And
Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-
hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was
told him, saying, The man of God is come
hither.
Then
Elisha came to Damascus while Ben-
hadad king of
Aram was sick, and the king was
told, “The man of God has come here.”
So he departed from
Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said
Elisha to thee? And he answered, He
told me that thou shouldest surely recover.
So
Hazael left
Elisha and went to his master, who asked him, “What did
Elisha say to you?” And he replied, “He
told me that you would surely recover.”
So there went one on
horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And
Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the
watchman told, saying, The
messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.
So a
horseman rode off to meet
Jehu and said, “This is what the king asks: ‘Have you come in peace?’” “What do you know about peace?”
Jehu replied. “Fall in behind me.” And the
watchman reported, “The
messenger reached them, but he is not coming back.”
And the
watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of
Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth
furiously.
Again the
watchman reported, “He reached them, but he is not coming back. And the
charioteer is driving like
Jehu son of Nimshi—he is driving like a
madman!”
Wherefore they came again, and
told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant
Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of
Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of
Jezebel:
So they went back and
told Jehu, who replied, “This is the word of the LORD, which He spoke through His servant
Elijah the Tishbite: ‘On the plot of ground at
Jezreel the dogs will
devour the flesh of
Jezebel.
And there came a
messenger, and
told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king’s sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.
When the
messenger arrived, he
told Jehu, “They have brought the heads of the sons of the king.” And
Jehu ordered, “Pile them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning.”
And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king’s
scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and
told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.
Whenever they saw that there was a large amount of money in the chest, the royal
scribe and the high priest would go up, count the money brought into the house of the LORD, and
tie it up in bags.
And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,
Then they would put the counted money into the hands of those who
supervised the work on the house of the LORD, who in turn would pay those doing the work—the carpenters, builders,
And
Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
Elisha told him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So Jehoash took a bow and some arrows.
For they served idols,
whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
They served idols, although the LORD had told them, “You shall not do this thing.”
Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the
scribe, and Joah the son of
Asaph the recorder, to
Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and
told him the words of
Rab-shakeh.
And Shaphan the
scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
Moreover, Shaphan the
scribe told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.
Then he said, What title is that that I see? And the men of the city
told him, It is the
sepulchre of the man of God, which came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that thou hast done against the altar of
Bethel.
Then the king asked, “What is this monument I see?” And the men of the city replied, “It is the tomb of the man of God who came from Judah and pronounced these things that you have done to the altar of
Bethel.”
And at
Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at
Tolad,
Now the sons of
Issachar were,
Tola, and Puah, Jashub, and Shimrom, four.
The sons of
Issachar:
Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron—four in all.
And the sons of
Tola; Uzzi, and Rephaiah, and Jeriel, and Jahmai, and Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father’s house, to wit, of
Tola: they were
valiant men of might in their generations; whose number was in the days of David two and twenty thousand and six hundred.
The sons of
Tola: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel, the heads of their families. In the days of David, 22,600 descendants of
Tola were numbered in their
genealogies as mighty men of
valor.
And David spake to the chief of the Levites to
appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick,
psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
David also
told the leaders of the Levites to
appoint their relatives as singers to lift up their voices with joy, accompanied by musical instruments—harps, lyres, and cymbals.
For thou, O my God, hast
told thy servant that thou
wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.
For You, my God, have revealed to Your servant that You will build a house for him. Therefore Your servant has found the courage to pray before You.
Then there went certain, and
told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly
ashamed. And the king said,
Tarry at
Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.
When someone came and
told David about his men, he sent messengers to meet them, since the men had been thoroughly
humiliated. The king
told them, “Stay in
Jericho until your beards have grown back, and then return.”
And it was
told David; and he gathered all Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came upon them, and set the battle in
array against them. So when David had put the battle in
array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
When this was reported to David, he gathered all Israel, crossed the Jordan, advanced toward the Arameans, and
arrayed for battle against them. When David lined up to
engage them in battle, they fought against him.
And Solomon
told out
threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and
fourscore thousand to
hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.
So he conscripted 70,000
porters, 80,000 stonecutters in the mountains, and 3,600 supervisors.
Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
There, before the ark, King Solomon and the whole congregation of Israel who had assembled with him sacrificed so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.
And Solomon
told her all her questions: and there was nothing
hid from Solomon which he
told her not.
And Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too difficult for him to explain.
Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not
told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.
But I did not believe the reports until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not half of the greatness of your wisdom was told to me. You have far exceeded the report I heard.
And at that time Hanani the
seer came to
Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast
relied on the king of Syria, and not
relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.
At that time Hanani the
seer came to King
Asa of Judah and
told him, “Because you have
relied on the king of
Aram and not on the LORD your God, the army of the king of
Aram has escaped from your hand.
Then there came some that
told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.
Then some men came and
told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from
Edom, from beyond the Sea; they are already in Hazazon-tamar” (that is, En-gedi).
And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed
thereon peace offerings and
thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.
Then he restored the altar of the LORD and sacrificed peace offerings and
thank offerings on it, and he
told Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.
Then Shaphan the
scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
Moreover, Shaphan the
scribe told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.
But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house
wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make
haste:
forbear thee from
meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.
But Neco sent messengers to him, saying, “What is the issue between you and me, O king of Judah? I have not come against you
today, but I am fighting another dynasty. God
told me to
hurry; so stop
opposing God, who is with me, or He will destroy you!”
Be it known now unto the king, that, if this city be builded, and the walls set up again, then will they not pay
toll, tribute, and custom, and so thou shalt
endamage the revenue of the kings.
Let it now be known to the king that if that city is rebuilt and its walls are restored, they will not pay tribute, duty, or
toll, and the royal treasury will suffer.
There have been mighty kings also over Jerusalem, which have ruled over all countries beyond the river; and
toll, tribute, and custom, was paid unto them.
And mighty kings have ruled over Jerusalem and exercised authority over the whole region west of the Euphrates; and tribute, duty, and
toll were paid to them.
Also we
certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers,
porters,
Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to
impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.
And be
advised that you have no authority to
impose tribute, duty, or
toll on any of the priests, Levites, singers, doorkeepers, temple servants, or other servants of this house of God.
And I sent them with commandment unto
Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I
told them what they should say unto
Iddo, and to his brethren the
Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.
And I sent them to
Iddo, the leader at Casiphia, with a message for him and his
kinsmen, the temple servants at Casiphia, that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.
For I was
ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and
horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that
forsake him.
For I was
ashamed to ask the king for an
escort of soldiers and
horsemen to protect us from our enemies on the road, since we had
told him, “The hand of our God is
gracious to all who seek Him, but His great anger is against all who
forsake Him.”
And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a
freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.
Then I
told them, “You are holy to the LORD, and these articles are holy. The silver and gold are a
freewill offering to the LORD, the God of your fathers.
And they said unto me, The
remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great
affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
And they
told me, “The
remnant who survived the exile are there in the province, in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.”
And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither
told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I
rode upon.
I set out at night with a few men. I did not tell
anyone what my God had laid on my heart to do for Jerusalem. The only animal with me was the one on which I was riding.
And the rulers knew not
whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet
told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.
The officials did not know where I had gone or what I was doing, for I had not yet told the Jews or priests or nobles or officials or any other workers.
Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.
I also
told them about the
gracious hand of my God upon me, and what the king had said to me. “Let us start rebuilding,” they replied, and they set their hands to this good work.
And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you.
At that time the Jews who lived nearby came and told us ten times over, “Wherever you turn, they will attack us.”
And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and
appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house.
And I
told them, “Do not open the gates of Jerusalem until the sun is hot. While the guards are on duty, keep the doors shut and securely fastened. And
appoint the residents of Jerusalem as guards, some at their posts and some at their own homes.”
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye
sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Then
Nehemiah told them, “Go and eat what is rich, drink what is sweet, and send out portions to those who have nothing prepared, since
today is holy to our Lord. Do not
grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their
thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst
sworn to give them.
In their hunger You gave them bread from heaven; in their
thirst You brought them water from the rock. You
told them to go in and possess the land which You had
sworn to give them.
Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.
You multiplied their descendants like the stars of heaven and brought them to the land You had told their fathers to enter and possess.
When
Mordecai learned of the plot, he reported it to Queen
Esther, and she informed the king on
Mordecai’s behalf.
Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he
hearkened not unto them, that they
told Haman, to see whether
Mordecai’s matters would stand: for he had
told them that he was a
Jew.
And
Haman said unto king
Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and
dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are
diverse from all people; neither keep they the king’s laws: therefore it is not for the king’s profit to suffer them.
Then
Haman informed King
Xerxes, “There is a certain people scattered and
dispersed among the peoples of every province of your kingdom. Their laws are different from
everyone else’s, and they do not obey the king’s laws. So it is not in the king’s best interest to
tolerate them.
When
Esther’s maidens and eunuchs came and
told her about
Mordecai, the queen was overcome with distress. She sent clothes for
Mordecai to wear instead of his
sackcloth, but he would not accept them.
And
Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that
Haman had promised to pay to the king’s
treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
and
Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, including the exact amount of money that
Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury in order to destroy the Jews.
And
Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.
Haman recounted to them his glorious wealth, his many sons, and all the ways the king had honored and promoted him over the other officials and servants.
His wife Zeresh and all his friends
told him, “Have them build a
gallows fifty cubits high, and ask the king in the morning to have
Mordecai hanged on it. Then go to the
banquet with the king and enjoy
yourself.” The advice pleased
Haman, and he had the
gallows constructed.
And it was found written, that
Mordecai had
told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king
Ahasuerus.
And there it was found recorded that
Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the eunuchs who guarded the king’s entrance, when they had
conspired to
assassinate King
Xerxes.
And
Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour,
And
Haman told the king, “For the man whom the king is delighted to honor,
And
Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had
befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If
Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.
Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had happened. His advisers and his wife Zeresh said to him, “Since
Mordecai, before whom your
downfall has begun, is Jewish, you will not prevail against him—for surely you will fall before him.”
On that day did the king
Ahasuerus give the house of
Haman the Jews’ enemy unto
Esther the queen. And
Mordecai came before the king; for
Esther had
told what he was unto her.
But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the
foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
“You speak as a
foolish woman speaks,” he
told her. “Should we accept from God only good and not
adversity?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
Which wise men have
told from their fathers, and have not
hid it:
what was declared by wise men and was not concealed from their fathers,
Who hath
enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
Who has appointed His way for Him, or told Him, ‘You have done wrong’?
Shall it be
told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be
swallowed up.
Should He be
told that I want to speak? Would a man ask to be
swallowed up?
So Eliphaz the Temanite and
Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.
So Eliphaz the Temanite,
Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the LORD had
told them; and the LORD accepted Job’s request.
We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have
told us, what work thou
didst in their days, in the times of old.
We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us the work You did in their days, in the days of old.
Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
that we have heard and known and our fathers have relayed to us.
For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we
spend our years as a tale that is
told.
For all our days decline in Your
fury; we finish our years with a
sigh.
Yea, though he live a thousand years twice
told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?
even if he lives a thousand years twice over but fails to enjoy his prosperity. Do not all go to the same place?
And it was
told the house of David, saying, Syria is
confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.
When it was reported to the house of David that
Aram was in league with Ephraim, the hearts of
Ahaz and his people
trembled like trees in the forest
shaken by the wind.
For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of
dew in the heat of harvest.
For this is what the LORD has
told me: “I will quietly look on from My dwelling place, like
shimmering heat in the
sunshine, like a cloud of
dew in the heat of harvest.”
Then came Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah, that was over the household, and Shebna the
scribe, and Joah, the son of
Asaph, the recorder, to
Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and
told him the words of
Rabshakeh.
Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the foundation of the earth?
Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I
told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me?
yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Do not
tremble or fear. Have I not
told you and declared it long ago? You are My witnesses! Is there any God but Me? There is no other Rock; I know not one.”
Tell ye, and bring them near;
yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath
told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
Speak up and present your case—
yes, let them take counsel together. Who
foretold this long ago? Who
announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, the LORD? There is no other God but Me, a righteous God and
Savior; there is none but Me.
For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None
seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath
perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.
You were secure in your wickedness; you said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and knowledge led you
astray; you
told yourself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me.’
But I will put it into the hand of them that
afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.
I will place it in the hands of your tormentors, who told you: ‘Lie down, so we can walk over you,’ so that you made your back like the ground, like a street to be traversed.”
So shall he
sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been
told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
so He will
sprinkle many nations. Kings will shut their mouths because of Him. For they will see what they have not been
told, and they will understand what they have not heard.
But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and
whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
But the LORD
told me: “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ For to
everyone I send you, you must go, and all that I command you, you must speak.
And the LORD said unto me, A
conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
And the LORD
told me, “There is a
conspiracy among the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem.
But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
But if you claim, ‘This is the burden of the LORD,’ then this is what the LORD says: Because you have said, ‘This is the burden of the LORD,’ and I specifically told you not to make this claim,
They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
The prophets
told you, ‘Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways and deeds, and you can dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and your fathers
forever and ever.
Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
Then the officials and all the people told the priests and prophets, “This man is not worthy of death, for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God!”
Micah the Morasthite
prophesied in the days of
Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts;
Zion shall be
plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
“
Micah the Moreshite
prophesied in the days of
Hezekiah king of Judah and
told all the people of Judah that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘
Zion will be
plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a
heap of
rubble, and the temple mount a wooded ridge.’
Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Go and speak to
Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:
The LORD, the God of Israel,
told Jeremiah to go and speak to
Zedekiah king of Judah and tell him that this is what the LORD says: “Behold, I am about to deliver this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it down.
And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the
scribe, and
told all the words in the ears of the king.
So the officials went to the king in the
courtyard. And having stored the
scroll in the chamber of Elishama the
scribe, they reported everything to the king.
Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.
When all the officials came to Jeremiah and questioned him, he relayed to them the exact words the king had commanded him to say. So they said no more to him, for no one had overheard the conversation.
And said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto whom ye sent me to present your
supplication before him;
Jeremiah told them, “Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your petition:
The LORD hath said concerning you, O ye
remnant of Judah; Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have
admonished you this day.
The LORD has
told you, O
remnant of Judah, ‘Do not go to Egypt.’ Know for sure that I have
warned you
today!
And now I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he hath sent me unto you.
For I have
told you
today, but you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God in all He has sent me to tell you.
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with
astonishment:
Then He
told me, “Son of man, I am going to cut off the supply of food in Jerusalem. They will anxiously eat bread rationed by weight, and in
despair they will drink water by measure.
Then said he unto me, Son of man,
dig now in the wall: and when I had
digged in the wall, behold a door.
“Son of man,” He
told me, “
dig through the wall.” So I
dug through the wall and discovered a
doorway.
He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
Again, He
told me, “You will see them
committing even greater abominations.”
And he said unto them,
Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and
slew in the city.
Then He
told them, “
Defile the temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go forth!” So they went out and began killing throughout the city.
And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.
And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me and told me to declare that this is what the LORD says: “That is what you are thinking, O house of Israel; and I know the thoughts that arise in your minds.
Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.
I told the exiles everything the LORD had shown me.
The altar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the table that is before the LORD.
There was an altar of wood three cubits high and two cubits square. Its corners, base, and sides were of wood. And the man told me, “This is the table that is before the LORD.”
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it
brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it
shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold, so the great God has
