home, my daughters. Why would you go with me? Are there still sons in my
womb to become your husbands?
Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;
Return
home, my daughters. Go on, for I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was hope for me to have a husband
tonight and to bear sons,

“Look,” said
Naomi, “your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and her gods; follow her back
home.”
I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me
home again empty: why then call ye me
Naomi, seeing the LORD hath

Almighty hath
afflicted me?
I went away full, but the LORD has brought me back empty. Why call me
Naomi? After all, the LORD has
testified against me, and the

smote us; it was a chance that happened to us.

disaster. But if it does not, then we will know that it was not His hand that punished us and that it happened by chance.”

hurry to
Bethlehem, his
hometown, because there is an annual sacrifice for his whole clan.’

doth speak this thing as one which is
faulty, in that the king
doth not
fetch home again his banished.

convict himself, since he has not brought back his own banished son?

abide with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile.

saddled his

donkey and set out for his house in his

mound of stones over him. Meanwhile, all the Israelites fled, each to his
home.
Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king
doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.
