Amaziah had done;

Amaziah had done.
And the LORD
smote the king, so that he was a
leper unto the day of
his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land.
And the LORD
afflicted the king with
leprosy until the day he died, so that he lived in a separate house while
his son Jotham had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land.

Azariah slept with
his fathers; and they buried him with
his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham
his son reigned in
his stead.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as
his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of
Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as
his fathers had done. He did not turn away from the sins that
Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
Then Shallum son of
Jabesh conspired against
Zechariah, struck him down and killed him in front of the people, and reigned in
his place.
For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and
smote Shallum the son of
Jabesh in Samaria, and
slew him, and reigned in
his stead.

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and throughout
his reign he did not turn away from the sins that
Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
And
Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave
Pul a thousand talents of silver, that
his hand might be with him to
confirm the kingdom in
his hand.
Then
Pul king of Assyria invaded the land, and Menahem gave

his support and

slept with
his fathers; and Pekahiah
his son reigned in
his stead.
And Menahem rested with his fathers, and his son Pekahiah reigned in his place.
But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of
his,
conspired against him, and
smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king’s house, with
Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in
his room.
Then
his officer, Pekah son of Remaliah,
conspired against him along with
Argob, Arieh, and fifty men of
Gilead. And at the citadel of the king’s palace in Samaria, Pekah struck down and killed Pekahiah and reigned in
his place.

Zadok.

his fathers, and was buried with
his fathers in the city of David
his father: and
Ahaz his son reigned in
his stead.
And Jotham rested with
his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David
his father. And
his son
Ahaz reigned in
his place.
Twenty years old was
Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD
his God, like David
his father.
Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. And unlike David
his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD
his God.
But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel,
yea, and made
his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.
Instead, he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and even sacrificed his son in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations that the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.
and he burnt
his burnt offering and
his meat offering, and poured
his drink offering, and
sprinkled the blood of
his peace offerings, upon the altar.
He offered
his burnt offering and
his grain offering, poured out
his drink offering, and
sprinkled the blood of
his peace offerings on the altar.
And king
Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king’s burnt sacrifice, and
his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and
sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the
brasen altar shall be for me to
enquire by.
Then King
Ahaz commanded Uriah the priest, “Offer on the great altar the morning burnt offering, the evening grain offering, and the king’s burnt offering and grain offering, as well as the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings of all the people of the land.
Sprinkle on the altar all the blood of the burnt offerings and sacrifices. But I will use the bronze altar to seek guidance.”

Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.
Shalmaneser king of Assyria attacked him, and Hoshea became
his vassal and paid him tribute.
Yet the LORD
testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
Yet through all
His prophets and seers, the LORD
warned Israel and Judah, saying, “Turn from your wicked ways and keep My commandments and statutes, according to the entire Law that I commanded your fathers and delivered to you through My servants the prophets.”
And they rejected
his statutes, and
his covenant that he made with their fathers, and
his testimonies which he
testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
They rejected
His statutes and the covenant He had made with their fathers, as well as the decrees He had given them. They pursued worthless idols and themselves became worthless, going after the surrounding nations that the LORD had commanded them not to
imitate.
Therefore the LORD was very
angry with Israel, and removed them out of
his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
So the LORD was very
angry with Israel, and He removed them from
His presence. Only the tribe of Judah remained,
And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and
afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of
his sight.
So the LORD rejected all the descendants of Israel. He
afflicted them and delivered them into the hands of plunderers, until He had banished them from
His presence.
Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
Finally, the LORD removed Israel from His presence, as He had declared through all His servants the prophets. So Israel was exiled from their homeland into Assyria, where they are to this day.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father David had done.
For he
clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept
his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses.
He remained faithful to the LORD and did not turn from following Him; he kept the commandments that the LORD had given Moses.
Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but
transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.
This happened because they did not
listen to the voice of the LORD their God, but
violated His covenant—all that Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded—and would neither
listen nor obey.
Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this
bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man
lean, it will go into
his hand, and
pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.
Look now, you are trusting in Egypt, that
splintered reed of a staff that will
pierce the hand of
anyone who leans on it. Such is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.
Thus saith the king, Let not
Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of
his hand:
This is what the king says: Do not let
Hezekiah deceive you; he cannot deliver you from my hand.
Hearken not to
Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me, and then eat ye every man of
his own vine, and every one of
his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of
his cistern:
Do not
listen to
Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says: Make peace with me and come out to me. Then every one of you will eat from
his own vine and
his own fig tree, and drink water from
his own
cistern,
Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
Has the god of any nation ever delivered his land from the hand of the king of Assyria?
Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand?
Who among all the gods of these lands has delivered his land from my hand? How then can the LORD deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”
And it came to pass, when king
Hezekiah heard it, that he rent
his clothes, and covered himself with
sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
On hearing this report, King
Hezekiah tore his clothes, put on
sackcloth, and entered the house of the LORD.
It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of
Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria
his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the
remnant that are left.
Perhaps the LORD your God will hear all the words of the
Rabshakeh, whom
his master the king of Assyria has sent to
defy the living God, and He will
rebuke him for the words that the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up a prayer for the
remnant that still survives.”
Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
Behold, I will put a spirit in him so that he will hear a
rumor and return to
his own land, where I will cause him to fall by the sword.’”
Now therefore, O LORD our God, I
beseech thee, save thou us out of
his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.
And now, O LORD our God, please save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O LORD, are God.”
By the messengers thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my
chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of
Lebanon, and will cut down the tall
cedar trees thereof, and the choice
fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of
his borders, and into the forest of
his Carmel.
Through your servants you have
taunted the Lord, and you have said: “With my many
chariots I have ascended to the heights of the mountains, to the remote peaks of
Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the finest of its
cypresses. I have reached its
farthest outposts, the densest of its forests.
One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of
his god
Nisroch,
his sons
Adrammelech and Sharezer put him to the sword and escaped to the land of
Ararat. And
his son Esar-haddon reigned in
his place.
Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,
Then
Hezekiah turned
his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, saying,
And
Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of
his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious
ointment, and all the house of
his armour, and all that was found in
his treasures: there was nothing in
his house, nor in all
his dominion, that
Hezekiah shewed them not.
And
Hezekiah received the envoys and showed them all that was in
his treasure house—the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, as well as
his armory—all that was found in
his storehouses. There was nothing in
his palace or in all
his dominion that
Hezekiah did not show them.

And
Hezekiah rested with
his fathers, and
his son
Manasseh reigned in
his place.
Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And
his mother’s name was Hephzi-
bah.
Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years.
His mother’s name was Hephzibah.
For he built up again the high places which
Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for
Baal, and made a
grove, as did
Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
For he rebuilt the high places that
his father
Hezekiah had destroyed, and he raised up altars for
Baal. He made an Asherah pole, as King
Ahab of Israel had done, and he worshiped and served all the host of heaven.
And he made
his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
He sacrificed
his own son in the fire, practiced
sorcery and
divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD,
provoking Him to anger.
And he set a
graven image of the
grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon
his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
Manasseh even took the carved Asherah pole he had made and set it up in the temple, of which the LORD had said to David and
his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will establish My Name
forever.
And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
And the LORD spoke through His servants the prophets, saying,
Because
Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the
Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with
his idols:
“Since
Manasseh king of Judah has committed all these abominations, acting more wickedly than the
Amorites who preceded him, and with
his idols has caused Judah to sin,
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that
whosoever heareth of it, both
his ears shall
tingle.
this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I am bringing such
calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah that the news will
reverberate in the ears of all who hear it.
Moreover
Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside
his sin
wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
Moreover,
Manasseh shed so much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem from end to end, in addition to the sin that he had caused Judah to commit, doing evil in the sight of the LORD.

Manasseh rested with
his fathers and was buried in
his palace garden, the garden of Uzza. And
his son Amon reigned in

Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as
his father
Manasseh did.
And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as
his father
Manasseh had done.
And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:
He walked in all the ways of his father, and he served and worshiped the idols his father had served.
And he
forsook the LORD God of
his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.
He abandoned the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the LORD.
And the servants of Amon
conspired against him, and
slew the king in
his own house.
Then the servants of Amon
conspired against him and killed the king in
his palace.
And the people of the land
slew all them that had
conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made
Josiah his son king in
his stead.
But the people of the land killed all those who had

his son
Josiah king in
his place.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in all the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.
And it came to pass in the
eighteenth year of king
Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the
scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying,
Now in the
eighteenth year of
his reign, King
Josiah sent the

And the king stood by a
pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep
his commandments and
his testimonies and
his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.
So the king stood by the
pillar and made a covenant before the LORD to follow the LORD and to keep
His commandments, decrees, and statutes with all
his heart and all
his soul, and to carry out the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people entered into the covenant.
And he
defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of
Hinnom, that no man might make
his son or
his daughter to pass through the fire to
Molech.
He also
desecrated Topheth in the Valley of Ben-
hinnom so that no one could sacrifice
his son or daughter in the fire to
Molech.
And he said, Let him alone; let no man move his bones. So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria.
“Let him rest,” said
Josiah. “Do not let
anyone disturb his bones.” So they left
his bones undisturbed, along with those of the prophet who had come from Samaria.
And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.
Neither before nor after
Josiah was there any king like him, who turned to the LORD with all
his heart and with all
his soul and with all
his strength, according to all the Law of Moses.
Notwithstanding the LORD turned not from the fierceness of
his great wrath,
wherewith his anger was
kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations that
Manasseh had
provoked him
withal.
Nevertheless, the LORD did not turn away from the
fury of
His burning anger, which was
kindled against Judah because of all that
Manasseh had done to
provoke Him to anger.

In
his days Pharaoh-nechoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates: and king
Josiah went against him; and he
slew him at
Megiddo, when he had seen him.
At the end of
Josiah’s reign, Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt marched up to help the king of Assyria at the Euphrates River. King
Josiah went out to
confront him, but Neco faced him and killed him at
Megiddo.
From
Megiddo his servants carried
his body in a
chariot, brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in
his own tomb. Then the people of the land took
Jehoahaz son of
Josiah,
anointed him, and made him king in place of
his father.
Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And
his mother’s name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of
Libnah.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.
And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, just as his fathers had done.
And Pharaoh-nechoh made Eliakim the son of
Josiah king in the room of
Josiah his father, and turned
his name to
Jehoiakim, and took
Jehoahaz away: and he came to Egypt, and died there.
Then Pharaoh Neco made Eliakim son of
Josiah king in place of
his father
Josiah, and he changed Eliakim’s name to
Jehoiakim. But Neco took
Jehoahaz and carried him off to Egypt, where he died.
And
Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to
his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh-nechoh.
So
Jehoiakim paid the silver and gold to Pharaoh Neco, but to meet Pharaoh’s demand he taxed the land and exacted the silver and the gold from the people, each according to
his wealth.

In
his days
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and
Jehoiakim became
his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of
Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by
his servants the prophets.
Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of
his sight, for the sins of
Manasseh, according to all that he did;
Surely this happened to Judah at the LORD’s command, to remove them from
His presence because of the sins of
Manasseh and all that he had done,

And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of
his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that
pertained to the king of Egypt.
Now the king of Egypt did not march out of
his land again, because the king of Babylon had taken all
his territory, from the
Brook of Egypt to the Euphrates River.

Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and
his mother, and
his servants, and
his princes, and
his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of
his reign.
Jehoiachin king of Judah,
his mother,
his servants,
his commanders, and
his officials all surrendered to the king of Babylon. So in the eighth year of
his reign, the king of Babylon took him
captive.
