wood.

wood.
And I made an ark of
shittim wood, and
hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.
So I made an ark of
acacia wood,
chiseled out two stone tablets like the originals, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hands.
Thou shalt not plant thee a
grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD thy God, which thou shalt make thee.

As when a man goeth into the
wood with his neighbour to
hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the
axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the
helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall
flee unto one of those cities, and live:
If he goes into the forest with his
neighbor to cut timber and swings his
axe to
chop down a tree, but the
blade flies off the handle and strikes and kills his
neighbor, he may
flee to one of these cities to save his life.

The LORD will bring you and the king you
appoint to a nation neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you will worship other gods—gods of
wood and stone.
And the LORD shall
scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even
wood and stone.
Then the LORD will
scatter you among all the nations, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you will worship other gods, gods of
wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.

wood unto the drawer of thy water:
your children and wives, and the foreigners in your camps who cut your wood and draw your water—

Now therefore ye are
cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being
bondmen, and hewers of
wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.
Now therefore you are under a
curse and will perpetually serve as
woodcutters and water carriers for the house of my God.”
And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the LORD, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose.

And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the
wood country, and cut down for
thyself there in the land of the
Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
Joshua answered them, “If you have so many people that the hill country of Ephraim is too small for you, go to the forest and clear for
yourself an area in the land of the
Perizzites and the
Rephaim.”
But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a
wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the
Canaanites, though they have iron
chariots, and though they be strong.
because the hill country will be yours as well. It is a forest; clear it, and its
farthest limits will be yours. Although the
Canaanites have iron
chariots and although they are strong, you can drive them out.”
And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second
bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the

stronghold. And with the
wood of the Asherah pole you cut down, take the second bull and offer it as a burnt offering.”

Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the
wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?
Then the Ziphites came up to Saul at Gibeah and said, “Is not David hiding among us in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hachilah south of Jeshimon?
And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of
fir wood, even on harps, and on
psalteries, and on
timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.
David and all the house of Israel were
celebrating before the LORD with all kinds of
wood instruments, harps, stringed instruments, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals.
So the people went out into the field against Israel: and the battle was in the wood of Ephraim;
So David’s army marched into the field to
engage Israel in the battle, which took place in the forest of Ephraim.

wood devoured more people that day than the sword
devoured.
The battle spread over the whole
countryside, and that day the forest
devoured more people than the sword.
And they took

mound of stones over him. Meanwhile, all the Israelites fled, each to his home.
And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and
threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for
wood.

threshing sledges and ox yokes for the
wood.
And he built the walls of the house within with boards of
cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with
wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of
fir.
He lined the interior walls with
cedar paneling from the floor of the temple to the
ceiling, and he covered the floor with
cypress boards.
And within the
oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.
In the inner sanctuary he made two
cherubim, each ten cubits high, out of olive
wood.
And for the entering of the
oracle he made doors of olive tree: the
lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.
For the entrance to the inner sanctuary, Solomon constructed doors of olive wood with five-sided doorposts.
The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.
The double doors were made of olive
wood, and he carved into them
cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers and overlaid the
cherubim and palm trees with hammered gold.
So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.
In the same way he made four-sided doorposts of olive wood for the sanctuary entrance.
And the two doors were of
fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
The two doors were made of
cypress wood, and each had two folding panels.
And the king made of the
almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king’s house, harps also and
psalteries for singers: there came no such
almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.
The king made the
almug wood into steps for the house of the LORD and for the king’s palace, and into lyres and harps for the singers. Never before had such
almug wood been brought in, nor has such been seen to this day.)
Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one
bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on
wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other
bullock, and lay it on
wood, and put no fire under:
Get two bulls for us. Let the prophets of
Baal choose one bull for themselves, cut it into pieces, and place it on the
wood but not light the fire. And I will prepare the other bull and place it on the
wood but not light the fire.
And he put the
wood in order, and cut the
bullock in pieces, and laid him on the
wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the
wood.
Next, he arranged the wood, cut up the bull, placed it on the wood,
And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
and said, “Fill four waterpots and pour the water on the offering and on the wood.” “Do it a second time,” he said, and they did it a second time. “Do it a third time,” he said, and they did it a third time.
Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the
wood, and the stones, and the dust, and
licked up the water that was in the
trench.
Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the sacrifice, the
wood, the stones, and the dust, and it
licked up the water in the
trench.
And he turned back, and looked on them, and
cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the
wood, and
tare forty and two children of them.
Then he turned around, looked at them, and called down a
curse on them in the name of the LORD. Suddenly two female bears came out of the
woods and
mauled forty-two of the boys.
So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.
So
Elisha went with them, and when they came to the Jordan, they began to cut down some trees.
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
They have cast their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods, but only wood and stone—the work of human hands.
Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.
Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth.
And Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the
threshing instruments for
wood, and the wheat for the meat offering; I give it all.
Ornan said to David, “My lord the king may take whatever seems good. Look, I will give the oxen for the burnt offerings, the
threshing sledges for the
wood, and the wheat for the grain offering—I will give it all.”
Also

cedar wood to David.
and more
cedar logs than could be counted; for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought a large quantity of
cedar logs to David.
