Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I
beseech thee, let thine anger and thy
fury be
turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the
iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
O Lord, in keeping with all Your righteous acts, I pray that Your anger and wrath may
turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the
iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all around us.
Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my
comeliness was
turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
So I was left alone,
gazing at this great vision. No strength remained in me; my face grew deathly pale, and I was powerless.
And, behold, one like the
similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are
turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
And suddenly one with the likeness of a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and said to the one standing before me, “My lord, because of the vision, I am overcome with
anguish, and I have no strength.
After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
Then he will turn his face to the coastlands and capture many of them. But a commander will put an end to his reproach and will turn it back upon him.
Then he shall
turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall
stumble and fall, and not be found.
After this, he will
turn back toward the fortresses of his own land, but he will
stumble and fall and be no more.
For the ships of
Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be
grieved, and return, and have
indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that
forsake the holy covenant.
Ships of Kittim will come against him, and he will lose heart. Then he will
turn back and
rage against the holy covenant and do damage. So he will return and show favor to those who
forsake the holy covenant.
And they that be wise shall
shine as the brightness of the
firmament; and they that
turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Then the wise will
shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness will
shine like the stars
forever and ever.
Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and
slay her with
thirst.
Otherwise, I will strip her naked and
expose her like the day of her birth. I will make her like a desert and
turn her into a
parched land, and I will let her die of
thirst.
Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an
adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
Then the LORD said to me, “Go show love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an
adulteress. Love her as the LORD loves the Israelites, though they
turn to other gods and offer
raisin cakes to idols.”
They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit
whoredom, and your spouses shall commit
adultery.
They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oak,
poplar, and
terebinth, because their shade is pleasant. And so your daughters
turn to
prostitution and your daughters-in-law to
adultery.
Their drink is
sour: they have committed
whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not
hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest
whoredom, and Israel is
defiled.
I know all about Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me. For now, O Ephraim, you have
turned to
prostitution; Israel is
defiled.
They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God, for a spirit of
prostitution is within them, and they do not know the LORD.
When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not
heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
When Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah his wound, then Ephraim
turned to Assyria and sent to the great king. But he cannot cure you or
heal your wound.
Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a
cake not
turned.
Ephraim mixes with the nations; Ephraim is an unturned
cake.
Ephraim also is like a
silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
So Ephraim has become like a
silly, senseless
dove— calling out to Egypt, then
turning to Assyria.
And they have not
cried unto me with their heart, when they
howled upon their beds: they
assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they
rebel against me.
They do not cry out to Me from their hearts when they
wail upon their beds. They
slash themselves for grain and new wine, but
turn away from Me.
They return, but not to the most High: they are like a
deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the
rage of their tongue: this shall be their
derision in the land of Egypt.
They
turn, but not to the Most High; they are like a
faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword for the
cursing of their tongue; for this they will be
ridiculed in the land of Egypt.
Though they bring up their children, yet will I
bereave them, that there shall not be a man left:
yea,
woe also to them when I depart from them!
Even if they raise their children, I will
bereave them of each one.
Yes,
woe be to them when I
turn away from them!
And my people are bent to
backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would
exalt him.
My people are bent on
turning from Me. Though they call to the Most High, He will by no means
exalt them.
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as
Zeboim? mine heart is
turned within me, my repentings are
kindled together.
How could I give you up, O Ephraim? How could I surrender you, O Israel? How could I make you like Admah? How could I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is
turned within Me; My
compassion is
stirred!
I will not
execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
I will not
execute the full
fury of My anger; I will not
turn back to destroy Ephraim. For I am God and not man— the Holy One among you— and I will not come in wrath.
Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
But you must return to your God, maintaining love and justice, and always waiting on your God.
Take with you words, and
turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us
graciously: so will we render the
calves of our lips.
Bring your confessions and return to the LORD. Say to Him: “Take away all our iniquity and receive us
graciously, that we may present the fruit of our lips.
I will
heal their
backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is
turned away from him.
I will
heal their
apostasy; I will freely love them, for My anger has
turned away from them.
He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
It has laid waste My
grapevine and
splintered My fig tree. It has
stripped off the bark and thrown it away; the branches have
turned white.
Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
Nations
writhe in
horror before them; every face
turns pale.
Therefore also now, saith the LORD,
turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with
weeping, and with
mourning:
“Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting,
weeping, and
mourning.”
And
rend your heart, and not your garments, and
turn unto the LORD your God: for he is
gracious and
merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
So
rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the LORD your God. For He is
gracious and
compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion. And He relents from sending
disaster.
Who knoweth if he will return and
repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him— grain and drink offerings for the LORD your God.
Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
Do not be afraid, O beasts of the field, for the open pastures have turned green, the trees bear their fruit, and the fig tree and vine yield their best.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
The sun will be
turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and
awesome Day of the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
threshed Gilead with
threshing instruments of iron:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Damascus, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they
threshed Gilead with sledges of iron.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of
Gaza, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away
captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to
Edom:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of
Gaza, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they exiled a whole population, delivering them up to
Edom.
And I will cut off the inhabitant from
Ashdod, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will
turn mine hand against
Ekron: and the
remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
I will cut off the ruler of
Ashdod and the one who wields the
scepter in Ashkelon. I will
turn My hand against
Ekron, and the
remnant of the Philistines will perish,” says the Lord GOD.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to
Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Tyre, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they delivered up a whole congregation of exiles to
Edom and broke a covenant of
brotherhood.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of
Edom, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all
pity, and his anger did
tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of
Edom, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and
stifled all
compassion; his anger
raged continually, and his
fury flamed
incessantly.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of
Ammon, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
ripped up the women with child of
Gilead, that they might
enlarge their border:
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of
Edom into lime:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Moab, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because he burned to lime the bones of
Edom’s king.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to
err, after the which their fathers have walked:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Judah, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they
reject the Law of the LORD and fail to keep His statutes; they are led
astray by the lies in which their fathers walked.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not
turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of
shoes;
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Israel, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they sell the righteous for silver and the
needy for a pair of
sandals.
That
pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and
turn aside the way of the
meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same
maid, to
profane my holy name:
They
trample on the heads of the poor as on the dust of the earth; they
push the
needy out of their way. A man and his father have relations with the same
girl and so
profane My holy name.
For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
For behold, He who forms the mountains, who creates the wind and reveals His thoughts to man, who
turns the
dawn to darkness and strides on the heights of the earth— the LORD, the God of Hosts, is His name.”
Ye who
turn judgment to
wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
There are those who
turn justice into
wormwood and cast righteousness to the ground.
Seek him that maketh the seven stars and
Orion, and
turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
He who made the
Pleiades and
Orion, who
turns darkness into
dawn and darkens day into night, who
summons the waters of the sea and pours them over the face of the earth— the LORD is His name—
For I know your
manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they
afflict the just, they take a
bribe, and they
turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
For I know that your transgressions are many and your sins are numerous. You
oppress the righteous by taking bribes; you deprive the poor of justice in the gate.
Shall horses run upon the rock? will one
plow there with oxen? for ye have
turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into
hemlock:
“Do horses
gallop on the cliffs? Does one
plow the sea with oxen? But you have
turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into
wormwood—
And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.
“In that day,” declares the Lord GOD, “the songs of the temple will
turn to
wailing. Many will be the corpses,
strewn in silence everywhere!”
And I will
turn your feasts into
mourning, and all your songs into
lamentation; and I will bring up
sackcloth upon all loins, and
baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the
mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
But let man and beast be covered with
sackcloth, and cry
mightily unto God:
yea, let them
turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
Furthermore, let both man and beast be covered with
sackcloth, and have
everyone call out earnestly to God. Let each one
turn from his evil ways and from the violence in his hands.
Who can tell if God will
turn and
repent, and
turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
Who knows? God may turn and relent; He may turn from His fierce anger, so that we will not perish.”
And God saw their works, that they
turned from their evil way; and God
repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
When God saw their actions—that they had
turned from their evil ways—He relented from the
disaster He had threatened to bring upon them.
In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and
lament with a
doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly
spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me!
turning away he hath divided our fields.
In that day they will take up a
proverb against you and
taunt you with this bitter
lamentation: ‘We are utterly ruined! He has changed the portion of my people. How He has removed it from me! He has
allotted our fields to traitors.’”
Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
Therefore night will come over you without visions, and darkness without
divination. The sun will set on these prophets, and the
daylight will
turn black over them.
For the LORD will restore the
splendor of Jacob like the
splendor of Israel, though destroyers have laid them waste and ruined the branches of their vine.
But
Nineveh is of old like a
pool of water: yet they shall
flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
Nineveh has been like a
pool of water throughout her days, but now it is
draining away. “Stop! Stop!” they cry, but no one
turns back.
Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy
foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be
turned unto thee, and shameful
spewing shall be on thy glory.
You will be filled with shame instead of glory. You too must drink and
expose your
uncircumcision! The cup in the LORD’s right hand will come around to you, and utter disgrace will cover your glory.
And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.
and those who turn back from following the LORD, neither seeking the LORD nor inquiring of Him.”
And the coast shall be for the
remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed
thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and
turn away their captivity.
The coast will belong to the
remnant of the house of Judah; there they will find pasture. They will lie down in the evening among the houses of Ashkelon, for the LORD their God will attend to them and restore their
captives.
For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
For then I will restore pure lips to the peoples, that all may call upon the name of the LORD and serve Him shoulder to shoulder.
The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
The LORD has taken away your punishment; He has
turned back your enemy. Israel’s King, the LORD, is among you; no longer will you fear any
harm.
At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
At that time I will bring you in;
yes, at that time I will gather you. For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your
captives before your very eyes,” says the LORD.
I
smote you with blasting and with
mildew and with
hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye
turned not to me, saith the LORD.
I struck you—all the work of your hands—with
blight,
mildew, and
hail, but you did not
turn to Me, declares the LORD.
Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.
So tell the people that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Return to Me, declares the LORD of Hosts, and I will return to you, says the LORD of Hosts.’
Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have
cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts;
Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor
hearken unto me, saith the LORD.
Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘
Turn now from your evil ways and deeds.’ But they did not
listen or pay attention to Me, declares the LORD.
And I said, Let them set a fair
mitre upon his head. So they set a fair
mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.
Then I said, “Let them put a clean
turban on his head.” So a clean
turban was placed on his head, and they clothed him, as the angel of the LORD stood by.
Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll.
Again I lifted up my eyes and saw before me a flying
scroll.
And I
turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four
chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.
And again I lifted up my eyes and saw four
chariots coming out from between two mountains—mountains of bronze.
But they refused to
hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
But they refused to pay attention and
turned a
stubborn shoulder; they stopped up their ears from hearing.
But I scattered them with a
whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was
desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land
desolate.
But I scattered them with a
whirlwind among all the nations that they had not known, and the land was left
desolate behind them so that no one could come or go. Thus they
turned the pleasant land into a
desolation.”
For before these days there was no
hire for man, nor any
hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the
affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.
For before those days neither man nor beast received wages, nor was there safety from the enemy for
anyone who came or went, for I had
turned every man against his
neighbor.
Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
Return to your
stronghold, O prisoners of hope; even
today I declare that I will restore to you double.
And I will
sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and
turn again.
Though I
sow them among the nations, they will remember Me in distant lands; they and their children will live and return.
Awake, O sword, against my
shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts:
smite the
shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will
turn mine hand upon the little ones.
Awake, O sword, against My
Shepherd, against the man who is My Companion, declares the LORD of Hosts. Strike the
Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will
turn My hand against the little ones.
All the land shall be
turned as a plain from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
All the land from Geba to
Rimmon south of Jerusalem will be
turned into a plain, but Jerusalem will be raised up and will remain in her place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
Ye said also, Behold, what a
weariness is it! and ye have
snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was
torn, and the
lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.
You also say: ‘Oh, what a
nuisance!’ And you
turn up your nose at it,” says the LORD of Hosts. “You bring offerings that are
stolen,
lame, or sick! Should I accept these from your hands?” asks the LORD.
The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and
equity, and did
turn many away from iniquity.
True instruction was in his mouth, and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.
Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.
“So I in
turn have made you
despised and
humiliated before all the people, because you have not kept My ways, but have shown
partiality in matters of the law.”
And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that
oppress the
hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that
turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
“Then I will draw near to you for judgment. And I will be a swift witness against sorcerers and adulterers and perjurers, against oppressors of the widowed and fatherless, and against those who
defraud laborers of their wages and deny justice to the foreigner but do not fear Me,” says the LORD of Hosts.
Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
Yet from the days of your fathers, you have turned away from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of Hosts. “But you ask, ‘How can we return?’
And he shall
turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and
smite the earth with a
curse.
And he will
turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers. Otherwise, I will come and strike the land with a
curse.”
But when he heard that
Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being
warned of God in a dream, he
turned aside into the parts of
Galilee:
But when he learned that
Archelaus was reigning in
Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been
warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of
Galilee,
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but
whosoever shall
smite thee on thy right
cheek,
turn to him the other also.
But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right
cheek,
turn to him the other also;
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would
borrow of thee
turn not thou away.
Give to the one who asks you, and do not
turn away from the one who wants to
borrow from you.
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before
swine, lest they
trample them under their feet, and
turn again and
rend you.
Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your pearls before
swine. If you do, they may
trample them under their feet, and then
turn and
tear you to pieces.
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Jesus
turned and saw her. “Take courage, daughter,” He said, “your faith has
healed you.” And the woman was cured from that very hour.
For I am come to set a man at
variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should
heal them.
For this people’s heart has grown
callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and
turn, and I would
heal them.’
But he
turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me,
Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
But Jesus
turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me,
Satan! You are a
stumbling block to Me. For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
And his lord was
wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
In anger his master
turned him over to the jailers to be
tortured, until he should repay all that he owed.
That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be
forgiven them.
so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might
turn and be
forgiven.’”
And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
At once Jesus was aware that power had gone out from Him. Turning to the crowd, He asked, “Who touched My garments?”
But when he had
turned about and looked on his disciples, he
rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me,
Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
But Jesus,
turning and looking at His disciples,
rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind Me,
Satan! For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
But Jesus said,
Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a
miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
“Do not stop him,” Jesus replied. “For no one who performs a
miracle in My name can
turn around and speak evil of Me.
And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
And let no one in the field return for his
cloak.
