Yea, all Israel
have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the
curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we
have sinned against him.
All Israel has
transgressed Your law and turned away, refusing to obey Your voice; so the oath and the
curse written in the Law of Moses the servant of God has been poured out on us, because we
have sinned against You.
And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
You
have carried out the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing upon us a great
disaster. For under all of heaven, nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem.
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our
iniquities, and understand thy truth.
Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this
disaster has come upon us, yet we
have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our
iniquities and giving attention to Your truth.
Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
Therefore the LORD has kept the
calamity in store and brought it upon us. For the LORD our God is righteous in all He does; yet we
have not obeyed His voice.
And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast
gotten thee
renown, as at this day; we
have sinned, we
have done wickedly.
Now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and who made for
Yourself a name
renowned to this day, we
have sinned; we
have acted wickedly.
And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.
He
instructed me and spoke with me, saying: “O Daniel, I
have come now to give you insight and understanding.
At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to
shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
At the beginning of your petitions, an answer went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are highly precious. So consider the message and understand the vision:
And after
threescore and two weeks shall
Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Then after the sixty-two weeks the
Messiah will be cut off and will
have nothing. Then the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations
have been decreed.
And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood
trembling.
He said to me, “Daniel, you are a man who is highly precious. Consider carefully the words that I am about to say to you. Stand up, for I
have now been sent to you.” And when he had said this to me, I stood up
trembling.
Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou
didst set thine heart to understand, and to
chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
“Do not be afraid, Daniel,” he said, “for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble
yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I
have come in
response to them.
Now I am come to make thee understand what shall
befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision concerns those days.”
And, behold, one like the
similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I
have retained no strength.
And suddenly one with the likeness of a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and said to the one standing before me, “My lord, because of the vision, I am overcome with
anguish, and I
have no strength.
For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me,
straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
How can I, your servant, speak with you, my lord? Now I have no strength, nor is any breath left in me.”
And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong,
yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
“Do not be afraid, you who are highly precious,” he said. “Peace be with you! Be strong now; be very strong!” As he spoke with me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”
Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of
Grecia shall come.
“Do you know why I have come to you?” he said. “I must return at once to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I have gone forth, behold, the prince of Greece will come.
And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his
posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be
plucked up, even for others beside those.
But as soon as he is established, his kingdom will be broken up and
parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it
have the authority with which he ruled, because his kingdom will be uprooted and given to others.
And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
The king of the South will grow strong, but one of his commanders will grow even stronger and will rule his own kingdom with great authority.
He shall enter
peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers
have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall
scatter among them the prey, and
spoil, and riches:
yea, and he shall
forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
In a time of peace, he will
invade the richest provinces and do what his fathers and forefathers never did. He will
lavish plunder,
loot, and wealth on his followers, and he will plot against the strongholds—but only for a time.
For the ships of
Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be
grieved, and return, and
have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and
have intelligence with them that
forsake the holy covenant.
Ships of Kittim will come against him, and he will lose heart. Then he will turn back and
rage against the holy covenant and do damage. So he will return and show favor to those who
forsake the holy covenant.
But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and over all the riches of Egypt, and the Libyans and Cushites will also submit to him.
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
“At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress, the likes of which will not
have occurred from the beginning of nations until that time. But at that time your people—
everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and
sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall
have accomplished to
scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
And the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him
swear by Him who lives
forever, saying, “It will be for a time, and times, and half a time. When the power of the holy people has finally been
shattered, all these things will be completed.”
The beginning of the word of the LORD by
Hosea. And the LORD said to
Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great
whoredom, departing from the LORD.
And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
Gomer again conceived and gave birth to a daughter, and the LORD said to
Hosea, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer
have compassion on the house of Israel, that I should ever
forgive them.
But I will
have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by
horsemen.
Yet I will
have compassion on the house of Judah, and I will save them—not by bow or sword or war, not by horses and cavalry, but by the LORD their God.”
And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.
And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees,
whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers
have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
I will destroy her vines and fig trees, which she thinks are the wages paid by her lovers. So I will make them into a
thicket, and the beasts of the field will
devour them.
And I will
sow her unto me in the earth; and I will
have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
And I will
sow her as My own in the land, and I will
have compassion on ‘No
Compassion.’ I will say to those called ‘Not My People,’ ‘You are My people,’ and they will say, ‘You are my God.’”
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also
reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also
forget thy children.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you
have rejected knowledge, I will also
reject you as My priests. Since you
have forgotten the law of your God, I will also
forget your children.
For they shall eat, and not
have enough: they shall commit
whoredom, and shall not increase: because they
have left off to take
heed to the LORD.
They will eat but not be satisfied; they will be
promiscuous but not multiply. For they
have stopped obeying the LORD.
My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to
err, and they
have gone a
whoring from under their God.
My people
consult their wooden idols, and their divining rods inform them. For a spirit of
prostitution leads them
astray and they
have played the
harlot against their God.
Their drink is
sour: they
have committed
whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
Hear ye this, O priests; and
hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye
have been a
snare on
Mizpah, and a net spread upon
Tabor.
“Hear this, O priests! Take
heed, O house of Israel! Give ear, O royal house! For this judgment is against you because you
have been a
snare at
Mizpah, a net spread out on
Tabor.
And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I
have been a
rebuker of them all.
The rebels are deep in slaughter; but I will
chastise them all.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not
hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest
whoredom, and Israel is
defiled.
I know all about Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me. For now, O Ephraim, you
have turned to
prostitution; Israel is
defiled.
They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God, for a spirit of
prostitution is within them, and they do not know the LORD.
They
have dealt
treacherously against the LORD: for they
have begotten strange children: now shall a month
devour them with their portions.
They
have been unfaithful to the LORD; for they
have borne
illegitimate children. Now the New Moon will
devour them along with their land.
Ephraim shall be
desolate in the day of
rebuke: among the tribes of Israel
have I made known that which shall surely be.
Ephraim will be laid waste on the day of
rebuke. Among the tribes of Israel I
proclaim what is certain.
Therefore
have I
hewed them by the prophets; I
have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
Therefore I
have hewn them by the prophets; I
have slain them by the words of My mouth, and My judgments go forth like
lightning.
But they, like Adam,
have transgressed the covenant; there they were unfaithful to Me.
And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit
lewdness.
Like raiders who lie in
ambush, so does a band of priests; they murder on the way to
Shechem; surely they
have committed
atrocities.
When I would
have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit
falsehood; and the
thief cometh in, and the
troop of robbers spoileth without.
When I
heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim will be exposed, as well as the crimes of Samaria. For they practice
deceit and
thieves break in;
bandits raid in the streets.
And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings
have beset them about; they are before my face.
But they fail to consider in their hearts that I remember all their evil. Now their deeds are all around them; they are before My face.
In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.
The princes are inflamed with wine on the day of our king; so he joins hands with those who
mock him.
For they
have made ready their heart like an
oven, whiles they lie in wait: their
baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
For they prepare their heart like an
oven while they lie in wait; all night their anger smolders; in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.
They are all hot as an
oven, and
have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.
All of them are hot as an
oven, and they
devour their rulers. All their kings fall; not one of them calls upon Me.
Strangers
have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not:
yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.
Foreigners
consume his strength, but he does not notice. Even his hair is
streaked with gray, but he does not know.
Woe unto them! for they
have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they
have transgressed against me: though I
have redeemed them, yet they
have spoken lies against me.
Woe to them, for they
have strayed from Me! Destruction to them, for they
have rebelled against Me! Though I would
redeem them, they speak lies against Me.
And they
have not
cried unto me with their heart, when they
howled upon their beds: they
assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they
rebel against me.
They do not cry out to Me from their hearts when they
wail upon their beds. They
slash themselves for grain and new wine, but turn away from Me.
Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.
Although I trained and strengthened their arms, they plot evil against Me.
Set the
trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they
have transgressed my covenant, and
trespassed against my law.
Put the ram’s horn to your lips! An eagle looms over the house of the LORD, because the people
have transgressed My covenant and rebelled against My law.
They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
They set up kings, but not by Me. They make princes, but without My
approval. With their silver and gold they make themselves idols, to their own destruction.
For they
have sown the wind, and they shall
reap the
whirlwind: it hath no
stalk: the
bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall
swallow it up.
For they
sow the wind, and they shall
reap the
whirlwind. There is no standing grain; what
sprouts fails to yield flour. Even if it should produce, the foreigners would
swallow it up.
For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild
ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath
hired lovers.
For they
have gone up to Assyria like a wild
donkey on its own. Ephraim has
hired lovers.
Yea, though they
have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
Though they
hire allies among the nations, I will now round them up, and they will begin to diminish under the oppression of the king of princes.
I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
Though I wrote for them the great things of My law, they regarded them as something strange.
Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a
whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every
cornfloor.
The days of
visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a
fool, the spiritual man is
mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
The days of punishment
have come; the days of
retribution have arrived— let Israel know it. The prophet is called a
fool, and the inspired man
insane, because of the greatness of your iniquity and hostility.
They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
They
have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah; He will remember their guilt; He will
punish their sins.
Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
I
have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a
meadow. But Ephraim will bring out his children for slaughter.
My God will cast them away, because they did not
hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
My God will
reject them because they
have not obeyed Him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
Israel was a
luxuriant vine, yielding fruit for himself. The more his fruit increased, the more he increased the altars. The better his land produced, the better he made the sacred pillars.
For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?
Surely now they will say, “We
have no king, for we do not
revere the LORD. What can a king do for us?”
They
have spoken words,
swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springeth up as
hemlock in the furrows of the field.
They speak mere words; with false oaths they make covenants. So judgment springs up like poisonous weeds in the furrows of a field.
O Israel, thou hast
sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.
Since the days of Gibeah you
have sinned, O Israel, and there you
have remained. Did not the battle in Gibeah overtake the sons of iniquity?
Ye
have plowed wickedness, ye
have reaped iniquity; ye
have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou
didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.
You
have plowed wickedness and
reaped injustice; you
have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you
have trusted in your own way and in the multitude of your mighty men,
And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
And Ephraim boasts: “How rich I have become! I have found wealth for myself. In all my labors, they can find in me no iniquity that is sinful.”
I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
I spoke through the prophets and multiplied their visions; I gave parables through the prophets.
And now they sin more and more, and
have made them
molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the
craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice
kiss the
calves.
Now they sin more and more and make for themselves cast images, idols
skillfully made from their silver, all of them the work of
craftsmen. People say of them, “They offer human sacrifice and
kiss the
calves!”
According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was
exalted; therefore
have they forgotten me.
When they had pasture, they became satisfied; when they were satisfied, their hearts became proud, and as a result they
forgot Me.
O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for you
have stumbled by your iniquity.
Ephraim shall say, What
have I to do any more with idols? I
have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green
fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
O Ephraim, what
have I to do anymore with idols? It is I who answer and watch over him. I am like a flourishing
cypress; your fruit comes from Me.
He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
It has laid waste My
grapevine and
splintered My fig tree. It has
stripped off the bark and thrown it away; the branches
have turned white.
The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD’S ministers,
mourn.
Grain and drink offerings
have been cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests are in
mourning, those who minister before the LORD.
How do the beasts
groan! the herds of cattle are
perplexed, because they
have no pasture;
yea, the flocks of sheep are made
desolate.
How the cattle
groan! The herds
wander in confusion because they
have no pasture. Even the flocks of sheep are suffering.
O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath
devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
To You, O LORD, I call, for fire has consumed the open pastures and flames
have scorched all the trees of the field.
The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath
devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
Even the beasts of the field
pant for You, for the streams of water
have dried up, and fire has consumed the open pastures.
Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
Do not be afraid, O beasts of the field, for the open pastures have turned green, the trees bear their fruit, and the fig tree and vine yield their best.
And ye shall eat in
plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt
wondrously with you: and my people shall never be
ashamed.
You will
have plenty to eat, until you are satisfied. You will praise the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders for you. My people will never again be put to shame.
I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of
Jehoshaphat, and will
plead with them there for my people and for my
heritage Israel, whom they
have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of
Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning My people, My inheritance, Israel, whom they
have scattered among the nations as they divided up My land.
And they
have cast lots for my people; and
have given a boy for an
harlot, and sold a
girl for wine, that they might drink.
Yea, and what
have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye
recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
Now what do you
have against Me, O Tyre,
Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you rendering against Me a
recompense? If you
retaliate against Me, I will swiftly and speedily return your
recompense upon your heads.
Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
For you took My silver and gold and carried off My finest treasures to your temples.
The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, to send them far from their homeland.
Behold, I will raise them out of the place
whither ye
have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
Behold, I will
rouse them from the places to which you sold them; I will return your
recompense upon your heads.
Egypt shall be a
desolation, and
Edom shall be a
desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they
have shed innocent blood in their land.
Egypt will become
desolate, and
Edom a desert wasteland, because of the violence done to the people of Judah, in whose land they shed innocent blood.
For I will
avenge their blood, which I
have not yet
avenged.” For the LORD dwells in
Zion.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they
have threshed Gilead with
threshing instruments of iron:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Damascus, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they
threshed Gilead with sledges of iron.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of
Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they
have ripped up the women with child of
Gilead, that they might
enlarge their border:
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they
have despised the law of the LORD, and
have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to
err, after the which their fathers
have walked:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Judah, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they
reject the Law of the LORD and fail to keep His statutes; they are led
astray by the lies in which their fathers walked.
That
pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the
meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same
maid, to
profane my holy name:
They
trample on the heads of the poor as on the dust of the earth; they
push the
needy out of their way. A man and his father
have relations with the same
girl and so
profane My holy name.
You only
have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will
punish you for all your
iniquities.
“Only you
have I known from all the families of the earth; therefore I will
punish you for all your
iniquities.”
Will a lion
roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he
have taken nothing?
Does a lion
roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion
growl in his den if he has caught nothing?
Can a bird fall in a
snare upon the earth, where no
gin is for him? shall one take up a
snare from the earth, and
have taken nothing at all?
Does a bird land in a
snare where no
bait has been set? Does a
trap spring from the ground when it has nothing to catch?
And I will
smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall
have an end, saith the LORD.
I will
tear down the winter house along with the summer house; the houses of ivory will also perish, and the great houses will come to an end,” declares the LORD.
And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I
beset all your cities with cleanness of teeth and all your towns with lack of bread, yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
And also I
have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece
whereupon it rained not
withered.
“I also
withheld the rain from you when the harvest was three months away. I sent rain on one city but
withheld it from another. One field received rain; another without rain
withered.
So two or three cities
wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet
have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
People
staggered from city to city for water to drink, but they were not satisfied; yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
I
have smitten you with blasting and
mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the
palmerworm devoured them: yet
have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I struck you with
blight and
mildew in your growing gardens and vineyards; the
locust devoured your fig and olive trees, yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
