And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.
All nations will serve him and his son and grandson, until the
time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings will
enslave him.
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the
time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
How
awful that day will be! None will be like it! It is the
time of Jacob’s distress, but he will be saved out of it.
At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.
“At that time,” declares the LORD, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be My people.”
For then the king of Babylon’s army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah’s house.
At that
time the army of the king of Babylon was
besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was imprisoned in the
courtyard of the guard, which was in the palace of the king of Judah.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an
earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Take these deeds—both the sealed copy and the open copy of the deed of purchase—and put them in a clay
jar to preserve them for a long
time.
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
While Jeremiah was still confined in the
courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second
time:
And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
I will restore Judah and Israel from captivity and will rebuild them as in former times.
The voice of joy, and the voice of
gladness, the voice of the
bridegroom, and the voice of the
bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.
the sounds of joy and
gladness, the voices of the
bride and
bridegroom, and the voices of those bringing
thank offerings into the house of the LORD, saying: ‘Give
thanks to the LORD of Hosts, for the LORD is good; His loving devotion endures
forever.’ For I will restore the land from captivity as in former
times, says the LORD.
In those days, and at that
time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall
execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
In those days and at that
time I will cause to
sprout for David a righteous Branch, and He will
administer justice and righteousness in the land.
Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
“This is what the LORD says: If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that day and night cease to occupy their appointed time,
Neither shall ye build house, nor
sow seed, nor plant
vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
Nor are you ever to build a house or
sow seed or plant a
vineyard. Those things are not for you. Instead, you must live in tents all your lives, so that you may live a long
time in the land where you
wander.’
When Jeremiah was entered into the
dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;
So Jeremiah went into a cell in the
dungeon and remained there a long
time.
But Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
But Nebuzaradan left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people who had no property, and at that time he gave them vineyards and fields.
But we will certainly do
whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we
plenty of
victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
Instead, we will do everything we
vowed to do: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and offer drink offerings to her, just as we, our fathers, our kings, and our officials did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that
time we had
plenty of food and good things, and we saw no
disaster.
But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
But from the time we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been perishing by sword and famine.”
They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.
There they will cry out: ‘Pharaoh king of Egypt was all noise; he has let the appointed time pass him by.’
Also her
hired men are in the midst of her like
fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their
calamity was come upon them, and the
time of their
visitation.
Even the
mercenaries among her are like
fattened calves. They too will turn back; together they will
flee, they will not stand their ground, for the day of
calamity is coming upon them— the
time of their punishment.
Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the
calamity of
Esau upon him, the
time that I will visit him.
Turn and run! Lie low, O dwellers of Dedan, for I will bring
disaster on
Esau at the
time I
punish him.
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the
habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may
appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will
appoint me the
time? and who is that
shepherd that will stand before me?
Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered pasture. For in an instant I will
chase Edom from her land. Who is the chosen one I will
appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can
challenge Me? What
shepherd can stand against Me?”
In those days, and in that
time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and
weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.
“In those days and at that
time, declares the LORD, the children of Israel and the children of Judah will come together,
weeping as they come, and will seek the LORD their God.
Cut off the
sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the
sickle in the
time of harvest: for fear of the
oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall
flee every one to his own land.
Cut off the
sower from Babylon, and the one who wields the
sickle at harvest
time. In the face of the
oppressor’s sword, each will turn to his own people, each will
flee to his own land.
In those days, and in that
time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will
pardon them whom I reserve.
In those days and at that
time, declares the LORD, a search will be made for Israel’s guilt, but there will be none, and for Judah’s sins, but they will not be found; for I will
forgive the
remnant I preserve.
Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter:
woe unto them! for their day is come, the
time of their
visitation.
Kill all her young bulls; let them go down to the slaughter.
Woe to them, for their day has come— the
time of their punishment.
Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.
“Behold, I am against you, O
arrogant one,” declares the Lord GOD of Hosts, “for your day has come, the
time when I will
punish you.
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the
habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may
appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will
appoint me the
time? and who is that
shepherd that will stand before me?
Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered pasture. For in an instant I will
chase Babylon from her land. Who is the chosen one I will
appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can
challenge Me? What
shepherd can stand against Me?”
Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the
time of the LORD’S
vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
Flee from Babylon! Escape with your lives! Do not be destroyed in her punishment. For this is the
time of the LORD’s
vengeance; He will pay her what she deserves.
They are vanity, the work of errors: in the
time of their
visitation they shall perish.
They are worthless, a work to be
mocked. In the
time of their punishment they will perish.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is
time to
thresh her: yet a little while, and the
time of her harvest shall come.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “The Daughter of Babylon is like a
threshing floor at the
time it is
trampled. In just a little while her harvest
time will come.”
They
hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.
They
stalked our every step, so that we could not walk in our streets. Our end drew near, our
time ran out, for our end had come!
And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.
You are to
weigh out twenty shekels of food to eat each day, and you are to eat it at set
times.
Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an
hin: from
time to
time shalt thou drink.
You are also to measure out a sixth of a
hin of water to drink, and you are to drink it at set
times.
The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.
Doom has come to you, O inhabitants of the land. The
time has come; the day is near; there is
panic on the mountains instead of shouts of joy.
The
time is come, the day draweth near: let not the
buyer rejoice, nor the seller
mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
The
time has come; the day has arrived. Let the
buyer not
rejoice and the seller not
mourn, for wrath is upon the whole multitude.
Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the
caldron, and we be the flesh.
They are saying, ‘Is not the
time near to build houses? The city is the
cooking pot, and we are the meat.’
Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he
seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the
times that are far off.
“Son of man, take note that the house of Israel is saying, ‘The vision that he sees is for many years from now; he prophesies about the distant future.’
Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy
time was the
time of love; and I spread my
skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness:
yea, I
sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.
Then I passed by and saw you, and you were indeed old enough for love. So I spread My
cloak over you and covered your nakedness. I
pledged Myself to you, entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine, declares the Lord GOD.
Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the
time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which
despise thee round about.
before your wickedness was uncovered? Even so, you are now
scorned by the daughters of
Edom and all those around her, and by the daughters of the Philistines—all those around you who
despise you.
Thou therefore, son of man,
prophesy, and
smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third
time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.
‘So then, son of man,
prophesy and strike your hands together. Let the sword strike two
times, even three. It is a sword that slays, a sword of great slaughter closing in on every side!
Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.
while they offer false visions for you and lying divinations about you— to be placed on the necks of the wicked who are slain, whose day has come, the time of their final punishment.
Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her
time may come, and maketh idols against herself to
defile herself.
and tell her that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘O city who brings her own
doom by
shedding blood within her walls and making idols to
defile herself,
I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I
spare, neither will I
repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.
I, the LORD, have spoken; the
time is coming, and I will act. I will not
refrain or show
pity, nor will I relent. I will judge you according to your ways and deeds,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old
time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places
desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;
then I will bring you down with those who descend to the Pit, to the people of antiquity. I will make you dwell in the earth below like the ancient ruins, with those who descend to the Pit, so that you will no longer be inhabited or set in
splendor in the land of the living.
In the
time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy
merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.
Now you are
shattered by the seas in the depths of the waters; your
merchandise and the people among you have gone down with you.
For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a
cloudy day; it shall be the
time of the heathen.
For the day is near, the Day of the LORD is near. It will be a day of clouds, a
time of
doom for the nations.
Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the
time of their
calamity, in the
time that their iniquity had an end:
Because you
harbored an ancient hatred and delivered the Israelites over to the sword in the
time of their
disaster at the final stage of their punishment,
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
After a long
time you will be summoned. In the latter years you will enter a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been
desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and all now dwell securely.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
This is what the Lord GOD says: On that day, thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will
devise an evil plan.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old
time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which
prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
This is what the Lord GOD says: Are you the one of whom I have spoken in former days through My servants, the prophets of Israel, who in those
times prophesied for years that I would bring you against them?
And it shall come to pass at the same
time when
Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my
fury shall come up in my face.
Now on that day when
Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, My wrath will
flare up.
Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before
Nebuchadnezzar.
Now at the end of the
time specified by the king, the chief official presented them to
Nebuchadnezzar.
And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.
In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom.
They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will
shew the interpretation of it.
They answered a second time, “Let the king tell the dream to his servants, and we will give the interpretation.”
The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
The king replied, “I know for sure that you are
stalling for
time, because you see that my word is final.
But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the
time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can
shew me the interpretation thereof.
If you do not tell me the dream, there is only one decree for you. You have
conspired to speak before me false and
fraudulent words, hoping the situation will change. Therefore tell me the dream, and I will know that you can give me its interpretation.”
He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so
hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
“Why is the decree from the king so harsh?” he asked. At this time Arioch explained the situation to Daniel.
Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him
time, and that he would
shew the king the interpretation.
So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him some time, so that he could give him the interpretation.
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
He changes the
times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the
discerning.
As soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the golden statue that King
Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
Therefore at that
time, when all the people heard the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that
Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Therefore, as soon as all the people heard the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, and all kinds of music, the people of every nation and language would fall down and worship the golden statue that King
Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
At this
time some astrologers came forward and
maliciously accused the Jews,
Now if ye be ready that at what
time ye hear the sound of the
cornet,
flute,
harp,
sackbut,
psaltery, and
dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
Now, if you are ready, as soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute,
zither,
lyre,
harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the statue I have made. But if you refuse to worship, you will be thrown at once into the
blazing fiery furnace. Then what god will be able to deliver you from my hands?”
Then was
Nebuchadnezzar full of
fury, and the form of his
visage was changed against
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven
times more than it was
wont to be heated.
At this,
Nebuchadnezzar was filled with
rage, and the expression on his face changed toward
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego. He gave orders to heat the furnace seven
times hotter than usual,
Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
Let his mind be changed from that of a man, and let him be given the mind of a beast till seven times pass him by.
Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was
astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that
hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
For a
time, Daniel, who was also known as Belteshazzar, was
perplexed, and his thoughts
alarmed him. So the king said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation
alarm you.” “My lord,” replied Belteshazzar, “may the dream apply to those who
hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!
And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying,
Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the
stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the
dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven
times pass over him;
And you, O king, saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying: ‘Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the
stump with its roots in the ground, and a band of iron and bronze around it, in the tender grass of the field. Let him be
drenched with the
dew of heaven, and
graze with the beasts of the field till seven
times pass him by.’
That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the
dew of heaven, and seven
times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to
whomsoever he will.
You will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling will be with the beasts of the field. You will feed on grass like an ox and be
drenched with the
dew of heaven, and seven
times shall pass you by, until you acknowledge that the Most High rules over the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whom He wishes.
And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven
times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to
whomsoever he will.
You will be driven away from mankind to live with the beasts of the field, and you will feed on grass like an ox. And seven times will pass you by, until you acknowledge that the Most High rules over the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whom He wishes.”
At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
At the same
time my
sanity was restored, my honor and
splendor returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne, and
surpassing greatness was added to me.
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he
kneeled upon his knees three
times a day, and prayed, and gave
thanks before his God, as he did
aforetime.
Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three
times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave
thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
Then they told the king, “Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, shows no regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed. He still makes his petition three times a day.”
A
fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand
times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
A river of fire was flowing, coming out from His presence. Thousands upon thousands attended Him, and myriads upon myriads stood before Him. The court was
convened, and the books were opened.
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was removed, but they were granted an extension of life for a season and a time.
Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
until the Ancient of Days arrived and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for them to possess the kingdom.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
He will speak out against the Most High and
oppress the saints of the Most High, intending to change the appointed
times and laws; and the saints will be given into his hand for a
time, and
times, and half a
time.
So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
As he came near to where I stood, I was
terrified and fell facedown. “Son of man,” he said to me, “understand that the vision concerns the
time of the end.”
And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the
indignation: for at the
time appointed the end shall be.
and said, “Behold, I will make known to you what will happen in the latter time of wrath, because it concerns the appointed time of the end.
And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
In the latter part of their reign, when the rebellion has reached its full measure, an
insolent king, skilled in
intrigue, will come to the throne.
And through his policy also he shall cause craft to
prosper in his hand; and he shall
magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Through his craft and by his hand, he will cause
deceit to
prosper, and in his own mind he will make himself great. In a
time of peace he will destroy many, and he will even stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be broken off, but not by human hands.
Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man
Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the
time of the evening
oblation.
while I was still praying,
Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the
time of the evening sacrifice.
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the
Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and
threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in
troublous times.
Know and understand this: From the
issuance of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until the
Messiah, the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be rebuilt with streets and a
trench, but in
times of distress.
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel, who was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, and it concerned a great conflict. And the understanding of the message was given to him in a vision.
And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that
begat her, and he that strengthened her in these
times.
After some years they will form an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the South will go to the king of the North to seal the agreement. But his daughter will not retain her position of power, nor will his strength
endure. At that
time she will be given up, along with her royal
escort and her father and the one who supported her.
And in those
times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall
exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.
In those
times many will rise up against the king of the South. Violent ones among your own people will
exalt themselves in
fulfillment of the vision, but they will fail.
And in his estate shall stand up a
vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in
peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by
flatteries.
In his place a
despicable person will arise; royal honors will not be given to him, but he will come in a
time of peace and seize the kingdom by
intrigue.
He shall enter
peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall
scatter among them the prey, and
spoil, and riches:
yea, and he shall
forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a
time.
In a
time of peace, he will
invade the richest provinces and do what his fathers and forefathers never did. He will
lavish plunder,
loot, and wealth on his followers, and he will plot against the strongholds—but only for a
time.
And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not
prosper: for yet the end shall be at the
time appointed.
And the two kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will speak lies at the same table, but to no
avail, for still the end will come at the appointed
time.
At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
At the appointed
time he will
invade the South again, but this
time will not be like the first.
And they that understand among the people shall
instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by
spoil, many days.
Those with insight will
instruct many, though for a
time they will fall by sword or flame, or be captured or
plundered.
And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to
purge, and to make them white, even to the
time of the end: because it is yet for a
time appointed.
Some of the wise will fall, so that they may be refined,
purified, and made spotless until the
time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed
time.
And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall
exalt himself, and
magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall
prosper till the
indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Then the king will do as he pleases and will
exalt and
magnify himself above every god, and he will speak
monstrous things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the
time of wrath is completed, for what has been decreed must be accomplished.
And at the
time of the end shall the king of the south
push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a
whirlwind, with
chariots, and with
horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
At the
time of the end, the king of the South will
engage him in battle, but the king of the North will storm out against him with
chariots,
horsemen, and many ships,
invading many countries and
sweeping through them like a flood.
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
“At that
time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a
time of distress, the likes of which will not have occurred from the beginning of nations until that
time. But at that
time your people—
everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the
time of the end: many shall run to and
fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the
time of the end. Many will
roam to and
fro, and knowledge will increase.”
And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and
sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a
time,
times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to
scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
And the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him
swear by Him who lives
forever, saying, “It will be for a
time, and
times, and half a
time. When the power of the holy people has finally been
shattered, all these things will be completed.”
And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
“Go on your way, Daniel,” he replied, “for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.
And from the
time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the
abomination that maketh
desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and
ninety days.
And from the
time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the
abomination of
desolation set up, there will be 1,290 days.
Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.
Therefore I will take back My grain in its time and My new wine in its season; I will take away My wool and linen, which were given to cover her nakedness.
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first
time: but they went to
Baal-peor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the firstfruits of the fig tree in its first season. But they went to
Baal-peor, and consecrated themselves to Shame; so they became as
detestable as the thing they loved.
Sow to
yourselves in righteousness,
reap in mercy; break up your
fallow ground: for it is
time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Sow for
yourselves righteousness and
reap the fruit of loving devotion; break up your
unplowed ground. For it is
time to seek the LORD until He comes and sends righteousness upon you like rain.
