My beloved is white and
ruddy, the chiefest among
ten thousand.
My beloved is
dazzling and
ruddy, outstanding among
ten thousand.
Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine
flourish, whether the
tender grape appear, and the pomegranates
bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.
Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vine has
budded, if the
blossom has opened, if the pomegranates are in
bloom— there I will give you my love.
Solomon had a
vineyard at
Baal-
hamon; he let out the
vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver.
Solomon had a
vineyard in
Baal-
hamon. He
leased it to the
tenants. For its fruit, each was to bring a thousand shekels of silver.
My
vineyard, which is mine, is before me: thou, O Solomon, must have a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
But my own
vineyard is mine to give; the thousand shekels are for you, O Solomon, and two hundred are for those who
tend its fruit.
Yea,
ten acres of
vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an
ephah.
For
ten acres of
vineyard will yield but a bath of wine, and a homer of seed only an
ephah of grain.”
But yet in it shall be a
tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a
teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
And though a
tenth remains in the land, it will be burned again. As the
terebinth and oak leave stumps when felled, so the holy seed will be a
stump in the land.”
It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch
tent there; neither shall the
shepherds make their fold there.
She will never be inhabited or settled from generation to generation; no
nomad will pitch his
tent there, no
shepherd will rest his flock there.
And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
in loving devotion a throne will be established in the
tent of David. A judge seeking justice and
hastening righteousness will sit on it in faithfulness.
Look upon
Zion, the city of our
solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet
habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
Look upon
Zion, the city of our appointed feasts. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful pasture, a
tent that does not
wander; its
tent pegs will not be pulled up, nor will any of its cords be broken.
Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green
herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
Therefore their inhabitants, devoid of power, are dismayed and
ashamed. They are like plants in the field,
tender green shoots, grass on the rooftops,
scorched before it is grown.
Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun
dial of
Ahaz,
ten degrees backward. So the sun returned
ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
I will make the sun’s shadow that falls on the
stairway of
Ahaz go back
ten steps.’” So the
sunlight went back the
ten steps it had descended.
Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a
shepherd’s
tent: I have cut off like a
weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night
wilt thou make an end of me.
My dwelling has been
picked up and removed from me like a
shepherd’s
tent. I have rolled up my life like a
weaver; He cuts me off from the
loom; from day until night You make an end of me.
Speak ye
comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is
pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.
“Speak
tenderly to Jerusalem, and
proclaim to her that her forced labor has been completed; her iniquity has been
pardoned. For she has received from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins.”
He shall feed his flock like a
shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his
bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
He
tends His flock like a
shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads the
nursing ewes.
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a
curtain, and spreadeth them out as a
tent to dwell in:
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth; its dwellers are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a
curtain, and spreads them out like a
tent to dwell in.
Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
“Go down and sit in the dust, O Virgin Daughter of Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, O Daughter of
Chaldea! For you will no longer be called
tender or delicate.
For he shall grow up before him as a
tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor
comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
He grew up before Him like a
tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no stately form or majesty to
attract us, no beauty that we should desire Him.
Enlarge the place of thy
tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations:
spare not,
lengthen thy cords, and
strengthen thy stakes;
“
Enlarge the site of your
tent, stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not hold back.
Lengthen your ropes and drive your stakes in deep.
Destruction upon destruction is
cried; for the whole land is
spoiled: suddenly are my
tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
Disaster after
disaster is proclaimed, for the whole land is laid waste. My
tents are destroyed in an instant, my curtains in a moment.
The
shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their
tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.
Shepherds and their flocks will come against her; they will pitch their
tents all around her, each
tending his own portion:
My tabernacle is
spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my
tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
My
tent is destroyed, and all its ropes are
snapped. My sons have departed from me and are no more. I have no one left to pitch my
tent or set up my curtains.
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says about the
shepherds who
tend My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your deeds, declares the LORD.
And I will set up
shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
I will raise up
shepherds over them who will
tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or dismayed, nor will any go missing, declares the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s
tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own
heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.
This is what the LORD says: “I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s
tents and have
compassion on his dwellings. And the city will be rebuilt on her own ruins, and the palace will stand in its rightful place.
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the
tenth year of
Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the
eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
Neither shall ye build house, nor
sow seed, nor plant
vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in
tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
Nor are you ever to build a house or
sow seed or plant a
vineyard. Those things are not for you. Instead, you must live in
tents all your lives, so that you may live a long time in the land where you
wander.’
But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
But we have lived in
tents and have obeyed and done exactly as our
forefather Jonadab commanded us.
For though ye had
smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his
tent, and burn this city with fire.
Indeed, if you were to strike down the entire army of the Chaldeans that is fighting against you, and only wounded men remained in their tents, they would still get up and burn this city down.”
In the ninth year of
Zedekiah king of Judah, in the
tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.

Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even
ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam to
Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in
Mizpah.
In the seventh month,
Ishmael son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, who was a member of the royal family and one of the king’s chief officers, came with
ten men to Gedaliah son of
Ahikam at
Mizpah, and they
ate a meal together there.
Then arose
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the
ten men that were with him, and
smote Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and
slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
Then
Ishmael son of Nethaniah and the
ten men who were with him got up and struck down Gedaliah son of
Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, with the sword, killing the one whom the king of Babylon had appointed to
govern the land.
But
ten men were found among them that said unto
Ishmael,
Slay us not: for we have treasures in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey. So he
forbare, and
slew them not among their brethren.
But
ten of the men among them said to
Ishmael, “Do not kill us, for we have hidden
treasure in the field—wheat, barley, oil, and honey!” So he
refrained from killing them with the others.
And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah.
After ten days the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah,
O vine of Sibmah, I will
weep for thee with the
weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the
spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy
vintage.
I will
weep for you, O vine of Sibmah, more than I
weep for Jazer. Your
tendrils have extended to the sea; they reach even to Jazer. The destroyer has descended on your summer fruit and
grape harvest.
Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.
They will take their
tents and flocks, their
tent curtains and all their goods. They will take their camels for themselves. They will
shout to them: ‘Terror is on every side!’
And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.
So in the ninth year of
Zedekiah’s reign, on the
tenth day of the
tenth month,
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his entire army. They
encamped outside the city and built a siege wall all around it.
Now in the fifth month, in the
tenth day of the month, which was the
nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
On the
tenth day of the fifth month, in the
nineteenth year of
Nebuchadnezzar’s reign over Babylon, Nebuzaradan captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, entered Jerusalem.
But Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for
husbandmen.
But Nebuzaradan captain of the guard left behind some of the poorest of the land to tend the vineyards and fields.
He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an
adversary, and
slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of
Zion: he poured out his
fury like fire.
He has bent His bow like an enemy; His right hand is positioned. Like a
foe He has killed all who were pleasing to the eye; He has poured out His wrath like fire on the
tent of the Daughter of
Zion.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high
cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a
tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take a shoot from the lofty top of the
cedar, and I will set it out. I will
pluck a
tender sprig from its
topmost shoots, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the
tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to
enquire of the LORD, and sat before me.
In the seventh year, on the tenth day of the fifth month, some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and they sat down before me.
Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
In the ninth year, on the tenth day of the tenth month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.
therefore I will indeed give you as a possession to the people of the East. They will set up their camps and pitch their tents among you. They will eat your fruit and drink your milk.
In the
tenth year, in the
tenth month, in the
twelfth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
In the
tenth year, on the
twelfth day of the
tenth month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And it came to pass in the
twelfth year of our captivity, in the
tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is
smitten.
In the
twelfth year of our exile, on the fifth day of the
tenth month, a
fugitive from Jerusalem came to me and reported, “The city has been taken!”
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the
shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the
shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I am against the
shepherds, and I will demand from them My flock and remove them from
tending the flock, so that they can no longer feed themselves. For I will deliver My flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.’
I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.
I will tend My flock and make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD.
And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will
attach tendons to you and make flesh grow upon you and cover you with skin. I will put breath within you so that you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
And when I
beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
As I looked on, tendons appeared on them, flesh grew, and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.
In the five and
twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the
tenth day of the month, in the
fourteenth year after that the city was
smitten, in the
selfsame day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and brought me thither.
In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the
tenth day of the month—in the
fourteenth year after Jerusalem had been struck down—on that very day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and He took me there.
And he measured the breadth of the entry of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.
And he measured the width of the
gateway entrance to be
ten cubits, and its length was thirteen cubits.
The length of the
porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; and he brought me by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.
The
portico was twenty cubits wide and twelve cubits deep, and
ten steps led up to it. There were columns by the side pillars, one on each side.
And the breadth of the door was ten cubits; and the sides of the door were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits.
The width of the entrance was ten cubits, and the sides of the entrance were five cubits on each side. He also measured the length of the outer sanctuary to be forty cubits, and the width to be twenty cubits.
And before the chambers was a walk of
ten cubits breadth inward, a way of one
cubit; and their doors toward the north.
In front of the chambers was an inner walkway ten cubits wide and a hundred cubits long. Their doors were on the north.
Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, ye shall offer an
oblation unto the LORD, an holy portion of the land: the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the breadth shall be
ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.
“When you divide the land by lot as an inheritance, you are to set aside a portion for the LORD, a holy portion of the land 25,000 cubits long and 20,000 cubits wide. This entire tract of land will be holy.
And of this measure shalt thou measure the length of five and twenty thousand, and the breadth of ten thousand: and in it shall be the sanctuary and the most holy place.
From this holy portion, you are to measure off a length of 25,000 cubits and a width of 10,000 cubits, and in it will be the sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
And the five and twenty thousand of length, and the ten thousand of breadth, shall also the Levites, the ministers of the house, have for themselves, for a possession for twenty chambers.
An adjacent area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide shall belong to the Levites who minister in the temple; it will be their possession for towns in which to live.
The
ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, that the bath may contain the
tenth part of an homer, and the
ephah the
tenth part of an homer: the measure thereof shall be after the homer.
The
ephah and the bath shall be the same quantity so that the bath will contain a
tenth of a homer, and the
ephah a
tenth of a homer; the homer will be the standard measure for both.
Concerning the
ordinance of oil, the bath of oil, ye shall offer the
tenth part of a bath out of the cor, which is an homer of
ten baths; for
ten baths are an homer:
The prescribed portion of oil, measured by the bath, is a tenth of a bath from each cor (a cor consists of ten baths or one homer, since ten baths are equivalent to a homer).
The
oblation that ye shall offer unto the LORD shall be of five and twenty thousand in length, and of
ten thousand in breadth.
The special portion you set apart to the LORD shall be 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide.
And for them, even for the priests, shall be this holy
oblation; toward the north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward the west
ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east
ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south five and twenty thousand in length: and the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in the midst thereof.
This will be the holy portion for the priests. It will be 25,000 cubits long on the north side, 10,000 cubits wide on the west side, 10,000 cubits wide on the east side, and 25,000 cubits long on the south side. In the center will be the sanctuary of the LORD.
And over against the border of the priests the Levites shall have five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth: all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.
Bordering the territory of the priests, the Levites shall have an area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide. The whole length will be 25,000 cubits, and the width 10,000 cubits.
And the residue in length over against the
oblation of the holy portion shall be
ten thousand eastward, and
ten thousand westward: and it shall be over against the
oblation of the holy portion; and the increase thereof shall be for food unto them that serve the city.
The remainder of the length bordering the holy portion and running adjacent to it will be 10,000 cubits on the east side and 10,000 cubits on the west side. Its produce will supply food for the workers of the city.
Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
Now God had granted Daniel favor and
compassion from the chief official,
Prove thy servants, I
beseech thee,
ten days; and let them give us
pulse to eat, and water to drink.
“Please test your servants for ten days. Let us be given only vegetables to eat and water to drink.
So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.
So he consented to this and tested them for ten days.
And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.
And at the end of
ten days, they looked healthier and better
nourished than all the young men who were eating the king’s food.
And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.
In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom.
Nevertheless leave the
stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the
tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the
dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
But leave the
stump with its roots in the ground, and a band of iron and bronze around it, in the
tender grass of the field. Let him be
drenched with the
dew of heaven and
graze with the beasts on the grass of the earth.
And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying,
Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the
stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the
tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the
dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
And you, O king, saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying: ‘Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the
stump with its roots in the ground, and a band of iron and bronze around it, in the
tender grass of the field. Let him be
drenched with the
dew of heaven, and
graze with the beasts of the field till seven times pass him by.’
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast,
dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it
devoured and
brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was
diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had
ten horns.
After this, as I watched in my vision in the night, suddenly a fourth beast appeared, and it was
terrifying—
dreadful and extremely strong—with large iron teeth. It
devoured and
crushed; then it
trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the beasts before it, and it had
ten horns.
A
fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and
ten thousand times
ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
A river of fire was flowing, coming out from His presence. Thousands upon thousands attended Him, and myriads upon myriads stood before Him. The court was
convened, and the books were opened.
And of the
ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more
stout than his fellows.
I also wanted to know about the
ten horns on its head and the other horn that came up, before which three of them fell—the horn whose appearance was more imposing than the others, with eyes and with a mouth that spoke words of
arrogance.
And the
ten horns out of this kingdom are
ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be
diverse from the first, and he shall
subdue three kings.
And the
ten horns are
ten kings who will rise from this kingdom. After them another king, different from the earlier ones, will rise and
subdue three kings.
And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.
When the army is carried off, the king of the South will be proud in heart and will cast down tens of thousands, but he will not triumph.
And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
He will pitch his royal tents between the sea and the beautiful holy mountain, but he will meet his end with no one to help him.
Therefore, behold, I will
allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak
comfortably unto her.
“Therefore, behold, I will
allure her and lead her to the wilderness, and speak to her
tenderly.
For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up,
Memphis shall
bury them: the pleasant places for their silver,
nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
For even if they
flee destruction, Egypt will gather them and
Memphis will
bury them. Their precious silver will be taken over by thistles, and thorns will overrun their
tents.
And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
But I am the LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt. I will again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed feast.
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
Jacob fled to the land of
Aram and Israel worked for a wife— for a wife he
tended sheep.
For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
This is what the Lord GOD says: “The city that marches out a thousand strong will only see a hundred return, and the one that marches out a hundred strong will have but ten left in the house of Israel.”
And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
And if there are ten men left in one house, they too will die.
Then answered
Amos, and said to
Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an
herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:
“I was not a prophet,”
Amos replied, “nor was I the son of a prophet; rather, I was a
herdsman and a
tender of
sycamore-fig trees.
In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
“In that day I will restore the fallen tent of David. I will repair its gaps, restore its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old,
Then said the LORD, Thou hast had
pity on the
gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:
But the LORD said, “You cared about the plant, which you neither
tended nor made grow. It
sprang up in a night and perished in a night.
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with
ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my
firstborn for my
transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
Would the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with
ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I present my
firstborn for my
transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
I saw the
tents of Cushan in distress; the curtains of
Midian were
trembling.
Since those days were, when one came to an
heap of twenty measures, there were but
ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
from that time, when one came expecting a
heap of twenty ephahs of grain, there were but
ten. When one came to the winepress to draw out fifty baths, there were but twenty.
Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long
wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had
indignation these
threescore and
ten years?
Then the angel of the LORD said, “How long, O LORD of Hosts, will You
withhold mercy from Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, with which You have been
angry these seventy years?”
And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
“What do you see?” asked the angel. “I see a flying
scroll,” I replied, “twenty cubits long and
ten cubits wide.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the
tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and
gladness, and
cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: The fasts of the fourth, the fifth, the seventh, and the
tenth months will become times of joy and
gladness,
cheerful feasts for the house of Judah. Therefore you are to love both truth and peace.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that
ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the
skirt of him that is a
Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “In those days
ten men from the nations of every tongue will
tightly grasp the
robe of a
Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”
Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the
nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every
oppressor together.
The cornerstone will come from Judah, the
tent peg from him, as well as the battle bow and every ruler together.
The LORD also shall save the
tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not
magnify themselves against Judah.
The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not be greater than that of Judah.
And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the
mule, of the
camel, and of the
ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these
tents, as this plague.
And a similar plague will strike the horses and mules, camels and
donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.
The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.
As for the man who does this, may the LORD cut off from the
tents of Jacob
everyone who is
awake and aware—even if he brings an offering to the LORD of Hosts.
And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was
befallen to the possessed of the devils.
Those
tending the pigs ran off into the town and reported all this, including the account of the
demon-possessed men.
And when he had begun to
reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him
ten thousand talents.
As he began the settlements, a
debtor was brought to him owing
ten thousand talents.
And when the
ten heard it, they were moved with
indignation against the two brethren.
When the
ten heard about this, they were
indignant with the two brothers.
Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a
vineyard, and
hedged it round about, and
digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to
husbandmen, and went into a far country:
Listen to another parable: There was a
landowner who planted a
vineyard. He put a wall around it,
dug a winepress in it, and built a tower. Then he rented it out to some
tenants and went away on a journey.
