Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.
So Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces disobeyed the command of the LORD to stay in the land of Judah.
So they came into the land of Egypt: for they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: thus came they even to Tahpanhes.
So they entered the land of Egypt because they did not obey the voice of the LORD, and they went as far as Tahpanhes.
Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have
sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the
voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his
testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.
Because you burned incense and
sinned against the LORD, and did not obey the
voice of the LORD or walk in His instruction, His statutes, and His
testimonies, this
disaster has
befallen you, as you see
today.”
The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
Egypt will hiss like a
fleeing serpent, for the enemy will advance in force; with axes they will come against her like
woodsmen cutting down trees.
A
voice of crying shall be from Horonaim,
spoiling and great destruction.
From the cry of
Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their
voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an
heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be
desolate.
There is a cry from
Heshbon to Elealeh; they raise their
voices to Jahaz, from Zoar to Horonaim and Eglath-shelishiyah; for even the waters of Nimrim have dried up.
The
voice of them that
flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in
Zion the
vengeance of the LORD our God, the
vengeance of his temple.
Listen to the fugitives and refugees from the land of Babylon, declaring in
Zion the
vengeance of the LORD our God, the
vengeance for His temple.
They shall hold the bow and the
lance: they are cruel, and will not
shew mercy: their
voice shall
roar like the sea, and they shall
ride upon horses, every one put in
array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.
They
grasp the bow and
spear; they are cruel and
merciless. Their
voice roars like the sea, and they
ride upon horses, lined up like men in formation against you, O Daughter of Babylon.
When he uttereth his
voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapors to
ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
When He thunders, the waters in the heavens
roar; He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the
lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
Because the LORD hath
spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great
voice; when her waves do
roar like great waters, a noise of their
voice is uttered:
For the LORD will destroy Babylon; He will silence her mighty
voice. The waves will
roar like great waters; the
tumult of their
voices will resound.
Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
You heard my
plea: “Do not
ignore my cry for relief.”
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the
voice of the
Almighty, the
voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings like the
roar of many waters, like the
voice of the
Almighty, like the
tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings.
And there was a
voice from the
firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
And there came a
voice from above the
expanse over their heads as they stood still with their wings lowered.
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
The appearance of the brilliant light all around Him was like that of a
rainbow in a cloud on a
rainy day. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell facedown and heard a
voice speaking.
Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a
voice of a great
rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.
Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard a great
rumbling sound behind me: ‘Blessed be the glory of the LORD in His dwelling place!’
Therefore will I also deal in
fury: mine eye shall not
spare, neither will I have
pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud
voice, yet will I not hear them.
Therefore I will
respond with wrath. I will not look on them with
pity, nor will I
spare them. Although they
shout loudly in My ears, I will not
listen to them.”
He
cried also in mine ears with a loud
voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
Then I heard Him call out in a loud voice, saying, “Draw near, O executioners of the city, each with a weapon of destruction in hand.”
And the sound of the cherubims’ wings was heard even to the outer court, as the
voice of the
Almighty God when he speaketh.
The sound of the wings of the
cherubim could be heard as far as the outer court, like the
voice of God
Almighty when He speaks.
And it came to pass, when I
prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and
cried with a loud
voice, and said,
Ah Lord GOD!
wilt thou make a full end of the
remnant of Israel?
Now as I was
prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and
cried out in a loud
voice, “Oh, Lord GOD, will You bring the
remnant of Israel to a complete end?”
And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
With hooks they
caged him and brought him to the king of Babylon. They brought him into captivity so that his
roar was heard no longer on the mountains of Israel.
At his right hand was the
divination for Jerusalem, to
appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the
voice with
shouting, to
appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.
In his right hand appears the
portent for Jerusalem, where he is to set up
battering rams, to call for the slaughter, to lift a battle cry, to direct the
battering rams against the gates, to build a
ramp, and to erect a siege wall.
And a
voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought
Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.
accompanied by the sound of a carefree crowd. Drunkards were brought in from the desert along with men from the
rabble, who put bracelets on your wrists and beautiful crowns on your head.
And shall cause their
voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall
wallow themselves in the ashes:
They will raise their voices for you and cry out bitterly. They will throw dust on their heads and roll in ashes.
And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
Indeed, you are to them like a singer of love songs with a beautiful
voice, who
skillfully plays an instrument. They hear your words but do not put them into practice.
And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his
voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth
shined with his glory.
and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His
voice was like the
roar of many waters, and the earth
shone with His glory.
He
cried aloud, and said thus,
Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches,
shake off his leaves, and
scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:
He called out in a loud
voice: ‘Cut down the tree and
chop off its branches; strip off its leaves and
scatter its fruit. Let the beasts
flee from under it, and the birds from its branches.
While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a
voice from heaven, saying, O king
Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
While the words were still in the king’s mouth, a
voice came from heaven: “It is decreed to you, King
Nebuchadnezzar, that the kingdom has departed from you.
And when he came to the den, he
cried with a
lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
When he reached the den, he
cried out in a
voice of
anguish, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
I
beheld then because of the
voice of the great words which the horn spake: I
beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
Then I kept watching because of the
arrogant words the horn was speaking. As I continued to watch, the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and thrown into the
blazing fire.
And I heard a man’s
voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said,
Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
And I heard the
voice of a man calling from between the banks of the Ulai: “
Gabriel, explain the vision to this man.”
Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God to walk in His laws, which He set before us through His servants the prophets.
Yea, all Israel have
transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy
voice; therefore the
curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have
sinned against him.
All Israel has
transgressed Your law and turned away, refusing to obey Your
voice; so the oath and the
curse written in the Law of Moses the servant of God has been poured out on us, because we have
sinned against You.
Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
Therefore the LORD has kept the
calamity in store and brought it upon us. For the LORD our God is righteous in all He does; yet we have not obeyed His
voice.
His body also was like the
beryl, and his face as the appearance of
lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the
voice of his words like the
voice of a multitude.
His body was like
beryl, his face like the brilliance of
lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the
gleam of polished bronze, and his
voice like the sound of a multitude.
Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
I heard the sound of his words, and as I
listened, I fell into a deep sleep, with my face to the ground.
And the LORD shall utter his
voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can
abide it?
The LORD raises His
voice in the presence of His army. Indeed, His camp is very large, for mighty are those who obey His command. For the Day of the LORD is great and very
dreadful. Who can
endure it?
The LORD also shall
roar out of
Zion, and utter his
voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall
shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
The LORD will
roar from
Zion and raise His
voice from Jerusalem; heaven and earth will
tremble. But the LORD will be a refuge for His people, a
stronghold for the people of Israel.
And he said, The LORD will
roar from
Zion, and utter his
voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the
shepherds shall
mourn, and the top of
Carmel shall wither.
saying: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From the
belly of
Sheol I called for help, and You heard my
voice.
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the
voice of
thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have
vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
But I, with the
voice of
thanksgiving, will sacrifice to You. I will
fulfill what I have
vowed. Salvation is from the LORD!”
Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise,
contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy
voice.
Hear now what the LORD says: “Arise,
plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your
voice.
The LORD’S voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
The
voice of the LORD calls out to the city (and it is sound wisdom to fear Your name): “
Heed the rod and the One who ordained it.
And Huzzab shall be led away
captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the
voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
It is decreed that the city be exiled and carried away; her maidservants
moan like doves, and beat upon their breasts.
Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her
chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall
devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the
voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
“Behold, I am against you,” declares the LORD of Hosts. “I will send your
chariots up in smoke, and the sword will
devour your young lions. I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the
voices of your messengers will no longer be heard.”
The mountains saw thee, and they
trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his
voice, and lifted up his hands on high.
The mountains saw You and
quaked; torrents of water swept by. The deep
roared with its
voice and lifted its hands on high.
When I heard, my
belly trembled; my lips
quivered at the
voice:
rottenness entered into my bones, and I
trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will
invade them with his troops.
I heard and
trembled within; my lips
quivered at the sound. Decay entered my bones; I
trembled where I stood. Yet I must wait patiently for the day of distress to come upon the people who
invade us.
The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
The great Day of the LORD is near— near and coming quickly.
Listen, the Day of the LORD! Then the cry of the mighty will be bitter.
And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the
cormorant and the
bittern shall
lodge in the upper lintels of it; their
voice shall sing in the windows;
desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the
cedar work.
She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
She
heeded no
voice; she accepted no correction. She does not trust in the LORD; she has not drawn near to her God.
Then
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the
remnant of the people, obeyed the
voice of the LORD their God, and the words of
Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
Then
Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as all the
remnant of the people, obeyed the
voice of the LORD their God and the words of the prophet
Haggai, because the LORD their God had sent him. So the people feared the LORD.
And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will
diligently obey the
voice of the LORD your God.
Even those far away will come and build the temple of the LORD, and you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you. This will happen if you
diligently obey the
voice of the LORD your God.”
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
And a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!”
He shall not
strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his
voice in the streets.
He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear His voice in the streets.
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud
enveloped them, and a
voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Listen to Him!”
And about the ninth hour Jesus
cried with a loud
voice, saying,
Eli,
Eli,
lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou
forsaken me?
About the ninth hour Jesus
cried out in a loud
voice, “
Eli,
Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You
forsaken Me?”
Jesus, when he had
cried again with a loud
voice, yielded up the ghost.
When Jesus had
cried out again in a loud
voice, He yielded up His spirit.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
And when the unclean spirit had
torn him, and
cried with a loud
voice, he came out of him.
At this, the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and came out with a loud
shriek.
And
cried with a loud
voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I
adjure thee by God, that thou
torment me not.
And he
shouted in a loud
voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I
beg You before God not to
torture me!”
And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
Then a cloud appeared and
enveloped them, and a
voice came from the cloud: “This is My beloved Son.
Listen to Him!”
And at the ninth hour Jesus
cried with a loud
voice, saying,
Eloi,
Eloi,
lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou
forsaken me?
At the ninth hour, Jesus
cried out in a loud
voice, “
Eloi,
Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You
forsaken Me?”
And Jesus
cried with a loud
voice, and gave up the ghost.
But Jesus let out a loud cry and breathed His last.
And she spake out with a loud
voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy
womb.
In a loud
voice she
exclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your
womb!
As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.
And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a
dove upon him, and a
voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a
dove. And a
voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
And in the
synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and
cried out with a loud
voice,
In the
synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean
demon. He
cried out in a loud
voice,
When he saw Jesus, he
cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud
voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I
beseech thee,
torment me not.
When the man saw Jesus, he
cried out and fell down before Him,
shouting in a loud
voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I
beg You not to
torture me!”
And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
And a
voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, whom I have chosen.
Listen to Him!”
And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
After the
voice had spoken, only Jesus was present with them. The disciples kept this to themselves, and in those days they did not tell
anyone what they had seen.
And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her
voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the
womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast
sucked.
As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd raised her
voice and said, “Blessed is the
womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that
nursed You!”
And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
and raised their
voices,
shouting, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
And one of them, when he saw that he was
healed, turned back, and with a loud
voice glorified God,
When one of them saw that he was
healed, he came back, praising God in a loud
voice.
And when he was come
nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to
rejoice and praise God with a loud
voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
And as He approached the descent from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of disciples began to praise God
joyfully in a loud
voice for all the miracles they had seen:
And they were instant with loud
voices, requiring that he might be
crucified. And the
voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
And when Jesus had
cried with a loud
voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I
commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last.
He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet: “I am a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
He that hath the
bride is the
bridegroom: but the friend of the
bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the
bridegroom’s
voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
The
bride belongs to the
bridegroom. The friend of the
bridegroom stands and listens for him, and is overjoyed to hear the
bridegroom’s
voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.
Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the
voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Truly, truly, I tell you, the hour is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his
voice,
Do not be
amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His
voice And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
And the Father who sent Me has Himself
testified about Me. You have never heard His
voice nor seen His form,
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried, saying, If any man
thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud
voice, “If
anyone is
thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep
listen for his
voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
When he has brought out all his own, he goes on
ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his
voice.
And a stranger will they not follow, but will
flee from him: for they know not the
voice of strangers.
But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will
flee from him because they do not recognize his
voice.”
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my
voice; and there shall be one fold, and one
shepherd.
I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will
listen to My
voice. Then there will be one flock and one
shepherd.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
My sheep
listen to My
voice; I know them, and they follow Me.
And when he thus had spoken, he
cried with a loud
voice,
Lazarus, come forth.
After Jesus had said this, He called out in a loud
voice, “
Lazarus, come out!”
Father,
glorify thy name. Then came there a
voice from heaven, saying, I have both
glorified it, and will
glorify it again.
Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
In
response, Jesus said, “This
voice was not for My benefit, but yours.
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my
voice.
“Then You are a king!”
Pilate said. “You say that I am a king,” Jesus answered. “For this reason I was born and have come into the world, to
testify to the truth.
Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to My
voice.”
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his
voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and
hearken to my words:
Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his
voice, and addressed the crowd: “Men of
Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and
listen carefully to my words.
And when they heard that, they lifted up their
voice to God with one
accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
When the believers heard this, they lifted up their
voices to God with one
accord. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “You made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them.
When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,
When Moses saw it, he
marveled at the sight. As he approached to look more closely, the
voice of the Lord came to him:
Then they
cried out with a loud
voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one
accord,
At this they covered their ears,
cried out in a loud
voice, and
rushed together at him.
And he
kneeled down, and
cried with a loud
voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell
asleep.
Falling on his knees, he
cried out in a loud
voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell
asleep.
