If a man on the sabbath day receive
circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye
angry at me, because I have made a man every
whit whole on the sabbath day?
If a boy can be
circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses will not be broken, why are you
angry with Me for making the
whole man well on the Sabbath?
Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
You do not
realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the
whole nation perish.”

companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the
impotent man, by what means he is made
whole;
If we are being examined
today about a kind service to a man who was
lame, to determine how he was
healed,
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, whom ye
crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him
doth this man stand here before you
whole.

crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you
healed.

Timon, and Parmenas, and
Nicolas a

Timon, Parmenas, and
Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to
Judaism.

whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

Cornelius the
centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was
warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
“
Cornelius the
centurion has sent us,” they said. “He is a righteous and God-fearing man with a good reputation among the
whole Jewish nation. A holy angel
instructed him to request your presence in his home so he could hear a message from you.”
But Peter
rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and
expounded it by order unto them, saying,

whole sequence of events:

And there stood up one of them named
Agabus, and
signified by the spirit that there should be great
dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of
Claudius Caesar.
One of them named
Agabus stood up and
predicted through the Spirit that a great famine would
sweep across the
whole world. (This happened under
Claudius.)

Paphos, they found a certain

whole island as far as
Paphos, where they found a Jewish

audience to
Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

whole church, decided to select men from among them to send to Antioch with Paul and
Barnabas. They chose
Judas called Barsabbas and
Silas, two leaders among the brothers,
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their
habitation;
From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands.

synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the
Corinthians hearing believed, and were

Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
And you can see and hear that not only in Ephesus, but in nearly the whole province of Asia, Paul has persuaded a great number of people to turn away. He says that man-made gods are no gods at all.
So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at
nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess
Diana should be
despised, and her
magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
There is danger not only that our business will fall into
disrepute, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited and her majesty
deposed—she who is worshiped by all the province of Asia and the
whole world.”
And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,
When they came to him, he said, “You know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I arrived in the province of Asia.
For I have not
shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
For I did not
shrink back from declaring to you the
whole will of God.
And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple,
stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
When the seven days were almost over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They
stirred up the
whole crowd and seized him,
And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and
forthwith the doors were shut.
The
whole city was
stirred up, and the people
rushed together. They seized Paul and
dragged him out of the temple, and at once the gates were shut.
As also the high priest
doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
as the high priest and the
whole Council can
testify about me. I even obtained letters from them to their brothers in Damascus, and I was on my way to
apprehend these people and bring them to Jerusalem to be punished.
On the
morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.
The next day the commander, wanting to learn the real reason Paul was accused by the Jews, released him and ordered the chief priests and the
whole Sanhedrin to
assemble. Then he brought Paul down and had him stand before them.
And
Festus said, King
Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and also here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.
Then
Festus said, “King
Agrippa and all who are present with us, you see this man. The
whole Jewish community has petitioned me about him, both here and in Jerusalem, crying out that he ought not to live any longer.
And Paul dwelt two
whole years in his own
hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
Paul stayed there two full years in his own rented house,
welcoming all who came to visit him.
First, I
thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the
whole world.
First, I
thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being proclaimed all over the world.
Now we know that what things
soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
But God be
thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
But
thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you
wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed.
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
We know that the
whole creation has been
groaning together in the pains of
childbirth until the present time.
For if the firstfruit be holy, the
lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
If the first part of the
dough is holy, so is the
whole batch; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
Gaius mine host, and of the
whole church, saluteth you.
Erastus the
chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother.
Gaius, who has hosted me and all the church, sends you greetings.
Erastus, the city
treasurer, sends you greetings, as does our brother Quartus.
For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a
spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
For it seems to me that God has displayed us apostles at the end of the
procession, like prisoners appointed for death. We have become a
spectacle to the
whole world, to angels as well as to men.
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little
leaven leaveneth the
whole lump?
If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
If therefore the
whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are
mad?
So if the
whole church comes together and
everyone speaks in tongues, and some who are
uninstructed or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds?
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
In Him the whole building is fitted together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord.
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
From whom the
whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the
effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the
edifying of itself in love.
From Him the
whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting
ligament, grows and builds itself up in love through the work of each individual part.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Put on the full
armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Wherefore take unto you the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Therefore take up the full
armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.
So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;
As a result, it has become clear throughout the
whole palace guard and to
everyone else that I am in chains for Christ.
And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having
nourishment ministered, and
knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
He has lost connection to the head, from whom the
whole body, supported and
knit together by its joints and ligaments, grows as God causes it to grow.
Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,
And the very God of peace
sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your
whole spirit and soul and body be preserved
blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now may the God of peace Himself
sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept
blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to
wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to
godliness;
If
anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching,
Whose mouths must be stopped, who
subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for
filthy lucre’s sake.
who must be silenced. For the sake of dishonorable gain, they undermine entire households and teach things they should not.
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be
ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
and
wholesome speech that is above reproach, so that
anyone who opposes us will be
ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.
For
whosoever shall keep the
whole law, and yet
offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Whoever keeps the
whole law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
For in many things we
offend all. If any man
offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to
bridle the
whole body.
We all
stumble in many ways. If
anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to control his
whole body.
Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can guide the whole animal.
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the
whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of
hell.
The tongue also is a fire, a world of wickedness among the parts of the body. It pollutes the
whole person, sets the course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by
hell.
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I
stir up your pure minds by way of
remembrance:
Beloved, this is now my second letter to you. Both of them are reminders to
stir you to
wholesome thinking
And he is the
propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the
whole world.
He Himself is the
atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the
whole world.
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
We know that we are of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
Because thou hast kept the word of my
patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of
temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Because you have kept My command to
persevere, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the
whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
And I
beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great
earthquake; and the sun became black as
sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
And when I saw the Lamb open the sixth seal, there was a great
earthquake, and the sun became black like
sackcloth of goat hair, and the
whole moon turned blood red,
And the great
dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and
Satan, which deceiveth the
whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And the great
dragon was
hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil and
Satan, the
deceiver of the
whole world. He was
hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was
healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
One of the heads of the beast appeared to be
mortally wounded. But the
mortal wound was
healed, and the
whole world
marveled and followed the beast.
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the
whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God
Almighty.
These are
demonic spirits that perform signs and go out to all the kings of the earth, to
assemble them for battle on the great day of God the
Almighty.
Until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths, the
whole time of her
desolation shall she rest, until the full term of seventy years.
Saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of the Persians; The Lord of Israel, the most high Lord, hath made me king of the whole world,
I have commanded also to have it built up
whole again; and that they look
diligently to help those that be of the captivity of the Jews, till the house of the Lord be finished:
Then
cried the
whole multitude, and said with a loud voice, Like as thou hast spoken, so will we do.
And the
whole multitude came together with one
accord into the broad place of the holy
porch toward the east:
So
Esdras the chief priest brought the law unto the
whole multitude from man to woman, and to all the priests, to hear law in the first day of the seventh month.
And bowing the heavens, thou
didst set fast the earth, movedst the
whole world, and madest the depths to
tremble, and troubledst the men of that age.
And of all lands of the
whole world thou hast chosen thee one pit: and of all the flowers thereof one
lily:
For now the most High
seeth that thou art
grieved unfeignedly, and sufferest from thy
whole heart for her, so hath he shewed thee the brightness of her glory, and the
comeliness of her beauty:
But this head put the
whole earth in fear, and bare rule in it over all those that dwelt upon the earth with much oppression; and it had the
governance of the world more than all the wings that had been.
And the fourth came, and overcame all the beasts that were past, and had power over the world with great
fearfulness, and over the
whole compass of the earth with much wicked oppression; and so long time dwelt he upon the earth with
deceit.
And I saw, and, behold, they appeared no more, and the
whole body of the eagle was burnt so that the earth was in great fear: then
awaked I out of the trouble and
trance of my mind, and from great fear, and said unto my spirit,
And that he held neither sword, nor any instrument of war, but that the
rushing in of him destroyed the
whole multitude that came to
subdue him; this is the interpretation:
For wickedness hath exceedingly
polluted the
whole earth, and their
hurtful works are fulfilled.
For now are the plagues come upon the
whole earth and ye shall remain in them: for God shall not deliver you, because ye have
sinned against him.
But she said, Hold thy peace, and
deceive me not; my son is dead. And she went out every day into the way which they went, and did eat no meat on the
daytime, and ceased not
whole nights to
bewail her son Tobias, until the fourteen days of the
wedding were
expired, which Raguel had
sworn that he should
spend there. Then Tobias said to Raguel, Let me go, for my father and my mother look no more to see me.
For he hath brought me again to thee in safety, and made
whole my wife, and brought me the money, and likewise
healed thee.
If ye turn to him with your
whole heart, and with your
whole mind, and deal uprightly before him, then will he turn unto you, and will not hide his face from you. Therefore see what he will do with you, and
confess him with your
whole mouth, and praise the Lord of might, and
extol the
everlasting King. In the land of my captivity do I praise him, and declare his might and majesty to a sinful nation. O ye sinners, turn and do justice before him: who can tell if he will accept you, and have mercy on you?
So he called unto him all his officers, and all his nobles, and communicated with them his secret counsel, and concluded the
afflicting of the
whole earth out of his own mouth.
Thus saith the great king, the lord of the
whole earth, Behold, thou shalt go forth from my presence, and take with thee men that trust in their own strength, of
footmen an hundred and twenty thousand; and the number of horses with their riders twelve thousand.
And thou shalt declare unto that they prepare for me earth and water: for I will go forth in my wrath against them and will cover the
whole face of the earth with the feet of mine army, and I will give them for a
spoil unto them:
And he pitched between Geba and Scythopolis, and there he
tarried a
whole month, that he might gather together all the carriages of his army.
Then the children of
Esau went up with the children of
Ammon, and camped in the hill country over against Dothaim: and they sent some of them toward the south, and toward the east over against Ekrebel, which is near unto Chusi, that is upon the
brook Mochmur; and the rest of the army of the Assyrians camped in the plain, and covered the face of the
whole land; and their tents and carriages were pitched to a very great multitude.
Now therefore call them unto you, and deliver the
whole city for a
spoil to the people of Holofernes, and to all his army.
And they wondered at her beauty, and
admired the children of Israel because of her, and every one said to his neighbour, Who would
despise this people, that have among them such women? surely it is not good that one man of them be left who being let go might
deceive the
whole earth.
And now thou art both beautiful in thy countenance, and
witty in thy words: surely if thou do as thou hast spoken thy God shall be my God, and thou shalt dwell in the house of king Nabuchodonosor, and shalt be
renowned through the
whole earth.
And the whole righteous nation was troubled, fearing their own evils, and were ready to perish.
After that I became lord over many nations and had dominion over the
whole world, not lifted up with
presumption of my authority, but carrying myself always with
equity and mildness, I purposed to settle my subjects continually in a quiet life, and making my kingdom peaceable, and open for passage to the utmost coasts, to renew peace, which is desired of all men.
Saying, O Lord, Lord, the King
Almighty: for the
whole world is in thy power, and if thou hast appointed to save Israel, there is no man that can
gainsay thee:
Having by
manifold and
cunning deceits sought of us the destruction, as well of Mardocheus, who saved our life, and continually procured our good, as also of
blameless Esther,
partaker of our kingdom, with their
whole nation.
