And they did bind the
breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the
ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious
girdle of the
ephod, and that the
breastplate might not be loosed
from the
ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Then they
tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the
ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece was above the
waistband of the
ephod and would not
swing out
from the
ephod, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet
thereat:
and from it Moses, Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and feet.
And when the cloud was taken up
from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went
onward in all their journeys:
Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out through all the stages of their journey.
And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
Then the LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the
herd, and of the flock.
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any of you brings an offering to the LORD, you may bring as your offering an animal
from the
herd or the flock.
If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the
herd, let him offer a male without
blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
If one’s offering is a burnt offering
from the
herd, he is to present an
unblemished male. He must bring it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for its acceptance before the LORD.
And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without
blemish.
If, however, one’s offering is a burnt offering
from the flock—
from the sheep or goats—he is to present an
unblemished male.
And the priest shall take
from the meat offering a
memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
The priest is to remove the
memorial portion
from the grain offering and burn it on the altar as an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And every
oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking
from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.
And you shall season each of your grain offerings with salt. You must not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offering; you are to add salt to each of your offerings.
And if his
oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the
herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without
blemish before the LORD.
“If one’s offering is a peace offering and he offers an animal
from the
herd, whether male or female, he must present it without
blemish before the LORD.
And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
From the peace offering he is to bring an offering made by fire to the LORD: the fat that covers the
entrails, all the fat that is on them,
And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the LORD be of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without
blemish.
If, however, one’s peace offering to the LORD is
from the flock, he must present a male or female without
blemish.
And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat thereof, and the whole
rump, it shall he take off hard by the
backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
And
from the peace offering he shall bring an offering made by fire to the LORD consisting of its fat: the entire fat tail cut off close to the
backbone, the fat that covers the
entrails, all the fat that is on them,
And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
And
from his offering he shall present an offering made by fire to the LORD: the fat that covers the
entrails, all the fat that is on them,
And he shall take off
from it all the fat of the
bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
Then he shall remove all the fat
from the bull of the sin offering—the fat that covers the
entrails, all the fat that is on them,
As it was taken off
from the
bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.
just as the fat is removed from the ox of the peace offering. Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.
And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be
hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;
Now if the whole congregation of Israel strays
unintentionally and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly so that they
violate any of the LORD’s commandments and
incur guilt by doing what is forbidden,
And he shall take all his fat from him, and burn it upon the altar.
And he is to remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar.
And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away
from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the LORD; and the priest shall make an
atonement for him, and it shall be
forgiven him.
Then he is to remove all the fat, just as it is removed
from the peace offering, and the priest is to burn it on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD. In this way the priest will make
atonement for him, and he will be
forgiven.
And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away
from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the priest shall make an
atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be
forgiven him.
And he shall remove all the fat, just as the fat of the lamb is removed
from the peace offerings, and he shall burn it on the altar along with the offerings made by fire to the LORD. In this way the priest will make
atonement for him for the sin he has committed, and he will be
forgiven.
Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a
carcase of an unclean beast, or a
carcase of unclean cattle, or the
carcase of unclean
creeping things, and if it be hidden
from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.
Or if a person touches anything unclean—whether the
carcass of any unclean wild animal or
livestock or
crawling creature—even if he is unaware of it, he is unclean and guilty.
Or if he touch the uncleanness of man,
whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man shall be
defiled withal, and it be
hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty.
Or if he touches human uncleanness—anything by which one becomes unclean—even if he is unaware of it, when he realizes it, he is guilty.
Or if a soul
swear,
pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good,
whatsoever it be that a man shall
pronounce with an oath, and it be
hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
Or if someone swears
thoughtlessly with his lips to do anything good or evil—in whatever matter a man may
rashly pronounce an oath—even if he is unaware of it, when he realizes it, he is guilty in the matter.
And he shall bring his
trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath
sinned, a female
from the flock, a lamb or a
kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his sin.
and he must bring his guilt offering to the LORD for the sin he has committed: a female lamb or goat
from the flock as a sin offering. And the priest will make
atonement for him concerning his sin.
And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first, and
wring off his head
from his neck, but shall not divide it
asunder:
He is to bring them to the priest, who shall first present the one for the sin offering. He is to twist its head at the front of its neck without severing it;
Then shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, even a
memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: it is a sin offering.
He is to bring it to the priest, who shall take a handful
from it as a
memorial portion and burn it on the altar
atop the offerings made by fire to the LORD; it is a sin offering.
If a soul commit a
trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his
trespass unto the LORD a ram without
blemish out of the flocks, with thy
estimation by shekels of silver, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, for a
trespass offering:
“If someone acts unfaithfully and sins
unintentionally against any of the LORD’s holy things, he must bring his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram
from the flock, of proper value in silver shekels according to the sanctuary
shekel; it is a guilt offering.
And he shall bring a ram without
blemish out of the flock, with thy
estimation, for a
trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he
erred and
wist it not, and it shall be
forgiven him.
He is to bring to the priest an
unblemished ram of proper value
from the flock as a guilt offering. Then the priest will make
atonement on his behalf for the wrong he has committed in ignorance, and he will be
forgiven.
Then he must bring to the priest his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram of proper value
from the flock.
And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen
breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.
And the priest shall put on his linen
robe and linen undergarments, and he shall remove
from the altar the ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed and place them beside it.
And he shall take of it his handful, of the flour of the meat offering, and of the oil thereof, and all the
frankincense which is upon the meat offering, and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour, even the
memorial of it, unto the LORD.
The priest is to remove a handful of fine flour and olive oil, together with all the
frankincense from the grain offering, and burn the
memorial portion on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
All the males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations concerning the offerings of the LORD made by fire: every one that toucheth them shall be holy.
Any male among the sons of Aaron may eat it. This is a permanent portion from the offerings made by fire to the LORD for the generations to come. Anything that touches them will become holy.”
And he shall offer of it all the fat thereof; the
rump, and the fat that covereth the inwards,
And all the fat
from it shall be offered: the fat tail, the fat that covers the
entrails,
And of it he shall offer one out of the whole
oblation for an
heave offering unto the LORD, and it shall be the priest’s that sprinkleth the blood of the peace offerings.
From the cakes he must present one portion of each offering as a contribution to the LORD. It belongs to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering.
And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an
abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.
If any of the meat
from his peace offering is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted. It will not be credited to the one who presented it; it shall be an
abomination, and the one who eats of it shall bear his iniquity.
But the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that
pertain unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off
from his people.
But if
anyone who is unclean eats meat
from the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off
from his people.
Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any
abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which
pertain unto the LORD, even that soul shall be cut off
from his people.
If one touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness, an unclean animal, or any unclean,
detestable thing, and then eats any of the meat of the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off
from his people.”
For
whosoever eateth the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off
from his people.
If
anyone eats the fat of an animal
from which an offering made by fire may be presented to the LORD, the one who eats it must be cut off
from his people.
Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off
from his people.
If
anyone eats blood, that person must be cut off
from his people.’”
And the right shoulder shall ye give unto the priest for an
heave offering of the sacrifices of your peace offerings.
And you are to give the right
thigh to the priest as a contribution
from your peace offering.
For the wave breast and the
heave shoulder have I taken of the children of Israel
from off the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and have given them unto Aaron the priest and unto his sons by a statute for ever
from among the children of Israel.
I have taken
from the sons of Israel the breast of the wave offering and the
thigh of the contribution of their peace offerings, and I have given them to Aaron the priest and his sons as a permanent portion
from the sons of Israel.’”
And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt offering: they were consecrations for a sweet savour: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Then Moses took these
from their hands and burned them on the altar with the burnt offering. This was an
ordination offering, a pleasing
aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
But the fat, and the
kidneys, and the
caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses.
On the altar he burned the fat, the
kidneys, and the
lobe of the liver
from the sin offering, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And the fat of the
bullock and of the ram, the
rump, and that which covereth the inwards, and the
kidneys, and the
caul above the liver:
They also brought the fat portions
from the ox and the ram—the fat tail, the fat covering the
entrails, the
kidneys, and the
lobe of the liver—
And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.
Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having made the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering, he
stepped down.
And there came a fire out
from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they
shouted, and fell on their faces.
Fire came out
from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they
shouted for joy and fell facedown.
And there went out fire
from the LORD, and
devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died in the presence of the LORD.
And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, sons of Aaron’s uncle Uzziel, and said to them, “Come here; carry the bodies of your cousins outside the camp, away from the front of the sanctuary.”
And ye shall not go out
from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the
anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
You shall not go outside the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, or you will die, for the LORD’s
anointing oil is on you.” So they did as Moses
instructed.
And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto
Eleazar and unto
Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without
leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:
And Moses said to Aaron and his remaining sons,
Eleazar and
Ithamar, “Take the grain offering that remains
from the offerings made by fire to the LORD and eat it without
leaven beside the altar, because it is most holy.
And the wave breast and
heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons’ due, which are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
And you and your sons and daughters may eat the breast of the wave offering and the
thigh of the contribution in a
ceremonially clean place, because these portions have been assigned to you and your children
from the peace offerings of the sons of Israel.
Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be
drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
Any food coming into contact with water from that pot will be unclean, and any drink in such a container will be unclean.
And he that eateth of the
carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the
carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
Whoever eats
from the
carcass must wash his clothes and will be unclean until evening, and
anyone who picks up the
carcass must wash his clothes and will be unclean until evening.
And she shall then continue in the blood of her
purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no
hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her
purifying be fulfilled.
The woman shall continue in
purification from her
bleeding for thirty-three days. She must not touch anything sacred or go into the sanctuary until the days of her
purification are complete.
But if she bear a
maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her
purifying threescore and six days.
If, however, she gives birth to a daughter, the woman will be unclean for two weeks as she is during her
menstruation. Then she must continue in
purification from her
bleeding for sixty-six days.
Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an
atonement for her; and she shall be
cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.
And the priest will present them before the LORD and make
atonement for her; and she shall be
ceremonially cleansed from her flow of blood. This is the law for a woman giving birth, whether to a male or to a female.
And if a
leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the
leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague
from his head even to his foot,
wheresoever the priest looketh;
But if the skin disease breaks out all over his skin so that it covers all the skin of the
infected person
from head to foot, as far as the priest can see,
But if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning
boil; and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
But if the spot remains unchanged and does not spread, it is only the
scar from the
boil, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
And if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning.
But if the spot is unchanged and has not spread on the skin but has
faded, it is a swelling
from the burn, and the priest is to
pronounce him clean; for it is only the
scar from the burn.
And he that hath his hair fallen off
from the part of his head toward his face, he is
forehead bald: yet is he clean.
Or if his hairline recedes and he is
bald on his
forehead, he is still clean.
And the garment, either
warp, or
woof, or
whatsoever thing of skin it be, which thou shalt wash, if the plague be departed
from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and shall be clean.
If the
mildew disappears
from the
fabric,
weave, or
knit, or any leather article after washing, then it is to be washed again, and it will be clean.
And he shall
sprinkle upon him that is to be
cleansed from the
leprosy seven times, and shall
pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.
Seven times he shall
sprinkle the one to be
cleansed of the skin disease. Then he shall
pronounce him clean and release the live bird into the open field.
And the priest shall take some of the blood of the
trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the
tip of the right ear of him that is to be
cleansed, and upon the
thumb of his right hand, and upon the great
toe of his right foot:
The priest is to take some of the blood
from the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one to be
cleansed, on the
thumb of his right hand, and on the
big toe of his right foot.
And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an
atonement for him that is to be
cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering:
Then the priest is to sacrifice the sin offering and make
atonement for the one to be
cleansed from his uncleanness. After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering
And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.
This uncleanness is from his discharge, whether his body allows the discharge to flow or blocks it. So his discharge will bring about uncleanness.
And when he that hath an issue is
cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his
cleansing, and wash his clothes, and
bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.
When the man has been
cleansed from his discharge, he must count off seven days for his
cleansing, wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in fresh water, and he shall be clean.
And if any man’s seed of
copulation go out
from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.
When a man has an
emission of
semen, he must
bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and
whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.
When a woman has a discharge consisting of blood
from her body, she will be unclean due to her
menstruation for seven days, and
anyone who touches her will be unclean until evening.
Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel
from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they
defile my tabernacle that is among them.
You must keep the children of Israel separate
from their uncleanness, so that they do not die by
defiling My tabernacle, which is among them.
This is the law of him that hath an issue, and of him whose seed goeth
from him, and is
defiled therewith;
This is the law of him who has a discharge, of the man who has an
emission of
semen whereby he is unclean,
And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
And he shall take from the congregation of Israel two male goats for a sin offering and one ram for a burnt offering.
And he shall take a
censer full of burning coals of fire
from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the
vail:
Then he must take a
censer full of burning coals
from the altar before the LORD, and two handfuls of finely ground
fragrant incense, and take them inside the
veil.
And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an
atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an
atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
No one may be in the Tent of Meeting
from the time Aaron goes in to make
atonement in the Most Holy Place until he leaves, after he has made
atonement for himself, his household, and the whole assembly of Israel.
And he shall
sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and
cleanse it, and
hallow it
from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
He is to
sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times to
cleanse it and
consecrate it
from the uncleanness of the Israelites.
For on that day shall the priest make an
atonement for you, to
cleanse you, that ye may be clean
from all your sins before the LORD.
because on this day
atonement will be made for you to
cleanse you, and you will be clean
from all your sins before the LORD.
What man
soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,
‘
Anyone from the house of Israel who slaughters an ox, a lamb, or a goat in the camp or outside of it
And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
instead of bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to present it as an offering to the LORD before His tabernacle—that man shall
incur bloodguilt. He has shed blood and must be cut off
from among his people.
And thou shalt say unto them,
Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which
sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering of sacrifice,
Tell them that if
anyone from the house of Israel or any foreigner living among them offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice
And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.
but does not bring it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to sacrifice it to the LORD, that man must be cut off from his people.
And
whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off
from among his people.
If
anyone from the house of Israel or a foreigner living among them eats any blood, I will set My face against that person and cut him off
from among his people.
For
whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off
from among their people.
Therefore
anyone who commits any of these abominations must be cut off
from among his people.
Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath
profaned the
hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off
from among his people.
Whoever eats it will bear his iniquity, for he has
profaned what is holy to the LORD. That person must be cut off
from his people.
And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off
from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto
Molech, to
defile my sanctuary, and to
profane my holy name.
And I will set My face against that man and cut him off
from his people, because by giving his offspring to
Molech, he has
defiled My sanctuary and
profaned My holy name.
And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes
from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto
Molech, and kill him not:
And if the people of the land ever hide their eyes and fail to put to death the man who gives one of his children to
Molech,
Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a
whoring after him, to commit
whoredom with
Molech,
from among their people.
then I will set My face against that man and his family and cut off
from among their people both him and all who follow him in
prostituting themselves with
Molech.
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a
whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off
from among his people.
Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists to
prostitute himself with them, I will also set My face against that person and cut him off
from his people.
And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
If a man lies with a
menstruating woman and has sexual relations with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has uncovered the source of her blood. Both of them must be cut off
from among their people.
But I have said unto you, Ye shall
inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you
from other people.
But I have told you that you will
inherit their land, since I will give it to you as an inheritance—a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart
from the peoples.
Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls
abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated
from you as unclean.
You are therefore to distinguish between clean and unclean animals and birds. Do not become
contaminated by any animal or bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground; I have set these apart as unclean for you.
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
You are to be holy to Me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be My own.
They shall not take a wife that is a
whore, or
profane; neither shall they take a woman put away
from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.
A widow, or a
divorced woman, or
profane, or an
harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.
Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves
from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they
profane not my holy name in those things which they
hallow unto me: I am the LORD.
“Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings that the Israelites have consecrated to Me, so that they do not
profane My holy name. I am the LORD.
