And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain,
under the springs of
Pisgah.
including all the Arabah on the east side of the Jordan and as far as the Sea of the Arabah, below the slopes of
Pisgah.
And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.
He will hand their kings over to you, and you will
wipe out their names from
under heaven. No one will be able to stand against you; you will
annihilate them.
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with
manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man
doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD
doth man live.
He humbled you, and in your hunger He gave you
manna to eat, which neither you nor your fathers had known, so that you might
understand that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a
consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.
But
understand that
today the LORD your God goes across
ahead of you as a
consuming fire; He will destroy them and
subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and
annihilate them swiftly, as the LORD has promised you.
Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.
Understand, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.
Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and
blot out their name from
under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.
Leave Me alone, so that I may destroy them and
blot out their name from
under heaven. Then I will make you into a nation mightier and greater than they are.”
Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
Destroy completely all the places where the nations you are dispossessing have served their gods—
atop the high mountains, on the hills, and
under every green tree.
His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise
bury him that day; (for he that is
hanged is
accursed of God;) that thy land be not
defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
you must not leave the body on the tree overnight, but you must be sure to
bury him that day, because
anyone who is hung on a tree is
under God’s
curse. You must not
defile the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.
Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt
blot out the
remembrance of Amalek from
under heaven; thou shalt not
forget it.
When the LORD your God gives you rest from the enemies around you in the land that He is giving you to possess as an inheritance, you are to
blot out the memory of Amalek from
under heaven. Do not
forget!
And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
The sky over your head will be bronze, and the earth beneath you iron.
The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
The LORD will bring a nation from
afar, from the ends of the earth, to
swoop down upon you like an eagle—a nation whose language you will not
understand,
Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
Yet to this day the LORD has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.
The LORD will not
spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall
blot out his name from
under heaven.
The LORD will never be willing to
forgive him. Instead, His anger and jealousy will burn against that man, and every
curse written in this book will fall upon him. The LORD will
blot out his name from
under heaven
They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have
provoked me to anger with their
vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will
provoke them to anger with a
foolish nation.
They have
provoked My jealousy by that which is not God; they have
enraged Me with their worthless idols. So I will make them
jealous by those who are not a people; I will make them
angry by a nation without
understanding.
For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.
Israel is a nation devoid of counsel, with no understanding among them.
O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
If only they were wise, they would
understand it; they would
comprehend their fate.
The eternal God is thy refuge, and
underneath are the
everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
The eternal God is your dwelling place, and
underneath are the
everlasting arms. He drives out the enemy before you, giving the command, ‘Destroy him!’
When I saw among the spoils a goodly
Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a
wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I
coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are
hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver
under it.
When I saw among the spoils a beautiful
cloak from
Shinar, two hundred shekels of silver, and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels, I
coveted them and took them. They are hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver
underneath.”
So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was
hid in his tent, and the silver
under it.
So Joshua sent messengers who ran to the tent, and there it all was, hidden in his tent, with the silver
underneath.
Now therefore ye are
cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being
bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.
Now therefore you are
under a
curse and will perpetually serve as woodcutters and water carriers for the house of my God.”
And to the
Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite
under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to
Seir, even unto
Baal-
gad in the valley of
Lebanon under mount
Hermon: and all their kings he took, and
smote them, and
slew them.
from Mount Halak, which rises toward
Seir, as far as
Baal-
gad in the Valley of
Lebanon at the foot of Mount
Hermon. He captured all their kings and struck them down, putting them to death.
And from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea on the east, the way to Beth-jeshimoth; and from the south,
under Ashdoth-
pisgah:
as well as the Arabah east of the Sea of Chinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea), eastward through Beth-jeshimoth, and southward below the slopes of
Pisgah.
But they did not drive out the
Canaanites who lived in
Gezer. So the
Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, but they are forced laborers.
And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.
Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was near the sanctuary of the LORD.
And Adoni-bezek said,
Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat
under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.
Then Adoni-bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and
big toes cut off have gathered the scraps
under my table. As I have done to them, so God has repaid me.” And they brought him to Jerusalem, where he died.
And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it
repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that
oppressed them and
vexed them.
Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for the Israelites, He was with that judge and saved them from the hands of their enemies while the judge was still alive; for the LORD was moved to
pity by their
groaning under those who
oppressed them and
afflicted them.
So Moab was subdued that day
under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest
fourscore years.
So Moab was subdued under the hand of Israel that day, and the land had rest for eighty years.
And she dwelt
under the palm tree of
Deborah between
Ramah and
Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
And she would sit
under the Palm of
Deborah between
Ramah and
Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, where the Israelites would go up to her for judgment.
And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat
under an oak which was in Ophrah, that
pertained unto
Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son
Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
Then the angel of the LORD came and sat down
under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to
Joash the Abiezrite, where his son
Gideon was
threshing wheat in a winepress to hide it from the Midianites.
And
Gideon went in, and made ready a
kid, and
unleavened cakes of an
ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a
basket, and he put the
broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him
under the oak, and presented it.
So
Gideon went in and prepared a young goat and
unleavened bread and an
ephah of flour. He placed the meat in a
basket and the
broth in a pot and brought them out to present to Him
under the oak.
And would to God this people were
under my hand! then would I remove
Abimelech. And he said to
Abimelech, Increase thine army, and come out.
If only this people were
under my authority, I would remove
Abimelech; I would say to him, ‘Muster your army and come out!’”
The LORD
recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel,
under whose wings thou art come to trust.
May the LORD repay your work, and may you receive a rich reward from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have taken refuge.”
And there came a man of God unto
Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh’s house?
Then a man of God came to
Eli and told him, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Did I not clearly
reveal Myself to your father’s house when they were in Egypt
under Pharaoh’s house?
And when the Philistines heard the noise of the
shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great
shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they
understood that the ark of the LORD was come into the camp.
On hearing the noise of the
shout, the Philistines asked, “What is this loud
shouting in the camp of the Hebrews?” And when they realized that the ark of the LORD had entered the camp,
And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a
trespass offering: then ye shall be
healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
They replied, “If you return the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it away empty, but by all means return it to Him with a guilt offering. Then you will be
healed, and you will
understand why His hand has not been lifted from you.”
And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and
smote them, until they came
under Beth-
car.
Then the men of Israel charged out of
Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, striking them down all the way to an area below Beth-
car.
And Saul
tarried in the
uttermost part of Gibeah
under a
pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;
Meanwhile, Saul was staying
under the
pomegranate tree in Migron on the outskirts of Gibeah. And the troops who were with him numbered about six hundred men,
And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had
adjured the people, saying,
Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be
avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food.
Now the men of Israel were in distress that day, for Saul had placed the troops
under an oath, saying, “
Cursed is the man who eats any food before evening, before I have taken
vengeance on my enemies.” So none of the troops tasted any food.
Now therefore what is
under thine hand? give me five
loaves of bread in mine hand, or what there is present.
Now then, what do you have on hand? Give me five
loaves of bread, or whatever can be found.”
And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread
under mine hand, but there is
hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.
“There is no common bread on hand,” the priest replied, “but there is some consecrated bread—provided that the young men have kept themselves from women.”
And David said unto
Ahimelech, And is there not here
under thine hand
spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king’s business required
haste.
Then David asked
Ahimelech, “Is there not a
spear or sword on hand here? For I have brought neither my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king’s business was
urgent.”
When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him, (now Saul abode in Gibeah
under a tree in
Ramah, having his
spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him;)
Soon Saul learned that David and his men had been discovered. At that time Saul was in Gibeah, sitting
under the
tamarisk tree on the hill at Gibeah, with his
spear in hand and all his servants standing around him.
Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife
Abigail: and she was a woman of good
understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was
churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of
Caleb.
His name was Nabal, and his wife’s name was
Abigail. She was an intelligent and beautiful woman, but her husband, a Calebite, was harsh and evil in his dealings.
David therefore sent out
spies, and
understood that Saul was come in very deed.
And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. And Achish said unto David, Know thou
assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to battle, thou and thy men.
Now in those days the Philistines gathered their forces for warfare against Israel. So Achish said to David, “You must understand that you and your men are to go out to battle with me.”
And they took their bones, and buried them
under a tree at
Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
Then they took their bones and buried them
under the
tamarisk tree in
Jabesh, and they fasted seven days.
Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore
Abner with the hinder end of the
spear smote him
under the fifth rib, that the
spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where
Asahel fell down and died stood still.
But
Asahel refused to turn away; so
Abner thrust the
butt of his
spear into his stomach, and it came out his back, and he fell dead on the spot. And every man
paused when he came to the place where
Asahel had fallen and died.
And when
Abner was returned to
Hebron,
Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and
smote him there
under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of
Asahel his brother.
For all the people and all Israel
understood that day that it was not of the king to
slay Abner the son of
Ner.
So on that day all the troops and all Israel were
convinced that the king had no part in the murder of
Abner son of
Ner.
And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have
fetched wheat; and they
smote him
under the fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.
They entered the interior of the house as if to get some wheat, and they
stabbed him in the stomach. Then Rechab and his brother Baanah
slipped away.
And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of
Abishai his brother, that he might put them in
array against the children of
Ammon.
And he placed the rest of the forces
under the command of his brother
Abishai, who
arrayed them against the
Ammonites.
And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them
under saws, and
under harrows of iron, and
under axes of iron, and made them pass through the
brickkiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of
Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
David brought out the people who were there and put them to work with saws, iron picks, and axes, and he made them work at the brick kilns. He did the same to all the
Ammonite cities. Then David and all his troops returned to Jerusalem.
And David sent forth a third part of the people
under the hand of
Joab, and a third part
under the hand of
Abishai the son of Zeruiah,
Joab’s brother, and a third part
under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also.
He sent out the troops, a third
under Joab, a third
under Joab’s brother
Abishai son of Zeruiah, and a third
under Ittai the Gittite. And the king said to the troops, “I will surely march out with you as well.”
And
Absalom met the servants of David. And
Absalom rode upon a
mule, and the
mule went
under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the
mule that was
under him went away.
Now
Absalom was riding on his
mule when he met the servants of David, and as the
mule went
under the thick branches of a large oak,
Absalom’s head was caught fast in the tree. The
mule under him kept going, so that he was suspended in midair.
And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in
widowhood.
When David returned to his palace in Jerusalem, he took the ten concubines he had left to care for the palace, and he placed them in a house
under guard. He provided for them, but he no longer
slept with them. They were confined until the day of their death, living as widows.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
He parted the heavens and came down with dark clouds beneath His feet.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.
You
broaden the path beneath me so that my ankles do not give way.
And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise:
yea, they are fallen
under my feet.
I
devoured and
crushed them so they could not rise; they have fallen
under my feet.
For thou hast
girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued
under me.
You have armed me with strength for battle; You have subdued my foes beneath me.
It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,
the God who avenges me and brings down nations beneath me,
Give therefore thy servant an
understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may
discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
Therefore give Your servant an
understanding heart to judge Your people and to
discern between good and evil. For who is able to
govern this great people of Yours?”
And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for
thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for
thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for
thyself understanding to
discern judgment;
So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this instead of requesting long life or wealth for
yourself or death for your enemies—but you have asked for
discernment to
administer justice—
Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
behold, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and
discerning heart, so that there has never been nor will ever be another like you.
And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man
under his vine and
under his fig tree, from
Dan even to Beer-
sheba, all the days of Solomon.
Throughout the days of Solomon, Judah and Israel dwelt securely from
Dan to
Beersheba, each man
under his own vine and his own fig tree.
And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
And God gave Solomon wisdom, exceedingly deep insight, and
understanding beyond measure, like the sand on the
seashore.
Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
“As you are well aware, due to the wars
waged on all sides against my father David, he could not build a house for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD had put his enemies
under his feet.
He was a widow’s son of the tribe of
Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and
understanding, and
cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.
He was the son of a widow from the tribe of
Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a
craftsman in bronze. Huram had great skill,
understanding, and knowledge for every kind of bronze work. So he came to King Solomon and carried out all his work.
And
under the
brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a
cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.
Below the
rim, ornamental buds
encircled it, ten per
cubit all the way around the Sea, cast in two rows as a part of the Sea.
And every base had four
brasen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had
undersetters:
under the
laver were
undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.
Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles and a basin resting on four supports, with
wreaths at each side.
And
under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a
cubit and a half a
cubit.
There were four wheels
under the panels, and the axles of the wheels were attached to the stand; each wheel was a
cubit and a half in diameter.
And there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base: and the undersetters were of the very base itself.
Each stand had four handles, one for each corner, projecting from the stand.
And
Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So
Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:
Additionally, Huram made the pots, shovels, and
sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished all the work that he had
undertaken for King Solomon in the house of the LORD:
And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;
And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the
oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even
under the wings of the cherubims.
Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, beneath the wings of the
cherubim.
And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.
and went after the man of God. He found him sitting under an oak tree and asked, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” “I am,” he replied.
For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.
They also built for themselves high places, sacred pillars, and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree.
Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one
bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire
under: and I will dress the other
bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire
under:
Get two bulls for us. Let the prophets of
Baal choose one bull for themselves, cut it into pieces, and place it on the wood but not light the fire. And I will prepare the other bull and place it on the wood but not light the fire.
And
Elijah said unto the prophets of
Baal, Choose you one
bullock for
yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire
under.
Then
Elijah said to the prophets of
Baal, “Since you are so numerous, choose for
yourselves one bull and prepare it first. Then call on the name of your god, but do not light the fire.”
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down
under a
juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
while he himself traveled on a day’s journey into the wilderness. He sat down
under a
broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”
And as he lay and
slept under a
juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
Then he lay down
under the
broom tree and fell
asleep. Suddenly an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.”
And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had
sackcloth within upon his flesh.
When the king heard the words of the woman, he
tore his clothes. And as he passed by on the wall, the people saw the
sackcloth under his clothes next to his skin.
In his days
Edom revolted from
under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.
In the days of Jehoram,
Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.
Yet
Edom revolted from
under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then
Libnah revolted at the same time.
So to this day
Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise,
Libnah rebelled at the same time.
And
Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him,
Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to
Ramoth-
gilead:
Now
Elisha the prophet summoned one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, “
Tuck your
cloak under your belt, take this
flask of oil, and go to
Ramoth-
gilead.
Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it
under him on the top of the stairs, and
blew with
trumpets, saying,
Jehu is king.
Quickly, each man took his garment and put it
under Jehu on the bare steps. Then they
blew the ram’s horn and proclaimed, “
Jehu is king!”
And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was
sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he
trode her
under foot.
“Throw her down!”
yelled Jehu. So they threw her down, and her blood splattered on the wall and on the horses as they
trampled her
underfoot.
And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and
fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and shewed them the king’s son.
Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada sent for the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, and the guards, and had them brought into the house of the LORD. There he made a covenant with them and put them under oath. He showed them the king’s son
(And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from
under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as
beforetime.
So the LORD gave Israel a deliverer, and they escaped the power of the Arameans. Then the people of Israel lived in their own homes as they had before.
And the LORD said not that he would
blot out the name of Israel from
under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of
Jeroboam the son of
Joash.
and since the LORD had said that He would not
blot out the name of Israel from
under heaven, He saved them by the hand of
Jeroboam son of Jehoash.
And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
And he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.
And king
Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the
laver from off them; and took down the sea from off the
brasen oxen that were
under it, and put it upon a
pavement of stones.
King
Ahaz also cut off the frames of the movable stands and removed the bronze basin from each of them. He took down the Sea from the bronze oxen that were
under it and put it on a stone base.
For so it was, that the children of Israel had
sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from
under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
All this happened because the people of Israel had
sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt from
under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They had worshiped other gods
