And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the
bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said,
Here am I.
When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called out to him from within the
bush, “Moses, Moses!” “
Here I am,” he answered.
But every woman shall
borrow of
her neighbour, and of
her that sojourneth in
her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and
raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall
spoil the Egyptians.
Every woman shall ask
her neighbor and any woman staying in
her house for silver and gold
jewelry and clothing, and you will put them on your sons and daughters. So you will
plunder the Egyptians.”
And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not
eloquent, neither
heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
“Please, Lord,” Moses replied, “I have never been
eloquent, neither in the past nor since You have spoken to Your servant, for I am slow of speech and tongue.”
Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the
foreskin of
her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a
bloody husband art thou to me.
But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off
her son’s
foreskin, and touched it to Moses’ feet. “Surely you are a
bridegroom of blood to me,” she said.
Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as
heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.
“You shall no longer supply the people with straw for making bricks. They must go and gather their own straw.
And the tale of the bricks, which they did make
heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
But require of them the same
quota of bricks as before; do not reduce it. For they are
lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’
And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both
yesterday and to day, as
heretofore?
Then the
Israelite foremen, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over the people, were beaten and asked, “Why have you not fulfilled your
quota of bricks
yesterday or
today, as you did before?”
And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did
swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an
heritage: I am the LORD.
And I will bring you into the land that I
swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD!’”
Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the
asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very
grievous murrain.
then the hand of the LORD will bring a severe plague on your
livestock in the field—on your horses,
donkeys, camels,
herds, and flocks.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be
hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every
herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that
hail may fall on all the land of Egypt—on man and beast and every plant of the field throughout the land of Egypt.”
And the
hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the
hail smote every
herb of the field, and
brake every tree of the field.
Throughout the land of Egypt, the
hail struck down everything in the field, both man and beast; it beat down every plant of the field and
stripped every tree.
And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
“We will go with our young and old,” Moses replied. “We will go with our sons and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, for we must hold a feast to the LORD.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every
herb of the land, even all that the
hail hath left.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt, so that the locusts may
swarm over it and
devour every plant in the land—everything that the
hail has left behind.”
For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was
darkened; and they did eat every
herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the
hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the
herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
They covered the face of all the land until it was black, and they consumed all the plants on the ground and all the fruit on the trees that the
hail had left behind. Nothing green was left on any tree or plant in all the land of Egypt.
And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go, worship the LORD. Even your little ones may go with you; only your flocks and herds must stay behind.”
Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man
borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of
her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
Now
announce to the people that men and women alike should ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold.”
And they shall eat the flesh in that night,
roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter
herbs they shall eat it.
They are to eat the meat that night,
roasted over the fire, along with
unleavened bread and bitter
herbs.
Also take your flocks and your
herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and
bless me also.
Take your flocks and
herds as well, just as you have said, and depart! And
bless me also.”
And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
And a mixed multitude also went up with them, along with great droves of
livestock, both flocks and
herds.
Then
Miriam the
prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a
tambourine in
her hand, and all the women followed
her with tambourines and dancing.
Then Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her back,
After Moses had sent back his wife Zipporah, his father-in-law Jethro had received her,
And
her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an
alien in a strange land:
along with her two sons. One son was named Gershom, for Moses had said, “I have been a foreigner in a foreign land.”
And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.
He sent word to Moses, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons.”
If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.
If she please not
her master, who hath
betrothed her to himself, then shall he let
her be redeemed: to sell
her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt
deceitfully with
her.
If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who had designated her for himself, he must allow her to be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, since he has broken faith with her.
And if he have
betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with
her after the manner of daughters.
And if he chooses her for his son, he must deal with her as with a daughter.
If he take him another wife;
her food,
her raiment, and
her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
If he takes another wife, he must not reduce the food, clothing, or
marital rights of his first wife.
And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
If, however, he does not provide
her with these three things, she is free to go without
monetary payment.
If men
strive, and
hurt a woman with child, so that
her fruit depart from
her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
If men who are fighting strike a
pregnant woman and
her child is born
prematurely, but there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband demands and as the court allows.
If a man seduces a virgin who is not
pledged in marriage and sleeps with
her, he must pay the full
dowry for
her to be his wife.
If
her father utterly refuse to give
her unto him, he shall pay money according to the
dowry of virgins.
If
her father absolutely refuses to give
her to him, the man still must pay an amount comparable to the
bridal price of a virgin.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay here, so that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”
And he said unto the elders,
Tarry ye
here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.
And he said to the elders, “Wait
here for us until we return to you. Aaron and Hur are
here with you.
Whoever has a dispute can go to them.”
And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
“If Your Presence does not go with us,” Moses replied, “do not lead us up from here.
For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
For how then can it be known that Your people and I have found favor in Your sight, unless You go with us? How else will we be distinguished from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
No one may go up with you; in fact, no one may be seen
anywhere on the mountain—not even the flocks or
herds may
graze in front of the mountain.”
And all the women that were wise hearted did
spin with their hands, and brought that which they had
spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen.
Every skilled woman
spun with
her hands and brought what she had
spun: blue, purple, or scarlet yarn, or fine linen.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the
herd, and of the flock.
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any of you brings an offering to the LORD, you may bring as your offering an animal from the
herd or the flock.
If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the
herd, let him offer a male without
blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
If one’s offering is a burnt offering from the
herd, he is to present an
unblemished male. He must bring it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for its acceptance before the LORD.
And if his
oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the
herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without
blemish before the LORD.
“If one’s offering is a peace offering and he offers an animal from the
herd, whether male or female, he must present it without
blemish before the LORD.
And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, sons of Aaron’s uncle Uzziel, and said to them, “Come here; carry the bodies of your cousins outside the camp, away from the front of the sanctuary.”
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for
her infirmity shall she be unclean.
“Say to the Israelites, ‘A woman who becomes
pregnant and gives birth to a son will be unclean for seven days, as she is during the days of
her menstruation.
And she shall then continue in the blood of
her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no
hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of
her purifying be fulfilled.
The woman shall continue in
purification from
her bleeding for thirty-three days. She must not touch anything sacred or go into the sanctuary until the days of
her purification are complete.
But if she bear a
maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in
her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of
her purifying threescore and six days.
If, however, she gives birth to a daughter, the woman will be unclean for two weeks as she is during
her menstruation. Then she must continue in
purification from
her bleeding for sixty-six days.
And when the days of
her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young
pigeon, or a
turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
When the days of
her purification are complete, whether for a son or for a daughter, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young
pigeon or a
turtledove for a sin offering.
Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an
atonement for
her; and she shall be
cleansed from the issue of
her blood. This is the law for
her that hath born a male or a female.
And the priest will present them before the LORD and make
atonement for
her; and she shall be
ceremonially cleansed from
her flow of blood. This is the law for a woman giving birth, whether to a male or to a female.
And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an
atonement for
her, and she shall be clean.
But if she cannot afford a lamb, she shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. Then the priest will make
atonement for
her, and she will be clean.’”
And if a woman have an issue, and
her issue in
her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and
whosoever toucheth
her shall be unclean until the even.
When a woman has a discharge consisting of blood from
her body, she will be unclean due to
her menstruation for seven days, and
anyone who touches
her will be unclean until evening.
And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth upon shall be unclean.
Anything on which she lies or sits during
her menstruation will be unclean,
And
whosoever toucheth
her bed shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.
and
anyone who touches
her bed must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
And if it be on
her bed, or on any thing
whereon she sitteth, when he toucheth it, he shall be unclean until the even.
And whether it is a bed or furniture on which she was sitting,
whoever touches it will be unclean until evening.
And if any man lie with
her at all, and
her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed
whereon he lieth shall be unclean.
If a man lies with
her and
her menstrual flow touches him, he will be unclean for seven days, and any bed on which he lies will become unclean.
And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.
When a woman has a discharge of
her blood for many days at a time other than
her menstrual period, or if it continues beyond
her period, she will be unclean all the days of
her unclean discharge, just as she is during the days of
her menstruation.
Every bed
whereon she lieth all the days of
her issue shall be unto
her as the bed of
her separation: and
whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of
her separation.
Any bed on which she lies or any furniture on which she sits during the days of
her discharge will be unclean, like
her bed during
her menstrual period.
But if she be
cleansed of
her issue, then she shall number to
herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.
When a woman is
cleansed of
her discharge, she must count off seven days, and after that she will be
ceremonially clean.
And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
On the eighth day she is to take two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an
atonement for
her before the LORD for the issue of
her uncleanness.
The priest is to sacrifice one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make
atonement for
her before the LORD for
her unclean discharge.
And of her that is sick of her flowers, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean.
of a woman in
her menstrual period, of any male or female who has a discharge, and of a man who lies with an unclean woman.’”
The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
You must not
expose the nakedness of your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; you must not have sexual relations with
her.
The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter,
begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover
her nakedness.
You must not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father’s wife, born to your father; she is your sister.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine
aunt.
You must not dishonor your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual relations with
her; she is your
aunt.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son’s wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
You must not have sexual relations with your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; you are not to have sexual relations with her.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and
her daughter, neither shalt thou take
her son’s daughter, or
her daughter’s daughter, to uncover
her nakedness; for they are
her near
kinswomen: it is wickedness.
You must not have sexual relations with both a woman and
her daughter. You are not to marry
her son’s daughter or
her daughter’s daughter and have sexual relations with
her. They are close relatives; it is
depraved.
Neither shalt thou take a wife to
her sister, to
vex her, to uncover
her nakedness, beside the other in
her life time.
You must not take your wife’s sister as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is still alive.
Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
You must not approach a woman to have sexual relations with
her during
her menstrual period.
And the land is
defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out
her inhabitants.
Even the land has become
defiled, so I am
punishing it for its sin, and the land will
vomit out its inhabitants.
And
whosoever lieth
carnally with a woman, that is a
bondmaid,
betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given
her; she shall be
scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
If a man lies
carnally with a slave
girl promised to another man but who has not been redeemed or given
her freedom, there must be due punishment. But they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed.
Do not
prostitute thy daughter, to cause
her to be a
whore; lest the land fall to
whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.
If a man marries both a woman and
her mother, it is
depraved. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that there will be no
depravity among you.
And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
If a man marries his sister, whether the daughter of his father or of his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered the nakedness of his sister; he shall bear his iniquity.
And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
If a man lies with a
menstruating woman and has sexual relations with
her, he has exposed the source of
her flow, and she has uncovered the source of
her blood. Both of them must be cut off from among their people.
And for his sister a virgin, that is
nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for
her may he be
defiled.
or his unmarried sister who is near to him, since she has no husband.
They shall not take a wife that is a
whore, or
profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from
her husband: for he is holy unto his God.
And the daughter of any priest, if she
profane herself by playing the
whore, she profaneth
her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
If a priest’s daughter defiles
herself by
prostituting herself, she profanes
her father; she must be burned in the fire.
The woman he marries must be a virgin.
But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or
divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto
her father’s house, as in
her youth, she shall eat of
her father’s meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.
But if a priest’s daughter with no children becomes widowed or
divorced and returns to
her father’s house, she may share
her father’s food as in
her youth. But no outsider may share it.
When a man presents a peace offering to the LORD from the
herd or flock to
fulfill a
vow or as a
freewill offering, it must be without
blemish or defect to be acceptable.
And whether it be cow or
ewe, ye shall not kill it and
her young both in one day.
But you must not slaughter an ox or a sheep on the same day as its young.
And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.
Then the land will yield its fruit, so that you can eat your fill and dwell in safety in the land.
And ye shall
sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until
her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.
While you are
sowing in the eighth year, you will be eating from the previous harvest, until the ninth year’s harvest comes in.
Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
I will give you rains in their season, and the land will yield its produce, and the trees of the field will bear their fruit.
And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
and your strength will be spent in vain. For your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.
Then shall the land enjoy
her sabbaths, as long as it lieth
desolate, and ye be in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy
her sabbaths.
Then the land shall enjoy its Sabbaths all the days it lies
desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.
The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy
her sabbaths, while she lieth
desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they
despised my judgments, and because their soul
abhorred my statutes.
For the land will be abandoned by them, and it will enjoy its Sabbaths by lying
desolate without them. And they will pay the penalty for their iniquity, because they rejected My ordinances and
abhorred My statutes.
And concerning the
tithe of the
herd, or of the flock, even of
whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
Every tenth animal from the
herd or flock that passes under the
shepherd’s rod will be holy to the LORD.
And a man lie with
her carnally, and it be
hid from the eyes of
her husband, and be kept close, and she be
defiled, and there be no witness against
her, neither she be taken with the manner;
by sleeping with another man, and it is concealed from her husband and her impurity is undetected (since there is no witness against her and she was not caught in the act),
And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be
jealous of his wife, and she be
defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be
jealous of his wife, and she be not
defiled:
and if a feeling of jealousy comes over
her husband and he suspects his wife who has
defiled herself—or if a feeling of jealousy comes over him and he suspects
her even though she has not
defiled herself—
Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring
her offering for
her, the tenth part of an
ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put
frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of
memorial, bringing iniquity to
remembrance.
then he is to bring his wife to the priest. He must also bring for
her an offering of a tenth of an
ephah of barley flour. He is not to pour oil over it or put
frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering for jealousy, an offering of
memorial as a reminder of iniquity.
And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:
The priest is to bring the wife forward and have her stand before the LORD.
And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of
memorial in
her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the
curse:
After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let down
her hair and place in
her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to hold the bitter water that brings a
curse.
And the priest shall charge
her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have
lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the
curse:
And he is to put the woman under oath and say to
her, ‘If no other man has
slept with you and you have not gone
astray and become
defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be
immune to this bitter water that brings a
curse.
And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the
curse: and the water that causeth the
curse shall enter into
her, and become bitter.
He is to have the woman drink the bitter water that brings a
curse, and it will enter
her and cause
her bitter suffering.
Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman’s hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar:
The priest shall take from her hand the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the LORD, and bring it to the altar.
And when he hath made
her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be
defiled, and have done
trespass against
her husband, that the water that causeth the
curse shall enter into
her, and become bitter, and
her belly shall swell, and
her thigh shall
rot: and the woman shall be a
curse among
her people.
When he has made
her drink the water, if she has
defiled herself and been unfaithful to
her husband, then the water that brings a
curse will enter
her and cause bitter suffering;
her belly will swell,
her thigh will
shrivel, and she will become
accursed among
her people.
And if the woman be not
defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.
But if the woman has not
defiled herself and is clean, she will be unaffected and able to conceive children.
This is the law of
jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of
her husband, and is
defiled;
This is the law of jealousy when a wife goes
astray and defiles
herself while under
her husband’s authority,
Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be
jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall
execute upon
her all this law.
or when a feeling of jealousy comes over a husband and he suspects his wife. He is to have the woman stand before the LORD, and the priest is to apply to her this entire law.
Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.
The husband will be free from guilt, but the woman shall bear her iniquity.”
