hearken to my
voice; and Israel would none of me.

listen to Me, and Israel would not obey Me.

voice,

harp; with the
harp, and the
voice of a
psalm.

groaning my flesh clings to my bones.

excel in strength, that do his commandments,
hearkening unto the
voice of his word.

hearken to the
voice of His command.

rebuke they fled; at the
voice of thy
thunder they hasted away.

listen to the
voice of the LORD.

valiantly.
Shouts of joy and salvation resound in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the LORD performs with
valor!
Hear my
voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O LORD,
quicken me according to thy judgment.
Hear my voice, O LORD, according to Your loving devotion; give me life according to Your justice.
Lord, hear my
voice: let thine ears be
attentive to the
voice of my supplications.

voice; let Your ears be
attentive to my
plea for mercy.

voice; with my

supplication.

aloud to the LORD; I lift my
voice to the LORD for mercy.
Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
Wisdom calls out in the street, she lifts her voice in the square;
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy
voice for understanding;
if you truly call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding,
And have not obeyed the
voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that
instructed me!
I did not
listen to the
voice of my teachers or
incline my ear to my mentors.

voice?
Does not wisdom call out, and understanding raise her voice?

voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a
curse to him.

dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

fool comes with many words.
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be
angry at thy
voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, and do not tell the
messenger that your
vow was a mistake. Why should God be
angry with your words and destroy the work of your hands?
Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and
curse not the rich in thy
bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the
voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.
Do not
curse the king even in your thoughts, or
curse the rich even in your
bedroom, for a bird of the air may carry your words, and a winged creature may report your speech.
And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the
grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the
voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;

faint,
The
voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh
leaping upon the mountains,
skipping upon the hills.

leaping across the mountains, bounding over the hills.

voice of the
turtle is heard in our land;

O my
dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy
voice; for sweet is thy
voice, and thy countenance is comely.
O my
dove in the clefts of the rock, in the crevices of the
cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your
voice; for your
voice is sweet, and your countenance is lovely.
I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the
voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my

undefiled: for my head is filled with
dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.

hearken to thy
voice: cause me to hear it.

banner upon the high mountain,

aloud to them. Wave your hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles.

Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their
voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be
grievous unto him.

voices are heard as far as Jahaz. Therefore the soldiers of Moab cry out; their souls
tremble within.

voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry
aloud from the sea.

voices, they
shout for joy; from the west they

voice;
hearken, and hear my speech.

voice. Pay attention and hear what I say.
And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy
voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall
whisper out of the dust.
You will be brought low, you will speak from the ground, and out of the dust your words will be
muffled. Your
voice will be like a spirit from the ground; your speech will
whisper out of the dust.
For the people shall dwell in
Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt
weep no more: he will be very
gracious unto thee at the
voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.

weep no more. He will surely be
gracious when you cry for help; when He hears, He will answer you.
And the LORD shall cause his glorious
voice to be heard, and shall
shew the lighting down of his arm, with the
indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a
devouring fire, with
scattering, and
tempest, and hailstones.

majestic voice to be heard and His mighty arm to be revealed, striking in
angry wrath with a flame of
consuming fire, and with cloudburst, storm, and hailstones.
For through the
voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which
smote with a rod.

voice of the LORD; He will strike them with His
scepter.
For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion
roaring on his prey, when a multitude of
shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their
voice, nor
abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount
Zion, and for the hill thereof.
For this is what the LORD has said to me: “Like a lion
roaring or a young lion over its prey— and though a band of
shepherds is called out against it, it is not
terrified by their
shouting or subdued by their
clamor— so the LORD of Hosts will come down to do battle on Mount
Zion and its heights.

tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of
thyself the nations were scattered.

Rabshakeh stood, and
cried with a loud
voice in the Jews’ language, and said, Hear ye the words of the great king, the king of Assyria.
Then the
Rabshakeh stood and called out loudly in Hebrew: “Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!
Whom hast thou reproached and
blasphemed? and against whom hast thou
exalted thy
voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
Whom have you
taunted and
blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your
voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
The
voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a
highway for our God.
A
voice of one calling: “Prepare the way for the LORD in the wilderness; make a straight
highway for our God in the desert.
The
voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the
goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
A voice says, “Cry out!” And I asked, “What should I cry out?” “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field.
O
Zion, that bringest good
tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good
tidings, lift up thy
voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
Go up on a high mountain, O
Zion,
herald of good news. Raise your
voice loudly, O Jerusalem,
herald of good news. Lift it up, do not be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
He will not cry out or raise His voice, nor make His voice heard in the streets.
Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their
voice, the villages that
Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them
shout from the top of the mountains.
Let the desert and its cities raise their
voices; let the villages of
Kedar cry
aloud. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them cry out from the mountaintops.
Go ye forth of Babylon,
flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a
voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
Leave Babylon!
Flee from the Chaldeans! Declare it with a
shout of joy,
proclaim it, let it go out to the ends of the earth, saying, “The LORD has redeemed His servant Jacob!”
Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the
voice of His Servant? Who among you walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD; let him
lean on his God.
For the LORD shall comfort
Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like
Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and
gladness shall be found therein,
thanksgiving, and the
voice of
melody.
Thy
watchmen shall lift up the
voice; with the
voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again
Zion.
Listen! Your
watchmen lift up their
voices, together they
shout for joy. For every eye will see when the LORD returns to
Zion.
“Cry
aloud, do not hold back! Raise your
voice like a ram’s horn. Declare to My people their
transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins.
Behold, ye fast for
strife and
debate, and to
smite with the
fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your
voice to be heard on high.
And I will
rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the
voice of
weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the
voice of crying.
I will
rejoice in Jerusalem and take delight in My people. The sounds of
weeping and crying will no longer be heard in her.
A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
Hear the
uproar from the city;
listen to the
voice from the temple! It is the
voice of the LORD, repaying His enemies what they deserve!
The young lions
roared upon him, and
yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
The young lions have
roared at him; they have
growled with a loud
voice. They have laid waste his land; his cities lie in ruins, without inhabitant.
Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast
transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my
voice, saith the LORD.
Only acknowledge your guilt, that you have rebelled against the LORD your God. You have scattered your favors to foreign gods under every green tree and have not obeyed My voice,’” declares the LORD.
A
voice was heard upon the high places,
weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have
perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
A
voice is heard on the barren heights, the children of Israel
weeping and
begging for mercy, because they have
perverted their ways and forgotten the LORD their God.
We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have
sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the
voice of the LORD our God.
Let us lie down in our shame; let our disgrace cover us. We have
sinned against the LORD our God, both we and our fathers; from our youth even to this day we have not obeyed the
voice of the LORD our God.”
For a
voice declareth from
Dan, and publisheth
affliction from mount Ephraim.
Make ye mention to the nations; behold,
publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their
voice against the cities of Judah.
Warn the nations now!
Proclaim to Jerusalem: “A
besieging army comes from a distant land; they raise their
voices against the cities of Judah.
For I have heard a
voice as of a woman in
travail, and the
anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the
voice of the daughter of
Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying,
Woe is me now! for my soul is
wearied because of murderers.
For I hear a cry like a woman in labor, a cry of
anguish like one bearing her first child— the cry of the Daughter of
Zion gasping for breath, stretching out her hands to say, “
Woe is me, for my soul
faints before the murderers!”
They shall lay hold on bow and
spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their
voice roareth like the sea; and they
ride upon horses, set in
array as men for war against thee, O daughter of
Zion.
They
grasp the bow and
spear; they are cruel and
merciless. Their
voice roars like the sea, and they
ride upon horses, lined up like men in formation against you, O Daughter of
Zion.”
But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
but this is what I commanded them: Obey Me, and I will be your God, and you will be My people. You must walk in all the ways I have commanded you, so that it may go well with you.
But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Therefore you must say to them, ‘This is the nation that would not
listen to the
voice of the LORD their God and would not receive correction. Truth has perished; it has disappeared from their lips.
Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the
voice of
mirth, and the
voice of
gladness, the
voice of the
bridegroom, and the
voice of the
bride: for the land shall be
desolate.
I will remove from the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem the sounds of joy and
gladness and the
voices of the
bride and
bridegroom, for the land will become a wasteland.”
Behold the
voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in
Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they
provoked me to anger with their
graven images, and with strange
vanities?
Listen to the cry of the daughter of my people from a land far away: “Is the LORD no longer in
Zion? Is her King no longer there?” “Why have they
provoked Me to anger with their carved images, with their worthless foreign idols?”
For the mountains will I take up a
weeping and
wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a
lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the
voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
I will take up a
weeping and
wailing for the mountains, a
dirge over the wilderness pasture, for they have been
scorched so no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. Both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled; they have gone away.
And the LORD saith, Because they have
forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my
voice, neither walked therein;
And the LORD answered, “It is because they have
forsaken My law, which I set before them; they have not walked in it or obeyed My
voice.
For a
voice of
wailing is heard out of
Zion, How are we
spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have
forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.
For the sound of
wailing is heard from
Zion: ‘How
devastated we are! How great is our shame! For we have abandoned the land because our dwellings have been
torn down.’”
When he uttereth his
voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapors to
ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
When He thunders, the waters in the heavens
roar; He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the
lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
which I commanded your forefathers when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, ‘Obey Me, and do everything I command you, and you will be My people, and I will be your God.’
For I earnestly
protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and
protesting, saying, Obey my
voice.
For from the time I brought your fathers out of the land of Egypt until
today, I strongly
warned them again and again, saying, ‘Obey My
voice.’
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the
voice of
mirth, and the
voice of
gladness, the
voice of the
bridegroom, and the
voice of the
bride.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: I am going to remove from this place, before your very eyes and in your days, the sounds of joy and
gladness, the
voices of the
bride and
bridegroom.
If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my
voice, then I will
repent of the good,
wherewith I said I would benefit them.
and if it does evil in My sight and does not
listen to My
voice, then I will relent of the good I had intended for it.
Attend to me, O LORD. Hear what my accusers are saying!
Go up to
Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy
voice in
Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.
Go up to
Lebanon and cry out; raise your
voice in
Bashan; cry out from Abarim, for all your lovers have been
crushed.
I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.
I
warned you when you were secure. You said, ‘I will not
listen.’ This has been your way from youth, that you have not obeyed My
voice.
Moreover I will take from them the
voice of
mirth, and the
voice of
gladness, the
voice of the
bridegroom, and the
voice of the
bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the
candle.
Moreover, I will
banish from them the sounds of joy and
gladness, the
voices of the
bride and
bridegroom, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
Therefore
prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall
roar from on high, and utter his
voice from his holy
habitation; he shall
mightily roar upon his
habitation; he shall give a
shout, as they that
tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
So you are to
prophesy all these words against them and say to them: ‘The LORD will
roar from on high; He will raise His
voice from His holy
habitation. He will
roar loudly over His pasture; like those who
tread the grapes, He will call out with a
shout against all the inhabitants of the earth.
A
voice of the cry of the
shepherds, and an
howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath
spoiled their pasture.
Hear the cry of the
shepherds, the
wailing of the leaders of the flock, for the LORD is destroying their pasture.
Therefore now
amend your ways and your doings, and obey the
voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will
repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
So now, correct your ways and deeds, and obey the
voice of the LORD your God, so that He might relent of the
disaster He has pronounced against you.
For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a
voice of
trembling, of fear, and not of peace.
Yes, this is what the LORD says: “A cry of
panic is heard— a cry of terror, not of peace.
And out of them shall proceed
thanksgiving and the
voice of them that make
merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also
glorify them, and they shall not be small.
Thanksgiving will proceed from them, a sound of
celebration. I will multiply them, and they will not be decreased; I will honor them, and they will not be
belittled.
Thus saith the LORD; A
voice was heard in
Ramah,
lamentation, and bitter
weeping;
Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
This is what the LORD says: “A
voice is heard in
Ramah,
mourning and great
weeping,
Rachel weeping for her children, and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”
Thus saith the LORD;
Refrain thy
voice from
weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
This is what the LORD says: “Keep your
voice from
weeping and your eyes from tears, for the reward for your work will come, declares the LORD. Then your children will return from the land of the enemy.
And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:
They came in and possessed it, but they did not obey Your
voice or walk in Your law. They failed to perform all that You commanded them to do, and so You have brought upon them all this
disaster.
The
voice of joy, and the
voice of
gladness, the
voice of the
bridegroom, and the
voice of the
bride, the
voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.
the sounds of joy and
gladness, the
voices of the
bride and
bridegroom, and the
voices of those bringing
thank offerings into the house of the LORD, saying: ‘Give
thanks to the LORD of Hosts, for the LORD is good; His loving devotion endures
forever.’ For I will restore the land from captivity as in former times, says the LORD.
Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
And we have obeyed the
voice of our
forefather Jonadab son of Rechab in all he commanded us. So we have not
drunk wine all our lives—neither we nor our wives nor our sons and daughters.
But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I
beseech thee, the
voice of the LORD, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.
“They will not hand you over,” Jeremiah replied. “Obey the voice of the LORD in what I am telling you, that it may go well with you and you may live.
Now the LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have
sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his
voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
and now the LORD has fulfilled it; He has done just as He said. Because you people have
sinned against the LORD and have not obeyed His
voice, this thing has happened to you.
Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.
Whether it is pleasant or unpleasant, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God to whom we are sending you, so that it may go well with us, for we will obey the voice of the LORD our God!”
But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,
But if you say, ‘We will not stay in this land,’ and you thus disobey the voice of the LORD your God,
And now I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he hath sent me unto you.
For I have told you
today, but you have not obeyed the
voice of the LORD your God in all He has sent me to tell you.
