Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath
spanned the heavens: when I
call unto them, they stand up together.
Surely My own hand founded the earth, and My right hand spread out the heavens; when I
summon them, they stand up together.
I, even I, have spoken;
yea, I have
called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
I, even I, have spoken;
yes, I have
called him. I have brought him, and he will succeed in his mission.
Listen, O isles, unto me; and
hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath
called me from the
womb; from the
bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
Listen to Me, O islands; pay attention, O distant peoples: The LORD
called Me from the
womb; from the body of My mother He named Me.
Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I
called, was there none to answer? Is my hand
shortened at all, that it cannot
redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my
rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for
thirst.
Why was no one there when I arrived? Why did no one answer when I
called? Is My hand too short to
redeem you? Or do I lack the strength to deliver you? Behold, My
rebuke dries up the sea; I turn the rivers into a desert; the fish
rot for lack of water and die of
thirst.
Look unto Abraham your father, and unto
Sarah that bare you: for I
called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
Look to Abraham your father, and to
Sarah who gave you birth. When I
called him, he was but one; then I blessed him and multiplied him.
For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy
Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be
called.
For your husband is your Maker— the LORD of Hosts is His name— the Holy One of Israel is your
Redeemer; He is
called the God of all the earth.
For the LORD hath
called thee as a woman
forsaken and
grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou
wast refused, saith thy God.
For the LORD has called you back, like a wife deserted and wounded in spirit, like the rejected wife of one’s youth,” says your God.
Behold, thou shalt
call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath
glorified thee.
Surely you will
summon a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you will run to you. For the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, has bestowed glory on you.”
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
I will bring them to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on My altar, for My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations.”
Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to
afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a
bulrush, and to spread
sackcloth and ashes under him?
wilt thou
call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
Is this the fast I have chosen: a day for a man to deny himself, to bow his head like a reed, and to spread out
sackcloth and ashes? Will you
call this a fast and a day acceptable to the LORD?
Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Then you will
call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry out, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger and
malicious talk,
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of the Streets of Dwelling.
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
If you turn your foot from breaking the Sabbath, from doing as you please on My holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight, and the LORD’s holy day honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way or seeking your own pleasure or speaking idle words,
None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
No one
calls for justice; no one pleads his case
honestly. They
rely on empty pleas; they tell lies; they conceive mischief and give birth to iniquity.
The sons also of them that
afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that
despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall
call thee, The city of the LORD, The
Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
The sons of your oppressors will come and bow down to you; all who
reviled you will fall facedown at your feet and
call you the City of the LORD,
Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders. But you will name your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.
To
appoint unto them that
mourn in
Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for
mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of
heaviness; that they might be
called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be
glorified.
to
console the mourners in
Zion— to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for
mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of
despair. So they will be
called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be
glorified.
But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall
call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye
boast yourselves.
But you will be
called the priests of the LORD; they will speak of you as ministers of our God; you will feed on the wealth of nations, and you will
boast in their riches.
And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
Nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You will be
called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will
bestow.
Thou shalt no more be termed
Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed
Desolate: but thou shalt be
called Hephzi-
bah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.
No longer will you be
called Forsaken, nor your land named
Desolate; but you will be
called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be His
bride.
I have set
watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,
On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted
watchmen; they will never be silent day or night. You who
call on the LORD shall take no rest for
yourselves,
And they shall
call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be
called, Sought out, A city not
forsaken.
And they will be
called the Holy People, the Redeemed of The LORD; and you will be
called Sought Out, A City Not
Forsaken.
We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.
We have become like those You never ruled, like those not called by Your name.
And there is none that
calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast
hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our
iniquities.
No one calls on Your name or strives to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us and delivered us into the hand of our iniquity.
I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
“I revealed Myself to those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. To a nation that did not call My name, I said, ‘Here I am! Here I am!’
Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
I will
destine you for the sword, and you will all
kneel down to be slaughtered, because I
called and you did not answer, I spoke and you did not
listen; you did evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight.”
And ye shall leave your name for a
curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall
slay thee, and
call his servants by another name:
You will leave behind your name as a
curse for My chosen ones, and the Lord GOD will
slay you; but to His servants He will give another name.
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Even before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear.
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
So I will choose their punishment and I will bring terror upon them, because I
called and no one answered, I spoke and no one
listened. But they did evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight.”
For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
For I am about to
summon all the clans and kingdoms of the north,” declares the LORD. “Their kings will come and set up their thrones at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem. They will attack all her surrounding walls and all the other cities of Judah.
Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
Have you not just called to Me, ‘My Father, You are my friend from youth.
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
At that time Jerusalem will be
called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations will be gathered in Jerusalem to honor the name of the LORD. They will no longer follow the
stubbornness of their evil hearts.
But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly
heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt
call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
Then I said, ‘How I long to make you My sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of all the nations!’ I thought you would call Me ‘Father’ and never turn away from following Me.
Reprobate silver shall men
call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
They are called rejected silver, because the LORD has rejected them.”
And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
and then come and stand before Me in this house, which bears My Name, and say, ‘We are delivered, so we can continue with all these abominations’?
Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
Has this house, which bears My Name, become a den of robbers in your sight?
Yes, I too have seen it, declares the LORD.
And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;
And now, because you have done all these things, declares the LORD, and because I have spoken to you again and again but you would not
listen, and I have
called to you but you would not answer,
Therefore will I do unto this house, which is
called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to
Shiloh.
therefore what I did to
Shiloh I will now do to the house that bears My Name, the house in which you trust, the place that I gave to you and your fathers.
Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not
hearken to thee: thou shalt also
call unto them; but they will not answer thee.
When you tell them all these things, they will not
listen to you. When you
call to them, they will not answer.
For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is
called by my name, to
pollute it.
For the people of Judah have done evil in My sight, declares the LORD. They have set up their abominations in the house that bears My Name, and so have
defiled it.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be
called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of
Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall
bury in
Tophet, till there be no place.
So behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when this place will no longer be
called Topheth and the Valley of
Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter. For they will
bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and
call for the
mourning women, that they may come; and send for
cunning women, that they may come:
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Take note, and
summon the
wailing women; send for the most skillful among them.
Pour out thy
fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that
call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and
devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his
habitation desolate.
Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge You, and on the families that do not
call on Your name. For they have
devoured Jacob; they have consumed him and finished him off; they have
devastated his homeland.
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
As for you, do not pray for these people. Do not raise up a cry or a prayer on their behalf, for I will not be
listening when they
call out to Me in their time of
disaster.
The LORD
called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great
tumult he hath
kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.
The LORD once
called you a flourishing olive tree, beautiful with well-formed fruit. But with a mighty
roar He will set it on fire, and its branches will be consumed.
For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt
treacherously with thee;
yea, they have
called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
Even your brothers— your own father’s household— even they have
betrayed you; even they have
cried aloud against you. Do not trust them, though they speak well of you.
Why shouldest thou be as a man
astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are
called by thy name; leave us not.
Why are You like a man taken by surprise, like a
warrior powerless to save? Yet You are among us, O LORD, and we are
called by Your name. Do not
forsake us!
Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to
wander, they have not
refrained their feet, therefore the LORD
doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
This is what the LORD says about this people: “Truly they love to
wander; they have not restrained their feet. So the LORD does not accept them; He will now remember their guilt and
call their sins to account.”
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and
rejoicing of mine heart: for I am
called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
Your words were found, and I
ate them. Your words became my joy and my heart’s delight. For I bear Your name, O LORD God of Hosts.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that this place shall no more be
called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of
Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter.
So behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when this place will no longer be
called Topheth or the Valley of Ben-
hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.
And it came to pass on the
morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not
called thy name Pashur, but Magor-missabib.
The next day, when Pashhur released Jeremiah from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him, “The LORD does not call you Pashhur, but Magor-missabib.
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is His name by which He will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.
For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
For behold, I am beginning to bring
disaster on the city that bears My Name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am
calling down a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, declares the LORD of Hosts.’
Therefore
prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall
roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy
habitation; he shall
mightily roar upon his
habitation; he shall give a
shout, as they that
tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
So you are to
prophesy all these words against them and say to them: ‘The LORD will
roar from on high; He will raise His voice from His holy
habitation. He will
roar loudly over His pasture; like those who
tread the grapes, He will
call out with a
shout against all the inhabitants of the earth.
Then shall ye
call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will
hearken unto you.
Then you will
call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will
listen to you.
For I will restore health unto thee, and I will
heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they
called thee an Outcast, saying, This is
Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
But I will restore your health and
heal your wounds, declares the LORD, because they
call you an outcast,
Zion, for whom no one cares.”
For there shall be a day, that the
watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to
Zion unto the LORD our God.
For there will be a day when
watchmen will
call out on the hills of Ephraim, ‘Arise, let us go up to
Zion, to the LORD our God!’”
And I
subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and
weighed him the money in the balances.
I signed and sealed the deed,
called in witnesses, and
weighed out the silver on the scales.
And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD,
Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
Yet You, O Lord GOD, have said to me, ‘
Buy for
yourself the field with silver and
call in witnesses, even though the city has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans!’”
But they set their abominations in the house, which is
called by my name, to
defile it.
They have placed their abominations in the house that bears My Name, and so have
defiled it.
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and
shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Call to Me, and I will answer and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name
wherewith she shall be
called, The LORD our righteousness.
In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely, and this is the name by which it will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.
And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in
proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is
called by my name:
Recently you
repented and did what pleased Me; each of you proclaimed freedom for his
neighbor. You made a covenant before Me in the house that bears My Name.
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
Therefore this is what the LORD God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will bring to Judah and to all the residents of Jerusalem all the
disaster I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them but they have not obeyed, and I have
called to them but they have not answered.’”
Then Jeremiah
called Baruch the son of Neriah: and
Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
So Jeremiah
called Baruch son of Neriah, and at the
dictation of Jeremiah,
Baruch wrote on a
scroll all the words that the LORD had spoken to Jeremiah.
Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,
and he summoned Johanan son of Kareah, all the commanders of the forces who were with him, and all the people from the least to the greatest.
Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape:
recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.
Summon the archers against Babylon, all who string the bow.
Encamp all around her; let no one escape. Repay her according to her deeds; do to her as she has done. For she has
defied the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.
Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the
trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her,
call together against her the kingdoms of
Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz;
appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers.
“Raise a
banner in the land! Blow the ram’s horn among the nations! Prepare the nations against her.
Summon the kingdoms against her—
Ararat, Minni, and
Ashkenaz.
Appoint a captain against her; bring up horses like
swarming locusts.
The Lord hath
trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath
called an assembly against me to
crush my young men: the Lord hath
trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
The Lord has rejected all the mighty men in my midst; He has summoned an army against me to
crush my young warriors. Like grapes in a winepress, the Lord has
trampled the Virgin Daughter of Judah.
I
called for my lovers, but they
deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the ghost in the city, while they sought their meat to
relieve their souls.
I
called out to my lovers, but they have
betrayed me. My priests and elders perished in the city while they searched for food to keep themselves alive.
They have heard that I
sigh: there is none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are
glad that thou hast done it: thou
wilt bring the day that thou hast
called, and they shall be like unto me.
People have heard my
groaning, but there is no one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my trouble; they are
glad that You have caused it. May You bring the day You have
announced, so that they may become like me.
All that pass by
clap their hands at thee; they hiss and
wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men
call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?
All who pass by
clap their hands at you in
scorn. They hiss and
shake their heads at the Daughter of Jerusalem: “Is this the city that was
called the perfection of beauty, the joy of all the earth?”
Thou hast
called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD’S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have
swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.
You summoned my attackers on every side, as for the day of an appointed feast. In the day of the LORD’s anger no one escaped or survived; my enemy has destroyed those I
nurtured and reared.
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope:
I
called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low
dungeon.
I called on Your name, O LORD, out of the depths of the Pit.
Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
You drew near when I called on You; You said, “Do not be afraid.”
He
cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
Then I heard Him call out in a loud voice, saying, “Draw near, O executioners of the city, each with a weapon of destruction in hand.”
And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the
cherub,
whereupon he was, to the
threshold of the house. And he
called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s
inkhorn by his side;
Then the glory of the God of Israel rose from above the
cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the
threshold of the temple. And He
called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing
kit at his side.
As for the wheels, it was
cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel.
I heard the wheels being
called “the
whirling wheels.”
Then I said unto them, What is the high place
whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is
called Bamah unto this day.
So I asked them: ‘What is this high place to which you go?’ (And to this day it is called Bamah.)
At his right hand was the
divination for Jerusalem, to
appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with
shouting, to
appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.
In his right hand appears the
portent for Jerusalem, where he is to set up
battering rams, to
call for the slaughter, to lift a battle cry, to direct the
battering rams against the gates, to build a
ramp, and to erect a siege wall.
And it shall be unto them as a false
divination in their sight, to them that have
sworn oaths: but he will
call to
remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.
It will seem like a false
omen to the eyes of those who have
sworn allegiance to him, but it will draw attention to their guilt and take them
captive.
Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in
calling to
remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the
harlot in the land of Egypt.
Yet she multiplied her
promiscuity, remembering the days of her youth, when she had
prostituted herself in the land of Egypt
So you revisited the
indecency of your youth, when the Egyptians
caressed your
bosom and pressed your young breasts.
I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will
summon the grain and make it
plentiful, and I will not bring famine upon you.
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
And I will
summon a sword against
Gog on all My mountains, declares the Lord GOD, and every man’s sword will be against his brother.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto
Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they
bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall
call it The valley of
Hamon-
gog.
And on that day I will give
Gog a burial place in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the Sea. It will block those who travel through, because
Gog and all his hordes will be buried there. So it will be
called the Valley of
Hamon-
gog.
And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every
feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field,
Assemble yourselves, and come; gather
yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
And as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says:
Call out to every kind of bird and to every beast of the field: ‘
Assemble and come together from all around to the
sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood.
Then the king commanded to
call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to
shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
So the king gave orders to
summon the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, and astrologers to explain his dreams. When they came and stood before the king,
Then
Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning
fiery furnace, and spake, and said,
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come
hither. Then
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
He
cried aloud, and said thus,
Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches,
shake off his leaves, and
scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:
He
called out in a loud voice: ‘Cut down the tree and
chop off its branches; strip off its leaves and
scatter its fruit. Let the beasts
flee from under it, and the birds from its branches.
The king

O my God,
incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is
called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great

compassion.

called by thy name.
O Lord,
listen! O Lord,
forgive! O Lord, hear and act! For Your sake, O my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people bear Your name.”
