anywhere on the plain!
Flee to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”
And it came to pass, when he saw the
earring and bracelets upon his sister’s hands, and when he heard the words of
Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.
As
soon as he saw the ring, and the bracelets on his sister’s wrists, and heard

morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal
deceitfully any more in not
letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.
“As

tomorrow the swarms of
flies will depart from Pharaoh and his officials and his people. But Pharaoh must not act
deceitfully again by refusing to let the people go and sacrifice to the LORD.”

soon as he came
nigh unto the camp, that he saw the

calf and the dancing, he burned with anger and threw the tablets out of his hands,
shattering them at the base of the mountain.
And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of
Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all their
equipment, as
soon as the camp is ready to move, the Kohathites shall come and do the carrying. But they must not touch the holy objects, or they will die. These are the
transportation duties of the Kohathites regarding the Tent of Meeting.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall
soon utterly perish from off the land
whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not
prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you this day that you will quickly perish from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. You will not live long upon it, but will be utterly destroyed.
And then the LORD’S wrath be
kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its produce, and you will
soon perish from the good land that the LORD is giving you.

And the LORD said to Moses, “You will
soon rest with your fathers, and these people will rise up and
prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will
forsake Me and break the covenant I have made with them.
And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.

spies along the road to the fords of the Jordan, and as
soon as they had gone out, the gate was shut.
And as
soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did
melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
When we heard this, our hearts melted and
everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the LORD your God is God in the heavens above and on the earth below.
And it shall come to pass, as
soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an
heap.
When the feet of the priests who carry the ark of the LORD—the Lord of all the earth—touch down in the waters of the Jordan, its flowing waters will be cut off and will stand up in a
heap.”
And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were
dipped in the
brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
Now the Jordan overflows its banks throughout the harvest season. But as soon as the priests carrying the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge,
And the
ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as

thereon a great
heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day.

Gideon made an
ephod thereof, and put it in his city, even in Ophrah: and all Israel went thither a
whoring after it: which thing became a
snare unto
Gideon, and to his house.

ephod, which he placed in Ophrah, his hometown. But
soon all Israel
prostituted themselves by worshiping it there, and it became a
snare to
Gideon and his household.
And it came to pass, as
soon as
Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a

soon as
Gideon was dead, the Israelites turned and
prostituted themselves with the Baals, and they set up
Baal-berith as their god.

tore his clothes and said, “No! Not my daughter! You have brought me to my knees! You have brought great misery upon me, for I have given my word to the LORD and cannot take it back.”
Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the
kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.

And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck
brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.
As
soon as the ark of God was mentioned,
Eli fell backward from his chair by the city gate, and being old and heavy, he broke his neck and died. And
Eli had judged Israel forty years.
As
soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall
straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he
doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be
bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.
As
soon as you enter the city, you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people will not eat until he comes, because he must
bless the sacrifice; after that, the guests will eat. Go up at once; you will find him.”

greet him.
And as
soon as the
lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they
kissed one another, and
wept one with another, until David exceeded.

Jonathan kissed each other and
wept together—though David
wept more.
When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him, (now Saul abode in Gibeah under a tree in

spear in hand and all his servants standing around him.
And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.

And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the
mulberry trees, that then thou shalt

bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel
today, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows
shamelessly uncovereth himself!
As
soon as David returned home to
bless his own household, Saul’s daughter Michal came out to meet him. “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself
today!” she said. “He has uncovered himself
today in the sight of the maidservants of his subjects, like a vulgar person would do.”
And it came to pass, as
soon as he had made an end of speaking, that, behold, the king’s sons came, and lifted up their voice and

smite the city with the edge of the sword.
And David said to all the servants with him in Jerusalem, “Arise and let us
flee, or we will not escape from
Absalom! We must leave quickly, or he will
soon overtake us,
heap disaster on us, and put the city to the sword.”

When he was removed out of the
highway, all the people went on after

And
Jeroboam’s wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and when she came to the

stepped over the
threshold of the house, the boy died.
And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he
smote all the house of
Jeroboam; he left not to
Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant
Ahijah the Shilonite:
As
soon as
Baasha became king, he struck down the entire household of
Jeroboam. He did not leave to
Jeroboam anyone that breathed, but destroyed them all according to the word that the LORD had spoken through His servant
Ahijah the Shilonite,
And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as
soon as he sat on his throne, that he
slew all the house of
Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
As
soon as Zimri began to reign and was seated on the throne, he struck down the entire household of
Baasha. He did not leave a single male, whether a
kinsman or friend.
And it shall come to pass, as
soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee
whither I know not; and so when I come and tell
Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall
slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.
I do not know where the Spirit of the LORD may carry you off when I leave you. Then when I go and tell
Ahab and he does not find you, he will kill me. But I, your servant, have feared the LORD from my youth.
Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as
soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall
slay thee. And as
soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and
slew him.
Then the prophet said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, as soon as you depart from me a lion will kill you.” And when he left, a lion found him and killed him.
But
Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so

thyself.

Now as
soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master’s sons are with you, and there are with you
chariots and horses, a
fenced city also, and armour;
“When this letter arrives, since your master’s sons are with you and you have
chariots and horses, a fortified city and
weaponry,
And it came to pass, as
soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that
Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and
slay them; let none come forth. And they
smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of
Baal.
When he had finished making the burnt offering,
Jehu said to the guards and officers, “Go in and kill them. Do not let
anyone out.” So the guards and officers put them to the sword, threw the bodies out, and went into the inner room of the temple of
Baal.
And it came to pass, as they were
burying a man, that, behold, they
spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the
sepulchre of
Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of
Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
Once, as the Israelites were
burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders, so they threw the man’s body into
Elisha’s tomb. And as
soon as his body touched the bones of
Elisha, the man was revived and stood up on his feet.
And it came to pass, as
soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he
slew his servants which had slain the king his father.
As
soon as the kingdom was firmly in his
grasp,
Amaziah executed the servants who had murdered his father the king.
And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the
mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to
smite the host of the Philistines.
As
soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the
balsam trees, move out to battle, because this will mean that God has marched out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some
deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of
Shishak.
When the LORD saw that they had humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them, but will
soon grant them
deliverance. My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through
Shishak.
And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide
thyself.

grasp,

And as
soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the
tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.
As
soon as the order went out, the Israelites generously provided the firstfruits of the grain, new wine, oil, and honey, and of all the produce of the field, and they brought in an abundance—a
tithe of everything.
And thou hast also appointed prophets to
preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying, There is a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.
and you have even appointed prophets in Jerusalem to
proclaim on your behalf: ‘There is a king in Judah.’
Soon these rumors will reach the ears of the king. So come, let us
confer together.”
But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore leftest thou them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and
cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and many times
didst thou deliver them according to thy
mercies;
But as
soon as they had rest, they again did evil in Your sight. So You abandoned them to the hands of their enemies, who had dominion over them. When they
cried out to You again, You heard from heaven, and You delivered them many times in Your
compassion.
Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.
As soon as the people heard this law, they excluded from Israel all of foreign descent.
And it was so, when the king saw
Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to
Esther the golden
sceptre that was in his hand. So
Esther drew near, and touched the top of the
sceptre.
As
soon as the king saw Queen
Esther standing in the court, she found favor in his sight. The king extended the gold
scepter in his hand toward
Esther, and she approached and touched the
tip of the
scepter.
Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the
banquet of wine; and
Haman was fallen upon the bed
whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered
Haman’s face.
Just as the king returned from the palace garden to the
banquet hall,
Haman was falling on the
couch where
Esther was
reclining. The king
exclaimed, “Would he actually
assault the queen while I am in the palace?” As
soon as the words had left the king’s mouth, they covered
Haman’s face.
And why
dost thou not
pardon my
transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.
Why do You not
pardon my
transgression and take away my iniquity? For
soon I will lie down in the dust; You will seek me, but I will be no more.”
For I know not to give
flattering titles; in so doing my maker would
soon take me away.
For I do not know how to
flatter, or my Maker would remove me in an instant.
As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.
When they hear me, they obey me; foreigners cower before me.
For they shall
soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green
herb.
For they wither quickly like grass and
wilt like tender plants.
Princes shall come out of Egypt;
Ethiopia shall
soon stretch out her hands unto God.
Envoys will arrive from Egypt;
Cush will stretch out her hands to God.
I should
soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their
adversaries.
how
soon I would
subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their foes!
The days of our years are
threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be
fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is
soon cut off, and we fly away.
The length of our days is seventy years— or eighty if we are strong— yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
Unless the LORD had been my helper, I would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.
They
soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
Yet they
soon forgot His works and failed to wait for His counsel.
Yea, they shall not be planted;
yea, they shall not be sown:
yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the
whirlwind shall take them away as
stubble.
No
sooner are they planted, no
sooner are they sown, no
sooner have their stems taken root in the ground, than He blows on them and they wither, and a
whirlwind sweeps them away like
stubble.
The
captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.
The
captive will
soon be freed; he will not die in the
dungeon, and his bread will not be lacking.
Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
This is what the LORD says: “Maintain justice and do what is right, for My salvation is coming soon, and My righteousness will be revealed.
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as
soon as
Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Who has heard of such as this? Who has seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be delivered in an instant? Yet as
soon as
Zion was in labor, she gave birth to her children.
Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.
and as
soon as he had finished telling all the people everything the LORD had commanded him to say, the priests and prophets and all the people seized him,
shouting, “You must surely die!
Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD;
Hearken not to the words of your prophets that
prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD’S house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they
prophesy a lie unto you.
Then I said to the priests and to all this people, “This is what the LORD says: Do not
listen to the words of your prophets who
prophesy to you, saying, ‘Look, very
soon now the articles from the house of the LORD will be brought back from Babylon.’ They are
prophesying to you a lie.
And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the
penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the
hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the
hearth.
And as
soon as Jehudi had read three or four columns,
Jehoiakim would cut them off with a
scribe’s knife and throw them into the
firepot, until the entire
scroll had been consumed by the fire.
Now will I shortly pour out my
fury upon thee, and
accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will
recompense thee for all thine abominations.
Very
soon I will pour out My wrath upon you and
vent My anger against you; I will judge you according to your ways and repay you for all your abominations.
Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou
wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.
And you not only walked in their ways and practiced their abominations, but
soon you were more
depraved than they were.
And as
soon as she saw them with her eyes, she
doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into
Chaldea.
At the sight of them, she
lusted for them and sent messengers to them in
Chaldea.
But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and bear fruit for My people Israel, for they will soon come home.
As
soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the golden statue that King
Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that
Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Therefore, as
soon as all the people heard the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, and all kinds of music, the people of every nation and language would fall down and worship the golden statue that King
Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and
dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
Now, if you are ready, as
soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the statue I have made. But if you refuse to worship, you will be thrown at once into the
blazing fiery furnace. Then what god will be able to deliver you from my hands?”
And whereas they commanded to leave the
stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
As for the command to leave the
stump of the tree with its roots, your kingdom will be restored to you as
soon as you acknowledge that Heaven rules.
Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
Soon, by his extraordinary spirit, Daniel distinguished himself among the administrators and satraps. So the king
planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
Then the king, when he heard these words, was
sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
As
soon as the king heard this, he was deeply distressed and set his mind on delivering Daniel, and he labored until
sundown to
rescue him.
And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his
posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be
plucked up, even for others beside those.
But as
soon as he is established, his kingdom will be broken up and
parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it have the authority with which he ruled, because his kingdom will be uprooted and given to others.
And the LORD said unto him, Call his name
Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will
avenge the blood of
Jezreel upon the house of
Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
Then the LORD said to
Hosea, “Name him
Jezreel, for
soon I will bring the
bloodshed of
Jezreel upon the house of
Jehu, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.
And Jesus, when he was
baptized, went up
straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a
dove, and lighting upon him:
As
soon as Jesus was
baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a
dove and resting on Him.
