Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
Thou
shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers
shall never be
renowned.
You will not join them in burial, since you have destroyed your land and slaughtered your own people. The offspring of the wicked will never again be mentioned.
The LORD of hosts hath
sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so
shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so
shall it stand:
The LORD of Hosts has
sworn: “Surely, as I have
planned, so will it be; as I have purposed, so will it stand.
That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains
tread him under foot: then
shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
I will break Assyria in My land; I will
trample him on My mountain. His yoke will be taken off My people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.”
For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who
shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who
shall turn it back?
The LORD of Hosts has purposed, and who can
thwart Him? His hand is outstretched, so who can turn it back?
Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that
smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root
shall come forth a
cockatrice, and his fruit
shall be a
fiery flying serpent.
Do not
rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken. For a
viper will spring from the root of the
snake, and a flying serpent from its egg.
And the
firstborn of the poor
shall feed, and the
needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he
shall slay thy
remnant.
Then the
firstborn of the poor will find pasture, and the
needy will lie down in safety, but I will kill your root by famine, and your
remnant will be slain.
Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there
shall come from the north a smoke, and none
shall be alone in his appointed times.
Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city!
Melt away, all you Philistines! For a cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there are no stragglers in its ranks.
What
shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded
Zion, and the poor of his people
shall trust in it.
What answer will be given to the envoys of that nation? “The LORD has founded
Zion, where His
afflicted people will find refuge.”
He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to
weep: Moab
shall howl over
Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads
shall be
baldness, and every
beard cut off.
Dibon goes up to its temple to
weep at its high places. Moab wails over
Nebo, as well as over Medeba. Every head is
shaved, every
beard is cut off.
In their streets they
shall gird themselves with
sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one
shall howl,
weeping abundantly.
In its streets they wear
sackcloth; on the rooftops and in the public squares they all
wail, falling down
weeping.
And
Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice
shall be heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab
shall cry out; his life
shall be
grievous unto him.
Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voices are heard as far as Jahaz. Therefore the soldiers of Moab cry out; their souls
tremble within.
My heart
shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives
shall flee unto Zoar, an
heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with
weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they
shall raise up a cry of destruction.
My heart
cries out over Moab; her fugitives
flee as far as Zoar, as far as Eglath-shelishiyah. With
weeping they
ascend the slope of Luhith; they
lament their destruction on the road to Horonaim.
For the waters of Nimrim
shall be
desolate: for the hay is
withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing.
The waters of Nimrim are dried up, and the grass is
withered; the vegetation is gone, and the
greenery is no more.
Therefore the abundance they have
gotten, and that which they have laid up,
shall they carry away to the
brook of the willows.
So they carry their wealth and belongings over the
Brook of the Willows.
For the waters of Dimon
shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the
remnant of the land.
The waters of Dimon are full of blood, but I will bring more upon Dimon— a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the
remnant of the land.
For it
shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab
shall be at the fords of
Arnon.
Like
fluttering birds pushed out of the nest, so are the daughters of Moab at the fords of the
Arnon:
And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
in loving devotion a throne will be established in the tent of David. A judge seeking justice and
hastening righteousness will sit on it in faithfulness.
We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his
haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies
shall not be so.
Therefore
shall Moab
howl for Moab, every one
shall howl: for the foundations of Kir-hareseth
shall ye
mourn; surely they are
stricken.
Therefore let Moab
wail; let them
wail together for Moab.
Moan for the
raisin cakes of Kir-hareseth, you who are utterly
stricken.
And
gladness is taken away, and joy out of the
plentiful field; and in the vineyards there
shall be no singing, neither
shall there be
shouting: the treaders
shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their
vintage shouting to cease.
Joy and
gladness are removed from the
orchard; no one sings or shouts in the vineyards. No one tramples the grapes in the winepresses; I have put an end to the
cheering.
Wherefore my
bowels shall sound like an
harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-haresh.
Therefore my heart laments for Moab like a
harp, my inmost being for Kir-heres.
And it
shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is
weary on the high place, that he
shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he
shall not prevail.
When Moab appears on the high place, when he wearies himself and enters his sanctuary to pray, it will do him no good.
But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an
hireling, and the glory of Moab
shall be
contemned, with all that great multitude; and the
remnant shall be very small and feeble.
And now the LORD says, “In three years, as a
hired worker counts the years, Moab’s
splendor will become an object of contempt, with all her many people. And those who are left will be few and feeble.”
The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it
shall be a
ruinous heap.
This is the burden against Damascus: “Behold, Damascus is no longer a city; it has become a
heap of ruins.
The cities of Aroer are
forsaken: they
shall be for flocks, which
shall lie down, and none
shall make them afraid.
The cities of Aroer are
forsaken; they will be left to the flocks, which will lie down with no one to fear.
The fortress also
shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the
remnant of Syria: they
shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.
The fortress will disappear from Ephraim, and the sovereignty from Damascus. The
remnant of
Aram will be like the
splendor of the Israelites,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
And in that day it
shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob
shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh
shall wax
lean.
“In that day the
splendor of Jacob will
fade, and the fat of his body will waste away,
And it
shall be as when the
harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it
shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of
Rephaim.
as the
reaper gathers the standing grain and harvests the ears with his arm, as one gleans heads of grain in the Valley of
Rephaim.
Yet
gleaning grapes
shall be left in it, as the
shaking of an olive tree, two or three
berries in the top of the
uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel.
Yet gleanings will remain, like an olive tree that has been beaten— two or three
berries atop the tree, four or five on its fruitful branches,” declares the LORD, the God of Israel.
At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
In that day men will look to their Maker and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.
And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.
They will not look to the altars they have fashioned with their hands or to the Asherahs and incense altars they have made with their fingers.
In that day
shall his strong cities be as a
forsaken bough, and an
uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there
shall be
desolation.
In that day their strong cities will be like
forsaken thickets and summits, abandoned to the Israelites and to utter
desolation.
Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips:
For you have forgotten the God of your salvation and failed to remember the Rock of your refuge. Therefore, though you
cultivate delightful plots and set out cuttings from
exotic vines—
In the day
shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning
shalt thou make thy seed to
flourish: but the harvest
shall be a
heap in the day of grief and of
desperate sorrow.
though on the day you plant you make them grow, and on that morning you help your seed
sprout— yet the harvest will
vanish on the day of disease and incurable pain.
The nations
shall rush like the
rushing of many waters: but God
shall rebuke them, and they
shall flee far off, and
shall be
chased as the
chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the
whirlwind.
The nations
rage like the
rush of many waters. He rebukes them, and they
flee far away, driven before the wind like
chaff on the hills, like tumbleweeds before a
gale.
For
afore the harvest, when the
bud is perfect, and the
sour grape is
ripening in the flower, he
shall both cut off the sprigs with pruninghooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
For before the harvest, when the
blossom is gone and the flower becomes a
ripening grape, He will cut off the shoots with a
pruning knife and remove and discard the branches.
They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey, and to the beasts of the land. The birds will feed on them in summer, and all the wild animals in winter.
In that time
shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and
peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and
trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have
spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount
Zion.
At that time gifts will be brought to the LORD of Hosts— from a people tall and smooth-
skinned, from a people widely feared, from a powerful nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers— to Mount
Zion, the place of the Name of the LORD of Hosts.
The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and
shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt
shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt
shall melt in the midst of it.
This is the burden against Egypt: Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud; He is coming to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will
tremble before Him, and the hearts of the Egyptians will
melt within them.
And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
“So I will
incite Egyptian against Egyptian; brother will fight against brother,
neighbor against
neighbor, city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be
emptied out from among them, and I will
frustrate their plans, so that they will resort to idols and spirits of the dead, to mediums and spiritists.
And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
I will deliver the Egyptians into the hands of harsh masters, and a fierce king will rule over them,” declares the Lord GOD of Hosts.
And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
The waters of the Nile will dry up, and the riverbed will be
parched and empty.
And they
shall turn the rivers far away; and the
brooks of defence
shall be
emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags
shall wither.
The canals will
stink; the streams of Egypt will
trickle and dry up; the reeds and rushes will wither.
The paper reeds by the
brooks, by the mouth of the
brooks, and every thing sown by the
brooks,
shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
The bulrushes by the Nile, by the mouth of the river, and all the fields sown along the Nile, will wither, blow away, and be no more.
The fishers also
shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the
brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters
shall languish.
Then the
fishermen will
mourn, all who cast a hook into the Nile will
lament, and those who spread nets on the waters will pine away.
Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that
weave networks,
shall be confounded.
The workers in flax will be dismayed, and the weavers of fine linen will turn pale.
And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.
The workers in cloth will be
dejected, and all the
hired workers will be sick at heart.
Neither
shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or
rush, may do.
There is nothing Egypt can do— head or tail, palm or reed.
In that day
shall Egypt be like unto women: and it
shall be afraid and fear because of the
shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will
tremble with fear beneath the
uplifted hand of the LORD of Hosts, when He brandishes it against them.
And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
The land of Judah will bring terror to Egypt; whenever Judah is mentioned, Egypt will
tremble over what the LORD of Hosts has
planned against it.
In that day
shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of
Canaan, and
swear to the LORD of hosts; one
shall be called, The city of destruction.
In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of
Canaan and
swear allegiance to the LORD of Hosts. One of them will be called the City of the Sun.
In that day
shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a
pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.
In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the center of the land of Egypt, and a
pillar to the LORD near her border.
And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
It will be a sign and a witness to the LORD of Hosts in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, He will send them a
savior and defender to
rescue them.
And the LORD
shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians
shall know the LORD in that day, and
shall do sacrifice and
oblation;
yea, they
shall vow a
vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
The LORD will make Himself known to Egypt, and on that day Egypt will acknowledge the LORD. They will worship with sacrifices and offerings; they will make vows to the LORD and
fulfill them.
And the LORD
shall smite Egypt: he
shall smite and
heal it: and they
shall return even to the LORD, and he
shall be intreated of them, and
shall heal them.
And the LORD will strike Egypt with a plague; He will strike them but
heal them. They will turn to the LORD, and He will hear their prayers and
heal them.
In that day
shall there be a
highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian
shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians
shall serve with the Assyrians.
In that day there will be a
highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt, and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together.
In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
In that day Israel will join a three-party alliance with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing upon the earth.
Whom the LORD of hosts
shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
The LORD of Hosts will
bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt My people, Assyria My
handiwork, and Israel My inheritance.”
So
shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians
captives, young and old, naked and
barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
so the king of Assyria will lead away the
captives of Egypt and the exiles of
Cush, young and old alike, naked and
barefoot, with bared buttocks—to Egypt’s shame.
And they
shall be afraid and
ashamed of
Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
Those who made
Cush their hope and Egypt their
boast will be dismayed and
ashamed.
And the inhabitant of this isle
shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation,
whither we
flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how
shall we escape?
And on that day the dwellers of this coastland will say, ‘See what has happened to our source of hope, those to whom we fled for help and
deliverance from the king of Assyria! How then can we escape?’”
The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia
shall ye
lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.
This is the burden against Arabia: In the thickets of Arabia you must
lodge, O caravans of Dedanites.
For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an
hireling, and all the glory of
Kedar shall fail:
For this is what the Lord says to me: “Within one year, as a
hired worker would count it, all the glory of
Kedar will be gone.
And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of
Kedar,
shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.
The remaining archers, the warriors of
Kedar, will be few.” For the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
And it
shall come to pass, that thy choicest valleys
shall be full of
chariots, and the
horsemen shall set themselves in
array at the gate.
Your choicest valleys are full of
chariots, and
horsemen are posted at the gates.
And behold joy and
gladness,
slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to
morrow we
shall die.
But look, there is joy and
gladness,
butchering of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, eating of meat and drinking of wine: “Let us eat and drink, for
tomorrow we die!”
And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity
shall not be
purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
The LORD of Hosts has revealed in my hearing: “Until your dying day, this sin of yours will never be
atoned for,” says the Lord GOD of Hosts.
He will surely violently turn and
toss thee like a ball into a large country: there
shalt thou die, and there the
chariots of thy glory
shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.
roll you into a ball, and
sling you into a wide land. There you will die, and there your glorious
chariots will remain—a disgrace to the house of your master.
And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.
I will remove you from office, and you will be
ousted from your position.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
On that day I will
summon My servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah.
And I will
clothe him with thy
robe, and
strengthen him with thy
girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he
shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
I will
clothe him with your
robe and
tie your
sash around him. I will put your authority in his hand, and he will be a father to the dwellers of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
And I will
fasten him as a
nail in a sure place; and he
shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house.
I will drive him like a
peg into a firm place, and he will be a throne of glory for the house of his father.
And they
shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
So they will
hang on him all the glory of his father’s house: the descendants and the offshoots—all the lesser vessels, from
bowls to every kind of
jar.
In that day, saith the LORD of hosts,
shall the
nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it
shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
In that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, the
peg driven into a firm place will give way; it will be
sheared off and fall, and the load upon it will be cut down.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.
As at the report concerning Egypt, so
shall they be
sorely pained at the report of Tyre.
When the report reaches Egypt, they will
writhe in
agony over the news of Tyre.
Is this your
joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own feet
shall carry her
afar off to
sojourn.
Is this your
jubilant city, whose origin is from antiquity, whose feet have taken her to settle far away?
And he said, Thou
shalt no more
rejoice, O thou
oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to
Chittim; there also
shalt thou have no rest.
He said, “You
shall rejoice no more, O
oppressed Virgin Daughter of
Sidon. Get up and cross over to
Cyprus— even there you will find no rest.”
And it
shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre
shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years
shall Tyre sing as an
harlot.
At that time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years—the span of a king’s life. But at the end of seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the
harlot:
And it
shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she
shall turn to her
hire, and
shall commit
fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
And at the end of seventy years, the LORD will restore Tyre. Then she will return to
hire as a
prostitute and sell herself to all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.
Yet her profits and wages will be set apart to the LORD; they will not be stored or saved, for her profit will go to those who live before the LORD, for abundant food and fine clothing.
And it
shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the
maid, so with her
mistress; as with the
buyer, so with the seller; as with the
lender, so with the
borrower; as with the taker of
usury, so with the giver of
usury to him.
The land
shall be utterly
emptied, and utterly
spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.
The earth will be utterly laid waste and thoroughly
plundered. For the LORD has spoken this word.
They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.
They no longer sing and drink wine; strong drink is bitter to those who
consume it.
When thus it
shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there
shall be as the
shaking of an olive tree, and as the
gleaning grapes when the
vintage is done.
So will it be on the earth and among the nations, like a harvested olive tree, like a
gleaning after a
grape harvest.
They
shall lift up their voice, they
shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they
shall cry
aloud from the sea.
They raise their voices, they
shout for joy; from the west they
proclaim the majesty of the LORD.
And it
shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear
shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit
shall be taken in the
snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do
shake.
Whoever flees the sound of
panic will fall into the pit, and
whoever climbs from the pit will be caught in the
snare. For the windows of heaven are open, and the foundations of the earth are
shaken.
The earth
shall reel to and
fro like a
drunkard, and
shall be removed like a
cottage; and the
transgression thereof
shall be heavy upon it; and it
shall fall, and not rise again.
The earth
staggers like a
drunkard and sways like a
shack. Earth’s rebellion weighs it down, and it falls, never to rise again.
And it
shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD
shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
In that day the LORD will
punish the host of heaven above and the kings of the earth below.
And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
They will be gathered together like prisoners in a pit. They will be confined to a
dungeon and punished after many days.
Then the moon
shall be confounded, and the sun
ashamed, when the LORD of hosts
shall reign in mount
Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
The moon will be confounded and the sun will be
ashamed; for the LORD of Hosts will reign on Mount
Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders with great glory.
For thou hast made of a city an
heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it
shall never be built.
Indeed, You have made the city a
heap of
rubble, the fortified town a ruin. The fortress of strangers is a city no more; it will never be rebuilt.
Therefore
shall the strong people
glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations
shall fear thee.
Therefore, a strong people will honor You. The cities of
ruthless nations will
revere You.
Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
like heat in a dry land. You
subdue the
uproar of foreigners. As the shade of a cloud cools the heat, so the song of the
ruthless is silenced.
And in this mountain
shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the
lees, of fat things full of
marrow, of wines on the
lees well refined.
On this mountain the LORD of Hosts will prepare a
banquet for all the peoples, a feast of aged wine, of choice meat, of finely aged wine.
He will
swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will
wipe away tears from off all faces; and the
rebuke of his people
shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
He will
swallow up death
forever. The Lord GOD will
wipe away the tears from every face and remove the disgrace of His people from the whole earth. For the LORD has spoken.
And it
shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be
glad and
rejoice in his salvation.
And in that day it will be said, “Surely this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He has saved us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited. Let us
rejoice and be
glad in His salvation.”
For in this mountain
shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab
shall be
trodden down under him, even as straw is
trodden down for the
dunghill.
For the hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain. But Moab will be
trampled in his place as straw is
trodden into the dung pile.
And he
shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to
swim: and he
shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
He will spread out his hands within it, as a
swimmer spreads his arms to
swim. His pride will be brought low,
despite the skill of his hands.
