Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their
daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness,
wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall
straiten them.
I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh in the siege and distress inflicted on them by their enemies who seek their lives.’
Take ye wives, and
beget sons and
daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your
daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and
daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.
Take wives and have sons and daughters. Take wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Multiply there; do not decrease.
How long
wilt thou go about, O thou
backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
How long will you
wander, O faithless
daughter? For the LORD has created a new thing in the land— a woman will shelter a man.”
And they built the high places of
Baal, which are in the valley of the son of
Hinnom, to cause their sons and their
daughters to pass through the fire unto
Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this
abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
They have built the high places of
Baal in the Valley of
Hinnom to make their sons and
daughters pass through the fire to
Molech—something I never commanded them, nor had it ever entered My mind, that they should commit such an
abomination and cause Judah to sin.
Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
And we have obeyed the voice of our
forefather Jonadab son of Rechab in all he commanded us. So we have not
drunk wine all our lives—neither we nor our wives nor our sons and
daughters.
Then
Ishmael carried away
captive all the residue of the people that were in
Mizpah, even the king’s
daughters, and all the people that remained in
Mizpah, whom Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam: and
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away
captive, and departed to go over to the
Ammonites.
Even men, and women, and children, and the king’s
daughters, and every person that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and
Baruch the son of Neriah.
the men, the women, the children, the king’s
daughters, and
everyone whom Nebuzaradan captain of the guard had allowed to remain with Gedaliah son of
Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, as well as Jeremiah the prophet and
Baruch son of Neriah.
Go up into
Gilead, and take
balm, O virgin, the
daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.
O thou
daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish
thyself to go into captivity: for
Noph shall be waste and
desolate without an inhabitant.
Pack your bags for exile, O
daughter dwelling in Egypt! For
Memphis will be laid waste, destroyed and uninhabited.
The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
The Daughter of Egypt will be put to shame; she will be delivered into the hands of the people of the north.”
Thou
daughter that
dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in
thirst; for the
spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.
Come down from your glory; sit on
parched ground, O
daughter dwelling in Dibon, for the destroyer of Moab has come against you; he has destroyed your fortresses.
Woe to you, O Moab! The people of
Chemosh have perished; for your sons have been taken into exile and your
daughters have gone into captivity.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an
alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the
Ammonites; and it shall be a
desolate heap, and her
daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.
Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will sound the battle cry against Rabbah of the
Ammonites. It will become a
heap of ruins, and its villages will be burned. Then Israel will drive out their dispossessors, says the LORD.
Howl, O
Heshbon, for
Ai is
spoiled: cry, ye
daughters of Rabbah,
gird you with
sackcloth;
lament, and run to and
fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.
Wail, O
Heshbon, for
Ai has been destroyed; cry out, O
daughters of Rabbah! Put on
sackcloth and
mourn; run back and forth within your walls, for Milcom will go into exile together with his priests and officials.
Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O
backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
Why do you
boast of your valleys— your valleys so fruitful, O faithless
daughter? You trust in your riches and say, ‘Who can come against me?’
They shall hold the bow and the
lance: they are cruel, and will not
shew mercy: their voice shall
roar like the sea, and they shall
ride upon horses, every one put in
array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O
daughter of Babylon.
They
grasp the bow and
spear; they are cruel and
merciless. Their voice roars like the sea, and they
ride upon horses, lined up like men in formation against you, O
Daughter of Babylon.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The
daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to
thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “The
Daughter of Babylon is like a
threshing floor at the time it is
trampled. In just a little while her harvest time will come.”
Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hamutal the
daughter of Jeremiah of
Libnah.
Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eleven years. His mother’s name was Hamutal
daughter of Jeremiah; she was from
Libnah.
And from the
daughter of
Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
All the
splendor has departed from the
Daughter of
Zion. Her princes are like deer that find no pasture; they lack the strength to
flee in the face of the hunter.
The Lord hath
trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to
crush my young men: the Lord hath
trodden the virgin, the
daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
The Lord has rejected all the mighty men in my midst; He has summoned an army against me to
crush my young warriors. Like grapes in a winepress, the Lord has
trampled the Virgin
Daughter of Judah.
How hath the Lord covered the
daughter of
Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his
footstool in the day of his anger!
How the Lord has covered the
Daughter of
Zion with the cloud of His anger! He has cast the glory of Israel from heaven to earth. He has abandoned His
footstool in the day of His anger.
The Lord hath
swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not
pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the
daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath
polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.
Without
pity the Lord has
swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob. In His wrath He has
demolished the fortified cities of the
Daughter of Judah. He brought to the ground and
defiled her kingdom and its princes.
He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an
adversary, and
slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the
daughter of
Zion: he poured out his
fury like fire.
He has bent His bow like an enemy; His right hand is positioned. Like a
foe He has killed all who were pleasing to the eye; He has poured out His wrath like fire on the tent of the
Daughter of
Zion.
The Lord was as an enemy: he hath
swallowed up Israel, he hath
swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the
daughter of Judah
mourning and
lamentation.
The Lord is like an enemy; He has
swallowed up Israel. He has
swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds. He has multiplied
mourning and
lamentation for the
Daughter of Judah.
The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the
daughter of
Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the
rampart and the wall to
lament; they
languished together.
The LORD determined to destroy the wall of the
Daughter of
Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withdraw His hand from destroying. He made the ramparts and walls
lament; together they waste away.
The elders of the
daughter of
Zion sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have
girded themselves with
sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem
hang down their heads to the ground.
The elders of the
Daughter of
Zion sit on the ground in silence. They have thrown dust on their heads and put on
sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.
Mine eyes do fail with tears, my
bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the
daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings
swoon in the streets of the city.
My eyes fail from
weeping; I am
churning within. My heart is poured out in grief over the destruction of the
daughter of my people, because children and infants
faint in the streets of the city.
What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I
liken to thee, O
daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin
daughter of
Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can
heal thee?
What can I say for you? To what can I compare you, O
Daughter of Jerusalem? To what can I
liken you, that I may
console you, O Virgin
Daughter of
Zion? For your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can ever
heal you?
All that pass by
clap their hands at thee; they hiss and
wag their head at the
daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?
All who pass by
clap their hands at you in
scorn. They hiss and
shake their heads at the
Daughter of Jerusalem: “Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of all the earth?”
Their heart
cried unto the Lord, O wall of the
daughter of
Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give
thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.
The hearts of the people cry out to the Lord. O wall of the
Daughter of
Zion, let your tears run down like a river day and night. Give
yourself no relief, and your eyes no rest.
Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Streams of tears flow from my eyes over the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
My eyes bring grief to my soul because of all the daughters of my city.
Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give
suck to their young ones: the
daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
Even jackals offer their breasts to
nurse their young, but the
daughter of my people has become cruel, like an
ostrich in the wilderness.
For the punishment of the iniquity of the
daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of
Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
The punishment of the
daughter of my people is greater than that of
Sodom, which was overthrown in an instant without a hand turned to help her.
The hands of the
pitiful women have
sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the
daughter of my people.
The hands of
compassionate women have
cooked their own children, who became their food in the destruction of the
daughter of my people.
Rejoice and be
glad, O
daughter of
Edom, that dwellest in the land of
Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be
drunken, and shalt make
thyself naked.
The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O
daughter of
Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O
daughter of
Edom; he will discover thy sins.
O
Daughter of
Zion, your punishment is complete; He will not
prolong your exile. But He will
punish your iniquity, O
Daughter of
Edom; He will
expose your sins.
Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the
daughters of thy people, which
prophesy out of their own heart; and
prophesy thou against them,
Now, O son of man, set your face against the
daughters of your people who
prophesy out of their own imagination.
Prophesy against them
Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor
daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be
desolate.
then as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, even if these three men were in it, they could not deliver their own sons or
daughters. They alone would be delivered, but the land would be
desolate.
Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.
then as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, even if these three men were in it, they could not deliver their own sons or daughters. They alone would be delivered.
Though
Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor
daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
then as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, even if
Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, they could not deliver their own sons or
daughters. Their righteousness could deliver only themselves.
Yet, behold, therein shall be left a
remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and
daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.
Yet, behold, some survivors will be left in it—sons and
daughters who will be brought out. They will come out to you, and when you see their conduct and actions, you will be comforted regarding the
disaster I have brought upon Jerusalem—all that I have brought upon it.
Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy
daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be
devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,
You even took the sons and
daughters you bore to Me and sacrificed them as food to idols. Was your
prostitution not enough?
Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that
hate thee, the
daughters of the Philistines, which are
ashamed of thy
lewd way.
Therefore I stretched out My hand against you and reduced your portion. I gave you over to the desire of those who
hate you, the
daughters of the Philistines, who were
ashamed of your
lewd conduct.
Behold, every one that useth
proverbs shall use this
proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her
daughter.
Thou art thy mother’s
daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which
lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
You are the
daughter of your mother, who
despised her husband and children. You are the sister of your sisters, who
despised their husbands and children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.
And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her
daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is
Sodom and her
daughters.
Your older sister was Samaria, who lived with her
daughters to your north; and your younger sister was
Sodom, who lived with her
daughters to your south.
As I live, saith the Lord GOD,
Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her
daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy
daughters.
As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, your sister
Sodom and her
daughters never did as you and your
daughters have done.
Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister
Sodom, pride,
fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her
daughters, neither did she
strengthen the hand of the poor and
needy.
Now this was the iniquity of your sister
Sodom: She and her
daughters were
arrogant, overfed, and
complacent; they did not help the poor and
needy.
When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of
Sodom and her
daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her
daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy
captives in the midst of them:
But I will restore
Sodom and her
daughters from captivity, as well as Samaria and her
daughters. And I will restore you along with them.
When thy sisters,
Sodom and her
daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her
daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy
daughters shall return to your former estate.
And your sisters,
Sodom with her
daughters and Samaria with her
daughters, will return to their former state. You and your
daughters will also return to your former state.
Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the
daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the
daughters of the Philistines, which
despise thee round about.
before your wickedness was uncovered? Even so, you are now
scorned by the
daughters of
Edom and all those around her, and by the
daughters of the Philistines—all those around you who
despise you.
Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be
ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for
daughters, but not by thy covenant.
Then you will remember your ways and be
ashamed when you receive your older and younger sisters. I will give them to you as
daughters, but not because of My covenant with you.
And one hath committed
abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath
lewdly defiled his
daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s
daughter.
One man commits an
abomination with his
neighbor’s wife; another wickedly defiles his
daughter-in-law; and yet another
violates his sister, his own father’s
daughter.
Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
“Son of man, there were two women, daughters of the same mother,
And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and
Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and
daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem
Aholibah.
The older was named Oholah, and her sister was named Oholibah. They became Mine and gave birth to sons and
daughters. As for their
identities, Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.
These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her
daughters, and
slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.
They exposed her nakedness, seized her sons and
daughters, and put her to the sword. Thus she became a
byword among women, and they executed judgment against her.
And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal
furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy
remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy
daughters; and thy residue shall be
devoured by the fire.
And I will set My
jealous rage against you, and they will deal with you in
fury. They will cut off your noses and ears, and your survivors will fall by the sword. They will seize your sons and
daughters, and your
remnant will be consumed by fire.
And the company shall stone them with stones, and
dispatch them with their swords; they shall
slay their sons and their
daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
The
mob will stone them and cut them down with their swords. They will kill their sons and
daughters and burn down their houses.
Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will
profane my sanctuary, the
excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your
daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.
Tell the house of Israel that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I am about to
desecrate My sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and the delight of your soul. And the sons and
daughters you left behind will fall by the sword.’
Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that
whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their
daughters,
And you, son of man, know that on the day I take away their
stronghold, their pride and joy—the desire of their eyes which
uplifted their souls—and their sons and
daughters as well,
And her daughters which are in the field shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
and the villages on her mainland will be slain by the sword. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’
He shall
slay with the sword thy
daughters in the field: and he shall make a fort against thee, and cast a mount against thee, and lift up the
buckler against thee.
He will slaughter the villages of your mainland with the sword; he will set up siege works against you, build a
ramp to your walls, and raise his shields against you.
At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be
darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the
pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her
daughters shall go into captivity.
The day will be
darkened in Tahpanhes when I break the yoke of Egypt and her proud strength comes to an end. A cloud will cover her, and her
daughters will go into captivity.
This is the
lamentation wherewith they shall
lament her: the
daughters of the nations shall
lament her: they shall
lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
This is the
lament they will
chant for her; the
daughters of the nations will
chant it. Over Egypt and all her multitudes they will
chant it, declares the Lord GOD.”
Son of man,
wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the
daughters of the famous nations, unto the
nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.
“Son of man,
wail for the multitudes of Egypt, and
consign her and the
daughters of the mighty nations to the depths of the earth with those who descend to the Pit:
And they shall come at no dead person to
defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for
daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may
defile themselves.
A priest must not
defile himself by going near a dead person. However, for a father, a mother, a son, a
daughter, a brother, or an unmarried sister, he may do so,
And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s
daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that
begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
After some years they will form an alliance, and the
daughter of the king of the South will go to the king of the North to seal the agreement. But his
daughter will not retain her position of power, nor will his strength
endure. At that time she will be given up, along with her royal
escort and her father and the one who supported her.
He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
He will
resolve to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and will reach an agreement with the king of the South. He will give him a
daughter in marriage in order to overthrow the kingdom, but his plan will not succeed or help him.
So he went and took
Gomer the
daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.
So
Hosea went and married
Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.
And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
Gomer again conceived and gave birth to a
daughter, and the LORD said to
Hosea, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have
compassion on the house of Israel, that I should ever
forgive them.
They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your
daughters shall commit
whoredom, and your spouses shall commit
adultery.
They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oak,
poplar, and
terebinth, because their shade is pleasant. And so your
daughters turn to
prostitution and your
daughters-in-law to
adultery.
I will not
punish your
daughters when they commit
whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit
adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that
doth not understand shall fall.
I will not
punish your
daughters when they
prostitute themselves, nor your
daughters-in-law when they commit
adultery. For the men themselves go off with prostitutes and offer sacrifices with
shrine prostitutes. So a people without understanding will come to ruin.
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your
daughters shall
prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and
daughters will
prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
And I will sell your sons and your
daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the
Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
I will sell your sons and
daughters into the hands of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the
Sabeans—to a distant nation.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an
harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy
daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a
polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a
prostitute in the city, and your sons and
daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you
yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
O thou inhabitant of
Lachish, bind the
chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the
daughter of
Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.
Harness your
chariot horses, O dweller of
Lachish. You were the beginning of sin to the
Daughter of
Zion, for the transgressions of Israel were found in you.
And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the
daughter of
Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the
daughter of Jerusalem.
And you, O
watchtower of the flock, O
stronghold of the
Daughter of
Zion— the former dominion will be restored to you; sovereignty will come to the
Daughter of Jerusalem.”
Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O
daughter of
Zion, like a woman in
travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall
redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
Writhe in
agony, O
Daughter of
Zion, like a woman in labor. For now you will leave the city and camp in the open fields. You will go to Babylon; there you will be
rescued; there the LORD will
redeem you from the hand of your enemies!
Arise and
thresh, O
daughter of
Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy
hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will
consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
Rise and
thresh, O
Daughter of
Zion, for I will give you horns of iron and
hooves of bronze to break to pieces many peoples. Then you will
devote their gain to the LORD, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
Now gather
thyself in troops, O
daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall
smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the
cheek.
Now, O
daughter of troops,
mobilize your troops; for a siege is laid against us! With a rod they will strike the
cheek of the judge of Israel.
For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies are the members of his own household.
From beyond the rivers of
Ethiopia my suppliants, even the
daughter of my
dispersed, shall bring mine offering.
From beyond the rivers of
Cush My worshipers, My scattered people, will bring Me an offering.
Sing, O
daughter of
Zion;
shout, O Israel; be
glad and
rejoice with all the heart, O
daughter of Jerusalem.
Deliver
thyself, O
Zion, that dwellest with the
daughter of Babylon.
“Get up, O
Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the
Daughter of Babylon!”
Sing and
rejoice, O
daughter of
Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
“
Shout for joy and be
glad, O
Daughter of
Zion, for I am coming to dwell among you,” declares the LORD.
Rejoice greatly, O
daughter of
Zion;
shout, O
daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an
ass, and upon a
colt the
foal of an
ass.
Rejoice greatly, O
Daughter of
Zion!
Shout in triumph, O
Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a

treacherously, and an

But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Jesus turned and saw her. “Take courage,
daughter,” He said, “your faith has

daughter was
