And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
They set out this first time according to the LORD’s command through Moses.
And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and
baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
The people walked around and gathered it, ground it on a
handmill or
crushed it in a mortar, then boiled it in a
cooking pot or shaped it into cakes. It tasted like
pastry baked with fine oil.
And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of
hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my
wretchedness.
If this is how You are going to treat me, please kill me right now—if I have found favor in Your eyes—and let me not see my own
wretchedness.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.
The LORD answered Moses, “Is the LORD’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not My word will come to pass.”
Even all that the LORD hath commanded you by the
hand of Moses, from the day that the LORD commanded Moses, and
henceforward among your generations;
all that the LORD has commanded you through Moses from the day the LORD gave them and continuing through the generations to come—
To be a
memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as
Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the
hand of Moses.
just as the LORD commanded him through Moses. This was to be a reminder to the Israelites that no outsider who is not a
descendant of Aaron should approach to offer incense before the LORD, lest he become like
Korah and his followers.
And Moses lifted up his
hand, and with his rod he
smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation
drank, and their beasts also.
Then Moses raised his
hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of water
gushed out, and the congregation and their
livestock were able to drink.
Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
Please let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway; we will not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And
Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong
hand.
But
Edom insisted, “You may not pass through.” And they came out to
confront the Israelites with a large army and a strong
hand.
And Israel
vowed a
vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou
wilt indeed deliver this people into my
hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.
So Israel made a
vow to the LORD: “If You will deliver this people into our
hands, we will
devote their cities to destruction.”
For
Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the
Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his
hand, even unto
Arnon.
Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the
Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his land as far as the
Arnon.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy
hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou
didst unto Sihon king of the
Amorites, which dwelt at
Heshbon.
But the LORD said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your
hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon king of the
Amorites, who lived in
Heshbon.”
And the elders of Moab and the elders of
Midian departed with the rewards of
divination in their
hand; and they came unto
Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak.
The elders of Moab and
Midian departed with the fees for
divination in
hand. They came to
Balaam and relayed to him the words of Balak.
And the
ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his
hand: and the
ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and
Balaam smote the
ass, to turn her into the way.
When the
donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his
hand, she turned off the path and went into a field. So
Balaam beat her to return her to the path.
And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
And the angel of the LORD moved on
ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn to the right or left.
And
Balaam said unto the
ass, Because thou hast
mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine
hand, for now would I kill thee.
Balaam answered the
donkey, “You have made a
fool of me! If I had a sword in my
hand, I would kill you right now!”
Then the LORD opened the eyes of
Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his
hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
Then the LORD opened
Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his
hand. And
Balaam bowed low and fell facedown.
And Balak’s anger was
kindled against
Balaam, and he
smote his
hands together: and Balak said unto
Balaam, I called thee to
curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.
Then Balak’s anger burned against
Balaam, and he struck his
hands together and said to
Balaam, “I summoned you to
curse my enemies, but behold, you have
persisted in blessing them these three times.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and
hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and
execute them in broad
daylight before the LORD, so that His fierce anger may turn away from Israel.”
And when
Phinehas, the son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a
javelin in his
hand;
On seeing this,
Phinehas son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, got up from the assembly, took a
spear in his
hand,
Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of
Reuben;
Hanoch, of whom cometh the family of the
Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:
Reuben was the
firstborn of Israel. These were the descendants of
Reuben: The
Hanochite clan from
Hanoch, the Palluite clan from Pallu,
And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of
Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine
hand upon him;
And the LORD replied to Moses, “Take Joshua son of
Nun, a man with the Spirit in him, and lay your
hands on him.
And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
and laid his
hands on him and commissioned him, as the LORD had
instructed through Moses.
And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and
Phinehas the son of
Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the
trumpets to blow in his
hand.
And Moses sent the thousand from each tribe into battle, along with
Phinehas son of
Eleazar the priest, who took with him the vessels of the sanctuary and the
trumpets for signaling.
These are the journeys of the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
These are the journeys of the Israelites when they came out of the land of Egypt by their divisions under the
leadership of Moses and Aaron.
And they departed from
Rameses in the first month, on the
fifteenth day of the first month; on the
morrow after the
passover the children of Israel went out with an high
hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.
On the
fifteenth day of the first month, on the day after the
Passover, the Israelites set out from
Rameses. They marched out defiantly in full view of all the Egyptians,
The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of
Manasseh,
Hanniel the son of
Ephod.
Hanniel son of
Ephod, a leader from the tribe of
Manasseh son of Joseph;
And if he
smite him with throwing a stone,
wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
Or if
anyone has in his
hand a stone of deadly size, and he strikes and kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
Or if he
smite him with an
hand weapon of wood,
wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
If
anyone has in his
hand a deadly object of wood, and he strikes and kills another, he is a murderer; the murderer must surely be put to death.
Or in
enmity smite him with his
hand, that he die: he that
smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the
revenger of blood shall
slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.
or if in hostility he strikes him with his
hand and he dies, the one who struck him must surely be put to death; he is a murderer. When the
avenger of blood finds the murderer, he is to kill him.
And the congregation shall deliver the
slayer out of the
hand of the
revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge,
whither he was fled: and he shall
abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was
anointed with the holy oil.
The assembly is to protect the
manslayer from the
hand of the
avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there until the death of the high priest, who was
anointed with the holy oil.
These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the
hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near
Jericho.
These are the commandments and ordinances that the LORD gave the Israelites through Moses on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from
Jericho.
And they took of the fruit of the land in their
hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which the LORD our God
doth give us.
They took some of the fruit of the land in their hands, carried it down to us, and brought us word: “It is a good land that the LORD our God is giving us.”
And ye
murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD
hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the
hand of the
Amorites, to destroy us.
You grumbled in your tents and said, “Because the LORD hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the
hand of the
Amorites to be
annihilated.
For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
Indeed, the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. The LORD your God has been with you these forty years, and you have lacked nothing.
For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.
Indeed, the LORD’s
hand was against them, to
eliminate them from the camp, until they had all perished.
Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river
Arnon: behold, I have given into thine
hand Sihon the Amorite, king of
Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and
contend with him in battle.
“Arise, set out, and cross the
Arnon Valley. See, I have delivered into your
hand Sihon the Amorite, king of
Heshbon, and his land. Begin to take possession of it and
engage him in battle.
Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left.
“Let us pass through your land; we will stay on the main road. We will not turn to the right or to the left.
But Sihon king of
Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God
hardened his spirit, and made his heart
obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy
hand, as appeareth this day.
But Sihon king of
Heshbon would not let us pass through, for the LORD your God had made his spirit
stubborn and his heart
obstinate, that He might deliver him into your
hand, as is the case this day.
And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy
hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou
didst unto Sihon king of the
Amorites, which dwelt at
Heshbon.
But the LORD said to me, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your
hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon king of the
Amorites, who lived in
Heshbon.”
So the LORD our God delivered into our
hands Og also, the king of
Bashan, and all his people: and we
smote him until none was left to him remaining.
So the LORD our God also delivered
Og king of
Bashan and his whole army into our
hands. We struck them down until no
survivor was left.
And we took at that time out of the
hand of the two kings of the
Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of
Arnon unto mount
Hermon;
At that time we took from the two kings of the
Amorites the land across the Jordan, from the
Arnon Valley as far as Mount
Hermon—
O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to
shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty
hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
“O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your greatness and power to Your servant. For what god in heaven or on earth can perform such works and mighty acts as Yours?
And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
And there you will serve man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.
Or hath God
assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty
hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
Or has any god tried to take as his own a nation out of another nation—by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors—as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt, before your eyes?
And remember that thou
wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty
hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. That is why the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
So be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or to the left.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine
hand, and they shall be as
frontlets between thine eyes.
Tie them as reminders on your
hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s
bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty
hand:
then you are to tell him, “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had
sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty
hand, and redeemed you out of the house of
bondmen, from the
hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
But because the LORD loved you and kept the oath He
swore to your fathers, He brought you out with a mighty
hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the
hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.
the great trials that you saw, the signs and wonders, and the mighty hand and outstretched arm by which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear.
And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.
He will
hand their kings over to you, and you will
wipe out their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand against you; you will
annihilate them.
And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine
hand hath
gotten me this wealth.
You might say in your heart, “The power and strength of my hands have made this wealth for me.”
So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.
So I went back down the mountain while it was
blazing with fire, with the two tablets of the covenant in my
hands.
And I took the two tables, and cast them out of my two
hands, and
brake them before your eyes.
So I took the two tablets and threw them out of my
hands,
shattering them before your eyes.
I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
And I prayed to the LORD and said, “O Lord GOD, do not destroy Your people, Your inheritance, whom You redeemed through Your greatness and brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
And I made an ark of
shittim wood, and
hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine
hand.
So I made an ark of
acacia wood,
chiseled out two stone tablets like the originals, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my
hands.
And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the
chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty
hand, and his stretched out arm,
Know this day that it is not your children who have known and seen the discipline of the LORD your God: His greatness, His mighty hand, and His outstretched arm;
Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your
hand, that they may be as
frontlets between your eyes.
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds;
tie them as reminders on your
hands and bind them on your foreheads.
And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your
tithes, and
heave offerings of your
hand, and your vows, and your
freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
To that place you are to bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your
tithes and
heave offerings, your
vow offerings and
freewill offerings, as well as the
firstborn of your herds and flocks.
And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall
rejoice in all that ye put your
hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.
There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your households shall eat and
rejoice in all you do, because the LORD your God has blessed you.
Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your
tithes, and the
heave offering of your
hand, and all your choice vows which ye
vow unto the LORD:
then the LORD your God will choose a dwelling for His Name. And there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your
tithes and special gifts, and all the choice offerings you
vow to the LORD.
Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the
tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy
freewill offerings, or
heave offering of thine
hand:
Within your gates you must not eat the
tithe of your grain or new wine or oil, the
firstborn of your herds or flocks, any of the offerings that you have
vowed to give, or your
freewill offerings or special gifts.
But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy
manservant, and thy
maidservant, and the
Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt
rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine
hands unto.
Instead, you must eat them in the presence of the LORD your God at the place the LORD your God will choose—you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the
Levite within your gates.
Rejoice before the LORD your God in all you do,
But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
Instead, you must surely kill him. Your hand must be the first against him to put him to death, and then the hands of all the people.
And there shall
cleave nought of the
cursed thing to thine
hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and
shew thee mercy, and have
compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath
sworn unto thy fathers;
Nothing devoted to destruction shall
cling to your
hands, so that the LORD will turn from His fierce anger, grant you mercy, show you
compassion, and multiply you as He
swore to your fathers,
Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
then exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place the LORD your God will choose.
And the
Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the work of thine
hand which thou doest.
Then the
Levite (because he has no portion or inheritance among you), the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may come and eat and be satisfied. And the LORD your God will
bless you in all the work of your
hands.
Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release;
You may collect something from a foreigner, but you must
forgive whatever your brother owes you.
If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not
harden thine heart, nor shut thine
hand from thy poor brother:
If there is a poor man among your brothers within any of the gates in the land that the LORD your God is giving you, then you are not to
harden your heart or shut your
hand from your poor brother.
But thou shalt open thine
hand wide unto him, and shalt surely
lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.
Instead, you are to open your
hand to him and freely
loan him whatever he needs.
Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at
hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him
nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
Be careful not to
harbor this wicked thought in your heart: “The seventh year, the year of release, is near,” so that you look upon your poor brother begrudgingly and give him nothing. He will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be
grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall
bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine
hand unto.
Give generously to him, and do not let your heart be
grieved when you do so. And because of this the LORD your God will
bless you in all your work and in everything to which you put your
hand.
For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine
hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy
needy, in thy land.
For there will never cease to be poor in the land; that is why I am commanding you to open wide your
hand to your brother and to the poor and
needy in your land.
And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:
And when you release him, do not send him away empty-handed.
It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double
hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: and the LORD thy God shall
bless thee in all that thou doest.
Do not regard it as a
hardship to set your servant free, because his six years of service were worth twice the wages of a
hired hand. And the LORD your God will
bless you in all you do.
And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a
freewill offering of thine
hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
And you shall
celebrate the Feast of Weeks to the LORD your God with a
freewill offering that you give in proportion to how the LORD your God has blessed you,
Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD thy God shall
bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine
hands, therefore thou shalt surely
rejoice.
For seven days you shall
celebrate a feast to the LORD your God in the place He will choose, because the LORD your God will
bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your
hands, so that your joy will be complete.
Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of
unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:
Three times a year all your men are to appear before the LORD your God in the place He will choose: at the Feast of
Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the LORD empty-
handed.
The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.
The
hands of the witnesses shall be the first in putting him to death, and after that, the
hands of all the people. So you must
purge the evil from among you.
According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall
shew thee, to the right
hand, nor to the left.
according to the terms of law they give and the
verdict they
proclaim. Do not turn aside to the right or to the left from the decision they declare to you.
That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right
hand, or to the left: to the end that he may
prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
Then his heart will not be
exalted above his countrymen, and he will not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or to the left, in order that he and his sons may reign many years over his kingdom in Israel.
As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to
hew wood, and his
hand fetcheth a stroke with the
axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the
helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall
flee unto one of those cities, and live:
If he goes into the forest with his
neighbor to cut timber and swings his
axe to
chop down a tree, but the
blade flies off the
handle and strikes and kills his
neighbor, he may
flee to one of these cities to save his life.
Then the elders of his city shall send and
fetch him thence, and deliver him into the
hand of the
avenger of blood, that he may die.
the elders of his city must send for him, bring him back, and
hand him over to the
avenger of blood to die.
And thine eye shall not
pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth,
hand for
hand, foot for foot.
You must show no
pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth,
hand for
hand, and foot for foot.
And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine
hands, thou shalt
smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:
When the LORD your God has delivered it into your hand, you must put every male to the sword.
And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their
hands over the
heifer that is
beheaded in the valley:
Then all the elders of the city nearest the
victim shall wash their
hands by the stream over the
heifer whose neck has been broken,
And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.
and they shall declare, “Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see it.
When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine
hands, and thou hast taken them
captive,
When you go to war against your enemies and the LORD your God delivers them into your
hand and you take them
captive,
And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou
hang him on a tree:
If a man has committed a sin worthy of death, and he is executed, and you
hang his body on a tree,
His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise
bury him that day; (for he that is
hanged is
accursed of God;) that thy land be not
defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
you must not leave the body on the tree overnight, but you must be sure to
bury him that day, because
anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s
curse. You must not
defile the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.
Unto a stranger thou mayest
lend upon
usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not
lend upon
usury: that the LORD thy God may
