Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.
Blessed are those who
uphold justice, who practice righteousness at all
times.
Many
times did he deliver them; but they
provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
Many
times He
rescued them, but they were bent on rebellion and
sank down in their iniquity.
Blessed be the name of the LORD from this
time forth and for
evermore.
Blessed be the name of the LORD both now and forevermore.
But we will
bless the LORD from this
time forth and for
evermore. Praise the LORD.
But it is we who will
bless the LORD, both now and forevermore.
Hallelujah!
My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
My soul is consumed with longing for Your judgments at all times.
It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.
It is time for the LORD to act, for they have broken Your law.
Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.
Seven times a day I praise You for Your righteous judgments.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this
time forth, and even for
evermore.
The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.
Many a
time have they
afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
Many a
time they have
persecuted me from my youth— let Israel now declare—
Many a
time have they
afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
many a
time they have
persecuted me from my youth, but they have not prevailed against me.
Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant
roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all
times; and be thou
ravished always with her love.
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
A man takes joy in a fitting reply— and how good is a timely word!
A friend loveth at all
times, and a brother is born for
adversity.
A friend loves at all
times, and a brother is born for
adversity.
The
sluggard will not
plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he
beg in harvest, and have nothing.
The slacker does not
plow in season; at harvest
time he looks, but nothing is there.
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
For though a righteous man may fall seven
times, he still gets up; but the wicked
stumble in bad
times.
As the cold of snow in the
time of harvest, so is a faithful
messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.
Like the cold of snow in the
time of harvest is a
trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the soul of his masters.
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
Like a broken tooth or a foot out of joint is confidence in a faithless man in time of trouble.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall
rejoice in
time to come.
Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can
laugh at the days to come.
Is there any thing
whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old
time, which was before us.
Is there a case where one can say, “Look, this is new”? It has already existed in the ages before us.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:
A
time to be born, and a
time to die; a
time to plant, and a
time to
pluck up that which is planted;
a
time to be born and a
time to die, a
time to plant and a
time to
uproot,
A
time to kill, and a
time to
heal; a
time to break down, and a
time to build up;
a
time to kill and a
time to
heal, a
time to break down and a
time to build,
A
time to
weep, and a
time to
laugh; a
time to
mourn, and a
time to dance;
a
time to
weep and a
time to
laugh, a
time to
mourn and a
time to dance,
A
time to cast away stones, and a
time to gather stones together; a
time to embrace, and a
time to
refrain from embracing;
a
time to cast away stones and a
time to gather stones together, a
time to embrace and a
time to
refrain from embracing,
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to search and a time to count as lost, a time to keep and a time to discard,
A
time to
rend, and a
time to
sew; a
time to keep silence, and a
time to speak;
a
time to
tear and a
time to
mend, a
time to be silent and a
time to speak,
A
time to love, and a
time to
hate; a
time of war, and a
time of peace.
a
time to love and a
time to
hate, a
time for war and a
time for peace.
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
He has made everything beautiful in its
time. He has also set
eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot
fathom the work that God has done from beginning to end.
I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
I said in my heart, “God will judge the righteous and the wicked, since there is a time for every activity and every deed.”
Be not over much wicked, neither be thou
foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy
time?
Do not be excessively wicked, and do not be a
fool. Why should you die before your
time?
For you know in your heart that many
times you
yourself have
cursed others.
Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both
time and judgment.
Whoever keeps his command will come to no
harm, and a wise heart knows the right
time and procedure.
Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.
For there is a right
time and procedure to every purpose, though a man’s misery weighs
heavily upon him.
All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a
time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own
hurt.
All this I have seen, applying my mind to every deed that is done under the sun; there is a
time when one man lords it over another to his own
detriment.
Though a
sinner do evil an hundred
times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
Although a
sinner does evil a hundred
times and still lives long, yet I also know that it will go well with those who fear God, who are
reverent in His presence.
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
I saw something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; neither is the bread to the wise, nor the wealth to the intelligent, nor the favor to the skillful. For time and chance happen to all.
For man also knoweth not his
time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the
snare; so are the sons of men
snared in an evil
time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.
For surely no man knows his
time: Like fish caught in a cruel net or birds
trapped in a
snare, so men are ensnared in an evil
time that suddenly falls upon them.
Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for
drunkenness!
Blessed are you, O land whose king is a son of nobles, and whose princes feast at the proper
time— for strength and not for
drunkenness.
I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye
stir not up, nor
awake my love, till he please.
O daughters of Jerusalem, I
adjure you by the gazelles and does of the field: Do not
arouse or
awaken love until the
time is right.
The flowers appear on the earth; the
time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the
turtle is heard in our land;
The flowers have appeared in the
countryside; the season of singing has come, and the
cooing of turtledoves is heard in our land.
I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye
stir not up, nor
awake my love, till he please.
O daughters of Jerusalem, I
adjure you by the gazelles and does of the field: Do not
arouse or
awaken love until the
time is right.
I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye
stir not up, nor
awake my love, until he please.
O daughters of Jerusalem, I
adjure you: Do not
arouse or
awaken love until the
time is right.
Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
By the
time He knows enough to
reject evil and choose good, He will be eating curds and honey.
The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
The LORD will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since the day Ephraim separated from Judah—He will bring the king of Assyria.”
Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men
rejoice when they divide the
spoil.
You have enlarged the nation and increased its joy. The people
rejoice before You as they
rejoice at harvest
time, as men
rejoice in dividing the
plunder.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and
sustain it with justice and righteousness from that
time and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will
accomplish this.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second
time to recover the
remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from
Cush, and from
Elam, and from
Shinar, and from
Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
On that day the Lord will extend His hand a second
time to recover the
remnant of His people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from
Cush, from
Elam, from
Shinar, from
Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their
desolate houses, and
dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her
time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
Hyenas will
howl in her fortresses and jackals in her
luxurious palaces. Babylon’s
time is at hand, and her days will not be prolonged.
Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed
times.
Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city!
Melt away, all you Philistines! For a cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there are no stragglers in its ranks.
This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.
This is the message that the LORD spoke earlier concerning Moab.
In that
time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and
peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and
trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have
spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount
Zion.
At that
time gifts will be brought to the LORD of Hosts— from a people tall and smooth-
skinned, from a people widely feared, from a powerful nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers— to Mount
Zion, the place of the Name of the LORD of Hosts.
At the same
time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the
sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy
shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and
barefoot.
the LORD had already spoken through Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, “Go, remove the
sackcloth from your
waist and the
sandals from your feet.” And Isaiah did so, walking around naked and
barefoot.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an
harlot.
At that
time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years—the span of a king’s life. But at the end of seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the
harlot:
Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the
time of her
delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.
As a woman with child about to give birth writhes and
cries out in pain, so were we in Your presence, O LORD.
From the
time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a
vexation only to understand the report.
As often as it passes through, it will carry you away; it will
sweep through morning after morning, by day and by night.” The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.
Is it not yet a very little while, and
Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
Go now, write it on a
tablet in their presence and
inscribe it on a
scroll; it will be for the days to come, a witness
forever and ever.
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be
sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
The light of the moon will be as bright as the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter—like the light of seven days—on the day that the LORD binds up the brokenness of His people and heals the wounds He has inflicted.
O LORD, be
gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the
time of trouble.
O LORD, be
gracious to us! We wait for You. Be our strength every morning and our salvation in
time of trouble.
And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy
times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his
treasure.
He will be the sure foundation for your
times, a
storehouse of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the LORD is
Zion’s
treasure.
Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient
times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste defenced cities into
ruinous heaps.
Have you not heard? Long ago I ordained it; in days of old I
planned it. Now I have brought it to pass, that you should
crush fortified cities into piles of
rubble.
At that
time Merodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to
Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.
At that
time Merodach-baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent letters and a gift to
Hezekiah, for he had heard about
Hezekiah’s illness and recovery.
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
The time will surely come when everything in your palace and all that your fathers have stored up until this day will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.
Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and
beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous?
yea, there is none that sheweth,
yea, there is none that declareth,
yea, there is none that heareth your words.
Who has declared this from the beginning, so that we may know, and from
times past, so that we may say: ‘He was right’? No one
announced it, no one
foretold it, no one heard your words.
“I have kept silent from ages past; I have remained quiet and restrained. But now I will
groan like a woman in labor; I will at once
gasp and
pant.
Who among you will give ear to this? who will
hearken and hear for the
time to come?
Who among you will pay attention to this? Who will
listen and obey
hereafter?
Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that
time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me?
yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Do not
tremble or fear. Have I not told you and declared it long ago? You are My witnesses! Is there any God but Me? There is no other Rock; I know not one.”
Tell ye, and bring them near;
yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient
time? who hath told it from that
time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
Speak up and present your case—
yes, let them take counsel together. Who
foretold this long ago? Who
announced it from ancient
times? Was it not I, the LORD? There is no other God but Me, a righteous God and
Savior; there is none but Me.
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
I declare the end from the beginning, and ancient
times from what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and all My good pleasure I will
accomplish.’
Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this
time, even hidden things, and thou
didst not know them.
You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not acknowledge them? From now on I will tell you of new things, hidden things unknown to you.
You have never heard; you have never understood; for a long
time your ears have not been open. For I knew how
deceitful you are; you have been called a
rebel from birth.
Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
Come near to Me and
listen to this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the
time it happened, I was there.” And now the Lord GOD has sent me, accompanied by His Spirit.
Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable
time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to
inherit the
desolate heritages;
This is what the LORD says: “In the
time of favor I will answer You, and in the day of salvation I will help You; I will keep You and
appoint You to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land, to
apportion its
desolate inheritances,
A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will
hasten it in his
time.
The least of you will become a thousand, and the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its
time I will
accomplish it quickly.
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
From ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.
And the word of the LORD came unto me the second
time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a
seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.
Again the word of the LORD came to me, asking, “What do you see?” “I see a boiling pot,” I replied, “and it is
tilting toward us from the north.”
For of old
time I have broken thy yoke, and
burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not
transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the
harlot.
“For long ago you broke your yoke and
tore off your chains, saying, ‘I will not serve!’ Indeed, on every high hill and under every green tree you lay down as a
prostitute.
Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
say to a tree, ‘You are my father,’ and to a stone, ‘You gave me birth.’ For they have turned their backs to Me and not their faces, yet in the
time of trouble they
beg, ‘Rise up and save us!’
But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.
But where are the gods you made for
yourselves? Let them rise up in your
time of trouble and save you if they can; for your gods are as numerous as your cities, O Judah.
Wilt thou not from this
time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
Have you not just called to Me, ‘My Father, You are my friend from youth.
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
At that
time Jerusalem will be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations will be gathered in Jerusalem to honor the name of the LORD. They will no longer follow the
stubbornness of their evil hearts.
At that
time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to
fan, nor to
cleanse,
At that
time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A
searing wind from the barren heights in the desert blows toward the daughter of My people, but not to
winnow or to
sift;
Were they
ashamed when they had committed
abomination?
nay, they were not at all
ashamed, neither could they
blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the
time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Are they
ashamed of the
abomination they have committed? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to
blush. So they will fall among the fallen; when I
punish them, they will
collapse,” says the LORD.
At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:
“At that time,” declares the LORD, “the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of the officials, the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the people of Jerusalem will be removed from their graves.
Yea, the
stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed
times; and the
turtle and the
crane and the
swallow observe the
time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.
Even the
stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons. The
turtledove, the swift, and the
thrush keep their
time of
migration, but My people do not know the requirements of the LORD.
Were they
ashamed when they had committed
abomination?
nay, they were not at all
ashamed, neither could they
blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the
time of their
visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Are they
ashamed of the
abomination they have committed? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to
blush. So they will fall among the fallen; when I
punish them, they will
collapse, says the LORD.
We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!
We hoped for peace, but no good has come, for a
time of
healing, but there was only terror.
They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the
time of their
visitation they shall perish.
They are worthless, a work to be
mocked. In the
time of their punishment they will perish.
For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will
sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
For this is what the LORD says: “Behold, at this
time I will
sling out the inhabitants of the land and bring distress upon them so that they may be captured.”
For I earnestly
protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and
protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
For from the
time I brought your fathers out of the land of Egypt until
today, I strongly
warned them again and again, saying, ‘Obey My voice.’
Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.
Then the cities of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to which they have been burning incense, but these gods certainly will not save them in their
time of
disaster.
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
As for you, do not pray for these people. Do not raise up a cry or a prayer on their behalf, for I will not be
listening when they call out to Me in their
time of
disaster.
And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me a second time:
O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in
time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a
wayfaring man that turneth aside to
tarry for a night?
O Hope of Israel, its
Savior in
times of distress, why are You like a stranger in the land, like a traveler who stays but a night?
Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul
lothed Zion? why hast thou
smitten us, and there is no
healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the
time of
healing, and behold trouble!
Have You rejected Judah completely? Do You
despise Zion? Why have You
stricken us so that we are beyond
healing? We hoped for peace, but no good has come, and for the
time of
healing, but there was only terror.
The LORD said: “Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose; surely I will
intercede with your enemy in your
time of trouble, in your
time of distress.
Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
“Therefore behold, I will inform them, and this time I will make them know My power and My might; then they will know that My name is the LORD.
At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to
pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
At any
time I might
announce that a nation or kingdom will be uprooted,
torn down, and destroyed.
And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
And if at another
time I
announce that I will build up and establish a nation or kingdom,
Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to
slay me:
forgive not their iniquity, neither
blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the
time of thine anger.
But You, O LORD, know all their deadly plots against me. Do not
wipe out their guilt or
blot out their sin from Your sight. Let them be overthrown before You; deal with them in the
time of Your anger.
