Abram journeyed,
going on still toward the south.
And
Abram journeyed on toward the Negev.
And when the sun was
going down, a deep sleep fell upon
Abram; and, lo, an
horror of great darkness fell upon him.
As the sun was setting,
Abram fell into a deep sleep, and suddenly great terror and darkness
overwhelmed him.
“
Hagar, servant of Sarai,” he said, “where have you come from, and where are you
going?” “I am running away from my
mistress Sarai,” she replied.
And he dreamed, and behold a
ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
And Jacob had a dream about a
ladder that rested on the earth with its top reaching up to heaven, and God’s angels were
going up and down the
ladder.
And he commanded the foremost, saying, When
Esau my brother meeteth thee, and asketh thee, saying, Whose art thou? and
whither goest thou? and whose are these before thee?
He
instructed the one in the lead, “When my brother
Esau meets you and asks, ‘To whom do you belong, where are you
going, and whose animals are these before you?’
And say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will
appease him with the present that goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face;
peradventure he will accept of me.
You are also to say, ‘Look, your servant Jacob is right behind us.’” For he thought, “I will
appease Esau with the gift that is
going before me. After that I can face him, and perhaps he will accept me.”
And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from
Gilead with their camels bearing
spicery and
balm and
myrrh,
going to carry it down to Egypt.
And as they sat down to eat a meal, they looked up and saw a
caravan of
Ishmaelites coming from
Gilead. Their camels were carrying spices,
balm, and
myrrh on their way down to Egypt.

going up to Timnah to
shear his sheep,”
And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye
bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and
Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.
Their father Jacob said to them, “You have deprived me of my sons. Joseph is gone and
Simeon is no more. Now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is
going against me!”
And they made ready the present against Joseph came at
noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.
Since the brothers had been told that they were
going to eat a meal there, they prepared their gift for Joseph’s arrival at
noon.
And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the LORD your God,” he said. “But who exactly will be going?”
And the Egyptians were
urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in
haste; for they said, We be all dead men.
And in order to send them out of the land quickly, the Egyptians urged the people on. “For otherwise,” they said, “we are all going to die!”
But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat
thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the
going down of the sun.
When Moses’ hands grew heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Then Aaron and Hur held his hands up, one on each side, so that his hands remained steady until the sun went down.
If thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his
ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
And six branches
going out of the sides thereof; three branches of the
candlestick out of the one side thereof, and three branches of the
candlestick out of the other side thereof:
Six branches extended from the sides, three on one side and three on the other.
Three
bowls made after the fashion of almonds in one branch, a
knop and a flower; and three
bowls made like almonds in another branch, a
knop and a flower: so throughout the six branches
going out of the
candlestick.
There were three cups shaped like
almond blossoms on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches that extended from the lampstand.
And a
knop under two branches of the same, and a
knop under two branches of the same, and a
knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches
going out of it.
A
bud was under the first pair of branches that extended from the lampstand, a
bud under the second pair, and a
bud under the third pair.
All flying insects that walk on all fours are
detestable to you.
And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.
“I will not go,” Hobab replied. “Instead, I am going back to my own land and my own people.”
And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my
wretchedness.
If this is how You are
going to treat me, please kill me right now—if I have found favor in Your eyes—and let me not see my own
wretchedness.”
Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?
Anyone who comes near the tabernacle of the LORD will die. Are we all
going to perish?”
And God’s anger was
kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an
adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his
ass, and his two servants were with him.
Then God’s anger was
kindled because
Balaam was
going along, and the angel of the LORD stood in the road to
oppose him.
Balaam was riding his
donkey, and his two servants were with him.
And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will
advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.
Now I am
going back to my people, but come, let me
warn you what this people will do to your people in the days to come.”
And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?
Why are you discouraging the Israelites from crossing into the land that the LORD has given them?
And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the LORD: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.
At the LORD’s command, Moses recorded the stages of their journey. These are the stages listed by their starting points:
And your border shall turn from the south to the
ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the
going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon:
cross south of the
Ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and go south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it will go on to Hazar-addar and proceed to Azmon,
And the border shall
fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the
goings out of it shall be at the sea.
where it will turn from Azmon, join the
Brook of Egypt, and end at the Sea.
From mount
Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of
Hamath; and the
goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad:
and from Mount
Hor to Lebo-
hamath, then extend to Zedad,
And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazar-enan: this shall be your north border.
continue to Ziphron, and end at Hazar-enan. This will be your boundary on the north.
And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about.
Then the border will go down along the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. This will be your land, defined by its borders on all sides.”
Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day:
“
Today you are
going to cross the border of Moab at Ar.
Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart,
dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God
doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD
sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
It is not because of your righteousness or uprightness of heart that you are
going in to possess their land, but it is because of their wickedness that the LORD your God is driving out these nations before you, to keep the promise He
swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the
passover at even, at the
going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.
You must only offer the
Passover sacrifice at the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name. Do this in the evening as the sun sets, at the same time you departed from Egypt.
And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
and going to worship other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven—which I have forbidden—
And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts
faint, fear not, and do not
tremble, neither be ye
terrified because of them;
saying to them, “Hear, O Israel,
today you are
going into battle with your enemies. Do not be
fainthearted or afraid; do not be
alarmed or
terrified because of them.
From the wilderness and this
Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the
Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the
going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
Your territory shall extend from the wilderness and
Lebanon to the great River Euphrates—all the land of the
Hittites—and west as far as the Great Sea.
And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
And he told the people, “Advance and march around the city, with the armed troops
going ahead of the ark of the LORD.”
And the armed men went before the priests that
blew with the
trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests
going on, and blowing with the
trumpets.
While the horns continued to sound, the armed troops marched
ahead of the priests who
blew the horns, and the rear guard followed the ark.
So the ark of the LORD compassed the city,
going about it once: and they came into the camp, and
lodged in the camp.
So he had the ark of the LORD carried around the city, circling it once. And the people returned to the camp and spent the night there.
And seven priests bearing seven
trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and
blew with the
trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests
going on, and blowing with the
trumpets.
And the seven priests carrying seven rams’ horns kept marching
ahead of the ark of the LORD and blowing the horns. The armed troops went in front of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the horns kept sounding.
And the men of
Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they
chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and
smote them in the
going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
And the men of
Ai struck down about thirty-six of them,
chasing them from the gate as far as the
quarries and striking them down on the slopes. So the hearts of the people melted and became like water.
And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the
going down to Beth-horon, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel
slew with the sword.
As they fled before Israel along the descent from Beth-horon to Azekah, the LORD cast down on them large hailstones from the sky, and more of them were killed by the hailstones than by the swords of the Israelites.
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had
avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
So the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took
vengeance upon its enemies. Is this not written in the Book of
Jashar? “So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed
going down about a full day.”
And it came to pass at the time of the
going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been
hid, and laid great stones in the cave’s mouth, which remain until this very day.
At
sunset Joshua ordered that they be taken down from the trees and thrown into the cave in which they had hidden. Then large stones were placed against the mouth of the cave, and the stones are there to this day.
As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
still as strong
today as I was the day Moses sent me out. As my strength was then, so it is now for war, for
going out, and for coming in.
From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.
It proceeded to Azmon, joined the
Brook of Egypt, and ended at the Sea. This was their southern border.
And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of
Achor, and so northward, looking toward
Gilgal, that is before the
going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the
goings out thereof were at En-rogel:
Then the border went up to Debir from the Valley of
Achor, turning north to
Gilgal, which faces the
Ascent of Adummim south of the
ravine. It continued along the waters of En-shemesh and came out at En-rogel.
And the border went out unto the side of
Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the
goings out of the border were at the sea.
Then it went out to the northern slope of
Ekron, curved toward Shikkeron, proceeded to Mount Baalah, went on to Jabneel, and ended at the Sea.
And goeth down westward to the coast of Japhleti, unto the coast of Beth-horon the
nether, and to
Gezer: and the
goings out thereof are at the sea.
Then it descended westward to the border of the Japhletites as far as the border of Lower Beth-horon and on to
Gezer, and it ended at the Sea.
The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.
From Tappuah the border went westward to the
Brook of Kanah and ended at the Sea. This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Ephraim,
And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of
Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the
goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Beth-
aven.
On the north side their border began at the Jordan, went up past the northern slope of
Jericho, headed west through the hill country, and came out at the wilderness of Beth-
aven.
And the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Beth-horon southward; and the
goings out thereof were at Kirjath-
baal, which is Kirjath-jearim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.
On the west side the border curved southward from the hill facing Beth-horon on the south and came out at Kiriath-
baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city of the sons of Judah. This was the western side.
And was drawn from the north, and went forth to En-shemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the
going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of
Reuben,
From there it curved northward and proceeded to En-shemesh and on to Geliloth facing the
Ascent of Adummim, and continued down to the Stone of Bohan son of
Reuben.
And the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to destroy the land wherein the children of
Reuben and
Gad dwelt.
The Israelites were satisfied with the report, and they blessed God and spoke no more about going to war against them to destroy the land where the Reubenites and Gadites lived.
And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
Now behold,
today I am
going the way of all the earth, and you know with all your heart and soul that not one of the good promises the LORD your God made to you has failed. Everything was fulfilled for you; not one promise has failed.
And the coast of the
Amorites was from the
going up to Akrabbim, from the rock, and upward.
And the border of the
Amorites extended from the
Ascent of Akrabbim to Sela and beyond.
And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their
stubborn way.
But when the judge died, the Israelites became even more corrupt than their fathers,
going after other gods to serve them and bow down to them. They would not give up their evil practices and
stubborn ways.
And
Gideon said unto God, If thou
wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,
Then
Gideon said to God, “If You are
going to save Israel by my hand, as You have said,
Behold, I will put a
fleece of wool in the floor; and if the
dew be on the
fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou
wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
then behold, I will place a
fleece of wool on the
threshing floor. If there is
dew only on the
fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that You are
going to save Israel by my hand, as You have said.”
And
Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
“We are going to die,” he said to his wife, “for we have seen God!”
And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a
wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said,
Whither goest thou? and whence comest thou?
When he looked up and saw the traveler in the city square, the old man asked, “Where are you going, and where have you come from?”
And he said unto him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from thence am I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I am now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receiveth me to house.
The
Levite replied, “We are traveling from
Bethlehem in Judah to the remote hill country of Ephraim, where I am from. I went to
Bethlehem in Judah, and now I am
going to the house of the LORD; but no one has taken me into his home,
And he said unto her, Up, and let us be
going. But none answered. Then the man took her up upon an
ass, and the man rose up, and
gat him unto his place.
“Get up,” he told her. “Let us go.” But there was no
response. So the man put her on his
donkey and set out for home.
But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a
pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven.
But when the column of smoke began to go up from the city, the Benjamites looked behind them and saw the whole city going up in smoke.
And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens
going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the
seer here?
And as they were
climbing the hill to the city, they met some young women coming out to draw water and asked, “Is the
seer here?”
And as they were
going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul,
Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may
shew thee the word of God.
As they were
going down to the edge of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on
ahead of us, but you stay for a while, and I will
reveal to you the word of God.” So the servant went on.
Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of
Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men
going up to God to
Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three
loaves of bread, and another carrying a
bottle of wine:
Then you will go on from there until you come to the Oak of
Tabor. Three men
going up to God at
Bethel will meet you there, one carrying three young goats, another carrying three
loaves of bread, and another carrying a skin of wine.
And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long
wilt thou
mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to
Jesse the
Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.
Now the LORD said to Samuel, “How long are you
going to
mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to
Jesse of
Bethlehem, for I have selected from his sons a king for Myself.”
And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as
Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the
trench, as the host was
going forth to the fight, and
shouted for the battle.
So David got up early in the morning, left the flock with a keeper, loaded up, and set out as
Jesse had
instructed him. He reached the camp as the army was marching out to its position and
shouting the battle cry.
And when Saul saw David go forth against the
Philistine, he said unto
Abner, the captain of the host,
Abner, whose son is this youth? And
Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell.
As Saul had watched David
going out to
confront the
Philistine, he said to
Abner the commander of the army, “
Abner, whose son is this young man?” “As surely as you live, O king,”
Abner replied, “I do not know.”
Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.
So Achish summoned David and told him, “As surely as the LORD lives, you have been upright in my sight, and it seems right that you should march in and out with me in the army, because I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until this day. But you have no favor in the sight of the leaders.
And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king?
“But what have I done?” David replied. “What have you found against your servant, from the day I came to you until
today, to keep me from
going along to fight against the enemies of my lord the king?”
And
Asahel pursued after
Abner; and in
going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following
Abner.
and he
chased Abner, not turning to the right or to the left in his pursuit.
Thou knowest
Abner the son of
Ner, that he came to
deceive thee, and to know thy
going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.
And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a
going in the tops of the
mulberry trees, that then thou shalt
bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to
smite the host of the Philistines.
As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the
balsam trees, move quickly, because this will mean that the LORD has marched out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
Then the king answered and said unto the woman, Hide not from me, I pray thee, the thing that I shall ask thee. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.
Then the king said to the woman, “I am
going to ask you something; do not
conceal it from me!” “Let my lord the king speak,” she replied.
Whereas thou camest but
yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go
whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee.
In fact, you arrived only
yesterday; should I make you
wander around with us
today while I do not know where I am
going? Go back and take your brothers with you. May the LORD show you loving devotion and faithfulness.”
And
Absalom met the servants of David. And
Absalom rode upon a
mule, and the
mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the
mule that was under him went away.
Now
Absalom was riding on his
mule when he met the servants of David, and as the
mule went under the thick branches of a large oak,
Absalom’s head was caught fast in the tree. The
mule under him kept
going, so that he was suspended in midair.
Then said
Joab, I may not
tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of
Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.
But
Joab declared, “I am not
going to wait like this with you!” And he took three spears in his hand and thrust them through the heart of
Absalom while he was still alive in the oak tree.
And it came to pass at that time when
Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet
Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had
clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:
During that time, the prophet
Ahijah the Shilonite met
Jeroboam on the road as he was
going out of Jerusalem. Now
Ahijah had
wrapped himself in a new
cloak, and the two of them were alone in the open field.
Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two
calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
After seeking advice, the king made two golden
calves and said to the people, “
Going up to Jerusalem is too much for you. Here, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”
And as she was
going to
fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a
morsel of bread in thine hand.
And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a piece of bread.”
And he did very
abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the
Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
He committed the most
detestable acts by
going after idols, just like the
Amorites whom the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.)
And there went a
proclamation throughout the host about the
going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.
As the sun was setting, the cry
rang out in the army: “Every man to his own city, and every man to his own land!”
And he went up from thence unto
Bethel: and as he was
going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and
mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou
bald head; go up, thou
bald head.
And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying,
Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
Then the man of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Be careful passing by this place, for the Arameans are going down there.”
But when
Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And
Jehu followed after him, and said,
Smite him also in the
chariot. And they did so at the
going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to
Megiddo, and died there.
When King
Ahaziah of Judah saw this, he fled up the road toward Beth-haggan. And
Jehu pursued him,
shouting, “Shoot him too!” So they shot
Ahaziah in his
chariot on the
Ascent of Gur, near Ibleam, and he fled to
Megiddo and died there.
And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.
So the commanders of hundreds did everything that Jehoiada the priest had ordered. Each of them took his men—those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty—and came to Jehoiada the priest.
And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his
testimonies which he
testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
They rejected His statutes and the covenant He had made with their fathers, as well as the decrees He had given them. They pursued worthless idols and themselves became worthless,
going after the surrounding nations that the LORD had commanded them not to
imitate.
But I know thy abode, and thy
going out, and thy coming in, and thy
rage against me.
But I know your sitting down, your
going out and coming in, and your
raging against Me.
And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of
going in the tops of the
mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to
smite the host of the Philistines.
As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the
balsam trees, move out to battle, because this will mean that God has marched out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
To Shuppim and Hosah the lot came forth westward, with the gate Shallecheth, by the
