Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will
shew thee:
Then the LORD said to
Abram, “Leave your country, your kindred, and your father’s household, and go to the land I will show you.
Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.
Get up and walk around the land, through its length and breadth, for I will give it to you.”
And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to
sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed
sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
“Get out of the way!” they replied. And they declared, “This one came here as a foreigner, and he is already acting like a judge! Now we will treat you worse than them.” And they pressed in on Lot and moved in to break down the door.
And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and
whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:

anyone else here—a son-in-law, your sons or daughters, or
anyone else in the city who belongs to you?
Get them out of here,
And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up,
get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that
mocked unto his sons in law.
So Lot went out and spoke to the sons-in-law who were
pledged in marriage to his daughters. “
Get up,” he said. “
Get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was
joking.

hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

get our father
drunk with wine so we can sleep with him and preserve his line.”

morrow, that the
firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay
yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”

I am the God of
Bethel, where thou anointedst the
pillar, and where thou vowedst a
vow unto me: now arise,
get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.

anointed the
pillar and made a solemn
vow to Me. Now
get up and leave this land at once, and return to your native land.’”

get you down thither, and
buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die.
“Look,” he added, “I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and
buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.”
Send one of you, and let him
fetch your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are
spies.
Send one of your number to
get your brother; the rest of you will be confined so that the truth of your words may be tested. If they are untrue, then as surely as Pharaoh lives, you are
spies!”
And as one of them opened his
sack to give his
ass provender in the inn, he
espied his money; for, behold, it was in his
sack’s mouth.

Goshen.

Goshen,
Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
Come, let us deal
shrewdly with them, or they will increase even more; and if a war breaks out, they may join our enemies, fight against us, and leave the country.”

Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it; but your workload will in no way be reduced.’”

quota of bricks.”

brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.

Get thee from me, take
heed to
thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.

And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.

harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will
get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his
chariots, and upon his
horsemen.

harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. Then I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and all his army and
chariots and
horsemen.
And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.

healed.

get up and walk around outside with his staff. Nevertheless, he must
compensate the man for his lost work and see that he is completely
healed.
Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
However, if the servant gets up after a day or two, the owner shall not be punished, since the servant is his property.

And if he be poor, and cannot
get so much; then he shall take one lamb for a
trespass offering to be waved, to make an
atonement for him, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil;
If, however, the person is poor and cannot afford these offerings, he is to take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to make
atonement for him, along with a tenth of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of olive oil,
And two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.
and two turtledoves or two young pigeons,
whichever he can afford, one to be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering.
And he shall offer the one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, such as he can get;
Then he must sacrifice the turtledoves or young pigeons,
whichever he can afford,
Even such as he is able to
get, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meat offering: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him that is to be
cleansed before the LORD.
one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, together with the grain offering. In this way the priest will make
atonement before the LORD for the one to be
cleansed.
This is the law of him in whom is the plague of
leprosy, whose hand is not able to
get that which pertaineth to his
cleansing.
This is the law for someone who has a skin disease and cannot afford the cost of his
cleansing.”
This is the law of the
Nazarite who hath
vowed, and of his offering unto the LORD for his separation, beside that that his hand shall
get: according to the
vow which he
vowed, so he must do after the law of his separation.
This is the law of the
Nazirite who vows his offering to the LORD for his separation, in addition to whatever else he can afford; he must
fulfill whatever
vow he makes, according to the law of his separation.”
Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they
weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
Where can I get meat for all these people? For they keep crying out to me, ‘Give us meat to eat!’
And Moses sent them to
spy out the land of
Canaan, and said unto them,
Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:
When Moses sent them to
spy out the land of
Canaan, he told them, “Go up through the Negev and into the hill country.
(Now the
Amalekites and the
Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To
morrow turn you, and
get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
Now since the
Amalekites and
Canaanites are living in the valleys, turn back
tomorrow and head for the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea.”
Speak unto the congregation, saying,
Get you up from about the tabernacle of
Korah, Dathan, and
Abiram.
“Tell the congregation to move away from the dwellings of
Korah, Dathan, and
Abiram.”
Get you up from among this congregation, that I may
consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
“
Get away from this congregation so that I may
consume them in an instant.” And Moses and Aaron fell facedown.
And
Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak,
Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you.
So
Balaam got up the next morning and said to Balak’s princes, “Go back to your homeland, because the LORD has refused to let me go with you.”
And God came unto
Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.
That night God came to
Balaam and said, “Since these men have come to
summon you,
get up and go with them, but you must only do what I tell you.”
And
Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have
sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will
get me back again.
“I have
sinned,”
Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, “for I did not
realize that you were standing in the road to
confront me. And now, if this is displeasing in your sight, I will go back home.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go up this mountain of the Abarim range and see the land that I have given the Israelites.
Now rise up, said I, and
get you over the
brook Zered. And we went over the
brook Zered.
“Now arise and cross over the
Brook of Zered.” So we crossed over the
Brook of Zered.
And when thou comest
nigh over against the children of
Ammon, distress them not, nor
meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of
Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.
But when you
get close to the
Ammonites, do not
harass them or
provoke them, for I will not give you any of the land of the
Ammonites. I have given it to the descendants of Lot as their possession.”
Get thee up into the top of
Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
Go to the top of
Pisgah and look to the west and north and south and east. See the land with your own eyes, for you will not cross this Jordan.
Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.
Go and tell them: ‘Return to your tents.’
And thou shalt teach them
diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
And you shall teach them
diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you
get up.
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to
get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he
sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
But remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to
confirm His covenant that He
swore to your fathers even to this day.
And the LORD said unto me, Arise,
get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a
molten image.
And the LORD said to me, “
Get up and go down from here at once, for your people, whom you brought out of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. How quickly they have turned aside from the way that I commanded them! They have made for themselves a
molten image.”
And the LORD said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I
sware unto their fathers to give unto them.
Then the LORD said to me, “
Get up. Continue your journey
ahead of the people, that they may enter and possess the land that I
swore to their fathers to give them.”
And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between
plea and
plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and
get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;
If a case is too difficult for you to judge, whether the controversy within your gates is regarding
bloodshed, lawsuits, or assaults, you must go up to the place the LORD your God will choose.
When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast
forgot a
sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to
fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
If you are harvesting in your field and
forget a
sheaf there, do not go back to
get it. It is to be left for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that the LORD your God may
bless you in all the work of your hands.
The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
The foreigner living among you will rise higher and higher above you, while you sink down lower and lower.
It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
It is not in heaven, that you should need to ask, ‘Who will
ascend into heaven to
get it for us and
proclaim it, that we may obey it?’
Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
And it is not beyond the sea, that you should need to ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to
get it for us and
proclaim it, that we may obey it?’
Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount
Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against
Jericho; and behold the land of
Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:
“Go up into the Abarim Range to Mount
Nebo, in the land of Moab across from
Jericho, and view the land of
Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites as their own possession.
And she said unto them,
Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide
yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.
“Go to the hill country,” she said, “so that your pursuers will not find you. Hide
yourselves there for three days until they have returned; then go on your way.”
And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?
But the LORD said to Joshua, “Stand up! Why have you fallen on your face?
Up,
sanctify the people, and say,
Sanctify yourselves against to
morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an
accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the
accursed thing from among you.
Get up and
consecrate the people, saying, ‘
Consecrate yourselves for
tomorrow, for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Among you, O Israel, there are things devoted to destruction. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.
And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then
get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for
thyself there in the land of the
Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
Joshua answered them, “If you have so many people that the hill country of Ephraim is too small for you, go to the forest and clear for
yourself an area in the land of the
Perizzites and the
Rephaim.”
And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.
And now that the LORD your God has given your brothers rest as He promised them, you may return to your homes in the land that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you across the Jordan.
Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and
incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.
“Now, therefore,” he said, “
get rid of the foreign gods among you and
incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.”
And the
spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him,
Shew us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will
shew thee mercy.
and when the
spies saw a man coming out of the city, they said to him, “Please show us how to
get into the city, and we will treat you kindly.”
And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.
That night the LORD said to
Gideon, “
Get up and go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand.
And it was so, when
Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of
Midian.
When
Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship. He returned to the camp of Israel and said, “
Get up, for the LORD has delivered the camp of
Midian into your hand.”
And he said unto Jether his
firstborn, Up, and
slay them. But the youth drew not his sword: for he feared, because he was yet a youth.
So he said to Jether, his
firstborn, “
Get up and kill them.” But the young man did not draw his sword; he was fearful because he was still a youth.
Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise thou, and fall upon us: for as the man is, so is his strength. And
Gideon arose, and
slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on their camels’ necks.
Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, “
Get up and kill us
yourself, for as the man is, so is his strength.” So
Gideon got up and killed Zebah and Zalmunna, and he took the
crescent ornaments from the necks of their camels.
And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion.
And in the morning at
sunrise,
get up and advance against the city. When Gaal and his men come out against you, do to them whatever you are able.”
And it was so, that when the children of
Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of
Gilead went to
fetch Jephthah out of the land of
Tob:
and made war with them, the elders of
Gilead went to
get Jephthah from the land of
Tob.
And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.
So he returned and told his father and mother, “I have seen a daughter of the Philistines in Timnah. Now get her for me as a wife.”
Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the
uncircumcised Philistines? And
Samson said unto his father,
Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
But his father and mother replied, “Can’t you find a young woman among your relatives or among any of our people? Must you go to the
uncircumcised Philistines to
get a wife?” But
Samson told his father, “
Get her for me, for she is pleasing to my eyes.”
And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his
concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the
damsel’s father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you
tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end,
lodge here, that thine heart may be
merry; and to
morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
When the man got up to depart with his
concubine and his servant, his father-in-law, the
girl’s father, said to him, “Look, the day is drawing to a close. Please
spend the night. See, the day is almost over.
Spend the night here, that your heart may be
merry. Then you can
get up early
tomorrow for your journey home.”
And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her up upon an
ass, and the man rose up, and
gat him unto his place.
“
Get up,” he told her. “Let us go.” But there was no
response. So the man put her on his
donkey and set out for home.
And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us to
complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be guilty.
When their fathers or brothers come to us to
complain, we will tell them, ‘Do us a favor by helping them, since we did not
get wives for each of them in the war. Since you did not actually give them your daughters, you have no guilt.’”
Wash
thyself therefore, and
anoint thee, and put thy
raiment upon thee, and
get thee down to the floor: but make not
thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
Therefore wash
yourself, put on
perfume, and wear your best clothes. Go down to the
threshing floor, but do not let the man know you are there until he has finished eating and drinking.
As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall
straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he
doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be
bidden. Now therefore
get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.
As soon as you enter the city, you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people will not eat until he comes, because he must
bless the sacrifice; after that, the guests will eat. Go up at once; you will find him.”
And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.
They got up early in the morning, and just before
dawn Samuel called to Saul on the roof, “
Get ready, and I will send you on your way!” So Saul arose, and both he and Samuel went outside together.
And Saul said unto the
Kenites, Go, depart,
get you down from among the
Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the
Kenites departed from among the
Amalekites.
And he
warned the
Kenites, “Since you showed kindness to all the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt, go on and
get away from the
Amalekites. Otherwise I will
sweep you away with them.” So the
Kenites moved away from the
Amalekites.
And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou
deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?
And Saul said to Michal, “Why did you
deceive me like this? You sent my enemy away and he has escaped!” Michal replied, “He said to me, ‘Help me
get away, or I will kill you!’”
And he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he cometh not unto the king’s table.
saying, ‘Please let me go, because our clan is holding a sacrifice in the city, and my brother has told me to be there. So now, if I have found favor in your eyes, please let me go and see my brothers.’ That is why he did not come to the king’s table.”
And the prophet
Gad said unto David,
Abide not in the hold; depart, and
get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.
Then the prophet
Gad said to David, “Do not stay in the
stronghold. Depart and go into the land of Judah.” So David left and went to the forest of Hereth.
And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made
haste to
get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.
Saul was proceeding along one side of the mountain, and David and his men along the other side. Even though David was
hurrying to
get away, Saul and his men were closing in on David and his men to capture them.
And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men,
Get you up to
Carmel, and go to Nabal, and
greet him in my name:
And David answered and said, Behold the king’s
spear! and let one of the young men come over and
fetch it.
“Here is the king’s
spear,” David answered. “Let one of the young men come over and
get it.
And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a
snare for my life, to cause me to die?
But the woman replied, “Surely you know what Saul has done, how he has killed the mediums and spiritists in the land. Why have you set a
trap to
get me killed?”
Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master’s servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.
Now then, get up early in the morning, along with your master’s servants who came with you, and go as soon as it is light.”
And
Abner said to
Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And
Joab said, Let them arise.
Then
Abner said to
Joab, “Let us have the young men
get up and
compete before us.” “Let them
get up,”
Joab replied.
