Then the man brought me through the entrance at the side of the gate into the holy chambers facing north, which belonged to the priests, and he showed me a place there at the far western end
Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine
iniquities by
shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a
lengthening of thy tranquility.
Therefore, may my advice be pleasing to you, O king. Break away from your sins by doing what is right, and from your
iniquities by
showing mercy to the
oppressed. Perhaps there will be an extension of your prosperity.”
Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.

Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be
grieved, and return, and have
indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that

rage against the holy covenant and do damage. So he will return and
show favor to those who
forsake the holy covenant.

magnify himself above them all.
Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an
adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

show love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an
adulteress. Love her as the LORD loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and offer
raisin cakes to idols.”
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

glad then, ye children of
Zion, and
rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

glad, O children of

rejoice in the LORD your God, for He has given you the autumn rains for your
vindication. He sends you
showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.

remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a
dew from the LORD, as the
showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.

dew from the LORD, like
showers on the grass, which do not wait for man or
linger for mankind.

doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk

humbly with your God?

show you favor?” asks the LORD of Hosts.

show you favor?” asks the LORD of Hosts.

shown partiality in matters of the law.”

show men they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.

forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into
hell;

But I will
show you whom you should fear: Fear the One who, after you have been killed, has authority to throw you into
hell.
Yes, I tell you, fear Him!
And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west,

And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go

shew him greater works than these, that ye may

amazement, He will
show Him even greater works than these.
For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things,

Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘
Show us the Father’?

weeping, and
shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

weeping and
showing him the tunics and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a
Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Jew to associate with a foreigner or visit him. But God has
shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not
show favoritism,
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
And God, who knows the heart,
showed His
approval by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as He did to us.
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
In everything, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus Himself: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
‘But get up and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you to
appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen from Me and what I will
show you.
And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they
kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
The islanders
showed us extraordinary kindness. They
kindled a fire and
welcomed all of us because it was raining and cold.
For there is no respect of persons with God.
Which
shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while
accusing or else
excusing one another;)
So they
show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts either
accusing or defending them
What if God, willing to
shew his wrath, and to make his power known,
endured with much
longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
What if God, intending to
show His wrath and make His power known, bore with great
patience the vessels of His wrath, prepared for destruction?
Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
so they too have now disobeyed, in order that they too may now receive mercy through the mercy shown to you.
For there must be also
heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
And indeed, there must be differences among you to show which of you are approved.
But
covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet
shew I unto you a more excellent way.
But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.
For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.
For they refreshed my spirit and yours as well.
Show your
appreciation, therefore, to such men.
Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons
thanks may be given by many on our behalf.
as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give
thanks on our behalf for the favor
shown us in answer to their prayers.
Now we have this
treasure in jars of clay to
show that this
surpassingly great power is from God and not from us.
And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:
More than that, this brother was chosen by the churches to
accompany us with the offering—the
gracious gift we
administer to honor the Lord Himself and to
show our eagerness to help.
Wherefore
shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our
boasting on your behalf.
In full view of the churches, then,
show these men the proof of your love and the reason for our
boasting about you.
For we
dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that
commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
We do not
dare to
classify or compare ourselves with some who
commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they
show their ignorance.
If I must
boast, I will
boast of the things that
show my weakness.
But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (
whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:
But as for the highly esteemed—whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not
show favoritism—those leaders added nothing to me.
But I
rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
Now I
rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have revived your
concern for me. You were indeed concerned, but you had no opportunity to
show it.
And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all
Macedonia: but we
beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
And you are indeed
showing this love to all the brothers throughout
Macedonia. But we
urge you, brothers, to
excel more and more
Who was before a
blasphemer, and a
persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
I was formerly a
blasphemer, a
persecutor, and a violent man; yet because I had acted in ignorance and unbelief, I was
shown mercy.
But for this very reason I was
shown mercy, so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His perfect
patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life.
But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to
shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to
show godliness to their own family and repay their parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God.
And they that have believing masters, let them not
despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and
exhort.
Those who have believing masters should not
show disrespect because they are brothers, but should serve them all the more, since those receiving their good service are beloved believers. Teach and
encourage these principles.
In everything,
show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching
show integrity, dignity,
not
stealing from them, but
showing all good faith, so that in every respect they will
adorn the teaching about God our
Savior.
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle,
shewing all
meekness unto all men.
to
malign no one, and to be peaceable and gentle,
showing full consideration to
everyone.
For God is not unrighteous to
forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
For God is not unjust. He will not
forget your work and the love you have
shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so.
And we desire that every one of you do
shew the same
diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
We want each of you to
show this same
diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.
Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was
admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
The place where they serve is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was
warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern
shown you on the mountain.”
The Holy Ghost this
signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
By this arrangement the Holy Spirit was showing that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing.
For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
Now those who say such things show that they are seeking a country of their own.
Be not
forgetful to
entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Do not neglect to
show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.
