line of confusion, and the stones of
emptiness.

line; he marks it out with a

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which
swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

line of Judah, who
swear by the name of the LORD, who
invoke the God of Israel— but not in truth or righteousness—
They shall lay hold on bow and
spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they
ride upon horses, set in
array as men for war against thee, O daughter of
Zion.

grasp the bow and
spear; they are cruel and
merciless. Their voice roars like the sea, and they
ride upon horses,
lined up like men in formation against you, O Daughter of
Zion.”

For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in
array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty
expert man; none shall return in vain.
For behold, I
stir up and bring against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the land of the north. They will
line up against her; from the north she will be captured. Their arrows will be like skilled warriors who do not return empty-handed.
Put
yourselves in
array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her,
spare no arrows: for she hath
sinned against the LORD.
Line up in formation around Babylon, all you who draw the bow! Shoot at her!
Spare no arrows! For she has
sinned against the LORD.
They shall hold the bow and the
lance: they are cruel, and will not
shew mercy: their voice shall
roar like the sea, and they shall

array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.
They
grasp the bow and
spear; they are cruel and
merciless. Their voice roars like the sea, and they
ride upon horses,
lined up like men in formation against you, O Daughter of Babylon.
The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of
Zion: he hath stretched out a
line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the
rampart and the wall to
lament; they
languished together.
The LORD determined to destroy the wall of the Daughter of
Zion. He stretched out a measuring
line and did not withdraw His hand from destroying. He made the ramparts and walls
lament; together they waste away.

cherub,

threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with
linen, which had the writer’s
inkhorn by his side;
Then the glory of the God of Israel rose from above the
cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the
threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed in
linen who had the writing
kit at his side.
And, behold, the man clothed with
linen, which had the
inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

linen with the writing
kit at his side reported back, “I have done as You commanded.”

linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the

scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.

linen, “Go inside the
wheelwork beneath the
cherubim. Fill your hands with burning coals from among the
cherubim and

linen, who received it and went out.
I clothed thee also with
broidered work, and
shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I
girded thee about with fine
linen, and I covered thee with silk.

embroidered cloth and gave you
sandals of fine leather. I
wrapped you in fine
linen and covered you with silk.

wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy

So you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was made of fine
linen, silk, and
embroidered cloth. You
ate fine flour, honey, and oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be queen.
Fine
linen with
broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee.

gateway with a
linen cord and a measuring rod in his hand.

They shall have
linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have
linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not
gird themselves with any thing that causeth
sweat.

linen turbans on their heads and
linen undergarments around their waists. They must not wear anything that makes them
perspire.

ankle-deep water.

And I heard the man clothed in
linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and
sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to
scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
And the man dressed in
linen, who was above the waters of the river, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him
swear by Him who lives
forever, saying, “It will be for a time, and times, and half a time. When the power of the holy people has finally been
shattered, all these things will be completed.”
For their mother hath played the
harlot: she that conceived them hath done
shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.
For their mother has played the
harlot and has conceived them in disgrace. For she thought, ‘I will go after my lovers, who give me bread and water, wool and
linen, oil and drink.’
Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.

And the LORD said unto me,
Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
“
Amos, what do you see?” asked the LORD. “A
plumb line,” I replied. “Behold,” said the Lord, “I am setting a
plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer
spare them:
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an
harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by
line; and thou shalt die in a
polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a
prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring
line, and you
yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”

For who hath
despised the day of small things? for they shall
rejoice, and shall see the
plummet in the hand of
Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and
fro through the whole earth.
For who has
despised the day of small things? But these seven eyes of the LORD, which
scan the whole earth, will
rejoice when they see the
plumb line in the hand of
Zerubbabel.”

wrapped it in a clean
linen cloth,
So Joseph took the body,
wrapped it in a clean
linen cloth,
And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:
One young man who had been following Jesus was wearing a linen cloth around his body. They caught hold of him,
And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.
but he pulled free of the linen cloth and ran away naked.
And he bought fine
linen, and took him down, and
wrapped him in the
linen, and laid him in a
sepulchre which was
hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the
sepulchre.
So Joseph bought a
linen cloth, took down the body of Jesus,
wrapped it in the cloth, and placed it in a tomb that had been cut out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance to the tomb.
And Joseph also went up from

linen, and fared
sumptuously every day:

linen, who lived each day in
joyous splendor.
And he took it down, and
wrapped it in
linen, and laid it in a
sepulchre that was
hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
Then he took it down,
wrapped it in a
linen cloth, and placed it in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had yet been laid.
Then arose Peter, and ran unto the
sepulchre; and
stooping down, he
beheld the
linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. And after bending down and seeing only the linen cloths, he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.

graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a

linen, and his face
wrapped in a cloth. “
Unwrap him and let him go,” Jesus told them.

linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to

wrapped it in
linen cloths with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom.
And he
stooping down, and looking in, saw the
linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.
He bent down and looked in at the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the
sepulchre, and
seeth the
linen clothes lie,
Simon Peter arrived just after him. He entered the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there.
And the
napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the
linen clothes, but
wrapped together in a place by itself.
The cloth that had been around Jesus’ head was rolled up, lying separate from the linen cloths.
To
preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to
boast in another man’s
line of things made ready to our hand.
so that we can
preach the gospel in the regions beyond you. Then we will not be
boasting in the work already done in another man’s territory.
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a
Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
When I saw that they were not walking in
line with the truth of the gospel, I said to
Cephas in front of them all, “If you, who are a
Jew, live like a
Gentile and not like a
Jew, how can you
compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

girded with golden sashes around their chests.

And saying,
Alas,
alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine
linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
saying: “
Woe,
woe to the great city, clothed in fine
linen and purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!
And to her was granted that she should be
arrayed in fine
linen, clean and white: for the fine
linen is the righteousness of saints.
She was given clothing of fine linen, bright and pure.” For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints.

linen frock.
