weary: thou hast made

thirsty land, where no water is;

weary land without water.
You sent abundant rain, O God; You refreshed Your
weary inheritance.

The words of
Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,
These are the words of
Agur son of Jakeh—the burden that this man declared to Ithiel: “I am
weary, O God, and worn out.
All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
All things are
wearisome, more than one can describe; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear content with hearing.
The labour of the
foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.
The
toil of a
fool wearies him, for he does not know the way to the city.
And further, by these, my son, be
admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a
weariness of the flesh.
And by these, my son, be further
warned: There is no end to the making of many books, and much study
wearies the body.
Go forth, O ye daughters of
Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown
wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his
espousals, and in the day of the
gladness of his heart.

Zion, and
gaze at King Solomon,
wearing the crown his mother bestowed on the day of his
wedding— the day of his heart’s
rejoicing.

wear our own
apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own bread and provide our own clothes. Just let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!”

patience of my God as well?

gird themselves with
sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall
howl,

wear sackcloth; on the rooftops and in the public squares they all
wail, falling down
weeping.

repose.” But they would not
listen.
And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a
covert from the
tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a
weary land.
Each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in a dry land, like the shadow of a great rock in an
arid land.
And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the

wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the
everlasting God, the LORD, the
Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is
weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the
everlasting God, the
Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow
tired or
weary; His understanding is beyond searching out.
Even the youths shall
faint and be
weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be
weary; and they shall walk, and not
faint.
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow
weary, they will walk and not
faint.
But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been
weary of me, O Israel.
But you have not called on Me, O Jacob, because you have grown
weary of Me, O Israel.
Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor
wearied thee with incense.
You have not brought Me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored Me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with offerings, nor
wearied you with
frankincense.
Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast
wearied me with thine
iniquities.
You have not bought Me sweet cane with your silver, nor satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened Me with your sins; you have
wearied Me with your
iniquities.
Bel boweth down,
Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the
weary beast.
Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy
sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
So take your stand with your spells and with your many
sorceries, with which you have
wearied yourself from your youth. Perhaps you will succeed; perhaps you will
inspire terror!
Thou art
wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
You are
wearied by your many counselors; let them come forward now and save you— your astrologers who observe the stars, who monthly
predict your fate.
Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely
clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a
bride doeth.
Lift up your eyes and look around. They all gather together; they come to you. As surely as I live,” declares the LORD, “you will
wear them all as
jewelry and put them on like a
bride.
The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is
weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of
discipleship, to
sustain the
weary with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to
listen as a disciple.
Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall
condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the
moth shall eat them up.
Surely the Lord GOD helps Me. Who is there to
condemn Me? See, they will all
wear out like a garment; the
moths will
devour them.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall
vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth below; for the heavens will
vanish like smoke, the earth will
wear out like a garment, and its people will die like gnats. But My salvation will last
forever, and My righteousness will never fail.
Thou art
wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou
wast not
grieved.
You are
wearied by your many journeys, but you did not say, “There is no hope!” You found
renewal of your strength; therefore you did not grow weak.
I will greatly
rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the
robe of righteousness, as a
bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a
bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
I will
rejoice greatly in the LORD, my soul will
exult in my God; for He has clothed me with garments of salvation and
wrapped me in a
robe of righteousness, as a
bridegroom wears a priestly
headdress, as a
bride adorns herself with her jewels.
A wild
ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not
weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
a wild
donkey at home in the wilderness,
sniffing the wind in the heat of her desire. Who can restrain her passion? All who seek her need not
weary themselves; in mating season they will find her.
