gather together; they come to you. As surely as I live,” declares the LORD, “you will wear them all as

afar, and your daughters will be carried on the arm.

gathered to you; the rams of Nebaioth will serve you and go up on My altar with acceptance; I will
adorn My glorious house.

grape gatherer over the branches.”
Therefore I am full of the
fury of the LORD; I am
weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.
But I am full of the LORD’s wrath; I am
tired of holding it back. “Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the young men
gathered together. For both husband and wife will be captured, the old and the very old alike.

gather wood, and the fathers
kindle the fire, and the women
knead their
dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may
provoke me to anger.

gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women
knead the
dough to make cakes for the Queen of Heaven; they pour out drink offerings to other gods to
provoke Me to anger.

assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have

flee to the fortified cities and perish there, for the LORD our God has
doomed us. He has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have
sinned against the LORD.

prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like
Shiloh, and this city shall be
desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were
gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.

dare you
prophesy in the name of the LORD that this house will become like
Shiloh and this city will be
desolate and deserted!” And all the people assembled against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.

gather them from the

lame,
expectant mothers and women in labor. They will return as a great assembly!

proclaim it in distant coastlands: “The One who scattered Israel will
gather them and keep them as a
shepherd keeps his flock.

gather them out of all countries,
whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my

Mizpah to represent you before the Chaldeans who come to us. As for you,
gather wine grapes, summer fruit, and oil, place them in your
storage jars, and live in the cities you have taken.”

slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he
slay thee, that all the Jews which are
gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the
remnant in Judah perish?
Then Johanan son of Kareah spoke privately to Gedaliah at
Mizpah. “Let me go and kill
Ishmael son of Nethaniah,” he said. “No one will know it. Why should he take your life and
scatter all the people of Judah who have
gathered to you, so that the
remnant of Judah would perish?”
Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.

headlong, with no one to regather the fugitives.
If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some
gleaning grapes? if
thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.

grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleanings? Were
thieves to come in the night, would they not
steal only what they wanted?
I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

Make bright the arrows;
gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his
device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the
vengeance of the LORD, the
vengeance of his temple.
Sharpen the arrows! Fill the quivers! The LORD has
aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes, because His plan is aimed at Babylon to destroy her, for it is the
vengeance of the LORD—
vengeance for His temple.
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even
gather you from the people, and
assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

gather you from the peoples and
assemble you from the countries to which you have been scattered, and I will give back to you the land of Israel.’
Behold, therefore I will
gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast
hated; I will even
gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
therefore I will surely
gather all the lovers with whom you found pleasure, all those you loved and all those you
hated. I will
gather them against you from all around and
expose you before them, and they will see you completely naked.
And I will bring you out from the people, and will
gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with
fury poured out.

gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be

gather you from the lands to which you have been scattered, I will accept you as a pleasing
aroma. And I will show My
holiness through you in the sight of the nations.

As they
gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to
melt it; so will I
gather you in mine anger and in my
fury, and I will leave you there, and
melt you.
Just as one
gathers silver, copper, iron, lead, and tin into the furnace to
melt with a
fiery blast, so I will
gather you in My anger and wrath, leave you there, and
melt you.
Yea, I will
gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.
Yes, I will
gather you together and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you will be melted within the city.

thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

thigh and shoulder— fill it with choice bones.

Yet thus saith the Lord GOD; At the end of forty years will I
gather the Egyptians from the people
whither they were scattered:
For this is what the Lord GOD says: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the nations to which they were scattered.
And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
I will bring them out from the peoples, gather them from the countries, and bring them into their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines, and in all the settlements of the land.
For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all the countries, and I will bring you back into your own land.
And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen,
whither they be gone, and will
gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the Israelites out of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them from all around and bring them into their own land.
Be thou prepared, and prepare for
thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
Get ready; prepare
yourself, you and all your company
gathered around you; you will be their guard.
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
After a long time you will be summoned. In the latter years you will enter a land that has recovered from war, whose people were
gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been
desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and all now dwell securely.
To take a
spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the
desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are
gathered out of the nations, which have
gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
in order to seize the
spoil and carry off the
plunder, to turn a hand against the
desolate places now inhabited and against a people
gathered from the nations, who have acquired
livestock and possessions and who live at the center of the land.’
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of
Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a
spoil? hast thou
gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great
spoil?
Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of
Tarshish with all its villages will ask, ‘Have you come to capture the
plunder? Have you assembled your hordes to carry away
loot, to make off with silver and gold, to take cattle and goods, to seize great
spoil?’
So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall
spoil those that
spoiled them, and
rob those that
robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
They will not
gather wood from the
countryside or cut it from the forests, for they will use the weapons for fuel. They will
loot those who
looted them and
plunder those who
plundered them, declares the Lord GOD.
And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every
feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field,
Assemble yourselves, and come;
gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
And as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: Call out to every kind of bird and to every beast of the field: ‘
Assemble and come together from all around to the
sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood.
When I have brought them again from the people, and
gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am
sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
When I bring them back from the peoples and
gather them out of the lands of their enemies, I will show My
holiness in them in the sight of many nations.
Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Then they will know that I am the LORD their God, when I regather them to their own land, not leaving any of them behind after their exile among the nations.
Then
Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to
gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the
dedication of the image which
Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Then King
Nebuchadnezzar sent word to
assemble the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the other officials of the provinces to attend the
dedication of the statue he had set up.
Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were
gathered together unto the
dedication of the image that
Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that
Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
So the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the rulers of the provinces assembled for the
dedication of the statue that King
Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before it.
And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
and when the satraps, prefects, governors, and royal advisers had gathered around, they saw that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men. Not a hair of their heads was singed, their robes were unaffected, and there was no smell of fire on them.
Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be
gathered together, and
appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of
Jezreel.
Then the people of Judah and of Israel will be
gathered together, and they will
appoint for themselves one leader, and will go up out of the land. For great will be the day of
Jezreel.
Yea, though they have
hired among the nations, now will I
gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
Though they
hire allies among the nations, I will now round them up, and they will begin to diminish under the oppression of the king of princes.
For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall
gather them up,
Memphis shall
bury them: the pleasant places for their silver,
nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
For even if they
flee destruction, Egypt will
gather them and
Memphis will
bury them. Their precious silver will be taken over by thistles, and thorns will overrun their tents.
It is in my desire that I should
chastise them; and the people shall be
gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.
Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly,
gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
Consecrate a fast;
proclaim a solemn assembly!
Gather the elders and all the residents of the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.
Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
Nations
writhe in
horror before them; every face turns pale.
I will also
gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of
Jehoshaphat, and will
plead with them there for my people and for my
heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
I will
gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of
Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning My people, My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations as they divided up My land.
Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and
gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
Come quickly, all you surrounding nations, and
gather yourselves. Bring down Your mighty ones, O LORD.
Then answered
Amos, and said to
Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an
herdman, and a
gatherer of sycomore fruit:
“I was not a prophet,”
Amos replied, “nor was I the son of a prophet; rather, I was a
herdsman and a tender of
sycamore-fig trees.
If
thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have
stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?
“If
thieves came to you, if robbers by night— oh, how you will be ruined— would they not
steal only what they wanted? If
grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleanings?
And all the
graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the
hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay
desolate: for she
gathered it of the
hire of an
harlot, and they shall return to the
hire of an
harlot.
All her carved images will be
smashed to pieces; all her wages will be burned in the fire, and I will destroy all her idols. Since she collected the wages of a
prostitute, they will be used again on a
prostitute.
I will surely
assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely
gather the
remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of
Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
I will surely
gather all of you, O Jacob; I will collect the
remnant of Israel. I will bring them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in the midst of its pasture— a
noisy throng.
In that day, saith the LORD, will I
assemble her that halteth, and I will
gather her that is driven out, and her that I have
afflicted;
“On that day,” declares the LORD, “I will
gather the
lame; I will
assemble the outcast, even those whom I have
afflicted.
Now also many nations are
gathered against thee, that say, Let her be
defiled, and let our eye look upon
Zion.
But now many nations have assembled against you, saying, “Let her be
defiled, and let us feast our eyes on
Zion.”
But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall
gather them as the
sheaves into the floor.
But they do not know the thoughts of the LORD or understand His plan, for He has
gathered them like
sheaves to the
threshing floor.
Now
gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall
smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the
cheek.
Now, O daughter of troops,
mobilize your troops; for a siege is laid against us! With a rod they will strike the
cheek of the judge of Israel.
Woe is me! for I am as when they have
gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the
vintage: there is no
cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees
smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all
gather blackness.
Thy
shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man
gathereth them.
O king of Assyria, your
shepherds slumber; your officers sleep. Your people are scattered on the mountains with no one to
gather them.
They shall come all for violence: their faces shall
sup up as the east wind, and they shall
gather the captivity as the sand.
All of them come bent on violence; their hordes advance like the east wind; they gather prisoners like sand.
They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and
gather them in their
drag: therefore they
rejoice and are
glad.
The
foe pulls all of them up with a hook; he catches them in his
dragnet, and
gathers them in his fishing net; so he rejoices
gladly.
Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as
hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but
gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:
and wealth indeed betrays him. He is an
arrogant man never at rest. He enlarges his
appetite like
Sheol, and like Death, he is never satisfied. He
gathers all the nations to himself and collects all the peoples as his own.
Gather yourselves together,
yea,
gather together, O nation not desired;
Gather yourselves,
gather together, O shameful nation,
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to
gather the nations, that I may
assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine
indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be
devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
Therefore wait for Me,” declares the LORD, “until the day I rise to
testify. For My decision is to
gather nations, to
assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them My
indignation— all My burning anger. For all the earth will be consumed by the fire of My jealousy.
I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
“I will
gather those among you who
grieve over the appointed feasts, so that you will no longer suffer reproach.
Behold, at that time I will
undo all that
afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and
gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
Behold, at that time, I will deal with all who
afflict you. I will save the
lame and
gather the scattered; and I will
appoint praise and fame for the disgraced throughout the earth.
At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
At that time I will bring you in;
yes, at that time I will
gather you. For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your
captives before your very eyes,” says the LORD.
I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
I will
whistle for them to
gather, for I have redeemed them; and they will be as numerous as they once were.
I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and
gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of
Gilead and
Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.
I will bring them back from Egypt and
gather them from Assyria. I will bring them to
Gilead and
Lebanon until no more room is found for them.
And in that day will I make Jerusalem a
burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be

On that day, when all the nations of the earth
gather against her, I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who would
heave it away will be severely injured.
For I will
gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses
