will
trample the holy city for 42 months.
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall
hate the
whore, and shall make her
desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
And the ten horns and the beast that you saw will
hate the
prostitute. They will
leave her
desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the
leaves of the tree were for the
healing of the nations.
down the middle of the main street of the city. On either side of the river stood a tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit and yielding a fresh crop for each month. And the
leaves of the tree are for the
healing of the nations.
A man leaveth his own father that brought him up, and his own country, and cleaveth unto his wife.
Moreover ye shall never seek to have peace with them, that ye may be strong, and eat the good things of the land, and that ye may
leave the inheritance of the land unto your children for
evermore.
When ye were
thirsty, did I not
cleave the rock, and waters flowed out to your fill? for the heat I covered you with the
leaves of the trees.
To
shew thee such
tokens I have
leave; and if thou
wilt pray again, and
weep as now, and fast even days, thou shalt hear yet greater things.
Up then, and eat bread, and
forsake us not, as the
shepherd that
leaveth his flock in the hands of cruel
wolves.
And when all the people hear his voice, every man shall in their own land leave the battle they have one against another.
But they took this counsel among themselves, that they would leave the multitude of the heathen, and go forth into a further country, where never mankind dwelt,
Behold, God himself is the judge, fear him:
leave off from your sins, and
forget your
iniquities, to
meddle no more with them for ever: so shall God lead you forth, and deliver you from all trouble.
Then Raphael said to Tobias, Thou knowest, brother, how thou
didst leave thy father:
And when thou
didst not delay to rise up, and
leave thy
dinner, to go and cover the dead, thy good deed was not
hid from me: but I was with thee.
