besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that
she may be
healed; and
she shall live.
and
pleaded with Him
urgently, “My little daughter is near death. Please come and place Your hands on her, so that
she will be
healed and live.”
And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
She had borne much
agony under the care of many physicians and had spent all
she had, but to no
avail. Instead, her condition had only grown worse.
When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
When the woman heard about Jesus,
she came up through the crowd behind Him and touched His
cloak.
For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
For
she kept saying, “If only I touch His garments, I will be
healed.”
And
straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and
she felt in her body that
she was
healed of that plague.
But the woman fearing and
trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

she told Him the whole truth.
Immediately the

She was twelve years old, and at once they were utterly
astounded.
And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do
shew forth themselves in him.
Now King Herod heard about this, for Jesus’ name had become well known, and people were saying, “John the Baptist has risen from the dead! That is why
miraculous powers are at work in him.”
Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

grudge against John and wanted to kill him. But
she had been unable,
And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the
damsel, Ask of me
whatsoever thou
wilt, and I will give it thee.
When the daughter of Herodias came and danced,
she pleased Herod and his guests, and the king said to the
girl, “Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will give it to you.”
And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
Then she went out and asked her mother, “What should I request?” And her mother answered, “The head of John the Baptist.”
And
she came in
straightway with
haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
At once the
girl hurried back to the king with her request: “I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a
platter immediately.”
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with
compassion toward them, because they were as

When Jesus
stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, He had
compassion on them, because they were like
sheep without a
shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and
she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
Now
she was a Greek woman of Syrophoenician origin, and
she kept asking Jesus to drive the
demon out of her daughter.
And
she answered and said unto him,
Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
“
Yes, Lord,”
she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
And
she went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the
demon was gone.
And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for
Elijah.”

For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
For they all contributed out of their
surplus, but
she out of her poverty has put in all
she had to live on.”
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall
shew signs and wonders, to
seduce, if it were possible, even the
elect.
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders that would
deceive even the
elect, if that were possible.
And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
But Jesus said, “Leave her alone; why are you
bothering her?
She has done a beautiful deed to Me.
She has done what
she could to
anoint My body in advance of My burial.
Verily I say unto you,
Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that
she hath done shall be spoken of for a
memorial of her.
And truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached in all the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”

shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.
And he will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”

offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will
smite the
shepherd, and the
sheep shall be scattered.
Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written: ‘I will strike the
Shepherd, and the
sheep will be scattered.’
And when
she saw Peter warming himself,
she looked upon him, and said, And thou also
wast with Jesus of
Nazareth.
and saw him warming himself there.
She looked at Peter and said, “You also were with Jesus the
Nazarene.”
And
she went and told them that had been with him, as they
mourned and
wept.
She went and told those who had been with Him, who were
mourning and
weeping.
And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
And when they heard that Jesus was alive and she had seen Him, they did not believe it.
And the angel answering said unto him, I am
Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to
shew thee these
glad tidings.

Gabriel,” replied the angel. “I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.
And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and
hid herself five months, saying,
After these days, his wife Elizabeth became
pregnant and for five months remained in
seclusion.
She declared,
And when
she saw him,
she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of
salutation this should be.
Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of
greeting this might be.
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
Look, even Elizabeth your relative has conceived a son in her old age, and she who was called barren is in her sixth month.
And
she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy
womb.
In a loud voice
she exclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your
womb!
And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord’s word to her will be fulfilled.”
He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their hearts.
Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
When the time came for Elizabeth to have her child, she gave birth to a son.
And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had
shewed great mercy upon her; and they
rejoiced with her.
Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they
rejoiced with her.
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his
shewing unto Israel.
And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the wilderness until the time of his public appearance to Israel.

While they were there, the time came for her Child to be born.

shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And there were
shepherds residing in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the
shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto
Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the
shepherds said to one another, “Let us go to
Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the
shepherds.
And the
shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
The
shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, which was just as the angel had told them.
And there was one
Anna, a
prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser:
she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her
virginity;
There was also a
prophetess named
Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, who was well along in years.
She had been married for seven years,
And
she was a widow of about
fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.
And
she coming in that instant gave
thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for
redemption in Jerusalem.
Coming forward at that moment,
she gave
thanks to God and spoke about the Child to all who were waiting for the
redemption of Jerusalem.

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
Then the devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world.
And he stood over her, and
rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately
she arose and ministered unto them.
and He stood over her and
rebuked the fever, and it left her. And
she got up at once and began to serve them.
And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and
shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy
cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
“Do not tell
anyone,” Jesus
instructed him. “But go, show
yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your
cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the
shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
He entered the house of God, took the consecrated bread and gave it to his companions, and
ate what is lawful only for the priests to eat.”
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will
shew you to whom he is like:
I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them:
Now when he came
nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and
she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
Then John’s disciples informed him about all these things.
And stood at his feet behind him
weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did
wipe them with the hairs of her head, and
kissed his feet, and
anointed them with the
ointment.
As
she stood behind Him at His feet
weeping,
she began to wet His feet with her tears and
wipe them with her hair. Then
she kissed His feet and
anointed them with the
perfume.
Now when the
Pharisee which had
bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for
she is a
sinner.
When the
Pharisee who had invited Jesus saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, He would know who this is and what kind of woman is touching Him—for
she is a
sinner!”
And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but
she hath washed my feet with tears, and
wiped them with the hairs of her head.
And turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? When I entered your house, you did not give Me water for My feet, but
she wet My feet with her tears and
wiped them with her hair.
Thou gavest me no
kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to
kiss my feet.
You did not
greet Me with a
kiss, but
she has not stopped
kissing My feet since I arrived.
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are
forgiven; for
she loved much: but to whom little is
forgiven, the same loveth little.
Therefore I tell you, because her many sins have been
forgiven,
she has loved much. But he who has been
forgiven little loves little.”
And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and
shewing the
glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
Soon afterward, Jesus traveled from one town and village to another, preaching and
proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with Him,
Return to thine own house, and
shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
“Return home and describe how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and proclaimed all over the town how much Jesus had done for him.

And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be
healed of any,
including a woman who had suffered from
bleeding for twelve years.
She had spent all her money on physicians, but no one was able to
heal her.
Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood
stanched.
She came up behind Jesus and touched the
fringe of His
cloak, and immediately her
bleeding stopped.
And when the woman saw that
she was not
hid,
she came
trembling, and falling down before him,
she declared unto him before all the people for what cause
she had touched him and how
she was
healed immediately.
Then the woman, seeing that
she could not escape notice, came
trembling and fell down before Him. In the presence of all the people,
she explained why
she had touched Him and how
she had immediately been
healed.
But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; just believe, and
she will be
healed.”
And all
wept, and
bewailed her: but he said,
Weep not;
she is not dead, but sleepeth.
And they
laughed at Him, knowing that
she was dead.
And her spirit came again, and
she arose
straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
Her spirit returned, and at once she got up. And He directed that she be given something to eat.
And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
As Moses and
Elijah were leaving, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three
shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for
Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
“The one who showed him mercy,” replied the
expert in the law. Then Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet
listening to His message.
But
Martha was
cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord,
dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone?
bid her therefore that
she help me.
But
Martha was distracted by all the preparations to be made.
She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me!”
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and
condemn them: for
she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the men of this generation and
condemn them; for
she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.
That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
As a result, this generation will be charged with the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the foundation of the world,
And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of
infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
and a woman there had been disabled by a spirit for eighteen years.
She was
hunched over and could not stand up straight.
And he laid his hands on her: and immediately
she was made straight, and
glorified God.
So that servant came, and
shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being
angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in
hither the poor, and the
maimed, and the
halt, and the blind.
The servant returned and reported all this to his master. Then the owner of the house became
angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and
alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the
crippled, the blind, and the
lame.’
What man of you, having an hundred
sheep, if he lose one of them,
doth not leave the
ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
“What man among you, if he has a hundred
sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the
ninety-nine in the pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?
And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them,
Rejoice with me; for I have found my
sheep which was lost.
comes home, and calls together his friends and neighbors to tell them, ‘
Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost
sheep!’
Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if
she lose one piece,
doth not light a
candle, and
sweep the house, and seek
diligently till
she find it?
Or what woman who has ten silver coins and loses one of them does not light a lamp,
sweep her house, and search carefully until
she finds it?
And when
she hath found it,
she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying,
Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
And when
she finds it,
she calls together her friends and neighbors to say, ‘
Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost coin.’
But which of you, having a servant
plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
Which of you whose servant comes in from
plowing or
shepherding in the field will say to him, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?
And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go
shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were
cleansed.
When Jesus saw them, He said, “Go, show
yourselves to the priests.” And as they were on their way, they were
cleansed.
And there was a widow in that city; and
she came unto him, saying,
Avenge me of mine
adversary.
And there was a widow in that town who kept appealing to him, ‘Give me justice against my
adversary.’
Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will
avenge her, lest by her continual coming
she weary me.
yet because this widow keeps
pestering me, I will give her justice. Then
she will stop wearing me out with her perpetual requests.’”
“Show Me a
denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” “Caesar’s,” they answered.
Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
So then, in the resurrection, whose wife will she be? For all seven were married to her.”
Now that the dead are raised, even Moses
shewed at the
bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
Even Moses demonstrates that the dead are raised, in the passage about the burning
bush. For he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
