sworn it with all their heart. They had sought Him earnestly, and He was found by them. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.
For the eyes of the LORD run to and
fro throughout the
whole earth, to
shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
Herein thou hast done
foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

roam to and
fro over all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him. You have acted
foolishly in this matter. From now on, therefore, you will be at war.”

Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take
heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the

shook my
lap, and said, So God
shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he

scorn to lay hands on
Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of
Mordecai: wherefore
Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the
whole kingdom of
Ahasuerus, even the people of
Mordecai.

Mordecai’s people, he
scorned the notion of laying hands on

Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the kingdom of
Xerxes.

sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make
whole.

He directeth it under the
whole heaven, and his
lightning unto the ends of the earth.

swallow them up alive as the grave; and
whole, as those that go down into the pit:

deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the
whole congregation.

deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: Fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the whole duty of man.
Why should ye be
stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the
whole head is sick, and the
whole heart
faint.
Why do you want more beatings? Why do you keep rebelling? Your head has a massive wound, and your
whole heart is
afflicted.
For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts,
doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the
whole stay of bread, and the
whole stay of water,
For behold, the Lord GOD of Hosts is about to remove from Jerusalem and Judah both supply and support: the whole supply of food and water,
And one
cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his
whole work upon mount
Zion and on Jerusalem, I will
punish the fruit of the
stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
So when the Lord has completed all His work against Mount
Zion and Jerusalem, He will say, “I will
punish the king of Assyria for the fruit of his
arrogant heart and the proud look in his eyes.
For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
For the Lord GOD of Hosts will carry out the destruction decreed upon the whole land.
They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his
indignation, to destroy the
whole land.

Rejoice not thou,
whole Palestina, because the rod of him that
smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a
cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a
fiery flying serpent.
Do not
rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken. For a
viper will spring from the root of the
snake, and a flying serpent from its egg.
Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou,
whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city!
Melt away, all you Philistines! For a cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there are no stragglers in its ranks.
And he
cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the
watchtower in the
daytime, and I am set in my ward
whole nights:
He will
swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will
wipe away tears from off all faces; and the
rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
He will
swallow up death
forever. The Lord GOD will
wipe away the tears from every face and remove the disgrace of His people from the
whole earth. For the LORD has spoken.
He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall
blossom and
bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
In the days to come, Jacob will take root. Israel will
bud and
blossom and fill the
whole world with fruit.
Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
So now, do not
mock, or your
shackles will become heavier. Indeed, I have heard from the Lord GOD of Hosts a decree of destruction against the
whole land.
And said, Remember now, O LORD, I
beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And
Hezekiah wept sore.

For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy
Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the
whole earth shall he be called.
For your husband is your Maker— the LORD of Hosts is His name— the Holy One of Israel is your
Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.
For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron
pillar, and
brasen walls against the
whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
Now behold, this day I have made you like a fortified city, an iron
pillar, and bronze walls against the
whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the people of the land.
And yet for all this her
treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her
whole heart, but
feignedly, saith the LORD.
Yet in spite of all this, her unfaithful sister Judah did not return to Me with all her heart, but only in pretense,” declares the LORD.
Destruction upon destruction is
cried; for the
whole land is
spoiled: suddenly are my tents
spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
Disaster after
disaster is proclaimed, for the
whole land is laid waste. My tents are destroyed in an instant, my curtains in a moment.
For thus hath the LORD said, The
whole land shall be
desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
For this is what the LORD says: “The
whole land will be
desolate, but I will not finish its destruction.
The
whole city shall
flee for the noise of the
horsemen and
bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and
climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be
forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.
Every city flees at the sound of the
horseman and archer. They enter the thickets and
climb among the rocks. Every city is abandoned; no inhabitant is left.
And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
And I will cast you out of My presence, just as I have cast out all your brothers, all the descendants of Ephraim.
The
snorting of his horses was heard from
Dan: the
whole land
trembled at the sound of the
neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have
devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein.
The
snorting of enemy horses is heard from
Dan. At the sound of the
neighing of mighty steeds, the
whole land quakes. They come to
devour the land and everything in it, the city and all who dwell in it.
Egypt, and Judah, and
Edom, and the children of
Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are
uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are
uncircumcised in the heart.
Egypt, Judah,
Edom,
Ammon, Moab, and all the inhabitants of the desert who
clip the hair of their temples. For all these nations are
uncircumcised, and the
whole house of Israel is
uncircumcised in heart.”
They have made it
desolate, and being
desolate it mourneth unto me; the
whole land is made
desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.
They have made it a
desolation;
desolate before Me, it mourns. All the land is laid waste, but no man takes it to heart.
For as the
girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to
cleave unto me the
whole house of Israel and the
whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
For just as a loincloth clings to a man’s
waist, so I have made the
whole house of Israel and the
whole house of Judah
cling to Me, declares the LORD, so that they might be My people for My
renown and praise and glory. But they did not
listen.
Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of
strife and a man of
contention to the
whole earth! I have neither lent on
usury, nor men have lent to me on
usury; yet every one of them
doth curse me.
Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of
strife and conflict in all the land. I have neither lent nor borrowed, yet
everyone curses me.
And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a
potter’s vessel, that cannot be made
whole again: and they shall
bury them in
Tophet, till there be no place to
bury.
and you are to
proclaim to them that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: I will
shatter this nation and this city, like one
shatters a
potter’s
jar that can never again be repaired. They will
bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room to
bury them.
And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.
And this
whole land shall be a
desolation, and an
astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
And this
whole land will become a
desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon for seventy years.
Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,
Some of the elders of the land stood up and said to the whole assembly of the people,
And the
whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the
brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be
plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
The
whole valley of the dead bodies and ashes, and all the fields as far as the Kidron Valley, to the corner of the Horse Gate to the east, will be holy to the LORD. It will never again be uprooted or
demolished.”
Yea, I will
rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land
assuredly with my
whole heart and with my
whole soul.
Yes, I will
rejoice in doing them good, and I will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.
Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the
whole house of the
Rechabites;
So I took Jaazaniah son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers and all his sons—the entire house of the
Rechabites—
For though ye had
smitten the
whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
Indeed, if you were to strike down the entire army of the Chaldeans that is fighting against you, and only wounded men remained in their tents, they would still get up and burn this city down.”
And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand. If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well unto thee: but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me into Babylon,
forbear: behold, all the land is before thee:
whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.
But now, behold, I am freeing you
today from the chains that were on your wrists. If it pleases you to come with me to Babylon, then come, and I will take care of you. But if it seems wrong to you to come with me to Babylon, go no farther. Look, the
whole land is before you. Wherever it seems good and right to you, go there.”
Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, all the
remnant of the people whom he had recovered from
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from
Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam, even mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from
Gibeon:
Then Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the armies with him took the
whole remnant of the people from
Mizpah whom he had recovered from
Ishmael son of Nethaniah after
Ishmael had killed Gedaliah son of
Ahikam: the soldiers, women, children, and court officials he had brought back from
Gibeon.
But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the
remnant of Judah, that were returned from all nations,
whither they had been driven, to dwell in the land of Judah;
Instead, Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces took the
whole remnant of Judah, those who had returned to the land of Judah from all the nations to which they had been scattered,
Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the
remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
Those who escape the sword will return from Egypt to Judah, few in number, and the
whole remnant of Judah who went to dwell in the land of Egypt will know whose word will stand, Mine or theirs!
Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will
pluck up, even this
whole land.
Thus Jeremiah was to say to
Baruch: “This is what the LORD says: Throughout the land I will
demolish what I have built and
uproot what I have planted.
How is the hammer of the
whole earth cut
asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a
desolation among the nations!
How the hammer of the
whole earth lies broken and
shattered! What a
horror Babylon has become among the nations!
Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth
drunken: the nations have
drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are
mad.
Babylon was a gold cup in the hand of the LORD, making the
whole earth
drunk. The nations
drank her wine; therefore the nations have gone
mad.
Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.
“Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, you who
devastate the
whole earth, declares the LORD. I will stretch out My hand against you; I will roll you over the cliffs and turn you into a
charred mountain.
How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the
whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an
astonishment among the nations!
How Sheshach has been captured! The praise of all the earth has been seized. What a
horror Babylon has become among the nations!
Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the
graven images of Babylon: and her
whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
Therefore, behold, the days are coming when I will
punish the idols of Babylon. Her entire land will suffer shame, and all her slain will lie fallen within her.
And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard,
brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.
And the whole army of the Chaldeans under the captain of the guard broke down all the walls around Jerusalem.
All that pass by
clap their hands at thee; they hiss and
wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the
whole earth?
All who pass by
clap their hands at you in
scorn. They hiss and
shake their heads at the Daughter of Jerusalem: “Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of all the earth?”
But the house of Israel will be unwilling to
listen to you, since they are unwilling to
listen to Me. For the
whole house of Israel is hard-headed and hard-hearted.
Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.
Again, take a few of these, throw them into the fire, and burn them. From there a fire will spread to the whole house of Israel.
Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will
execute judgments in thee, and the
whole remnant of thee will I
scatter into all the winds.
As a result, fathers among you will eat their sons, and sons will eat their fathers. I will
execute judgments against you and
scatter all your
remnant to every wind.’
