Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations
whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
And you, My servant Jacob, do not be afraid, declares the LORD, for I am with you. Though I will completely destroy all the nations to which I have banished you, I will not completely destroy you. Yet I will discipline you justly, and will by no means leave you unpunished.”
Thy prophets have seen vain and
foolish things for thee: and they have not
discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of
banishment.
The visions of your prophets were empty and
deceptive; they did not
expose your guilt to ward off your captivity. The burdens they envisioned for you were empty and misleading.
He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
Let him sit alone in silence, for God has disciplined him.
The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of
Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of
Edom; he will
discover thy sins.
O Daughter of
Zion, your punishment is complete; He will not
prolong your exile. But He will
punish your iniquity, O Daughter of
Edom; He will
expose your sins.
Then said he unto me, Son of man,
dig now in the wall: and when I had
digged in the wall, behold a door.
“Son of man,” He told me, “
dig through the wall.” So I
dug through the wall and
discovered a
doorway.
So will I break down the wall that ye have
daubed with untempered
morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be
discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will
tear down the wall you
whitewashed and level it to the ground, so that its foundation is exposed. The city will fall, and you will be destroyed within it. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy
filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness
discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou
didst give unto them;
This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your
promiscuity with your lovers and with all your
detestable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them,
Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast
hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will
discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
therefore I will surely gather all the lovers with whom you found pleasure, all those you loved and all those you
hated. I will gather them against you from all around and
expose you before them, and they will see you completely naked.
Before thy wickedness was
discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which
despise thee round about.
before your wickedness was uncovered? Even so, you are now
scorned by the daughters of
Edom and all those around her, and by the daughters of the Philistines—all those around you who
despise you.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are
discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to
remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have drawn attention to your guilt,
exposing your transgressions, so that your sins are revealed in all your deeds—because you have come to
remembrance—you shall be taken in hand.
In thee have they
discovered their fathers’ nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for
pollution.
In you they have uncovered the nakedness of their fathers; in you they
violate women during their
menstrual impurity.
These
discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and
slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.
They exposed her nakedness, seized her sons and daughters, and put her to the sword. Thus she became a
byword among women, and they executed judgment against her.
So she
discovered her whoredoms, and
discovered her nakedness: then my mind was
alienated from her, like as my mind was
alienated from her sister.
When Oholibah openly
prostituted herself and exposed her nakedness, I turned away from her in
disgust, just as I had turned away from her sister.
And they shall deal with thee
hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be
discovered, both thy
lewdness and thy whoredoms.
They will treat you with hatred, take all for which you have worked, and leave you naked and bare, so that the shame of your
prostitution will be exposed. Your
indecency and
promiscuity And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and
profane, and cause them to
discern between the unclean and the clean.
They are to teach My people the difference between the holy and the common, and show them how to
discern between the clean and the unclean.
Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to
slay the wise men of Babylon:
When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had gone out to
execute the wise men of Babylon, Daniel replied with
discretion and
tact.
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the
discerning.
And now will I
discover her
lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.
And then I will
expose her
lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no one will deliver her out of My hands.
When I would have
healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was
discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit
falsehood; and the
thief cometh in, and the
troop of robbers spoileth without.
When I
heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim will be exposed, as well as the crimes of Samaria. For they practice
deceit and
thieves break in;
bandits raid in the streets.
Who is wise, and he shall understand these things?
prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
And the LORD God prepared a
gourd, and made it to come up over
Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So
Jonah was exceeding
glad of the
gourd.
So the LORD God appointed a vine, and it grew up to provide shade over
Jonah’s head to ease his
discomfort, and
Jonah was greatly pleased with the plant.
And should not I
spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than
sixscore thousand persons that cannot
discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
So should I not care about the great city of
Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well?”
Therefore I will make Samaria as an
heap of the field, and as plantings of a
vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will
discover the foundations thereof.
Therefore I will make Samaria a
heap of
rubble in the open field, a planting area for a
vineyard. I will pour her stones into the valley and
expose her foundations.
Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will
discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will
shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
“Behold, I am against you,” declares the LORD of Hosts. “I will lift your skirts over your face. I will show your nakedness to the nations and your shame to the kingdoms.
Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine
anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by
discovering the foundation unto the neck.
Selah.
You went forth for the salvation of Your people, to save Your
anointed. You
crushed the head of the house of the wicked and
stripped him from head to
toe.
Selah Then shall ye return, and
discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain and sat down. His disciples came to Him,

bury my father.”

woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

disciples do not fast?”

disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to
heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

heal every disease and sickness.
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
It is enough for the
disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house
Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
It is enough for a disciple to be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and
hid, that shall not be known.
So do not be afraid of them. For there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.
And
whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a
disciple,
verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
And if
anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My
disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.”

disciples were an

scribe which is
instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his

discipled in the kingdom of heaven is like a homeowner who brings out of his
storeroom new treasures as well as old.”

But he answered her not a word. And his
disciples came and
besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
But Jesus did not answer a word. So His disciples came and urged Him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
Then Jesus called his
disciples unto him, and said, I have
compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they
faint in the way.

disciples to Him and said, “I have

basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can
discern the face of the sky; but can ye not
discern the signs of the times?

Today it will be
stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to
interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times.

Philippi, he asked his
disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

shew unto his
disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and
scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

sorry.
They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life.” And the
disciples were deeply
grieved.

disciples,

Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and that You teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You seek favor from no one, because You pay no attention to external appearance.

disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where
wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the
passover?

Unleavened Bread, the
disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the
Passover?”
And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the
passover at thy house with my
disciples.
He answered, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him that the Teacher says, ‘My time is near. I will keep the

disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is
betrayed into the hands of sinners.

disciples and said, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is
betrayed into the hands of sinners.
