But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as
Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no
blemish in him.
Now there was not a man in all Israel as handsome and highly praised as
Absalom. From the sole of his foot to the top of his head, he did not have a single
flaw.
So
Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king’s face.
Now Absalom lived in Jerusalem two years without seeing the face of the king.
And
Absalom answered
Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come
hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still:
now therefore let me see the king’s face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.
“Look,” said
Absalom, “I sent for you and said, ‘Come here. I want to send you to the king to ask: Why have I come back from Geshur? It would be better for me if I were still there.’ So
now, let me see the king’s face, and if there is iniquity in me, let him kill me.”
But if thou return to the city, and say unto
Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father’s servant hitherto, so will I
now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of
Ahithophel.
But you can
thwart the counsel of
Ahithophel for me if you return to the city and say to
Absalom: ‘I will be your servant, my king; in the past I was your father’s servant, but
now I will be your servant.’
Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that
pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I
humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.
So the king said to Ziba, “All that belongs to Mephibosheth is
now yours!” “I
humbly bow before you,” said Ziba. “May I find favor in your eyes, my lord the king!”
And David said to
Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my
bowels, seeketh my life: how much more
now may this
Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him
curse; for the LORD hath
bidden him.
Then David said to
Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my own son, my own flesh and blood, seeks my life. How much more, then, this
Benjamite! Leave him alone and let him
curse me, for the LORD has told him so.
Moreover
Ahithophel said unto
Absalom, Let me
now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:
Then said
Absalom, Call
now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.
Then
Absalom said, “
Summon Hushai the Archite as well, and let us hear what he too has to say.”
Behold, he is
hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that
whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow
Absalom.
Surely by
now he is hiding in a cave or some other
location. If some of your troops fall first,
whoever hears of it will say, ‘There has been a slaughter among the troops who follow
Absalom.’
Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying,
Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be
swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.
Now send quickly and tell David, ‘Do not
spend the night at the fords of the wilderness, but be sure to cross over. Otherwise the king and all the people with him will be
swallowed up.’”
Now Jonathan and
Ahimaaz stayed by En-rogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a
wench went and told them; and they went and told king David.
Now Jonathan and
Ahimaaz were staying at En-rogel, where a servant
girl would come and pass along information to them. They in turn would go and inform King David, for they
dared not be seen entering the city.
But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we
flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but
now thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore
now it is better that thou succour us out of the city.
But the people
pleaded, “You must not go out! For if we have to
flee, they will pay no attention to us. Even if half of us die, they will not care; but you are worth ten thousand of us. It is better for
now if you support us from the city.”
And the king commanded
Joab and
Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with
Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning
Absalom.
Now the king had commanded
Joab,
Abishai, and Ittai, “Treat the young man
Absalom gently for my sake.” And all the people heard the king’s orders to each of the commanders regarding
Absalom.
And
Absalom met the servants of David. And
Absalom rode upon a
mule, and the
mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the
mule that was under him went away.
Now Absalom was riding on his
mule when he met the servants of David, and as the
mule went under the thick branches of a large oak,
Absalom’s head was caught fast in the tree. The
mule under him kept going, so that he was suspended in midair.
Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a
pillar, which is in the king’s
dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in
remembrance: and he called the
pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day,
Absalom’s place.
During his lifetime,
Absalom had set up for himself a
pillar in the King’s Valley, for he had said, “I have no son to preserve the memory of my name.” So he gave the
pillar his name, and to this day it is called
Absalom’s Monument.
Then
Ahimaaz son of
Zadok said, “Please let me run and tell the king the good news that the LORD has
avenged him of his enemies.”
And David sat between the two gates: and the
watchman went up to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone.
Now David was sitting between the two gates when the
watchman went up to the roof of the
gateway by the wall, looked out, and saw a man running alone.
Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak
comfortably unto thy servants: for I
swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not
tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that
befell thee from thy youth until
now.
Now therefore get up! Go out and speak comfort to your servants, for I
swear by the LORD that if you do not go out, not a man will remain with you
tonight. This will be worse for you than all the
adversity that has
befallen you from your youth until
now!”
And all the people were at
strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and
now he is fled out of the land for
Absalom.
And all the people throughout the tribes of Israel were
arguing, “The king
rescued us from the hand of our enemies and delivered us from the hand of the Philistines, but
now he has fled the land because of
Absalom.
And
Absalom, whom we
anointed over us, is dead in battle.
Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?
But
Absalom, the man we
anointed over us, has died in battle. So why do you say nothing about restoring the king?”
And Barzillai the Gileadite came down from Rogelim, and went over Jordan with the king, to conduct him over Jordan.
Now Barzillai the Gileadite had come down from Rogelim to cross the Jordan with the king and send him on his way from there.
Now Barzillai was a very aged man, even
fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of
sustenance while he lay at
Mahanaim; for he was a very great man.
Barzillai was quite old, eighty years of age, and since he was a very wealthy man, he had provided for the king while he stayed in
Mahanaim.
I am this day
fourscore years old: and can I
discern between good and evil? can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king?
I am
now eighty years old. Can I
discern what is good and what is not? Can your servant taste what he eats or drinks? Can I still hear the voice of singing men and women? Why should your servant be an added burden to my lord the king?
And there happened to be there a man of
Belial, whose name was
Sheba, the son of Bichri, a
Benjamite: and he
blew a
trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of
Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
Now a worthless man named
Sheba son of Bichri, a
Benjamite, happened to be there, and he
blew the ram’s horn and
shouted: “We have no share in David, no inheritance in
Jesse’s son. Every man to his tent, O Israel!”
And David said to
Abishai,
Now shall
Sheba the son of Bichri do us more
harm than did
Absalom: take thou thy lord’s servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him
fenced cities, and escape us.
And David said to
Abishai, “
Now Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more
harm than
Absalom. Take your lord’s servants and pursue him, or he will find fortified cities and
elude us.”
When they were at the great stone which is in
Gibeon,
Amasa went before them. And
Joab’s garment that he had put on was
girded unto him, and upon it a
girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the
sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.
Now Joab was over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites:
Now Joab was over the whole army of Israel; Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and Pelethites;
And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (
now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the
remnant of the
Amorites; and the children of Israel had
sworn unto them: and Saul sought to
slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
At this, David summoned the Gibeonites and spoke to them. (
Now the Gibeonites were not Israelites, but a
remnant of the
Amorites. The Israelites had taken an oath concerning them, but in his zeal for Israel and Judah, Saul had sought to kill them.)
But the king
spared Mephibosheth, the son of
Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’S oath that was between them, between David and
Jonathan the son of Saul.
Now the king
spared Mephibosheth son of
Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the oath before the LORD between David and
Jonathan son of Saul.
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of
Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the
anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet
psalmist of Israel, said,
These are the last words of David: “The
oracle of David son of
Jesse, the
oracle of the man raised on high, the one
anointed by the God of Jacob, and the sweet
psalmist of Israel:
And
Abishai, the brother of
Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his
spear against three hundred, and
slew them, and had the name among three.
Now Abishai, the brother of
Joab and son of Zeruiah, was chief of the Three, and he lifted his
spear against three hundred men, killed them, and won a name along with the Three.
For the king said to
Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go
now through all the tribes of Israel, from
Dan even to Beer-
sheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.
So the king said to
Joab the commander of his army, who was with him, “Go
now throughout the tribes of Israel from
Dan to
Beersheba and register the troops, so that I may know their number.”
And
Joab said unto the king,
Now the LORD thy God add unto the people, how many
soever they be, an
hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why
doth my lord the king delight in this thing?
But
Joab replied to the king, “May the LORD your God multiply the troops a hundred times over, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king want to do such a thing?”
And David’s heart
smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have
sinned greatly in that I have done: and
now, I
beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very
foolishly.
After David had numbered the troops, his conscience was
stricken and he said to the LORD, “I have
sinned greatly in what I have done.
Now, O LORD, I
beg You to take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have acted very
foolishly.”
So
Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or
wilt thou
flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days’
pestilence in thy land?
now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.
So
Gad went and said to David, “Do you choose to
endure three years of famine in your land, three months of
fleeing the pursuit of your enemies, or three days of plague upon your land?
Now then, think it over and decide how I should reply to Him who sent me.”
And David said unto
Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall
now into the hand of the LORD; for his
mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.
David answered
Gad, “I am deeply distressed. Please, let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for His
mercies are great; but do not let me fall into the hands of men.”
And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD
repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay
now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.
But when the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD relented from the
calamity and said to the angel who was destroying the people, “Enough! Withdraw your hand
now!” At that time the angel of the LORD was by the
threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
Now king David was old and
stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he
gat no heat.
Now King David was old and well along in years, and though they covered him with blankets, he could not keep warm.
Now therefore come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.
Now please, come and let me
advise you. Save your own life and the life of your son Solomon.
And now, behold, Adonijah reigneth; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest it not:
But now, behold, Adonijah has become king, and you, my lord the king, did not know it.
And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when
Joab heard the sound of the
trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an
uproar?
Now Adonijah and all his guests were finishing their feast when they heard the sound of the ram’s horn. “Why is the city in such a loud
uproar?” asked
Joab.
Now the days of David drew
nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,
As the time drew near for David to die, he charged his son Solomon,
Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his
hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood.
Now therefore, do not hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man. You know what you ought to do to him to bring his gray head down to
Sheol in blood.”
And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bath-
sheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou
peaceably? And he said,
Peaceably.
Now Adonijah son of Haggith went to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, and she asked, “Do you come in peace?” “
Yes, in peace,” he replied.
And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.
So now I have just one request of you; do not deny me.” “State your request,” she told him.
Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.
And
now, as surely as the LORD lives—the One who established me, who set me on the throne of my father David, and who founded for me a dynasty as He promised—surely Adonijah shall be put to death
today!”
And it was told king Solomon that
Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him.
It was reported to King Solomon: “
Joab has fled to the tent of the LORD and is
now beside the altar.” So Solomon sent Benaiah son of Jehoiada, saying, “Go, strike him down!”
And the king went to
Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
Now the king went to
Gibeon to sacrifice there, for it was the great high place. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar there.
And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
And now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king in my father David’s place. But I am only a little child, not knowing how to go out or come in.
And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
Now it pleased the Lord that Solomon had made this request.
And
Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had
anointed him king in the room of his father: for
Hiram was ever a lover of David.
Now when
Hiram king of Tyre heard that Solomon had been
anointed king in his father’s place, he sent envoys to Solomon; for
Hiram had always been a friend of David.
But
now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither
adversary nor evil
occurrent.
But
now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no
adversary or
crisis.
Now therefore command thou that they
hew me
cedar trees out of
Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give
hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt
appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to
hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
Now therefore, order that cedars of
Lebanon be cut down for me. My servants will be with your servants, and I will pay your servants whatever wages you set, for you know that there are none among us as skilled in
logging as the Sidonians.”
Now King Solomon sent to bring Huram from Tyre.
And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
Now the LORD has fulfilled the word that He spoke. I have succeeded my father David, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised. I have built the house for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
Therefore
now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take
heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
Therefore now, O LORD, God of Israel, keep for Your servant, my father David, what You promised when You said: ‘You will never fail to have a man to sit before Me on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants guard their way to walk before Me as you have done.’
And
now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be
verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.
And
now, O God of Israel, please
confirm what You promised to Your servant, my father David.
And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and
supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from
kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
Now when Solomon had finished praying this entire prayer and petition to the LORD, he got up before the altar of the LORD, where he had been
kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven.
And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
Now when Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and the royal palace, and had achieved all that he had desired to do,
And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king’s house,
Now at the end of the twenty years during which Solomon built these two houses, the house of the LORD and the royal palace,
(
Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with
cedar trees and
fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave
Hiram twenty cities in the land of
Galilee.
King Solomon gave twenty towns in the land of
Galilee to
Hiram king of Tyre, who had supplied him with
cedar and
cypress logs and gold for his every desire.
And when the queen of
Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.
Now when the queen of
Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with difficult questions.
Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred
threescore and six talents of gold.
The weight of gold that came to Solomon each year was 666 talents,
And the LORD was
angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
Now the LORD grew
angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.
And
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.
Now Jeroboam son of Nebat was an Ephraimite from Zeredah whose mother was a widow named Zeruah.
Jeroboam was a servant of Solomon, but he rebelled against the king,
And the man
Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was
industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
Now Jeroboam was a mighty man of
valor. So when Solomon noticed that the young man was
industrious, he put him in charge of the whole labor force of the house of Joseph.
And it came to pass at that time when
Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet
Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had
clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:
During that time, the prophet
Ahijah the Shilonite met
Jeroboam on the road as he was going out of Jerusalem.
Now Ahijah had
wrapped himself in a new
cloak, and the two of them were alone in the open field.
Thy father made our yoke
grievous:
now therefore make thou the
grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.
“Your father put a heavy yoke on us. But
now you should
lighten the burden of your father’s service and the heavy yoke he put on us, and we will serve you.”
And
now whereas my father did
lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath
chastised you with whips, but I will
chastise you with scorpions.
Whereas my father burdened you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke. Whereas my father
scourged you with whips, I will
scourge you with scorpions.’”
So when all Israel saw that the king
hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of
Jesse: to your tents, O Israel:
now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.
When all Israel saw that the king had refused to
listen to them, they answered the king: “What portion do we have in David, and what inheritance in the son of
Jesse? To your tents, O Israel! Look
now to your own house, O David!” So the Israelites went home,
And
Jeroboam said in his heart,
Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David:
Jeroboam said in his heart, “
Now the kingdom might
revert to the house of David.
And it came to pass, when king
Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had
cried against the altar in
Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.
Now when King
Jeroboam, who was at the altar in
Bethel, heard the word that the man of God had
cried out against it, he stretched out his hand and said, “Seize him!” But the hand he stretched out toward him
withered, so that he could not pull it back.
And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat
now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God
besought the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.
Then the king
responded to the man of God, “
Intercede with the LORD your God and pray that my hand may be restored.” So the man of God
interceded with the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored to him as it was before.
Now there dwelt an old prophet in
Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in
Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.
Now a certain old prophet was living in
Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the deeds that the man of God had done that day in
Bethel. They also told their father the words that the man had spoken to the king.
And
Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and
disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of
Jeroboam; and get thee to
Shiloh: behold, there is
Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.
And
Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to
Shiloh, and came to the house of
Ahijah. But
Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
Moreover the LORD shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of
Jeroboam that day: but what? even
now.
Moreover, the LORD will raise up for Himself a king over Israel who will cut off the house of
Jeroboam. This is the day—
yes, even
today!
Now the rest of the acts of
Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
As for the rest of the acts of
Rehoboam, along with all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
In the
eighteenth year of the reign of
Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam became king of Judah,
Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and
Jeroboam.
As for the rest of the acts of Abijam, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and
Jeroboam.
And there was war between
Asa and
Baasha king of Israel all their days.
Now there was war between
Asa and
Baasha king of Israel throughout their days.
There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with
Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
“Let there be a treaty between me and you, between my father and your father. See, I have sent you a gift of silver and gold.
Now go and break your treaty with
Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.”
The rest of all the acts of
Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
Now the rest of the acts of
Asa, along with all his might, all his accomplishments, and the cities he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? In his old age, however, he became diseased in his feet.
Now the rest of the acts of
Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
As for the rest of the acts of
Nadab, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
So
now I will
consume Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like that of
Jeroboam son of Nebat:
Now the rest of the acts of
Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
As for the rest of the acts of
Baasha, along with his accomplishments and might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
As for the rest of the acts of Elah, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
