And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied,
Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude
throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
“Who touched Me?” Jesus asked. But they all denied it. “Master,” said Peter, “the people are crowding and pressing against You.”
And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save
Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the
maiden.
When He entered the house, He did not allow
anyone to go in with Him except
Peter, John, James, and the child’s father and mother.
He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
“But what about you?” Jesus asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”
And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
About eight days after Jesus had said these things, He took with Him Peter, John, and James, and went up on a mountain to pray.
But
Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were
awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
Meanwhile
Peter and his companions were overcome by sleep, but when they
awoke, they saw Jesus’ glory and the two men standing with Him.
And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
As Moses and
Elijah were leaving,
Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for
Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)
While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
While
Peter was speaking, a cloud appeared and
enveloped them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.
Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
“Lord,” said
Peter, “are You addressing this parable to us, or to
everyone else as well?”
Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
“Look,” said Peter, “we have left all we had to follow You.”
And he sent
Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the
passover, that we may eat.
Jesus sent
Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare for us to eat the
Passover.”
And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
“Lord,” said Peter, “I am ready to go with You even to prison and to death.”
And he said, I tell thee,
Peter, the
cock shall not
crow this day, before that thou shalt
thrice deny that thou knowest me.
But Jesus replied, “I tell you,
Peter, the
rooster will not
crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.”
Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And
Peter followed
afar off.
Then they seized Jesus, led Him away, and took Him into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed at a distance.
And when they had
kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together,
Peter sat down among them.
When those present had
kindled a fire in the middle of the
courtyard and sat down together,
Peter sat down among them.
And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
But Peter denied it. “Woman, I do not know Him,” he said.
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
A short time later, someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.”
And
Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the
cock crew.
“Man, I do not know what you are talking about,”
Peter replied. While he was still speaking, the
rooster crowed.
And the Lord turned, and looked upon
Peter. And
Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the
cock crow, thou shalt deny me
thrice.
And the Lord turned and looked at
Peter. Then
Peter remembered the word that the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the
rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”
And
Peter went out, and
wept bitterly.
And he went outside and
wept bitterly.
Then arose
Peter, and ran unto the
sepulchre; and
stooping down, he
beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. And after bending down and seeing only the linen cloths, he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.
One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard John’s testimony and followed Jesus.
And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus
beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called
Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
Andrew brought him to Jesus, who looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called
Cephas” (which is translated as
Peter).
Now Philip was of
Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and
Peter.
Now Philip was from
Bethsaida, the same town as Andrew and
Peter.
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,
One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.
Then cometh he to Simon
Peter: and
Peter saith unto him, Lord,
dost thou wash my feet?
He came to Simon Peter, who asked Him, “Lord, are You going to wash my feet?”
Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
“Never shall You wash my feet!” Peter told Him. Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me.”
Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not only my feet, but my hands and my head as well!”
Simon
Peter therefore
beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
So Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus which one He was talking about.
Simon
Peter said unto him, Lord,
whither goest thou? Jesus answered him,
Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.
“Lord, where are You going?” Simon Peter asked. Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you cannot follow Me now, but you will follow later.”
Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.
“Lord,” said Peter, “why can’t I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You.”
Then Simon
Peter having a sword drew it, and
smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
Then Simon Peter drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
Then said Jesus unto
Peter, Put up thy sword into the
sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
“Put your sword back in its
sheath!” Jesus said to
Peter. “Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given Me?”
And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
Now Simon
Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Since that disciple was known to the high priest, he also went with Jesus into the
courtyard of the high priest.
But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
But
Peter stood outside at the door. Then the disciple who was known to the high priest went out and spoke to the
doorkeeper, and brought
Peter in.
Then saith the
damsel that kept the door unto
Peter, Art not thou also one of this man’s disciples? He saith, I am not.
At this, the servant
girl watching the door said to
Peter, “Aren’t you also one of this man’s disciples?” “I am not,” he answered.
And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
Because it was cold, the servants and officers were standing around a charcoal fire they had made to keep warm. And Peter was also standing with them, warming himself.
And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
Simon Peter was still standing and warming himself. So they asked him, “Aren’t you also one of His disciples?” He denied it and said, “I am not.”
One of the servants of the high priest, being his
kinsman whose ear
Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, “Didn’t I see you with Him in the garden?”
Peter then denied again: and immediately the
cock crew.
Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon
Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the
sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb,” she said, “and we do not know where they have put Him!”
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the
sepulchre.
Then Peter and the other disciple set out for the tomb.
So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun
Peter, and came first to the
sepulchre.
The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
Then cometh Simon
Peter following him, and went into the
sepulchre, and
seeth the linen clothes lie,
Simon Peter arrived just after him. He entered the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there.
There were together Simon
Peter, and Thomas called
Didymus, and
Nathanael of
Cana in
Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.
Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
Simon Peter told them, “I am going fishing.” “We will go with you,” they said. So they went out and got into the boat, but caught nothing that night.
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto
Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon
Peter heard that it was the Lord, he
girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to
Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon
Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it) and
jumped into the sea.
Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, and hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
So Simon
Peter went
aboard and
dragged the net
ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many, the net was not
torn.
So when they had
dined, Jesus saith to Simon
Peter, Simon, son of
Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him,
Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
When they had finished eating, Jesus asked Simon
Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love Me more than these?” “
Yes, Lord,” he answered, “You know I love You.” Jesus replied, “Feed My lambs.”
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of
Jonas, lovest thou me?
Peter was
grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Jesus asked a third time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?”
Peter was deeply
hurt that Jesus had asked him a third time, “Do you love Me?” “Lord, You know all things,” he replied. “You know I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
This spake he,
signifying by what death he should
glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which
Peter would
glorify God. And after He had said this, He told him, “Follow Me.”
Then
Peter, turning about,
seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also
leaned on his breast at
supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?
Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. He was the one who had
leaned back against Jesus at the
supper to ask, “Lord, who is going to
betray You?”
Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”
And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both
Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas,
Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and
Judas the brother of James.
When they arrived, they went to the upper room where they were staying:
Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas,
Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the
Zealot, and
Judas son of James.
And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (a gathering of about a hundred and twenty) and said,
But
Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and
hearken to my words:
Then
Peter stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice, and addressed the crowd: “Men of
Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and
listen carefully to my words.
Now when they heard this, they were
pricked in their heart, and said unto
Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Then
Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Peter replied, “
Repent and be
baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the
forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
One
afternoon Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Who seeing
Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an
alms.
When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.
And
Peter,
fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
Peter looked directly at him, as did John. “Look at us!” said Peter.
Then
Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth rise up and walk.
But
Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, get up and walk!”
And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and
ankle bones received strength.
Taking him by the right hand, Peter helped him up, and at once the man’s feet and ankles were made strong.
And as the
lame man which was
healed held
Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the
porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
While the man
clung to
Peter and John, all the people were
astonished and ran to them in the walkway called Solomon’s
Colonnade.
And when
Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why
marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or
holiness we had made this man to walk?
And when
Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why are you surprised by this? Why do you
stare at us as if by our own power or
godliness we had made this man walk?
And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the
Sadducees, came upon them,
While
Peter and John were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the
Sadducees came up to them,
And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now
eventide.
They seized
Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in
custody until the next day.
And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
They had Peter and John brought in and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people!
Now when they saw the boldness of
Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they
marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
When they saw the boldness of
Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they
marveled and took note that these men had been with Jesus.
But
Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to
hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
But
Peter and John replied, “Judge for
yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to
listen to you rather than God.
And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
On their release, Peter and John returned to their own people and reported everything that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
But
Peter said,
Ananias, why hath
Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Then
Peter said, “
Ananias, how is it that
Satan has filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and
withhold some of the proceeds from the land?
And
Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said,
Yea, for so much.
“Tell me,” said
Peter, “is this the price you and your husband got for the land?” “
Yes,” she answered, “that is the price.”
Then
Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to
tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
“How could you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord?” Peter replied. “Look, the feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.”
Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of
Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
But Peter and the other apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than men.
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
But
Peter replied, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could
buy the gift of God with money!
And they, when they had
testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the
Samaritans.
And after
Peter and John had
testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many of the
Samaritan villages.
And it came to pass, as
Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at
Lydda.
As
Peter traveled throughout the area, he went to visit the saints in
Lydda.
And
Peter said unto him,
Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
“
Aeneas,”
Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you! Get up and put away your mat.” Immediately
Aeneas got up,
And
forasmuch as
Lydda was
nigh to
Joppa, and the disciples had heard that
Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
Since
Lydda was near
Joppa, the disciples heard that
Peter was there and sent two men to
urge him, “Come to us without delay.”
Then
Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him
weeping, and
shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
So
Peter got up and went with them. On his arrival, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood around him,
weeping and showing him the tunics and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.
But
Peter put them all forth, and
kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw
Peter, she sat up.
Then
Peter sent them all out of the room. He
knelt down and prayed, and turning toward her body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and seeing
Peter, she sat up.
And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
Peter took her by the hand and helped her up. Then he called the saints and widows and presented her to them alive.
And
Peter stayed for several days in
Joppa with a
tanner named Simon.
And now send men to
Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose
surname is
Peter:
Now send men to
Joppa to call for a man named Simon who is called
Peter.
On the
morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew
nigh unto the city,
Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
The next day at about the sixth hour, as the men were approaching the city on their journey, Peter went up on the roof to pray.
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
Then a voice said to him: “Get up, Peter, kill and eat!”
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
“No, Lord!” Peter answered. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
Now while
Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from
Cornelius had made
enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
While
Peter was
puzzling over the meaning of the vision, the men sent by
Cornelius found Simon’s house and approached the gate.
And called, and asked whether Simon, which was
surnamed Peter, were
lodged there.
They called out to ask if Simon called Peter was staying there.
While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
As
Peter continued to
reflect on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.
Then
Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from
Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here am I, the one you are looking for. Why have you come?”
Then called he them in, and
lodged them. And on the
morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from
Joppa accompanied him.
So
Peter invited them in as his guests. And the next day he got ready and went with them, accompanied by some of the brothers from
Joppa.
And as
Peter was coming in,
Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
As
Peter was about to enter,
Cornelius met him and fell at his feet to worship him.
But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
But Peter helped him up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”
And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
As Peter talked with him, he went inside and found many people gathered together.
