The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
the king
exclaimed, “Is this not Babylon the Great, which I myself have built by the might of my power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?”
Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the
house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines,
drank in them.
Thus they brought in the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple, the
house of God in Jerusalem, and the king
drank from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
Now the queen, by reason of the words of the king and his lords, came into the
banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:
Hearing the outcry of the king and his nobles, the queen entered the
banquet hall. “O king, may you live
forever!” she said. “Do not let your thoughts
terrify you, or your face grow pale.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his
house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The vessels from His
house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his
house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he
kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave
thanks before his God, as he did
aforetime.
Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his
house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave
thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
And the LORD said unto him, Call his name
Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will
avenge the blood of
Jezreel upon the
house of
Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the
house of Israel.
Then the LORD said to
Hosea, “Name him
Jezreel, for soon I will bring the
bloodshed of
Jezreel upon the
house of
Jehu, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.
And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
Gomer again conceived and gave birth to a daughter, and the LORD said to
Hosea, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have
compassion on the
house of Israel, that I should ever
forgive them.
But I will have mercy upon the
house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by
horsemen.
Yet I will have
compassion on the
house of Judah, and I will save them—not by bow or sword or war, not by horses and cavalry, but by the LORD their God.”
Hear ye this, O priests; and
hearken, ye
house of Israel; and give ye ear, O
house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a
snare on
Mizpah, and a net spread upon
Tabor.
“Hear this, O priests! Take
heed, O
house of Israel! Give ear, O royal
house! For this judgment is against you because you have been a
snare at
Mizpah, a net spread out on
Tabor.
Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a
moth, and to the
house of Judah as
rottenness.
So I am like a
moth to Ephraim, and like decay to the
house of Judah.
For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the
house of Judah: I, even I, will
tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall
rescue him.
For I am like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the
house of Judah. I, even I, will
tear them to pieces and then go away. I will carry them off where no one can
rescue them.
Set the
trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the
house of the LORD, because they have
transgressed my covenant, and
trespassed against my law.
Put the ram’s horn to your lips! An eagle looms over the
house of the LORD, because the people have
transgressed My covenant and rebelled against My law.
They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be
polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the
house of the LORD.
They will not pour out wine offerings to the LORD, and their sacrifices will not please Him, but will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat will be
defiled. For their bread will be for themselves; it will not enter the
house of the LORD.
The
watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a
snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the
house of his God.
The prophet is Ephraim’s
watchman, along with my God, yet the
snare of the fowler lies on all his paths. Hostility is in the
house of his God!
All their wickedness is in
Gilgal: for there I
hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine
house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
All their evil appears at
Gilgal, for there I
hated them. I will drive them from My
house for the wickedness of their deeds. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are
rebellious.
They shall
tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a
dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their
houses, saith the LORD.
They will come
trembling like birds from Egypt and like doves from the land of Assyria. Then I will settle them in their homes, declares the LORD.
Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the
house of Israel with
deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
Ephraim surrounds Me with lies, the
house of Israel with
deceit; but Judah still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy One.
The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the
house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD’S ministers,
mourn.
Grain and drink offerings have been cut off from the
house of the LORD; the priests are in
mourning, those who minister before the LORD.
Gird yourselves, and
lament, ye priests:
howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in
sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is
withholden from the
house of your God.
Put on
sackcloth and
lament, O priests;
wail, O ministers of the altar. Come,
spend the night in
sackcloth, O ministers of my God, because the grain and drink offerings are
withheld from the
house of your God.
Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the
house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
Consecrate a fast;
proclaim a solemn assembly! Gather the elders and all the residents of the land to the
house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.
Is not the meat cut off before our eyes,
yea, joy and
gladness from the
house of our God?
Has not the food been cut off before our very eyes— joy and
gladness from the
house of our God?
They shall run to and
fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall
climb up upon the
houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a
thief.
They storm the city; they run along the wall; they
climb into
houses, entering through windows like
thieves.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the
house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of
Shittim.
And in that day the mountains will
drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk. All the streams of Judah will run with water, and a spring will flow from the
house of the LORD to water the Valley of
Acacias.
But I will send a fire into the
house of
Hazael, which shall
devour the palaces of Ben-
hadad.
I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of
Aven, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from the
house of
Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
I will break down the gates of Damascus; I will cut off the ruler of the Valley of
Aven and the one who wields the
scepter in Beth-
eden. The people of
Aram will be exiled to Kir,” says the LORD.
And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to
pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the
house of their god.
They lie down beside every altar on garments taken in
pledge. And in the
house of their God, they drink wine obtained through fines.
Hear ye, and
testify in the
house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,
Hear and
testify against the
house of Jacob, declares the Lord GOD, the God of Hosts.
And I will
smite the winter
house with the summer
house; and the
houses of ivory shall perish, and the great
houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
I will
tear down the winter
house along with the summer
house; the
houses of ivory will also perish, and the great
houses will come to an end,” declares the LORD.
Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a
lamentation, O
house of Israel.
Hear this word, O
house of Israel, this
lamentation I take up against you:
For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
This is what the Lord GOD says: “The city that marches out a thousand strong will only see a hundred return, and the one that marches out a hundred strong will have but ten left in the house of Israel.”
For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
For this is what the LORD says to the house of Israel: “Seek Me and live!
Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the
house of Joseph, and
devour it, and there be none to
quench it in
Bethel.
Seek the LORD and live, or He will
sweep like fire through the
house of Joseph; it will
devour everything, with no one at
Bethel to
extinguish it.
Forasmuch therefore as your
treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built
houses of
hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
Therefore, because you
trample on the poor and exact from him a tax of grain, you will never live in the stone
houses you have built; you will never drink the wine from the
lush vineyards you have planted.
As if a man did
flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the
house, and
leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent
bit him.
It will be like a man who flees from a lion, only to
encounter a bear, or who enters his
house and rests his hand against the wall, only to be
bitten by a
snake.
Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
Did you bring Me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
Woe to them that are at ease in
Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the
house of Israel came!
Woe to those at ease in
Zion and those secure on Mount Samaria, the distinguished ones of the foremost nation, to whom the
house of Israel comes.
And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
And if there are ten men left in one house, they too will die.
And a man’s uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.
And when the relative who is to burn the bodies picks them up to remove them from the
house, he will call to one inside, “Is
anyone else with you?” “None,” that person will answer. “Silence,” the relative will
retort, “for the name of the LORD must not be
invoked.”
For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will
smite the great
house with breaches, and the little
house with clefts.
For the LORD gives a command: “The great
house will be
smashed to pieces, and the small
house to
rubble.”
But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O
house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall
afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
For behold, I will raise up a nation against you, O
house of Israel,” declares the LORD, the God of Hosts, “and they will
oppress you from Lebo-
hamath to the
Brook of the Arabah.”
And the high places of Isaac shall be
desolate, and the
sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the
house of
Jeroboam with the sword.
The high places of Isaac will be deserted, and the
sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise up against the
house of
Jeroboam with My sword.”
Then
Amaziah the priest of
Bethel sent to
Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,
Amos hath
conspired against thee in the midst of the
house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
Then
Amaziah the priest of
Bethel sent word to
Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “
Amos has
conspired against you in the midst of the
house of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words,
Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest,
Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the
house of Isaac.
Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say: ‘Do not
prophesy against Israel; do not
preach against the
house of Isaac.’
Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.
Surely the eyes of the Lord GOD are on the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth. Yet I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob,” declares the LORD.
For, lo, I will command, and I will
sift the
house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is
sifted in a
sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
“For surely I will give the command, and I will
shake the
house of Israel among all the nations as grain is
sifted in a
sieve; but not a
pebble will reach the ground.
But upon mount
Zion shall be
deliverance, and there shall be
holiness; and the
house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
But on Mount
Zion there will be
deliverance, and it will be holy, and the
house of Jacob will reclaim their possession.
And the
house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the
house of Joseph a flame, and the
house of
Esau for
stubble, and they shall
kindle in them, and
devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the
house of
Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
Then the
house of Jacob will be a
blazing fire, and the
house of Joseph a burning flame; but the
house of
Esau will be
stubble— Jacob will set it
ablaze and
consume it. Therefore no
survivor will remain from the
house of
Esau.” For the LORD has spoken.
For the
transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the
house of Israel. What is the
transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
All this is for the
transgression of Jacob and the sins of the
house of Israel. What is the
transgression of Jacob? Is it not Samaria? And what is the high place of Judah? Is it not Jerusalem?
Declare ye it not at
Gath,
weep ye not at all: in the
house of Aphrah roll
thyself in the dust.
Do not tell it in
Gath; do not
weep at all. Roll in the dust in Beth-leaphrah.
Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moresheth-
gath: the
houses of
Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.
And they
covet fields, and take them by violence; and
houses, and take them away: so they
oppress a man and his
house, even a man and his
heritage.
They
covet fields and seize them; they take away
houses. They deprive a man of his home, a fellow man of his inheritance.
O thou that art named the
house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD
straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
Should it be said, O house of Jacob, “Is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these the things He does?” Do not My words bring good to him who walks uprightly?
The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
You drive the women of My people from their pleasant homes. You take away My blessing from their children
forever.
And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?
Then I said: “Hear now, O leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Should you not know justice?
Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the
house of Jacob, and princes of the
house of Israel, that
abhor judgment, and
pervert all
equity.
Now hear this, O leaders of the
house of Jacob and rulers of the
house of Israel, who
despise justice and
pervert all that is right,
Therefore shall
Zion for your sake be
plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the
house as the high places of the forest.
Therefore, because of you,
Zion will be
plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a
heap of
rubble, and the temple mount a wooded ridge.
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the
house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be
exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and the peoples will stream to it.
And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the
house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of
Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And many nations will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the
house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from
Zion and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the
house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and
Miriam.
For I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the
house of slavery. I sent Moses before you, as well as Aaron and
Miriam.
Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the
house of the wicked, and the
scant measure that is
abominable?
Can I
forget any longer, O
house of the wicked, the treasures of wickedness and the short
ephah, which is
accursed?
For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the
house of
Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a
desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an
hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
You have kept the statutes of Omri and all the practices of
Ahab’s
house; you have followed their counsel. Therefore I will make you a
desolation, and your inhabitants an object of contempt; you will bear the
scorn of the nations.”
For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies are the members of his own household.
And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the
house of thy gods will I cut off the
graven image and the
molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art
vile.
The LORD has issued a command concerning you, O
Nineveh: “There will be no descendants to carry on your name. I will cut off the carved image and cast
idol from the
house of your gods; I will prepare your grave, for you are contemptible.”
Woe to him that coveteth an evil
covetousness to his
house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!
Woe to him who builds his
house by unjust gain, to place his nest on high and escape the hand of
disaster!
Thou hast consulted shame to thy
house by cutting off many people, and hast
sinned against thy soul.
You have
plotted shame for your
house by cutting off many peoples and
forfeiting your life.
Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine
anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the
house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck.
Selah.
You went forth for the salvation of Your people, to save Your
anointed. You
crushed the head of the
house of the wicked and
stripped him from head to
toe.
Selah And them that worship the host of heaven upon the
housetops; and them that worship and that
swear by the LORD, and that
swear by Malcham;
those who bow on the rooftops to worship the host of heaven, those who bow down and
swear by the LORD but also
swear by Milcom,
In the same day also will I
punish all those that
leap on the
threshold, which fill their masters’
houses with violence and
deceit.
Therefore their goods shall become a
booty, and their
houses a
desolation: they shall also build
houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
Their wealth will be
plundered and their
houses laid waste. They will build
houses but not inhabit them, and plant vineyards but never drink their wine.
And the coast shall be for the
remnant of the
house of Judah; they shall feed
thereupon: in the
houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
The coast will belong to the
remnant of the
house of Judah; there they will find pasture. They will lie down in the evening among the
houses of Ashkelon, for the LORD their God will attend to them and restore their
captives.
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be built.
that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “These people say, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the LORD.’”
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
“Is it a time for you
yourselves to live in your
paneled houses, while this
house lies in ruins?”
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the
house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be
glorified, saith the LORD.
Go up into the hills, bring down
lumber, and build the
house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be
glorified, says the LORD.
Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
You expected much, but behold, it amounted to little. And what you brought home, I
blew away. Why? declares the LORD of Hosts. Because My
house still lies in ruins, while each of you is
busy with his own
house.
And the LORD
stirred up the spirit of
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the
remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the
house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
So the LORD
stirred the spirit of
Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as the spirit of all the
remnant of the people. And they came and began the work on the
house of the LORD of Hosts, their God,
Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not appear to you like nothing in comparison?’
And I will
shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this
house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
I will
shake all the nations, and they will come with all their treasures, and I will fill this
house with glory, says the LORD of Hosts.
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the LORD of Hosts. And in this place I will provide peace, declares the LORD of Hosts.”
Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with
mercies: my
house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there My house will be rebuilt, declares the LORD of Hosts, and a measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.’
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou
wilt walk in my ways, and if thou
wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my
house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘If you walk in My ways and keep My instructions, then you will
govern My
house and will also have charge of My courts; and I will give you a place among these who are standing here.
The hands of
Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this
house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
“The hands of
Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this
house, and his hands will complete it. Then you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent me to you.
I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the
house of the
thief, and into the
house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his
house, and shall
consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
I will send it out, declares the LORD of Hosts, and it will enter the
house of the
thief and the
house of him who swears falsely by My name. It will remain inside his
house and destroy it, down to its timbers and stones.”
And he said unto me, To build it an
house in the land of
Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
“To build a
house for it in the land of
Shinar,” he told me. “And when it is ready, the
basket will be set there on its
pedestal.”
Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the
house of
Josiah the son of
Zephaniah;
“Take an offering from the exiles—from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have arrived from Babylon—and go that same day to the
house of
Josiah son of
Zephaniah.
When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regem-melech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,
Now the people of
Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech, along with their men, to
plead before the LORD
And to speak unto the priests which were in the
house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I
weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
by asking the priests of the
house of the LORD of Hosts, as well as the prophets, “Should I
weep and fast in the fifth month, as I have done these many years?”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Let your hands be strong, you who now hear these words spoken by the prophets who were present when the foundations were laid to rebuild the temple, the house of the LORD of Hosts.
And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a
curse among the heathen, O
house of Judah, and
house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
As you have been a
curse among the nations, O
house of Judah and
house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid; let your hands be strong.”
So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
“so now I have resolved to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the
house of Judah joy and
gladness, and
cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: The fasts of the fourth, the fifth, the seventh, and the tenth months will become times of joy and
gladness,
cheerful feasts for the
house of Judah. Therefore you are to love both truth and peace.”
And I will
encamp about mine
house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no
oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.
But I will camp around My
house because of an army, because of those who march to and
fro, and never again will an
oppressor overrun My people, for now I keep watch with My own eyes.
Mine anger was
kindled against the
shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the
house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
“My anger burns against the
shepherds, and I will
punish the leaders. For the LORD of Hosts attends to His flock, the
house of Judah; He will make them like His royal
steed in battle.
And I will
strengthen the
house of Judah, and I will save the
house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.
I will
strengthen the
house of Judah and save the
house of Joseph. I will restore them because I have
compassion on them, and they will be as though I had not rejected them. For I am the LORD their God, and I will answer them.
And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the
potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the
potter in the
house of the LORD.
And the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the
potter”—this magnificent price at which they valued me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them to the
potter in the
house of the LORD.
In that day, saith the LORD, I will
smite every horse with
astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the
house of Judah, and will
smite every horse of the people with blindness.
On that day, declares the LORD, I will strike every horse with
panic, and every rider with madness. I will keep a watchful eye on the
house of Judah, but I will strike with blindness all the horses of the nations.
The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the
house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not
magnify themselves against Judah.
The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not be greater than that of Judah.
In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
On that day the LORD will defend the people of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD going before them.
And I will pour upon the
house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall
mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his
firstborn.
Then I will pour out on the
house of David and on the people of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayer, and they will look on Me, the One they have pierced. They will
mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and
grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a
firstborn son.
And the land shall
mourn, every family apart; the family of the
house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the
house of
Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
The land will
mourn, each clan on its own: the clan of the
house of David and their wives, the clan of the
house of
Nathan and their wives,
