shall make an ark of
shittim wood: two cubits and a half
shall be the length thereof, and a
cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a
cubit and a half the height thereof.
And they are to construct an ark of
acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, a
cubit and a half wide, and a
cubit and a half high.
And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it.

fasten them to its four feet, two rings on one side and two on the other.
The
staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they

The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed.
And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee.
And place inside the ark the Testimony, which I will give you.
And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half
shall be the length thereof, and a
cubit and a half the breadth thereof.
And you are to construct a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and a
cubit and a half wide.
And make one
cherub on the one end, and the other
cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat
shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
one
cherub on one end and one on the other, all made from one piece of gold.
And the
cherubim shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces
shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat
shall the faces of the cherubims be.
And the
cherubim are to have wings that spread upward, overshadowing the mercy seat. The
cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the mercy seat.
And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.
Set the mercy seat
atop the ark, and put the Testimony that I will give you into the ark.
Thou shalt also make a table of
shittim wood: two cubits
shall be the length thereof, and a
cubit the breadth thereof, and a
cubit and a half the height thereof.
You are also to make a table of
acacia wood two cubits long, a
cubit wide, and a
cubit and a half high.
Over against the border
shall the rings be for places of the
staves to bear the table.
The rings are to be close to the
rim, to serve as holders for the poles used to carry the table.
And thou shalt make a
candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work
shall the
candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his
bowls, his knops, and his flowers,
shall be of the same.
Then you are to make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. It shall be made of one piece, including its base and shaft, its cups, and its buds and petals.
And six branches
shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the
candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the
candlestick out of the other side:
Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other.
And in the
candlestick shall be four
bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.
And on the lampstand there
shall be four cups shaped like
almond blossoms with buds and petals.
And there
shall be a
knop under two branches of the same, and a
knop under two branches of the same, and a
knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the
candlestick.
For the six branches that extend from the lampstand, a
bud must be under the first pair of branches, a
bud under the second pair, and a
bud under the third pair.
Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold.
The buds and branches are to be all of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.
And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it.
Make seven lamps and set them up on the lampstand so that they
illuminate the area in front of it.
And the
tongs thereof, and the snuffdishes thereof,
shall be of pure gold.
The
wick trimmers and their
trays must be of pure gold.
Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels.
The lampstand and all these utensils shall be made from a talent of pure gold.
The length of one
curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one
curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains
shall have one measure.
Each
curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide—all curtains the same size.
The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.
Five of the curtains are to be joined together, and the other five joined as well.
And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.
Make fifty gold clasps as well, and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle will be a unit.
The length of one
curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one
curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains
shall be all of one measure.
Each of the eleven curtains is to be the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.
And the
remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half
curtain that remaineth,
shall hang over the
backside of the tabernacle.
As for the
overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half
curtain that is left over
shall hang down over the back of the tabernacle.
And a
cubit on the one side, and a
cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it
shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.
And the tent curtains will be a
cubit longer on either side, and the excess will
hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.
Ten cubits
shall be the length of a board, and a
cubit and a half
shall be the breadth of one board.
Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a
cubit and a half wide.
Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
Two tenons must be connected to each other for each frame. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.
And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards:
For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, make twenty frames
And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.
coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. These will serve as the two corners.
And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
So there are to be eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.
The central
crossbar in the middle of the frames
shall extend from one end to the other.
And thou shalt make a
vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine
twined linen of
cunning work: with cherubims
shall it be made:
And thou shalt
hang it upon four pillars of
shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks
shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.
Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of
acacia wood, overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases.
And thou shalt
hang up the
vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the
vail the ark of the testimony: and the
vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.
And
hang the
veil from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the
veil. So the
veil will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.
And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of
shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks
shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.
Make five posts of
acacia wood for the
curtain, overlay them with gold hooks, and cast five bronze bases for them.
And thou shalt make an altar of
shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar
shall be
foursquare: and the height thereof
shall be three cubits.
“You are to build an altar of
acacia wood. The altar must be square, five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high.
And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.
Make a horn on each of its four corners, so that the horns are of one piece, and overlay it with bronze.
And the
staves shall be put into the rings, and the
staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it.
The poles are to be inserted into the rings so that the poles are on two sides of the altar when it is carried.
Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shewed thee in the mount, so shall they make it.
Construct the altar with boards so that it is hollow. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.
And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there
shall be hangings for the court of fine
twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side:
You are also to make a
courtyard for the tabernacle. On the south side of the
courtyard make curtains of finely
spun linen, a hundred cubits long on one side,
And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.
with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and silver hooks and bands on the posts.
And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.
Likewise there are to be curtains on the north side, a hundred cubits long, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and with silver hooks and bands on the posts.
And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.
The curtains on the west side of the
courtyard shall be fifty cubits wide, with ten posts and ten bases.
And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.
The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.
Make the curtains on one side fifteen cubits long, with three posts and three bases,
And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.
and the curtains on the other side fifteen cubits long, with three posts and three bases.
And for the gate of the court
shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine
twined linen, wrought with
needlework: and their pillars
shall be four, and their sockets four.
The gate of the
courtyard shall be twenty cubits long, with a
curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely
spun linen. It
shall have four posts and four bases.
All the pillars round about the court
shall be
filleted with silver; their hooks
shall be of silver, and their sockets of brass.
All the posts around the
courtyard shall have silver bands, silver hooks, and bronze bases.
The length of the court
shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine
twined linen, and their sockets of brass.
The entire
courtyard shall be a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide, with curtains of finely
spun linen five cubits high, and with bronze bases.
All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.
All the utensils of the tabernacle for every use, including all its tent pegs and the tent pegs of the
courtyard,
shall be made of bronze.
In the tabernacle of the congregation without the
vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons
shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it
shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
In the Tent of Meeting, outside the
veil that is in front of the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening until morning. This is to be a permanent statute for the Israelites for the generations to come.
And these are the garments which they
shall make; a
breastplate, and an
ephod, and a
robe, and a
broidered coat, a
mitre, and a
girdle: and they
shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.
These are the garments that they
shall make: a breastpiece, an
ephod, a
robe, a
woven tunic, a
turban, and a
sash. They are to make these holy garments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so that they may serve Me as priests.
And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.
They shall use gold, along with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and fine linen.
And they
shall make the
ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine
twined linen, with
cunning work.
They are to make the
ephod of finely
spun linen
embroidered with gold, and with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn.
It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together.
It shall have two shoulder pieces attached at two of its corners, so it can be fastened.
And the curious
girdle of the
ephod, which is upon it,
shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine
twined linen.
And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the
ephod for stones of
memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron
shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a
memorial.
Fasten both stones on the shoulder pieces of the
ephod as
memorial stones for the sons of Israel. Aaron is to bear their names on his two shoulders as a
memorial before the LORD.
Foursquare it
shall be being doubled; a span
shall be the length thereof, and a span
shall be the breadth thereof.
It must be square when folded over double, a span long and a span wide.
And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row
shall be a
sardius, a
topaz, and a
carbuncle: this
shall be the first row.
And mount on it a setting of gemstones, four rows of stones: In the first row there
shall be a
ruby, a
topaz, and an
emerald;
And the fourth row a
beryl, and an
onyx, and a
jasper: they
shall be set in gold in their inclosings.
And the stones
shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a
signet; every one with his name
shall they be according to the twelve tribes.
The twelve stones are to correspond to the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.
The rings of the breastpiece
shall be
tied to the rings of the
ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece is above the
waistband of the
ephod and does not
swing out from the
ephod.
And Aaron
shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the
breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a
memorial before the LORD continually.
Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place, he shall bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of judgment, as a continual reminder before the LORD.
And thou shalt put in the
breastplate of judgment the
Urim and the
Thummim; and they
shall be upon Aaron’s heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron
shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.
And place the
Urim and
Thummim in the breastpiece of judgment, so that they will also be over Aaron’s heart whenever he comes before the LORD. Aaron will continually carry the judgment of the sons of Israel over his heart before the LORD.
And there
shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it
shall have a binding of
woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an
habergeon, that it be not rent.
with an opening at its top in the center. Around the opening
shall be a
woven collar with an opening like that of a garment, so that it will not
tear.
And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not.
Aaron must wear the
robe whenever he ministers, and its sound will be heard when he enters or exits the sanctuary before the LORD, so that he will not die.
And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the
mitre; upon the
forefront of the
mitre it
shall be.
Fasten to it a blue cord to mount it on the
turban; it
shall be on the front of the
turban.
And it
shall be upon Aaron’s
forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel
shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it
shall be always upon his
forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.
And it will be worn on Aaron’s
forehead, so that he may bear the iniquity of the holy things that the sons of Israel
consecrate with regard to all their holy gifts. It
shall always be on his
forehead, so that they may be acceptable before the LORD.
And thou shalt make them linen
breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they
shall reach:
Make linen undergarments to cover their bare flesh, extending from
waist to
thigh.
And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him.
Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not
incur guilt and die. This is to be a permanent statute for Aaron and his descendants.
And thou shalt
gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest’s office
shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt
consecrate Aaron and his sons.
Wrap the sashes around Aaron and his sons and
tie headbands on them. The priesthood
shall be theirs by a permanent statute. In this way you are to
ordain Aaron and his sons.
And thou shalt cause a
bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons
shall put their hands upon the head of the
bullock.
You are to present the bull at the front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head.
And thou shalt kill the
bullock before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
And you shall slaughter the bull before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.
Take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.
Take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head.
And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the
anointing oil, and
sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he
shall be
hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.
And take some of the blood on the altar and some of the
anointing oil and
sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments, as well as on his sons and their garments. Then he and his garments will be consecrated, as well as his sons and their garments.
And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s
consecration, and wave it for a wave offering before the LORD: and it
shall be thy part.
Take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s
ordination and wave it before the LORD as a wave offering, and it will be your portion.
And it
shall be Aaron’s and his sons’ by a statute for ever from the children of Israel: for it is an
heave offering: and it
shall be an
heave offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, even their
heave offering unto the LORD.
This will belong to Aaron and his sons as a regular portion from the Israelites, for it is the
heave offering the Israelites will make to the LORD from their peace offerings.
And the holy garments of Aaron
shall be his sons’ after him, to be
anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them.
The holy garments that belong to Aaron will belong to his sons after him, so they can be
anointed and ordained in them.
And that son that is priest in his
stead shall put them on seven days, when he cometh into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the holy place.
The son who succeeds him as priest and enters the Tent of Meeting to minister in the Holy Place must wear them for seven days.
And Aaron and his sons
shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the
basket, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
At the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the
basket.
They must eat those things by which
atonement was made for their
ordination and
consecration. But no outsider may eat them, because these things are sacred.
And if ought of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, remain unto the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.
And if any of the meat of
ordination or any bread is left until the morning, you are to burn up the remainder. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.
Seven days thou shalt make an
atonement for the altar, and
sanctify it; and it
shall be an altar most holy:
whatsoever toucheth the altar
shall be holy.
For seven days you
shall make
atonement for the altar and
consecrate it. Then the altar will become most holy; whatever touches the altar will be holy.
This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.
For the generations to come, this burnt offering shall be made regularly at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet you to speak with you.
And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle
shall be
sanctified by my glory.
I will also meet with the Israelites there, and that place will be consecrated by My glory.
And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.
And they will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
A
cubit shall be the length thereof, and a
cubit the breadth thereof;
foursquare shall it be: and two cubits
shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof
shall be of the same.
It is to be square, a
cubit long, a
cubit wide, and two cubits high. Its horns must be of one piece.
And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they
shall be for places for the
staves to bear it
withal.
And make two gold rings below the
molding on opposite sides to hold the poles used to carry it.
And Aaron
shall burn
thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he
shall burn incense upon it.
And Aaron is to burn
fragrant incense on it every morning when he tends the lamps.
And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.
When Aaron sets up the lamps at
twilight, he must burn the incense perpetually before the LORD for the generations to come.
Ye
shall offer no strange incense
thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither
shall ye pour drink offering
thereon.
On this altar you must not offer unauthorized incense or a burnt offering or grain offering; nor are you to pour a drink offering on it.
And Aaron
shall make an
atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year
shall he make
atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD.
Once a year Aaron
shall make
atonement on the horns of the altar. Throughout your generations he
shall make
atonement on it annually with the blood of the sin offering of
atonement. The altar is most holy to the LORD.”
When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then
shall they give every man a
ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.
“When you take a census of the Israelites to number them, each man must pay the LORD a
ransom for his life when he is counted. Then no plague will come upon them when they are numbered.
This they
shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a
shekel after the
shekel of the sanctuary: (a
shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half
shekel shall be the offering of the LORD.
Everyone who crosses over to those counted must pay a half
shekel, according to the sanctuary
shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half
shekel is an offering to the LORD.
Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.
Everyone twenty years of age or older who crosses over must give this offering to the LORD.
The rich
shall not give more, and the poor
shall not give less than half a
shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an
atonement for your souls.
In making the offering to the LORD to
atone for your lives, the rich
shall not give more than a half
shekel, nor
shall the poor give less.
For Aaron and his sons
shall wash their hands and their feet
thereat:
with which Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet.
When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:
Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister by presenting an offering made by fire to the LORD, they must wash with water so that they will not die.
So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.
Thus they are to wash their hands and feet so that they will not die; this shall be a permanent statute for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”
