beasts, and
cotes for flocks.

livestock, and pens for the flocks.
And
whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with
beasts, beside the
freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.
And let every
survivor, wherever he lives, be assisted by the men of that region with silver, gold, goods, and
livestock, along with a
freewill offering for the house of God in Jerusalem.’”
And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.
And all their neighbors supported them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and
livestock, and with valuables, in addition to all their
freewill offerings.
And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any
beast with me, save the
beast that I
rode upon.
I set out at night with a few men. I did not tell
anyone what my God had laid on my heart to do for Jerusalem. The only animal with me was the one on which I was riding.
Then I went on to the gate of the fountain, and to the king’s
pool: but there was no place for the
beast that was under me to pass.
Then I went on to the Fountain Gate and the King’s
Pool, but there was no room for the animal under me to get through;
At destruction and famine thou shalt
laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the
beasts of the earth.
You will
laugh at destruction and famine, and need not fear the
beasts of the earth.
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field, and the wild animals will be at peace with you.
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
But ask the animals, and they will
instruct you; ask the birds of the air, and they will tell you.
Wherefore are we counted as
beasts, and reputed
vile in your sight?
Why are we regarded as cattle, as
stupid in your sight?

trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.

endure; he is like the
beasts that perish.

My soul is among the lions; I lie down with
ravenous beasts— with men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
Rebuke the company of
spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the
calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver:
scatter thou the people that delight in war.
Rebuke the
beast in the reeds, the
herd of bulls among the
calves of the nations, until it submits, bringing bars of silver.
Scatter the nations who delight in war.
So
foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a
beast before thee.
I was senseless and ignorant; I was a
brute beast before You.

turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked:
forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

boar from the forest ravages it, and the creatures of the field feed upon it.

beasts of the forest do
creep forth.

beasts of the forest
prowl.

creeping innumerable, both small and great
beasts.
Here is the sea, vast and wide,
teeming with creatures beyond number, living things both great and small.

firstborn of Egypt, of both man and
beast.

beast: but the tender
mercies of the wicked are cruel.

mercies of the wicked are only cruelty.

a lion, mighty among beasts, refusing to retreat before anything;
I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
I said to myself, “As for the sons of men, God tests them so that they may see for themselves that they are but beasts.”
For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth
beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other;
yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a
beast: for all is vanity.
For the fates of both men and
beasts are the same: As one dies, so dies the other—they all have the same breath. Man has no advantage over the animals, since everything is
futile.
Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the
beast that goeth
downward to the earth?
Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and the spirit of the animal descends into the earth?

But wild
beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of
doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
But desert creatures will lie down there, and
howling creatures will fill her houses. Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will
leap about.
And the wild
beasts of the islands shall cry in their
desolate houses, and
dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

howl in her fortresses and jackals in her
luxurious palaces. Babylon’s time is at hand, and her days will not be prolonged.
They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

The burden of the
beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and
anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the
viper and
fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young
asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
This is the burden against the
beasts of the Negev: Through a land of
hardship and distress, of
lioness and lion, of
viper and flying serpent, they carry their wealth on the backs of
donkeys and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people of no profit to them.

beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild
beasts of the island, and the
satyr shall cry to his fellow; the
screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

hyenas, and one wild goat will call to another. There the night creature will settle and find her place of
repose.

ravenous beast shall go up
thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

vicious beast will go up on it. Such will not be found there, but the redeemed will walk upon it.

The
beast of the field shall honour me, the
dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
The beasts of the field will honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I provide water in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people.
Bel boweth down,
Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the
beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the
weary beast.
All ye
beasts of the field, come to
devour,
yea, all ye
beasts in the forest.
Come, all you
beasts of the field; eat
greedily, all you
beasts of the forest.
As a
beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so
didst thou lead thy people, to make
thyself a glorious name.
Like cattle going down to the valley, the Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. You led Your people this way to make for
Yourself a glorious name.
And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in
chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift
beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
And they will bring all your brothers from all the nations as a gift to the LORD on horses and
chariots and wagons, on mules and camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the LORD, “just as the Israelites bring an offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD.”
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my
fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon
beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be
quenched.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, My anger and My
fury will be poured out on this place, on man and
beast, on the trees of the field and the produce of the land, and it will burn and not be
extinguished.
And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the
beasts of the earth; and none shall
fray them away.
The corpses of this people will become food for the birds of the air and the
beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to
scare them away.
For the mountains will I take up a
weeping and
wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a
lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the
beast are fled; they are gone.
I will take up a
weeping and
wailing for the mountains, a
dirge over the wilderness pasture, for they have been
scorched so no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. Both the birds of the air and the
beasts have fled; they have gone away.
How long shall the land
mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the
beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
How long will the land
mourn and the grass of every field be
withered? Because of the evil of its residents, the animals and birds have been swept away, for the people have said, “He cannot see what our end will be.”
Is not My inheritance to Me like a
speckled bird of prey with other birds of prey circling against her? Go, gather all the
beasts of the field; bring them to
devour her.
And I will
appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to
slay, and the dogs to
tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the
beasts of the earth, to
devour and destroy.
I will
appoint over them four kinds of destroyers, declares the LORD: the sword to kill, the dogs to
drag away, and the birds of the air and
beasts of the earth to
devour and destroy.
They shall die of
grievous deaths; they shall not be
lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the
beasts of the earth.
“They will die from deadly diseases. They will not be
mourned or buried, but will lie like dung on the ground. They will be finished off by sword and famine, and their corpses will become food for the birds of the air and
beasts of the earth.”
And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcases will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
And in this place I will ruin the plans of Judah and Jerusalem. I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies, by the hands of those who seek their lives, and I will give their
carcasses as food to the birds of the air and the
beasts of the earth.
And I will
smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and
beast: they shall die of a great
pestilence.
I will strike down the residents of this city, both man and beast. They will die in a terrible plague.’
I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
By My great power and outstretched arm, I made the earth and the men and beasts on the face of it, and I give it to whom I please.
And now have I given all these lands into the hand of
Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the
beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
So now I have placed all these lands under the authority of My servant
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. I have even made the
beasts of the field subject to him.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the
beasts of the field also.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations to make them serve
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I have even given him control of the
beasts of the field.’”
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will
sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of
beast.
“The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will
sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and of
beast.
And fields shall be bought in this land,
whereof ye say, It is
desolate without man or
beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
And fields will be bought in this land about which you are saying, ‘It is a
desolation, without man or
beast; it has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans.’
Thus saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be
desolate without man and without
beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are
desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without
beast,
This is what the LORD says: In this place you say is a wasteland without man or beast, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted—inhabited by neither man nor beast—there will be heard again
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is
desolate without man and without
beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an
habitation of
shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: In this
desolate place, without man or
beast, and in all its cities, there will once more be pastures for
shepherds to rest their flocks.
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.
I will deliver into the hands of their enemies who seek their lives. Their corpses will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth.
And thou shalt say to
Jehoiakim the king of Judah, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and
beast?
You are to
proclaim concerning
Jehoiakim king of Judah that this is what the LORD says: You have burned the
scroll and said, ‘Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon would surely come and destroy this land and deprive it of man and
beast?’
For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land
desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and
beast.
For a nation from the north will come against her; it will make her land a
desolation. No one will live in it; both man and
beast will
flee.”
Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.
So the desert creatures and
hyenas will live there and ostriches will dwell there. It will never again be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation.
Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou hast spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor
beast, but that it shall be
desolate for ever.
and say, ‘O LORD, You have promised to cut off this place so that no one will remain—neither man nor
beast. Indeed, it will be
desolate forever.’
Then said I,
Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been
polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is
torn in pieces; neither came there
abominable flesh into my mouth.
“
Ah, Lord GOD,” I said, “I have never
defiled myself. From my youth until now I have not eaten anything found dead or
mauled by wild
beasts. No unclean meat has ever entered my mouth.”
So will I send upon you famine and evil
beasts, and they shall
bereave thee; and
pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.
I will send famine and wild
beasts against you, and they will leave you childless. Plague and
bloodshed will
sweep through you, and I will bring a sword against you. I, the LORD, have spoken.”
So I went in and saw; and behold every form of
creeping things, and
abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
So I went in and looked, and engraved all around the wall was every kind of
crawling creature and
detestable beast, along with all the idols of the house of Israel.
Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by
trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and
beast from it:
“Son of man, if a land sins against Me by acting unfaithfully, and I stretch out My hand against it to cut off its supply of food, to send famine upon it, and to cut off from it both man and beast,
If I cause
noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they
spoil it, so that it be
desolate, that no man may pass through because of the
beasts:
Or if I send wild
beasts through the land to leave it childless and
desolate, with no man passing through it for fear of the
beasts,
Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
Or if I bring a sword against that land and say, ‘Let a sword pass through it,’ so that I cut off from it both man and beast,
Or if I send a
pestilence into that land, and pour out my
fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and
beast:
Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out My wrath upon it through
bloodshed, cutting off from it both man and
beast,
For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four
sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the
noisome beast, and the
pestilence, to cut off from it man and
beast?
For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem My four
dire judgments—sword, famine, wild
beasts, and plague—in order to cut off from it both man and
beast?
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon
Edom, and will cut off man and
beast from it; and I will make it
desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.
therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I will stretch out My hand against
Edom and cut off from it both man and
beast. I will make it a wasteland, and from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.
And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.
I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish of your streams. You will fall on the open field and will not be taken away or gathered for burial. I have given you as food to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and cut off man and beast out of thee.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I will bring a sword against you and cut off from you man and beast.
No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.
No foot of man or beast will pass through, and it will be uninhabited for forty years.
All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
All the birds of the air nested in its branches, and all the beasts of the field gave birth beneath its boughs; all the great nations lived in its shade.
Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:
All the birds of the air nested on its fallen trunk, and all the beasts of the field lived among its boughs.
Then will I leave thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.
I will
abandon you on the land and
hurl you into the open field. I will cause all the birds of the air to settle upon you, and all the
beasts of the earth to eat their fill of you.
I will destroy also all the
beasts thereof from beside the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the
hoofs of
beasts trouble them.
I will slaughter all her cattle beside the abundant waters. No human foot will
muddy them again, and no cattle
hooves will
disturb them.
Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the
beasts to be
devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the
pestilence.
Tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘As surely as I live, those in the ruins will fall by the sword, those in the open field I will give to be
devoured by wild animals, and those in the strongholds and caves will die by plague.
And they were scattered, because there is no
shepherd: and they became meat to all the
beasts of the field, when they were scattered.
They were scattered for lack of a
shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild
beasts.
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every
beast of the field, because there was no
shepherd, neither did my
shepherds search for my flock, but the
shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;
‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, because My flock lacks a
shepherd and has become prey and food for every wild
beast, and because My
shepherds did not search for My flock but fed themselves instead,
And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
I will make with them a covenant of peace and rid the land of wild animals, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the forest.
And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the
beast of the land
devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
They will no longer be prey for the nations, and the
beasts of the earth will not
consume them. They will dwell securely, and no one will
frighten them.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will fill you with people and animals, and they will multiply and be fruitful. I will make you as inhabited as you once were, and I will make you
prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the
beasts of the field, and all
creeping things that
creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall
shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the
beasts of the field, every creature that crawls upon the ground, and all mankind on the face of the earth will
tremble at My presence. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will
collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground.
Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the
ravenous birds of every sort, and to the
beasts of the field to be
devoured.
On the mountains of Israel you will fall—you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you as food to every kind of
ravenous bird and wild
beast.
And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every
feathered fowl, and to every
beast of the field,
Assemble yourselves, and come; gather
yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
And as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: Call out to every kind of bird and to every
beast of the field: ‘
Assemble and come together from all around to the
sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood.
The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or
torn, whether it be fowl or
beast.
The priests may not eat any bird or animal found dead or
torn by wild
beasts.
And
wheresoever the children of men dwell, the
beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
Wherever the sons of men or beasts of the field or birds of the air dwell, He has given them into your hand and has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold.
The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit was abundant, and upon it was food for all. Under it the beasts of the field found shelter, in its branches the birds of the air nested, and from it every creature was fed.
