The
pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they
shout for joy, they also sing.
The
pastures are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are decked with grain. They
shout in triumph; indeed, they sing.
O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why
doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy
pasture?
Why have You rejected us
forever, O God? Why does Your anger
smolder against the sheep of Your
pasture?
I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
I considered the days of old, the years long in the past.
O remember not against us former
iniquities: let thy tender
mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
Do not hold
past sins against us; let Your
compassion come quickly, for we are brought low.
So we thy people and sheep of thy
pasture will give thee
thanks for ever: we will
shew forth thy praise to all generations.
Then we Your people, the sheep of Your
pasture, will
thank You
forever; from generation to generation we will declare Your praise.
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
who said, “Let us possess for ourselves the pastures of God.”
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as
yesterday when it is
past, and as a watch in the night.
For in Your sight a thousand years are but a day that passes, or a watch of the night.
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
For He is our God, and we are the people of His
pasture, the sheep under His care.
Today, if you hear His voice,
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
I went by the field of the
slothful, and by the
vineyard of the man void of understanding;
I went
past the field of a slacker and by the
vineyard of a man lacking judgment.
That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
What exists has already been, and what will be has already been, for God will call to account what has passed.
Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at
noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
Tell me, O one I love, where do you
pasture your sheep? Where do you rest them at
midday? Why should I be like a
veiled woman beside the flocks of your companions?
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
For now the winter is past; the rain is over and gone.
My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the
lilies.
My beloved is mine and I am his; he
pastures his flock among the
lilies.
My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather
lilies.
My beloved has gone down to his garden, to the beds of spices, to
pasture his flock in the gardens and to gather
lilies.
I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the
lilies.
I belong to my beloved and he belongs to me; he
pastures his flock among the
lilies.
Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.
Lambs will
graze as in their own
pastures, and strangers will feed in the ruins of the wealthy.
Nevertheless, there will be no more
gloom for those in distress. In the
past He humbled the land of
Zebulun and the land of
Naphtali, but in the future He will honor the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the nations:
And the
firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the
needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall
slay thy
remnant.
Then the
firstborn of the poor will find
pasture, and the
needy will lie down in safety, but I will kill your root by famine, and your
remnant will be slain.
Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt
sow the ground
withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and
plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large
pastures.
Then He will send rain for the seed that you have sown in the ground, and the food that comes from your land will be rich and
plentiful. On that day your cattle will
graze in open
pastures.
Because the palaces shall be
forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild
asses, a
pasture of flocks;
Look upon
Zion, the city of our
solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet
habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
Look upon
Zion, the city of our appointed feasts. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful
pasture, a tent that does not
wander; its tent pegs will not be pulled up, nor will any of its cords be broken.
Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and
beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous?
yea, there is none that sheweth,
yea, there is none that declareth,
yea, there is none that heareth your words.
Who has declared this from the beginning, so that we may know, and from times
past, so that we may say: ‘He was right’? No one
announced it, no one
foretold it, no one heard your words.
“I have kept silent from ages
past; I have remained quiet and restrained. But now I will
groan like a woman in labor; I will at once
gasp and
pant.
That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness,
Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their
pastures shall be in all high places.
to say to the prisoners, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Show
yourselves.’ They will feed along the pathways, and find
pasture on every barren hill.
Awake,
awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD;
awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut
Rahab, and wounded the
dragon?
Awake,
awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD.
Wake up as in days
past, as in generations of old. Was it not You who cut
Rahab to pieces, who pierced through the
dragon?
And
Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of
Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.
Sharon will become a
pasture for flocks, and the Valley of
Achor a resting place for herds, for My people who seek Me.
The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the
pastors also
transgressed against me, and the prophets
prophesied by
Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
The priests did not ask, ‘Where is the LORD?’ The experts in the law no longer knew Me, and the leaders rebelled against Me. The prophets
prophesied by
Baal and followed useless idols.
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
Then I will give you
shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
“The harvest has passed, the summer has ended, but we have not been saved.”
For the mountains will I take up a
weeping and
wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a
lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
I will take up a
weeping and
wailing for the mountains, a
dirge over the wilderness
pasture, for they have been
scorched so no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. Both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled; they have gone away.
For the
pastors are become
brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not
prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
For the
shepherds have become senseless; they do not seek the LORD. Therefore they have not
prospered, and all their flock is scattered.
Many
pastors have destroyed my
vineyard, they have
trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a
desolate wilderness.
And the wild
asses did stand in the high places, they
snuffed up the wind like
dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
Wild
donkeys stand on barren heights; they
pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail for lack of
pasture.”
As for me, I have not
hastened from being a
pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the
woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
But I have not run away from being Your
shepherd; I have not desired the day of
despair. You know that the
utterance of my lips was spoken in Your presence.
Enquire, I pray thee, of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his
wondrous works, that he may go up from us.
“Please inquire of the LORD on our behalf, since
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is
waging war against us. Perhaps the LORD will perform for us something like all His
past wonders, so that
Nebuchadnezzar will withdraw from us.”
The wind shall eat up all thy
pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be
ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
The wind will drive away all your
shepherds, and your lovers will go into captivity. Then you will be
ashamed and
humiliated because of all your wickedness.
Woe be unto the
pastors that destroy and
scatter the sheep of my
pasture! saith the LORD.
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says about the
shepherds who tend My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your deeds, declares the LORD.
And I will gather the
remnant of my flock out of all countries
whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
Then I Myself will gather the
remnant of My flock from all the lands to which I have banished them, and I will return them to their
pasture, where they will be fruitful and multiply.
For the land is full of adulterers; for because of
swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
For the land is full of adulterers— because of the
curse, the land mourns and the
pastures of the wilderness have dried up— their course is evil and their power is misused.
Therefore
prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall
roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy
habitation; he shall
mightily roar upon his
habitation; he shall give a
shout, as they that
tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
So you are to
prophesy all these words against them and say to them: ‘The LORD will
roar from on high; He will raise His voice from His holy
habitation. He will
roar loudly over His
pasture; like those who
tread the grapes, He will call out with a
shout against all the inhabitants of the earth.
A voice of the cry of the
shepherds, and an
howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath
spoiled their
pasture.
Hear the cry of the
shepherds, the
wailing of the leaders of the flock, for the LORD is destroying their
pasture.
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have loved thee with an
everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
The LORD appeared to us in the
past, saying: “I have loved you with an
everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with loving devotion.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is
desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an
habitation of
shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: In this
desolate place, without man or beast, and in all its cities, there will once more be
pastures for
shepherds to rest their flocks.
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the
habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may
appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will
appoint me the time? and who is that
shepherd that will stand before me?
Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered
pasture. For in an instant I will
chase Edom from her land. Who is the chosen one I will
appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can
challenge Me? What
shepherd can stand against Me?”
Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against
Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations
desolate with them.
Therefore hear the plans that the LORD has drawn up against
Edom and the strategies He has devised against the people of Teman: Surely the little ones of the flock will be
dragged away; certainly their
pasture will be made
desolate because of them.
All who found them
devoured them, and their enemies said, ‘We are not guilty, for they have
sinned against the LORD, their true
pasture, the LORD, the hope of their fathers.’
And I will bring Israel again to his
habitation, and he shall feed on
Carmel and
Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and
Gilead.
I will return Israel to his
pasture, and he will
graze on
Carmel and
Bashan; his soul will be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and
Gilead.
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the
habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may
appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will
appoint me the time? and who is that
shepherd that will stand before me?
Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered
pasture. For in an instant I will
chase Babylon from her land. Who is the chosen one I will
appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can
challenge Me? What
shepherd can stand against Me?”
Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their
habitation desolate with them.
Therefore hear the plans that the LORD has drawn up against Babylon and the strategies He has devised against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the little ones of the flock will be
dragged away; certainly their
pasture will be made
desolate because of them.
And from the daughter of
Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no
pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
All the
splendor has departed from the Daughter of
Zion. Her princes are like deer that find no
pasture; they lack the strength to
flee in the face of the hunter.
And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the
Ammonites a couchingplace for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will make Rabbah a
pasture for camels, and
Ammon a resting place for sheep. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’
I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
I will feed them in good
pasture, and the lofty mountains of Israel will be their
grazing land. There they will lie down in a good
grazing land; they will feed in rich
pasture on the mountains of Israel.
Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good
pasture, but ye must
tread down with your feet the residue of your
pastures? and to have
drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet?
Is it not enough for you to feed on the good
pasture? Must you also
trample the rest of the
pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink the clear waters? Must you also
muddy the rest with your feet?
And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.
‘You are My flock, the sheep of My pasture, My people, and I am your God,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all
Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with
despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Surely in My burning zeal I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all
Edom, who took My land as their own possession with wholehearted joy and utter contempt, so that its
pastureland became
plunder.
And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat
pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make
reconciliation for them, saith the Lord GOD.
And one sheep shall be given from each flock of two hundred from the well-watered
pastures of Israel. These are for the grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings, to make
atonement for the people, declares the Lord GOD.
And the five thousand, that are left in the breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, shall be a
profane place for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and the city shall be in the midst thereof.
The remaining area, 5,000 cubits wide and 25,000 cubits long, will be for common use by the city, for houses, and for pastureland. The city will be in the center of it
And the suburbs of the city shall be toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the south two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty.
The pastureland of the city will extend 250 cubits to the north, 250 cubits to the south, 250 cubits to the east, and 250 cubits to the west.
According to their
pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was
exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
When they had
pasture, they became satisfied; when they were satisfied, their hearts became proud, and as a result they
forgot Me.
How do the beasts
groan! the herds of cattle are
perplexed, because they have no
pasture;
yea, the flocks of sheep are made
desolate.
How the cattle
groan! The herds
wander in confusion because they have no
pasture. Even the flocks of sheep are suffering.
O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath
devoured the
pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
To You, O LORD, I call, for fire has consumed the open
pastures and flames have
scorched all the trees of the field.
The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath
devoured the
pastures of the wilderness.
Even the beasts of the field
pant for You, for the streams of water have dried up, and fire has consumed the open
pastures.
Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
Do not be afraid, O beasts of the field, for the open pastures have turned green, the trees bear their fruit, and the fig tree and vine yield their best.
And he said, The LORD will
roar from
Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the
shepherds shall
mourn, and the top of
Carmel shall wither.
I will surely
assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the
remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of
Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will collect the
remnant of Israel. I will bring them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in the midst of its
pasture— a
noisy throng.
Shepherd with Your staff Your people, the flock of Your inheritance. They live alone in a
woodland, surrounded by
pastures. Let them
graze in
Bashan and
Gilead, as in the days of old.
And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for
shepherds, and folds for flocks.
So the
seacoast will become a land of
pastures, with wells for
shepherds and folds for sheep.
And the coast shall be for the
remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed
thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
The coast will belong to the
remnant of the house of Judah; there they will find
pasture. They will lie down in the evening among the houses of Ashkelon, for the LORD their God will attend to them and restore their
captives.
But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts.
But now I will not treat the
remnant of this people as I did in the
past,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;
This is what the LORD my God says: “Pasture the flock marked for slaughter,
And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two
staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.
So I
pastured the flock marked for slaughter, especially the
afflicted of the flock. Then I took for myself two staffs, calling one Favor and the other Union, and I
pastured the flock.
And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now
past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and
buy themselves
victuals.
When evening came, the disciples came to Him and said, “This is a
desolate place, and the hour is already late. Dismiss the crowds so they can go to the villages and
buy themselves some food.”
And when the sabbath was
past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and
Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and
anoint him.
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and
Salome bought spices so they could go and
anoint the body of Jesus.
As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
as He spoke through His holy prophets, those of ages past,
And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
After the voice had spoken, only Jesus was present with them. The disciples kept this to themselves, and in those days they did not tell
anyone what they had seen.
Then said he unto the dresser of his
vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
So he said to the keeper of the
vineyard, ‘Look, for the
past three years I have come to search for fruit on this fig tree and
haven’t found any. Therefore cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them,
doth not leave the
ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
“What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the
ninety-nine in the
pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
I am the gate. If
anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find
pasture.
When they were
past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own
accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and
forthwith the angel departed from him.
They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city, which opened for them by itself. When they had gone outside and walked the length of one block, the angel suddenly left him.
Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
In past generations, He let all nations go their own way.
For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not
spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of
Pentecost.
Paul had decided to sail
past Ephesus to avoid
spending time in the province of Asia, because he was in a
hurry to reach Jerusalem, if possible, by the day of
Pentecost.
Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already
past, Paul
admonished them,
By now much time had passed, and the voyage had already become dangerous because it was after the Fast. So Paul
advised them,
Whom God hath set forth to be a
propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the
forbearance of God;
For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Just as you who formerly disobeyed God have now received mercy through their disobedience,
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and untraceable His ways!
For
whatsoever things were written
aforetime were written for our learning, that we through
patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
For everything that was written in the
past was written for our instruction, so that through
endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.
Now to him that is of power to
stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the
mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Now to Him who is able to
strengthen you by my gospel and by the
proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the
mystery concealed for ages
past For ye have heard of my conversation in time
past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I
persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
For you have heard of my former way of life in
Judaism, how severely I
persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.
But they had heard only, That he which
persecuted us in times
past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
They only heard the account: “The man who formerly
persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
Envyings, murders,
drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time
past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God.
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
in which you used to walk when you
conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience.
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times
past in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
All of us also lived among them at one time,
fulfilling the cravings of our flesh and
indulging its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature children of wrath.
Wherefore remember, that ye being in time
past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called
Uncircumcision by that which is called the
Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
Therefore remember that formerly you who are Gentiles in the flesh and called
uncircumcised by the so-called
circumcision (that done in the body by human hands)—
And to make all men see what is the
fellowship of the
mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been
hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some,
pastors and teachers;
And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be
evangelists, and some to be
pastors and teachers,
Having lost all sense of shame, they have given themselves over to
sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity, with a
craving for more.
Who concerning the truth have
erred, saying that the resurrection is
past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
who have
deviated from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already occurred, and they undermine the faith of some.
Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
