Break forth in joy, sing together, O ruins of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted His people; He has redeemed Jerusalem.
Sing, O barren, thou that
didst not bear;
break forth into singing, and cry
aloud, thou that
didst not
travail with child: for more are the children of the
desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
“
Shout for joy, O barren woman, who bears no children;
break forth in song and cry
aloud, you who have never
travailed; because more are the children of the
desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the LORD.
For thou shalt
break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall
inherit the Gentiles, and make the
desolate cities to be inhabited.
For you will spread out to the right and left; your descendants will dispossess the nations and inhabit the
desolate cities.
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall
break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall
clap their hands.
You will indeed go out with joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will
burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will
clap their hands.
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to
undo the heavy burdens, and to let the
oppressed go free, and that ye
break every yoke?
Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to
break the chains of wickedness, to
untie the cords of the yoke, to set the
oppressed free and
tear off every yoke?
Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Then your light will
break forth like the
dawn, and your
healing will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
If you turn your foot from breaking the Sabbath, from doing as you please on My holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight, and the LORD’s holy day honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way or seeking your own pleasure or speaking idle words,
He that killeth an ox is as if he
slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an
oblation, as if he offered
swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an
idol.
Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who slays a man;
whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who
breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever presents a grain offering is like one who offers pig’s blood;
whoever offers
frankincense is like one who blesses an
idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways and delighted in their abominations.
Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
Then the LORD said to me, “
Disaster from the north will be poured out on all who live in the land.
Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Moreover, your skirts are
stained with the blood of the innocent poor, though you did not find them
breaking in. But in spite of all these things
For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem,
Break up your
fallow ground, and
sow not among thorns.
For this is what the LORD says to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: “
Break up your
unplowed ground, and do not
sow among the thorns.
Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my
fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can
quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and remove the foreskins of your hearts, O men of Judah and people of Jerusalem. Otherwise, My wrath will
break out like fire and burn with no one to
extinguish it, because of your evil deeds.”
Do not
abhor us, for thy name’s sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember,
break not thy covenant with us.
For the sake of Your name do not
despise us; do not disgrace Your glorious throne. Remember Your covenant with us; do not
break it.
Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?
Then shalt thou
break the
bottle in the sight of the men that go with thee,
And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I
break this people and this city, as one
breaketh a
potter’s vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall
bury them in
Tophet, till there be no place to
bury.
and you are to
proclaim to them that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: I will
shatter this nation and this city, like one
shatters a
potter’s
jar that can never again be repaired. They will
bury the dead in Topheth until there is no more room to
bury them.

“Is not My word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that smashes a rock?”

Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the
captives of Judah, that went into Babylon, saith the LORD: for I will
break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
And I will restore to this place Jeconiah son of
Jehoiakim king of Judah, along with all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon,’ declares the LORD, ‘for I will
break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”
And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will I
break the yoke of
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
And in the presence of all the people Hananiah proclaimed, “This is what the LORD says: ‘In this way, within two years I will
break the yoke of
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon off the neck of all the nations.’” At this, Jeremiah the prophet went on his way.
For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will
break his yoke from off thy neck, and will
burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:
On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will
break the yoke off their necks and
tear off their bonds, and no longer will strangers
enslave them.
And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to
pluck up, and to
break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to
afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.
Just as I watched over them to
uproot and
tear down, to
demolish, destroy, and bring
disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant,” declares the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
“This is what the LORD says: If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that day and night cease to occupy their appointed time,
He shall break also the images of Beth-shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.
He will
demolish the sacred pillars of the temple of the sun in the land of Egypt, and he will burn down the temples of the gods of Egypt.’”
Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I
break down, and that which I have planted I will
pluck up, even this whole land.
Thus Jeremiah was to say to
Baruch: “This is what the LORD says: Throughout the land I will
demolish what I have built and
uproot what I have planted.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to
wander, and shall empty his vessels, and
break their bottles.
Therefore behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will send to him wanderers, who will pour him out. They will empty his vessels and
shatter his jars.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will
break the bow of
Elam, the chief of their might.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold, I will
shatter Elam’s bow, the
mainstay of their might.
Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.
Come against her from the
farthest border.
Break open her
granaries; pile her up like mounds of grain.
Devote her to destruction; leave her no survivors.

axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I
break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;
“You are My war club, My weapon for battle. With you I
shatter nations; with you I bring kingdoms to ruin.
And with thee will I
break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I
break in pieces the
chariot and his rider;
With thee also will I
break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I
break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I
break in pieces the young man and the
maid;
I will also
break in pieces with thee the
shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I
break in pieces the
husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I
break in pieces captains and rulers.
The tongue of the
sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for
thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man
breaketh it unto them.
The
nursing infant’s tongue clings in
thirst to the roof of his mouth. Little children
beg for bread, but no one gives them any.
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will
break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with
astonishment:
Then He told me, “Son of man, I am going to cut off the supply of food in Jerusalem. They will anxiously eat bread rationed by weight, and in
despair they will drink water by measure.
When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
When I shower you with the deadly arrows of famine and destruction that I will send to destroy you, I will
intensify the famine against you and cut off your supply of food.
So will I
break down the wall that ye have
daubed with untempered
morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will
tear down the wall you
whitewashed and level it to the ground, so that its foundation is exposed. The city will fall, and you will be destroyed within it. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by
trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will
break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
“Son of man, if a land sins against Me by acting unfaithfully, and I stretch out My hand against it to cut off its supply of food, to send famine upon it, and to cut off from it both man and beast,
And I will judge thee, as women that
break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in
fury and jealousy.
And I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit
adultery and those who shed blood; so I will bring upon you the wrath of your
bloodshed and jealousy.
And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
Then I will deliver you into the hands of your lovers, and they will level your mounds and
tear down your lofty shrines. They will strip off your clothes, take your fine
jewelry, and leave you naked and bare.
For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast
despised the oath in
breaking the covenant.
For this is what the Lord GOD says: I will deal with you according to your deeds, since you have
despised the oath by
breaking the covenant.
But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he
prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? or shall he
break the covenant, and be delivered?
But this king rebelled against Babylon by sending his envoys to Egypt to ask for horses and a large army. Will he
flourish? Will the one who does such things escape? Can he
break a covenant and yet escape?’
Seeing he
despised the oath by
breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape.
He
despised the oath by
breaking the covenant. Seeing that he gave his hand in
pledge yet did all these things, he will not escape!’
Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the
breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness
sigh before their eyes.
But you, son of man,
groan!
Groan before their eyes with a broken heart and bitter grief.
Thou shalt even drink it and
suck it out, and thou shalt
break the sherds thereof, and
pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
You will drink it and
drain it; you will
dash it to pieces, and
tear your breasts. For I have spoken,’ declares the Lord GOD.
And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and
break down her towers: I will also
scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock.
They will destroy the walls of Tyre and
demolish her towers. I will
scrape the soil from her and make her a bare rock.
And he shall set engines of war against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers.
He will direct the blows of his
battering rams against your walls and
tear down your towers with his axes.
And they shall make a
spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy
merchandise: and they shall
break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses: and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the water.
When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou
didst break, and
rend all their shoulder: and when they
leaned upon thee, thou brakest, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
When Israel took hold of you with their hands, you
splintered,
tearing all their shoulders; when they
leaned on you, you broke, and their backs were
wrenched.
At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be
darkened, when I shall
break there the yokes of Egypt: and the
pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.
The day will be
darkened in Tahpanhes when I
break the yoke of Egypt and her proud strength comes to an end. A cloud will cover her, and her daughters will go into captivity.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break his arms, both the strong one and the one already broken, and will make the sword fall from his hand.
And I will
strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will
break Pharaoh’s arms, and he shall
groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.
I will
strengthen the arms of Babylon’s king and place My sword in his hand, but I will
break the arms of Pharaoh, who will
groan before him like a
mortally wounded man.
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron:
forasmuch as iron
breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that
breaketh all these, shall it
break in pieces and
bruise.
Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom as strong as iron; for iron
shatters and crushes all things, and like iron that crushes all things, it will
shatter and
crush all the others.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall
break in pieces and
consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will
shatter all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself stand
forever.
Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and
break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine
iniquities by
shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a
lengthening of thy tranquility.
Therefore, may my advice be pleasing to you, O king.
Break away from your sins by doing what is right, and from your
iniquities by showing mercy to the
oppressed. Perhaps there will be an extension of your prosperity.”
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be
diverse from all kingdoms, and shall
devour the whole earth, and shall
tread it down, and
break it in pieces.
This is what he said: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on the earth, different from all the other kingdoms, and it will
devour the whole earth,
trample it down, and
crush it.
And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will
break the bow of Israel in the valley of
Jezreel.
And on that day I will
break the bow of Israel in the Valley of
Jezreel.”
And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the
creeping things of the ground: and I will
break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.
On that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the creatures that
crawl on the ground. And I will
abolish bow and sword and weapons of war in the land, and will make them lie down in safety.
When I would have
healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit
falsehood; and the
thief cometh in, and the
troop of robbers spoileth without.
When I
heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim will be exposed, as well as the crimes of Samaria. For they practice
deceit and
thieves break in;
bandits raid in the streets.
Their heart is divided; now shall they be found
faulty: he shall
break down their altars, he shall
spoil their images.
Their hearts are
devious; now they must bear their guilt. The LORD will
break down their altars and
demolish their sacred pillars.
And Ephraim is as an
heifer that is taught, and loveth to
tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to
ride; Judah shall
plow, and Jacob shall
break his clods.
Ephraim is a well-trained
heifer that loves to
thresh; but I will place a yoke on her fair neck. I will
harness Ephraim, Judah will
plow, and Jacob will
break the hard ground.
Sow to
yourselves in righteousness,
reap in mercy;
break up your
fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Sow for
yourselves righteousness and
reap the fruit of loving devotion;
break up your
unplowed ground. For it is time to seek the LORD until He comes and sends righteousness upon you like rain.
The sorrows of a
travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the
breaking forth of children.
Labor pains come upon him, but he is an unwise son. When the time arrives, he fails to present himself at the opening of the
womb.
They shall run like mighty men; they shall
climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not
break their ranks:
They charge like mighty men; they scale the walls like men of war. Each one marches in formation, not
swerving from the course.
Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
They do not
jostle one another; each proceeds in his path. They
burst through the defenses, never
breaking ranks.
I will
break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of
Aven, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from the house of
Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
I will
break down the gates of Damascus; I will cut off the ruler of the Valley of
Aven and the one who wields the
scepter in Beth-
eden. The people of
Aram will be exiled to Kir,” says the LORD.
Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he
break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and
devour it, and there be none to
quench it in
Bethel.
Seek the LORD and live, or He will
sweep like fire through the house of Joseph; it will
devour everything, with no one at
Bethel to
extinguish it.
But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty
tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
Then the LORD
hurled a great wind upon the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship was in danger of
breaking apart.
For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current
swirled about me; all Your
breakers and waves swept over me.
The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate, and go out by it. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD as their leader.
Who also eat the flesh of my people, and
flay their skin from off them; and they
break their bones, and
chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the
caldron.
You eat the flesh of my people after
stripping off their skin and
breaking their bones. You
chop them up like flesh for the
cooking pot, like meat in a cauldron.”
Arise and
thresh, O daughter of
Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy
hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will
consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
Rise and
thresh, O Daughter of
Zion, for I will give you horns of iron and
hooves of bronze to
break to pieces many peoples. Then you will
devote their gain to the LORD, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
For now will I
break his yoke from off thee, and will
burst thy bonds in
sunder.
For I will now
break their yoke from your neck and
tear away your
shackles.”
And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it
asunder, that I might
break my covenant which I had made with all the people.
Next I took my staff called Favor and cut it in two,
revoking the covenant I had made with all the nations.
Then I cut
asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might
break the
brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Then I cut in two my second staff called Union,
breaking the
brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal
treacherously every man against his brother, by
profaning the covenant of our fathers?
Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God
create us? Why then do we
break faith with one another so as to
profane the covenant of our fathers?
And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take
heed to your spirit, and let none deal
treacherously against the wife of his youth.
Has not the LORD made them one, having a portion of the Spirit? And why one? Because He seeks godly offspring. So guard
yourselves in your spirit and do not
break faith with the wife of your youth.
For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take
heed to your spirit, that ye deal not
treacherously.
“For I
hate divorce,” says the LORD, the God of Israel. “He who divorces his wife covers his garment with violence,” says the LORD of Hosts. So guard
yourselves in your spirit and do not
break faith.
Whosoever therefore shall
break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but
whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
So then,
whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but
whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not
forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not
break your oath, but
fulfill your vows to the Lord.’
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will
burst, the wine will
spill, and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple
profane the sabbath, and are
blameless?
Or
haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple
break the Sabbath and yet are innocent?
A
bruised reed shall he not
break, and smoking flax shall he not
quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
Why do thy disciples
transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
“Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They do not wash their hands before they eat.”
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also
transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
When
Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a
tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.
When
Pilate saw that he was
accomplishing nothing, but that instead a
riot was
breaking out, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “You bear the
responsibility.”
And
straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a
dove descending upon him:
As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, He saw the heavens
breaking open and the Spirit descending on Him like a
dove.
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
Soon a violent
windstorm came up, and the waves were
breaking over the boat, so that it was being
swamped.
And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
Then the two told what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they
brake not his legs:
But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
Jesus saith unto them, Come and
dine. And none of the disciples
durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
“Come, have
breakfast,” Jesus said to them. None of the disciples
dared to ask Him, “Who are You?” They knew it was the Lord.
And they continued
stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and
fellowship, and in
breaking of bread, and in prayers.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the
fellowship, to the
breaking of bread and to prayer.
And they, continuing daily with one
accord in the temple, and
breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with
gladness and singleness of heart,
With one
accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to
break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with
gladness and
sincerity of heart,
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to
break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the
morrow; and continued his speech until
midnight.
On the first day of the week we came together to
break bread. Since Paul was ready to leave the next day, he talked to them and kept on speaking until
midnight.
When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
Then Paul went back
upstairs, broke bread, and
ate. And after speaking until
daybreak, he departed.
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to
weep and to
break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
Then Paul answered, “Why are you
weeping and
breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Thou that makest thy
boast of the law, through
breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
You who
boast in the law, do you dishonor God by
breaking the law?
