And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and
creeping thing, and
beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds:
livestock, land crawlers, and
beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
God made the
beasts of the earth according to their kinds, the
livestock according to their kinds, and everything that crawls upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
And to every
beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green
herb for meat: and it was so.
And to every beast of the earth and every bird of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth—everything that has the breath of life in it—I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.
And out of the ground the LORD God formed every
beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and
whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and He brought them to the man to see what he would name each one. And whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
The man gave names to all the
livestock, to the birds of the air, and to every
beast of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
Now the serpent was more
subtil than any
beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman,
Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Now the serpent was more
crafty than any
beast of the field that the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden?’”
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art
cursed above all cattle, and above every
beast of the field; upon thy
belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this,
cursed are you above all
livestock and every
beast of the field! On your
belly will you go, and dust you will eat, all the days of your life.
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and
beast, and the
creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
So the LORD said, “I will
blot out man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—every man and
beast and
crawling creature and bird of the air—for I am
grieved that I have made them.”
Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
You are to take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its
mate; a pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its
mate;
Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
The clean and unclean animals, the birds, and everything that crawls along the ground
They, and every
beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.
they and every kind of wild animal,
livestock,
crawling creature, bird, and winged creature.
And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of
beast, and of every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
And every living thing that moved upon the earth perished—birds,
livestock, animals, every creature that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind.
Every
beast, every
creeping thing, and every fowl, and
whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
Every living creature, every
creeping thing, and every bird—everything that moves upon the earth—came out of the ark, kind by kind.
And
Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean
beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Then
Noah built an altar to the LORD. And taking from every kind of clean animal and clean bird, he offered burnt offerings on the altar.
And the fear of you and the
dread of you shall be upon every
beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
The fear and
dread of you will fall on every living creature on the earth, every bird of the air, every creature that crawls on the ground, and all the fish of the sea. They are delivered into your hand.
And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man.
And surely I will require the life of any man or
beast by whose hand your
lifeblood is shed. I will demand an accounting from
anyone who takes the life of his fellow man:
And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the
livestock, and every
beast of the earth—every living thing that came out of the ark.
That which was
torn of
beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand
didst thou require it, whether
stolen by day, or
stolen by night.
I did not bring you anything
torn by wild
beasts; I bore the loss myself. And you demanded payment from me for what was
stolen by day or night.
Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.
Will not their
livestock, their possessions, and all their animals become ours? Only let us consent to them, and they will dwell among us.”
And
Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his
beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of
Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.
Later,
Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the people of his household, along with his
livestock, all his other animals, and all the property he had acquired in
Canaan, and he moved to a land far away from his brother Jacob.
Come now therefore, and let us
slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil
beast hath
devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.
“Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits. We can say that a
vicious animal has
devoured him. Then we shall see what becomes of his dreams!”
And he knew it, and said, It is my son’s coat; an evil
beast hath
devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces.
His father recognized it and said, “It is my son’s
robe! A
vicious animal has
devoured him. Joseph has surely been
torn to pieces!”
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye;
lade your
beasts, and go, get you unto the land of
Canaan;
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘Do as follows: Load your animals and return to the land of
Canaan.
And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and
smote the dust of the earth, and it became
lice in man, and in
beast; all the dust of the land became
lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
This they did, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the earth, gnats came upon man and beast. All the dust of the earth turned into gnats throughout the land of Egypt.
And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth
lice, but they could not: so there were
lice upon man, and upon
beast.
The magicians tried to produce gnats using their magic arts, but they could not. And the gnats remained on man and beast.
And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a
boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon
beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
It will become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and
festering boils will break out on man and
beast throughout the land.”
And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses
sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a
boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon
beast.
So they took
soot from the furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses
tossed it into the air, and
festering boils broke out on man and
beast.
Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and
beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the
hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.
So give orders now to shelter your
livestock and everything you have in the field. Every man or
beast that remains in the field and is not brought inside will die when the
hail comes down upon them.’”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be
hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon
beast, and upon every
herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that
hail may fall on all the land of Egypt—on man and
beast and every plant of the field throughout the land of Egypt.”
And the
hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and
beast; and the
hail smote every
herb of the field, and
brake every tree of the field.
Throughout the land of Egypt, the
hail struck down everything in the field, both man and
beast; it beat down every plant of the field and
stripped every tree.
and every
firstborn son in the land of Egypt will die, from the
firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, to the
firstborn of the servant
girl behind the hand mill, as well as the
firstborn of all the cattle.
But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or
beast: that ye may know how that the LORD
doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
But among all the Israelites, not even a dog will
snarl at man or
beast.’ Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will
smite all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and
beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will
execute judgment: I am the LORD.
On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every
firstborn male, both man and
beast, and I will
execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the
matrix, and every
firstling that cometh of a
beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD’S.
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD
slew all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the
firstborn of man, and the
firstborn of
beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the
matrix, being males; but all the
firstborn of my children I
redeem.
And when Pharaoh
stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both of man and
beast. This is why I sacrifice to the LORD the
firstborn male of every
womb, but I
redeem all the
firstborn of my sons.’
There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be
beast or man, it shall not live: when the
trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.
No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with arrows—whether man or beast, he must not live.’ Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast may they approach the mountain.”
The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
the owner of the pit shall make
restitution; he must pay its owner, and the dead animal will be his.
If a man shall cause a field or
vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his
beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own
vineyard, shall he make
restitution.
If a man deliver unto his neighbour an
ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any
beast, to keep; and it die, or be
hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:
If a man gives a
donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any other animal to be cared for by his
neighbor, but it dies or is injured or
stolen while no one is watching,
Whosoever lieth with a
beast shall surely be put to death.
Whoever lies with an animal must surely be put to death.
And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is
torn of
beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
You are to be My holy people. You must not eat the meat of a
mauled animal found in the field; you are to throw it to the dogs.
But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the
beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy
vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
but in the seventh year you must let it rest and lie
fallow, so that the poor among your people may eat from the field and the wild animals may
consume what they leave. Do the same with your
vineyard and olive
grove.
I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become
desolate, and the
beast of the field multiply against thee.
I will not drive them out before you in a single year; otherwise the land would become
desolate and wild animals would multiply against you.
Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a
carcase of an unclean
beast, or a
carcase of unclean cattle, or the
carcase of unclean
creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.
Or if a person touches anything unclean—whether the
carcass of any unclean wild animal or
livestock or
crawling creature—even if he is unaware of it, he is unclean and guilty.
Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean
beast, or any
abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which
pertain unto the LORD, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
If one touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness, an unclean animal, or any unclean,
detestable thing, and then eats any of the meat of the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.”
And the fat of the
beast that dieth of itself, and the fat of that which is
torn with
beasts, may be used in any other use: but ye shall in no wise eat of it.
The fat of an animal found dead or
mauled by wild
beasts may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it.
For
whosoever eateth the fat of the
beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.
If
anyone eats the fat of an animal from which an offering made by fire may be presented to the LORD, the one who eats it must be cut off from his people.
Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings.
You must not eat the blood of any bird or animal in any of your dwellings.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
“Say to the Israelites, ‘Of all the beasts of the earth, these ones you may eat:
Whatsoever parteth the
hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the
cud, among the
beasts, that shall ye eat.
You may eat any animal that has a split
hoof completely divided and that chews the
cud.
The carcases of every
beast which divideth the
hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the
cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
Every animal with
hooves not completely divided or that does not
chew the
cud is unclean for you.
Whoever touches any of them will be unclean.
And
whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of
beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you:
whoso toucheth their
carcase shall be unclean until the even.
All the four-footed animals that walk on their paws are unclean for you;
whoever touches their
carcasses will be unclean until evening,
And if any
beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the
carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.
If an animal that you may eat dies,
anyone who touches the
carcass will be unclean until evening.
This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
This is the law regarding animals, birds, all living creatures that move in the water, and all creatures that
crawl along the ground.
To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.
You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between animals that may be eaten and those that may not.’”
And
whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any
beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
And if any
Israelite or foreigner living among them hunts down a wild animal or bird that may be eaten, he must
drain its blood and cover it with
dirt.
And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was
torn with
beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.
And any person, whether native or foreigner, who eats anything found dead or
mauled by wild
beasts must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening; then he will be clean.
Neither shalt thou lie with any
beast to
defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a
beast to lie down
thereto: it is confusion.
And if a man lie with a
beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall
slay the
beast.
If a man lies
carnally with an animal, he must be put to death. And you are also to kill the animal.
And if a woman approach unto any
beast, and lie down
thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the
beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
If a woman approaches any animal to
mate with it, you must kill both the woman and the animal. They must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
Ye shall therefore put difference between clean
beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls
abominable by
beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
You are therefore to distinguish between clean and unclean animals and birds. Do not become
contaminated by any animal or bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground; I have set these apart as unclean for you.
That which dieth of itself, or is
torn with
beasts, he shall not eat to
defile himself
therewith: I am the LORD.
He must not eat anything found dead or
torn by wild animals, which would make him unclean. I am the LORD.
And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.
And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.
And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.
and for your
livestock and the wild animals in your land. All its growth may serve as food.
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
And I will give peace to the land, and you will lie down with nothing to fear. I will rid the land of dangerous animals, and no sword will pass through your land.
I will also send wild
beasts among you, which shall
rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be
desolate.
I will send wild animals against you to
rob you of your children, destroy your
livestock, and reduce your numbers, until your roads lie
desolate.
And if it be a
beast,
whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man giveth of such unto the LORD shall be holy.
If he vows an animal that may be brought as an offering to the LORD, any such animal given to the LORD shall be holy.
He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy.
He must not replace it or exchange it, either good for bad or bad for good. But if he does substitute one animal for another, both that animal and its substitute will be holy.
And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest:
But if the
vow involves any of the unclean animals that may not be brought as an offering to the LORD, the animal must be presented before the priest.
Only the
firstling of the
beasts, which should be the LORD’S
firstling, no man shall
sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD’S.
And if it be of an unclean
beast, then he shall
redeem it according to thine
estimation, and shall add a fifth part of it
thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to thy
estimation.
But if it is among the unclean animals, then he may
redeem it according to your
valuation and add a fifth of its value. If it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your
valuation.
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall
devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and
beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD.
Nothing that a man sets apart to the LORD from all he owns—whether a man, an animal, or his inherited land—can be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the LORD.
Because all the
firstborn are mine; for on the day that I
smote all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt I
hallowed unto me all the
firstborn in Israel, both man and
beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.
for all the
firstborn are Mine. On the day I struck down every
firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated to Myself all the
firstborn in Israel, both man and
beast. They are Mine; I am the LORD.”
For all the
firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and
beast: on the day that I
smote every
firstborn in the land of Egypt I
sanctified them for myself.
For every
firstborn male in Israel is Mine, both man and
beast. I set them apart for Myself on the day I struck down all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt.
Every thing that openeth the
matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or
beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the
firstborn of man shalt thou surely
redeem, and the
firstling of unclean
beasts shalt thou
redeem.
The
firstborn of every
womb, whether man or
beast, that is offered to the LORD belongs to you. But you must surely
redeem every
firstborn son and every
firstborn male of unclean animals.
Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
“Take the staff and
assemble the congregation. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the rock while they watch, and it will pour out its water. You will bring out water from the rock and provide drink for the congregation and their
livestock.”
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he
smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation
drank, and their
beasts also.
Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of water
gushed out, and the congregation and their
livestock were able to drink.
And they took all the
spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of
beasts.
and carried away all the
plunder and spoils, both people and animals.
Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of
beast, thou, and
Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
“You and
Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the congregation are to take a count of what was captured, both of man and
beast.
And of the children of Israel’s half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the
beeves, of the
asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of
beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.
From the Israelites’ half, take one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle,
donkeys, sheep, or other animals, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.”
Even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
From the Israelites’ half, Moses took one out of every fifty persons and animals and gave them to the Levites who kept charge of the tabernacle of the LORD, as the LORD had commanded him.
And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.
The cities will be for them to live in, and the pasturelands will be for their herds, their flocks, and all their other
livestock.
The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
of any
beast that is on the earth or bird that
flies in the air,
And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not
consume them at once, lest the
beasts of the field increase upon thee.
The LORD your God will drive out these nations before you little by little. You will not be enabled to
eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals would multiply around you.
These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
These are the animals that you may eat: The ox, the sheep, the goat,
And every
beast that parteth the
hoof, and cleaveth the
cleft into two claws, and cheweth the
cud among the
beasts, that ye shall eat.
You may eat any animal that has a split
hoof divided in two and that chews the
cud.
Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of
beast. And all the people shall say,
Amen.
‘
Cursed is he who lies with any animal.’ And let all the people say, ‘
Amen!’
And thy
carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the
beasts of the earth, and no man shall
fray them away.
Your corpses will be food for all the birds of the air and
beasts of the earth, with no one to
scare them away.
They shall be burnt with hunger, and
devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of
beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.
They will be wasted from hunger and
ravaged by
pestilence and bitter plague; I will send the fangs of wild
beasts against them, with the
venom of vipers that
slither in the dust.
And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and
smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the
beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.
And the men of Israel turned back against the other Benjamites and put to the sword all the cities, including the animals and everything else they found. And they burned down all the cities in their path.
And the
Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the
beasts of the field.
“Come here,” he called to David, “and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!”
This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will
smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild
beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand. This day I will strike you down, cut off your head, and give the
carcasses of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the creatures of the earth. Then the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took
sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the
beasts of the field by night.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took
sackcloth and spread it out for herself on a rock. From the beginning of the harvest until the rain from heaven poured down on the bodies, she did not allow the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the
beasts of the field by night.
And he spake of trees, from the
cedar tree that is in
Lebanon even unto the
hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of
beasts, and of fowl, and of
creeping things, and of fishes.
He spoke of trees, from the
cedar in
Lebanon to the
hyssop growing in the wall, and he taught about animals, birds, reptiles, and fish.
And
Ahab said unto
Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all
brooks:
peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the
beasts.
Then
Ahab said to
Obadiah, “Go throughout the land to every spring and every valley. Perhaps we will find grass to keep the horses and mules alive so that we will not have to destroy any
livestock.”
For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.
For the LORD says, ‘You will not see wind or rain, but the valley will be filled with water, and you will drink—you and your cattle and your animals.’
And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to
Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The
thistle that was in
