Behold, I have received
commandment to
bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
I have indeed received a
command to
bless; He has blessed, and I cannot change it.
And Balak said unto
Balaam,
Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place;
peradventure it will please God that thou mayest
curse me them from thence.
“Please
come,” said Balak, “I will take you to another place. Perhaps it will please God that you
curse them for me from there.”
If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
that even if Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything of my own
accord, good or bad, to go beyond the
command of the LORD? I will speak whatever the LORD says.
And now, behold, I go unto my people:
come therefore, and I will
advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.
Now I am going back to my people, but
come, let me
warn you what this people will do to your people in the days to
come.”
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not
nigh: there shall
come a Star out of Jacob, and a
Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall
smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of
Sheth.
I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will
come forth from Jacob, and a
scepter will arise from Israel. He will
crush the skulls of Moab and strike down all the sons of
Sheth.
Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.
A ruler will come from Jacob and destroy the survivors of the city.”
And ships shall
come from the coast of
Chittim, and shall
afflict Asshur, and shall
afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.
Ships will
come from the coasts of
Cyprus; they will
subdue Asshur and Eber, but they too will perish
forever.”
And Israel abode in
Shittim, and the people began to
commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.
“Take a census of the men twenty years of age or older, as the LORD has commanded Moses.” And these were the Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt:
Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of
Reuben; Hanoch, of whom
cometh the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:
Reuben was the
firstborn of Israel. These were the descendants of
Reuben: The Hanochite clan from Hanoch, the Palluite clan from Pallu,
And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and
Abiram. This is that Dathan and
Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who
strove against Moses and against Aaron in the
company of
Korah, when they
strove against the LORD:
and the sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan, and
Abiram. It was Dathan and
Abiram, chosen by the congregation, who fought against Moses and Aaron with the followers of
Korah who rebelled against the LORD.
And the earth opened her mouth, and
swallowed them up together with
Korah, when that
company died, what time the fire
devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.
And the earth opened its mouth and
swallowed them along with
Korah, whose followers died when the fire consumed 250 men. They serve as a
warning sign.
Of the sons of
Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir
begat Gilead: of
Gilead come the family of the Gileadites.
These were the descendants of
Manasseh: The Machirite clan from Machir, the father of
Gilead, and the Gileadite clan from
Gilead.
Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the
company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the
company of
Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.
“Our father died in the wilderness, but he was not among the followers of
Korah who gathered together against the LORD. Instead, he died because of his own sin, and he had no sons.
And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his
kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the LORD
commanded Moses.
And if his father has no brothers, give his inheritance to the next of
kin from his clan, that he may take possession of it. This is to be a
statutory ordinance for the Israelites, as the LORD has
commanded Moses.’”
For ye rebelled against my
commandment in the desert of Zin, in the
strife of the congregation, to
sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
for when the congregation
contended in the Wilderness of Zin, both of you rebelled against My
command to show My
holiness in their sight regarding the waters.” Those were the waters of Meribah in Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin.
Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no
shepherd.

come in before them, and who will lead them out and bring them in, so that the congregation of the LORD will not be like sheep without a
shepherd.”
And set him before
Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
Have him stand before
Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation, and
commission him in their sight.
And he shall stand before
Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of
Urim before the LORD: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall
come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
He shall stand before
Eleazar the priest, who will seek counsel for him before the LORD by the judgment of the
Urim. At his
command, he and all the Israelites with him—the entire congregation—will go out and
come in.”
And Moses did as the LORD
commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before
Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:
Moses did as the LORD had
commanded him. He took Joshua, had him stand before
Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation,
And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
and laid his hands on him and
commissioned him, as the LORD had
instructed through Moses.

“
Command the Israelites and say to them: See that you present to Me at its appointed time the food for My offerings by fire, as a pleasing
aroma to Me.

And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded.
Then Moses said to the heads of the tribes of Israel, “This is what the LORD has commanded:
These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father’s house.
These are the statutes that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the relationship between a man and his wife, and between a father and a young daughter still in his home.
And they
warred against the Midianites, as the LORD
commanded Moses; and they
slew all the males.
Then they
waged war against
Midian, as the LORD had
commanded Moses, and they killed every male.
And Moses was
wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.
But Moses was
angry with the officers of the army—the
commanders of thousands and
commanders of hundreds—who were returning from the battle.
Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of
Balaam, to
commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
“Look, these women caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of
Balaam, to turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD.
And
Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the
ordinance of the law which the LORD
commanded Moses;
Then
Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has
commanded Moses:
And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
On the seventh day you are to wash your clothes, and you will be clean. After that you may enter the camp.”
And Moses and
Eleazar the priest did as the LORD
commanded Moses.
So Moses and
Eleazar the priest did as the LORD had
commanded Moses,

heave offering, unto
Eleazar the priest, as the LORD
commanded Moses.
Moses gave the tribute to
Eleazar the priest as an offering for the LORD, as the LORD had
commanded Moses.
Even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.
All the gold that the
commanders of thousands and of hundreds presented as an offering to the LORD
weighed 16,750 shekels.
And Moses and
Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a
memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
And Moses and
Eleazar the priest received the gold from the
commanders of thousands and of hundreds and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a
memorial for the Israelites before the LORD.
For we will not
inherit with them on
yonder side Jordan, or forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan eastward.
Yet we will not have an inheritance with them across the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on the east side of the Jordan.”
And the children of
Gad and the children of
Reuben spake unto Moses, saying, Thy servants will do as my lord
commandeth.
The Gadites and Reubenites said to Moses, “Your servants will do just as our lord commands.
So concerning them Moses
commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of
Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
So Moses gave orders about them to
Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of
Nun, and to the family leaders of the tribes of Israel.
And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the LORD: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.
At the LORD’s command, Moses recorded the stages of their journey. These are the stages listed by their starting points:
And Aaron the priest went up into mount
Hor at the
commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the
fortieth year after the children of Israel were
come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.
At the LORD’s
command, Aaron the priest
climbed Mount
Hor and died there on the first day of the fifth month, in the
fortieth year after the Israelites had
come out of the land of Egypt.
And king
Arad the
Canaanite, which dwelt in the south in the land of
Canaan, heard of the
coming of the children of Israel.
Now the
Canaanite king of
Arad, who lived in the Negev in the land of
Canaan, heard that the Israelites were
coming.
But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall
come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall
vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides; they will
harass you in the land where you settle.
Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.
And then I will do to you what I had
planned to do to them.”
Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye
come into the land of
Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of
Canaan with the coasts thereof:)
“
Command the Israelites and say to them: When you enter the land of
Canaan, it will be
allotted to you as an inheritance with these boundaries:
And the border shall
fetch a
compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.
where it will turn from Azmon, join the
Brook of Egypt, and end at the Sea.
And Moses
commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall
inherit by lot, which the LORD
commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe:
So Moses
commanded the Israelites, “
Apportion this land by lot as an inheritance. The LORD has
commanded that it be given to the nine and a half tribes.
These are they whom the LORD
commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of
Canaan.
These are the ones whom the LORD
commanded to
apportion the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of
Canaan.
Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.
“Command the Israelites to give, from the inheritance they will possess, cities for the Levites to live in and pasturelands around the cities.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be
come over Jordan into the land of
Canaan;
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you cross the Jordan into the land of
Canaan,
But if the
slayer shall at any time
come without the border of the city of his refuge,
whither he was fled;
But if the
manslayer ever goes outside the limits of the city of refuge to which he fled
So these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
This will be a
statutory ordinance for you for the generations to
come, wherever you live.
And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
Nor should you accept a
ransom for the person who flees to a city of refuge and allow him to return and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.
And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.
saying, “When the LORD commanded my lord to give the land as an inheritance to the Israelites by lot, He also commanded him to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.
And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe
whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
And when the
Jubilee for the Israelites
comes, their inheritance will be added to the tribe into which they marry and taken away from the tribe of our fathers.”
And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.
So at the word of the LORD, Moses commanded the Israelites: “The tribe of the sons of Joseph speaks correctly.
This is the thing which the LORD
doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.
This is what the LORD has
commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: They may marry
anyone they please, provided they marry within a clan of the tribe of their father.
Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:
So the daughters of Zelophehad did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
These are the
commandments and the judgments, which the LORD
commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near
Jericho.
These are the
commandments and ordinances that the LORD gave the Israelites through Moses on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from
Jericho.
And it came to pass in the
fortieth year, in the
eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in
commandment unto them;
In the
fortieth year, on the first day of the
eleventh month, Moses proclaimed to the Israelites all that the LORD had
commanded him concerning them.
So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over
fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.
So I took the leaders of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them as leaders over you—as
commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of
fifties, and of tens, and as officers for your tribes.
And I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do.
And at that time I commanded you all the things you were to do.
And when we departed from
Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the
Amorites, as the LORD our God
commanded us; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.
And just as the LORD our God had
commanded us, we set out from
Horeb and went toward the hill country of the
Amorites, through all the vast and
terrifying wilderness you have seen. When we reached Kadesh-barnea,
And I said unto you, Ye are
come unto the mountain of the
Amorites, which the LORD our God
doth give unto us.
I said: “You have reached the hill country of the
Amorites, which the LORD our God is giving us.
And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
Then all of you approached me and said, “Let us send men
ahead of us to search out the land and bring us word of what route to follow and which cities to enter.”
Notwithstanding ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God:
But you were unwilling to go up; you rebelled against the command of the LORD your God.
Then ye answered and said unto me, We have
sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God
commanded us. And when ye had
girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill.
“We have
sinned against the LORD,” you replied. “We will go up and fight, as the LORD our God has
commanded us.” Then each of you put on his weapons of war, thinking it easy to go up into the hill country.
So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the
commandment of the LORD, and went
presumptuously up into the hill.
So I spoke to you, but you would not
listen. You rebelled against the
command of the LORD and
presumptuously went up into the hill country.
Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we
compassed mount
Seir many days.
Then we turned back and headed for the wilderness by way of the Red Sea, as the LORD had
instructed me, and for many days we
wandered around Mount
Seir.
Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.
“You have been wandering around this hill country long enough; turn to the north
And
command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of
Esau, which dwell in
Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good
heed unto
yourselves therefore:
and
command the people: ‘You will pass through the territory of your brothers, the descendants of
Esau, who live in
Seir. They will be afraid of you, so you must be very careful.
And when we passed by from our brethren the children of
Esau, which dwelt in
Seir, through the way of the plain from
Elath, and from Ezion-gaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
So we passed by our brothers, the descendants of
Esau, who live in
Seir. We turned away from the Arabah road, which
comes up from
Elath and Ezion-
geber, and traveled along the road of the Wilderness of Moab.
And the space in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we were
come over the
brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD
sware unto them.
The time we spent traveling from Kadesh-barnea until we crossed over the
Brook of Zered was thirty-eight years, until that entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the LORD had
sworn to them.
And when thou
comest nigh over against the children of
Ammon, distress them not, nor
meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of
Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.
But when you get close to the
Ammonites, do not
harass them or
provoke them, for I will not give you any of the land of the
Ammonites. I have given it to the descendants of Lot as their possession.”
And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
At that time I
commanded you: “The LORD your God has given you this land to possess. All your men of
valor are to cross over, armed for battle,
ahead of your brothers, the Israelites.
And I
commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms
whither thou passest.
And at that time I commanded Joshua: “Your own eyes have seen all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings. The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms you are about to enter.
But charge Joshua, and
encourage him, and
strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to
inherit the land which thou shalt see.
But
commission Joshua,
encourage him, and
strengthen him, for he will cross over
ahead of the people and enable them to
inherit the land that you will see.”
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
You must not add to or
subtract from what I
command you, so that you may keep the
commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you.
Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God
commanded me, that ye should do so in the land
whither ye go to possess it.
See, I have taught you statutes and ordinances just as the LORD my God has commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land that you are about to enter and possess.
And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
He declared to you His covenant, which He commanded you to follow—the Ten Commandments that He wrote on two tablets of stone.
And the LORD
commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land
whither ye go over to possess it.
At that time the LORD commanded me to teach you the statutes and ordinances you are to follow in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
When thou art in
tribulation, and all these things are
come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be
obedient unto his voice;
When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and
listen to His voice.
Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his
commandments, which I
command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest
prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.
Keep His statutes and
commandments, which I am giving you
today, so that you and your children after you may
prosper, and that you may live long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you for all time.
These are the
testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt,
These are the
testimonies, statutes, and ordinances that Moses proclaimed to them after they had
come out of Egypt,
On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon king of the
Amorites, who dwelt at
Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel
smote, after they were
come forth out of Egypt:
while they were in the valley across the Jordan facing Beth-peor in the land of Sihon king of the
Amorites, who lived in
Heshbon and was defeated by Moses and the Israelites after they had
come out of Egypt.
And
shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my
commandments.
but showing loving devotion to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Keep the sabbath day to
sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath
commanded thee.
Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you.
And remember that thou
wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God
commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. That is why the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.
The LORD spoke these commandments in a loud voice to your whole assembly out of the fire, the cloud, and the deep darkness on the mountain; He added nothing more. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
If only they had such a heart to fear Me and keep all My
commandments always, so that it might be well with them and with their children
forever.
But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.
But you stand here with Me, that I may speak to you all the commandments and statutes and ordinances you are to teach them to follow in the land that I am giving them to possess.”
Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
So be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or to the left.
Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath
commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may
prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
You must walk in all the ways that the LORD your God has
commanded you, so that you may live and
prosper and
prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
Now these are the
commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God
commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land
whither ye go to possess it:
These are the
commandments and statutes and ordinances that the LORD your God has
instructed me to teach you to follow in the land that you are about to enter and possess,
That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
so that you and your children and grandchildren may fear the LORD your God all the days of your lives by keeping all His statutes and commandments that I give you, and so that your days may be prolonged.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
These words I am
commanding you
today are to be upon your hearts.
Ye shall
diligently keep the
commandments of the LORD your God, and his
testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath
commanded thee.
You are to
diligently keep the
commandments of the LORD your God and the
testimonies and statutes He has given you.
