But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the

Yet he
steadied his bow, and his strong arms were tempered by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, in the name of the
Shepherd, the
Rock of Israel,
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the
rock in
Horeb; and thou shalt
smite the
rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Behold, I will stand there before you by the
rock at
Horeb. And when you strike the
rock, water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.

clift of the
rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

cleft of the
rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.

Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
“Take the staff and
assemble the congregation. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the
rock while they watch, and it will pour out its water. You will bring out water from the
rock and provide drink for the congregation and their
livestock.”
And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the
rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we
fetch you water out of this
rock?

rock, and Moses said to them, “
Listen now, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this
rock?”

smote the
rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation

reckoning themselves among the nations.

rock of flint;

thirsty and waterless land. He brought you water from the
rock of flint.
Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that
chew the
cud, or of them that divide the
cloven hoof; as the
camel, and the
hare, and the
coney: for they
chew the
cud, but divide not the
hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
But of those that
chew the
cud or have a completely divided
hoof, you are not to eat the following: the

nourished him with honey from the
rock and oil from the
flinty crag,

Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?
How could one man pursue a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?

unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the
rock, and consumed the flesh and the
unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.
Then the angel of the LORD extended the
tip of the staff that was in his hand and touched the meat and the
unleavened bread. And fire

rock.

He brought streams from the stone and made water flow down like rivers.
Behold, he
smote the
rock, that the waters

O my
dove, that art in the clefts of the
rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.

rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to
shake terribly the earth.
Men will
flee to caves in the
rocks and holes in the ground, away from the terror of the LORD and from the
splendor of His majesty, when He rises to
shake the earth.
To go into the clefts of the
rocks, and into the tops of the
ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to
shake terribly the earth.
They will
flee to caverns in the
rocks and crevices in the cliffs, away from the terror of the LORD and from the
splendor of His majesty, when He rises to
shake the earth.
