Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
Who did no
sin, neither was
guile found in his mouth:
“He committed no
sin, and no
deceit was found in His mouth.”
Who his own self bare our
sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to
sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were
healed.
He Himself bore our
sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to
sin and live to righteousness. “By His stripes you are
healed.”
For Christ also hath once suffered for
sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit:
For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit,
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm
yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from
sin;
Therefore,
since Christ suffered in His body, arm
yourselves with the same
resolve, because
anyone who has suffered in his body is done with
sin.
And above all things have
fervent charity among
yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of
sins.
Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the
sinner appear?
And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the
sinner?”
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see
afar off, and hath forgotten that he was
purged from his old
sins.
But
whoever lacks these traits is
nearsighted to the point of blindness, having forgotten that he has been
cleansed from his past
sins.
For if God
spared not the angels that
sinned, but cast them down to
hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
For if God did not
spare the angels when they
sinned, but cast them deep into
hell, placing them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;
Having eyes full of
adultery, and that cannot cease from
sin;
beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with
covetous practices;
cursed children:
Their eyes are full of
adultery; their desire for
sin is never satisfied; they
seduce the unstable. They are
accursed children with hearts trained in
greed.
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for
since the fathers fell
asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
“Where is the promise of His coming?” they will ask. “Ever
since our fathers fell
asleep, everything continues as it has from the beginning of creation.”
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and
godliness,
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct
yourselves in
holiness and
godliness Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before,
beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own
stedfastness.
Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard so that you will not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all
sin.
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all
sin.
If we say that we have no
sin, we
deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we say we have no
sin, we
deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we
confess our
sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our
sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we
confess our
sins, He is faithful and just to
forgive us our
sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not
sinned, we make him a
liar, and his word is not in us.
If we say we have not
sinned, we make Him out to be a
liar, and His word is not in us.
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not
sin. But if
anyone does
sin, we have an advocate before the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
And he is the
propitiation for our
sins: and not for ours only, but also for the
sins of the whole world.
He Himself is the
atoning sacrifice for our
sins, and not only for ours but also for the
sins of the whole world.
I write unto you, little children, because your
sins are
forgiven you for his name’s sake.
I am writing to you, little children, because your
sins have been
forgiven through His name.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
But you know that Christ appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him
sinneth not:
whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
No one who remains in Him keeps on
sinning. No one who continues to
sin has seen Him or known Him.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
The one who practices
sin is of the devil, because the devil has been
sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God
doth not commit
sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot
sin, because he is born of God.
Anyone born of God refuses to practice
sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on
sinning, because he has been born of God.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the
propitiation for our
sins.
And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the
atoning sacrifice for our
sins.
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
If
anyone sees his brother
committing a
sin not leading to death, he should ask God, who will give life to those who commit this kind of
sin. There is a
sin that leads to death; I am not saying he should ask regarding that
sin.
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
All unrighteousness is sin, yet there is sin that does not lead to death.
We know that
whosoever is born of God
sinneth not; but he that is
begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
We know that
anyone born of God does not keep on
sinning; the One who was born of God protects him, and the evil one cannot touch him.
Beloved, thou doest faithfully
whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
Beloved, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers, and especially since they are strangers to you.
To
execute judgment upon all, and to
convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly
sinners have spoken against him.
to
execute judgment on
everyone, and to
convict all the ungodly of every ungodly act of wickedness and every harsh word spoken against Him by ungodly
sinners.”
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first
begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our
sins in his own blood,
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the
firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has released us from our
sins by His blood,
And they
sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God
Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
and they
sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb: “Great and wonderful are Your works, O Lord God
Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations!
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great
earthquake, such as was not
since men were upon the earth, so mighty an
earthquake, and so great.
And there were
flashes of
lightning, and rumblings, and peals of
thunder, and a great
earthquake the likes of which had not occurred
since men were upon the earth—so mighty was the great
quake.
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues.
For her
sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her
iniquities.
For her
sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her
iniquities.
Standing
afar off for the fear of her
torment, saying,
Alas,
alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
In fear of her
torment, they will stand at a distance and cry out: “
Woe,
woe to the great city, the mighty city of Babylon! For in a
single hour your judgment has come.”
For in one hour so great riches is come to
nought. And every
shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood
afar off,
For in a
single hour such
fabulous wealth has been destroyed!” Every
shipmaster,
passenger, and
sailor, and all who make their living from the sea, will stand at a distance
Then they will throw dust on their heads as they
weep and
mourn and cry out: “
Woe,
woe to the great city, where all who had ships on the sea were enriched by her wealth! For in a
single hour she has been destroyed.”
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one
pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, with each gate consisting of a
single pearl. The main street of the city was pure gold, as clear as glass.
The holy
singers also, the sons of
Asaph, were in their order, according to the appointment of David, to wit,
Asaph,
Zacharias, and
Jeduthun, who was of the king’s
retinue.
And such a
passover was not kept in Israel
since the time of the prophet Samuel.
As for the things that came to pass in his time, they were written in former times, concerning those that
sinned, and did wickedly against the Lord above all people and kingdoms, and how they
grieved him exceedingly, so that the words of the Lord rose up against Israel.
Many also have perished, have
erred, and
sinned, for women.
The holy
singers: the sons of
Asaph, an hundred twenty and eight.
Their menservants and handmaids were seven thousand three hundred forty and seven: the singing men and singing women, two hundred forty and five:
And so dwelt the priests and the Levites and the people in Jerusalem, and in the country, the
singers also and the
porters; and all Israel in their villages.
Singing songs of
thanksgiving, and praising the Lord, according as David the king of Israel had ordained.
And all the people sounded
trumpets, and
shouted with a loud voice,
singing songs of
thanksgiving unto the Lord for the rearing up of the house of the Lord.
But when our fathers
provoked God unto wrath, and
sinned against the Lord of Israel which is in heaven, he gave them over into the power of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, of the Chaldees;
And twelve goats for the sin of all Israel, according to the number of the chief of the tribes of Israel.
There went up with him also certain of the children of Israel, of the priest of the Levites, of the holy
singers,
porters, and ministers of the temple, unto Jerusalem,
I command you also, that ye require no tax, nor any other imposition, of any of the priests, or Levites, or holy
singers, or
porters, or ministers of the temple, or of any that have doings in this temple, and that no man have authority to
impose any thing upon them.
For our sins are multiplied above our heads, and our ignorances have reached up unto heaven.
For ever since the time of our fathers we have been and are in great sin, even unto this day.
And for our sins and our fathers’ we with our brethren and our kings and our priests were given up unto the kings of the earth, to the sword, and to captivity, and for a prey with shame, unto this day.
And all that is
befallen is done unto us for our wicked works and great
sins; for thou, O Lord,
didst make our
sins light,
Then Jechonias the son of Jeelus, one of the sons of Israel, called out, and said, O
Esdras, we have
sinned against the Lord God, we have married strange women of the nations of the land, and now is all Israel
aloft.
So
Esdras arose up, and said unto them, Ye have
transgressed the law in marrying strange wives, thereby to increase the
sins of Israel.
But
forasmuch as the people are many, and it is foul weather, so that we cannot stand without, and this is not a work of a day or two, seeing our
sin in these things is spread far:
Of the holy singers; Eleazurus, Bacchurus.
Go thy way, and
shew my people their
sinful deeds, and their children their wickedness which they have done against me; that they may tell their children’s children:
Because the sins of their fathers are increased in them: for they have forgotten me, and have offered unto strange gods.
They have seen no prophets, yet they shall call their
sins to
remembrance, and acknowledge them.
I brought you up with
gladness; but with sorrow and
heaviness have I lost you: for ye have
sinned before the Lord your God, and done that thing that is evil before him.
And it came to pass, that when thou leadest his seed out of Egypt, thou broughtest them up to the mount
Sinai.
For I have seen how thou sufferest them
sinning, and hast
spared wicked doers: and hast destroyed thy people, and hast preserved thine enemies, and hast not
signified it.
Or when was it that they which dwell upon the earth have not
sinned in thy sight? or what people have so kept thy commandments?
And for our sakes
peradventure it is that the floors of the righteous are not filled, because of the
sins of them that dwell upon the earth.
And
ere the present years were sought out, and or ever the inventions of them that now
sin were turned, before they were sealed that have gathered faith for a
treasure:
For thy voice is heard before the most High: for the Mighty hath seen thy righteous dealing, he hath seen also thy
chastity, which thou hast had ever
since thy youth.
Then said I, Abraham prayed first for the Sodomites, and Moses for the fathers that
sinned in the wilderness:
I answered then and said, This is my first and last saying, that it had been better not to have given the earth unto Adam: or else, when it was given him, to have restrained him from
sinning.
O thou Adam, what hast thou done? for though it was thou that
sinned, thou art not fallen alone, but we all that come of thee.
And that there should be shewed a
paradise, whose fruit endureth for ever, wherein is security and medicine,
since we shall not enter into it?
And that he is patient, and long suffereth those that have
sinned, as his creatures;
O look not upon the sins of thy people; but on them which serve thee in truth.
For we and our fathers do
languish of such diseases: but because of us
sinners thou shalt be called
merciful.
For indeed I will not think on the disposition of them which have
sinned before death, before judgment, before destruction:
For we that have received the law perish by sin, and our heart also which received it
Then say I unto thee, Like as thou hast brought forth with labour; even so the earth also hath given her fruit, namely, man, ever since the beginning unto him that made her.
But if I have found grace before thee, send the Holy Ghost into me, and I shall write all that hath been done in the world since the beginning, which were written in thy law, that men may find thy path, and that they which will live in the latter days may live.
My right hand shall not
spare the
sinners, and my sword shall not cease over them that shed innocent blood upon the earth.
The fire is gone forth from his wrath, and hath consumed the foundations of the earth, and the
sinners, like the straw that is
kindled.
Woe to them that
sin, and keep not my commandments! saith the Lord.
For the Lord knoweth all them that sin against him, and therefore delivereth he them unto death and destruction.
For now are the plagues come upon the whole earth and ye shall remain in them: for God shall not deliver you, because ye have
sinned against him.
The more will I be
angry with them for their
sin, saith the Lord.
So shall righteousness
hate iniquity, when she decketh herself, and shall
accuse her to her face, when he cometh that shall defend him that
diligently searcheth out every
sin upon earth.
Let not the
sinner say that he hath not
sinned: for God shall burn coals of fire upon his head, which saith before the Lord God and his glory, I have not
sinned.
Surely he knoweth your inventions, and what ye think in your hearts, even them that sin, and would hide their sin.
And when your
sins are brought forth, ye shall be
ashamed before men, and your own
sins shall be your accusers in that day.
What will ye do? or how will ye hide your sins before God and his angels?
Behold, God himself is the judge, fear him: leave off from your
sins, and
forget your
iniquities, to
meddle no more with them for ever: so shall God lead you forth, and deliver you from all trouble.
And the guide of them who keep my commandments and precepts, saith the Lord God: let not your
sins weigh you down, and let not your
iniquities lift up themselves.
Woe be unto them that are bound with their
sins, and covered with their
iniquities like as a field is covered over with bushes, and the path thereof covered with thorns, that no man may travel through!
Remember me, and look on me,
punish me not for my
sins and ignorances, and the
sins of my fathers, who have
sinned before thee:
And now thy judgments are many and true: deal with me according to my sins and my fathers’: because we have not kept thy commandments, neither have walked in truth before thee.
Thou knowest, Lord, that I am pure from all sin with man,
My son, be mindful of the Lord our God all thy days, and let not thy will be set to
sin, or to
transgress his commandments: do uprightly all thy life long, and follow not the ways of unrighteousness.
And fear not, my son, that we are made poor: for thou hast much wealth, if thou fear God, and depart from all sin, and do that which is pleasing in his sight.
