But the same servant went out, and found
one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred
pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
But when that servant went out, he found
one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred
denarii. He
grabbed him and began to
choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe me!’
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts
forgive not every
one his brother their trespasses.
That is how My heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you
forgive your brother from your heart.”
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall
cleave to his wife: and they
twain shall be
one flesh?
and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?
Wherefore they are no more
twain, but
one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put
asunder.
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s
womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
For there are eunuchs who were born that way; others were made that way by men; and still others live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Just then a man came up to Jesus and inquired, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?”
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but
one, that is, God: but if thou
wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
“Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit
adultery, Thou shalt not
steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
“Which
ones?” the man asked. Jesus answered, “‘Do not murder, do not commit
adultery, do not
steal, do not bear false witness,
And every
one that hath
forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an
hundredfold, and shall
inherit everlasting life.
And
everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a
hundredfold and will
inherit eternal life.
They say unto him, Because no man hath
hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the
vineyard; and
whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.
‘Because no
one has
hired us,’ they answered. So he told them, ‘You also go into my
vineyard.’
So when even was come, the lord of the
vineyard saith unto his
steward, Call the labourers, and give them their
hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
When evening came, the owner of the
vineyard said to his
foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, starting with the last
ones hired and moving on to the first.’
Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
‘These men who were
hired last worked only
one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the
scorching heat of the day.’
But he answered
one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong:
didst not thou agree with me for a
penny?
But he answered
one of them, ‘Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Did you not agree with me on
one denarius?
And he said unto her, What
wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the
one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
“What do you want?” He inquired. She answered, “Declare that in Your kingdom one of these two sons of mine may sit at Your right hand, and the other at Your left.”
And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
“I will also ask you one question,” Jesus replied, “and if you answer Me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my
vineyard.
But what do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first
one and said, ‘Son, go and work
today in the
vineyard.’
And the
husbandmen took his servants, and beat
one, and killed another, and stoned another.
But the tenants seized his servants. They beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.
But when the
husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and take his inheritance.’
But they made light of it, and went their ways,
one to his farm, another to his
merchandise:
But they paid no attention and went away, one to his field, another to his business.
And they sent out unto him their disciples with the
Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
They sent their disciples to Him along with the
Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and that You teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You seek favor from no
one, because You pay no attention to external appearance.
Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died without having children. So he left his wife to his brother.
Then
one of them, which was a
lawyer, asked him a question,
tempting him, and saying,
One of them, an
expert in the law, tested Him with a question:
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither
durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
No
one was able to answer a word, and from that day on no
one dared to question Him any further.
For they bind heavy burdens and
grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with
one of their fingers.
They
tie up heavy,
burdensome loads and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
But be not ye called
Rabbi: for
one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
But you are not to be called ‘
Rabbi,’ for you have
one Teacher, and you are all brothers.
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
And do not call
anyone on earth your father, for you have
one Father, who is in heaven.
Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have
one Instructor, the Christ.
Woe to you,
scribes and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You
traverse land and sea to
win a single convert, and when he becomes
one, you make him twice as much a son of
hell as you are.
And
whoso shall
swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the One who dwells in it.
And he that shall
swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth
thereon.
And he who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the One who sits on it.
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things?
verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here
one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
“Do you see all these things?” He replied. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take
heed that no man
deceive you.
Jesus answered, “See to it that no one deceives you.
And then shall many be
offended, and shall
betray one another, and shall
hate one another.
At that time many will fall away and will
betray and
hate one another,
But he that shall
endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Let no
one on the housetop come down to
retrieve anything from his house.
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
And let no
one in the field return for his
cloak.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they shall gather together his
elect from the four winds, from
one end of heaven to the other.
And He will send out His angels with a loud
trumpet call, and they will gather His
elect from the four winds, from
one end of the heavens to the other.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left.
Two women shall be
grinding at the mill; the
one shall be taken, and the other left.
Two women will be
grinding at the mill:
one will be taken and the other left.
They that were
foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
The
foolish ones took their lamps but did not take along any extra oil.
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
But the wise ones took oil in flasks along with their lamps.
And the
foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
The
foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and
buy for
yourselves.
‘No,’ said the wise
ones, ‘or there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and
buy some for
yourselves.’
And unto
one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another
one; to every man according to his several ability; and
straightway took his journey.
To one he gave five talents, to another two talents, and to another one talent—each according to his own ability. And he went on his journey.
And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
Likewise, the one with the two talents gained two more.
But he that had received
one went and
digged in the earth, and
hid his lord’s money.
But the servant who had received the
one talent went off,
dug a hole in the ground, and
hid his master’s money.
Then he which had received the
one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man,
reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
Finally, the servant who had received the
one talent came and said, ‘Master, I knew that you are a hard man,
reaping where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
Therefore take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents.
For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
For
everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. But the
one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them
one from another, as a
shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate the people
one from another, as a
shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto
one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
Then shall he answer them, saying,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to
one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Then the King will answer, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.’
Then
one of the twelve, called
Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
Then
one of the Twelve, the

Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
And as they did eat, he said,
Verily I say unto you, that
one of you shall
betray me.
And while they were eating, He said to them, “Truly I tell you,
one of you will
betray Me.”
And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
They were deeply
grieved and began to ask Him
one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”
And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the
dish, the same shall
betray me.
Jesus answered, “The
one who has
dipped his hand into the
bowl with Me will
betray Me.
And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them
asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me
one hour?
Then Jesus returned to the disciples and found them sleeping. “Were you not able to keep watch with Me for one hour?” He asked Peter.
And while he yet spake, lo,
Judas,
one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and
staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
While Jesus was still speaking,
Judas,
one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
Now the
betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The
One I
kiss is the man; arrest Him.”
And, behold,
one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and
smote off his ear.
At this, one of Jesus’ companions drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
After a little while, those standing nearby came up to Peter. “Surely you are
one of them,” they said, “for your
accent gives you away.”
Therefore when they were gathered together,
Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
So when the crowd had assembled,
Pilate asked them, “Which
one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
Then were there two
thieves crucified with him,
one on the right hand, and another on the left.
Two robbers were
crucified with Him,
one on His right hand and the other on His left.
And
straightway one of them ran, and took a
spunge, and filled it with
vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
One of them quickly ran and brought a
sponge. He filled it with
sour wine, put it on a reed, and held it up for Jesus to drink.
Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and
Pharisees came together unto
Pilate,
The next day, the

Pharisees assembled before
Pilate.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”
And preached, saying, There cometh
one mightier than I after me, the
latchet of whose
shoes I am not worthy to
stoop down and unloose.
And he began to
proclaim: “After me will come
One more powerful than I, the straps of whose
sandals I am not worthy to
stoop down and
untie.
And they were
astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as
one that had authority, and not as the
scribes.
The people were
astonished at His teaching, because He taught as
one who had authority, and not as the
scribes.
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of
Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy
One of God.
“What do You want with us, Jesus of
Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy
One of God!”
And they were all
amazed,
insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
All the people were
amazed and began to ask
one another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!”
And they come unto him, bringing
one sick of the
palsy, which was borne of four.
Then a
paralytic was brought to Him, carried by four men.
No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.
No
one sews a
patch of
unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, and a worse
tear will result.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine
doth burst the bottles, and the wine is
spilled, and the bottles will be
marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.
And no
one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will
burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. Instead, new wine is poured into new wineskins.”
And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to
pluck the ears of corn.
One Sabbath Jesus was passing through the grainfields, and His disciples began to
pick the heads of grain as they walked along.
No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and
spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will
spoil his house.
Indeed, no
one can enter a strong man’s house to
steal his possessions unless he first
ties up the strong man. Then he can
plunder his house.
And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that
sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
Still other seed fell on good soil, where it
sprouted, grew up, and produced a crop—
one bearing thirtyfold, another sixtyfold, and another a
hundredfold.”
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
Overwhelmed with fear, they asked
one another, “Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
Because that he had been often bound with
fetters and chains, and the chains had been
plucked asunder by him, and the
fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man
tame him.
Though he was often bound with chains and
shackles, he had broken the chains and
shattered the
shackles. Now there was no
one with the strength to
subdue him.
And, behold, there cometh
one of the rulers of the
synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
A
synagogue leader named Jairus arrived, and seeing Jesus, he fell at His feet
And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
Then Jesus gave strict orders that no one should know about this, and He told them to give her something to eat.
Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
Others were saying, “He is
Elijah,” and still others, “He is a prophet, like
one of the prophets of old.”
And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them,
Hearken unto me every
one of you, and understand:
Once again Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “All of you,
listen to Me and understand:
And they bring unto him
one that was
deaf, and had an
impediment in his speech; and they
beseech him to put his hand upon him.
Some people brought to Him a man who was
deaf and hardly able to speak, and they
begged Jesus to place His hand on him.
Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than
one loaf.
Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, except for
one loaf they had with them in the boat.
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.
So they began to
discuss with
one another the fact that they had no bread.
And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say
Elijah; and still others,
one of the prophets.”
And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Peter said to Jesus, “
Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—
one for You,
one for Moses, and
one for
Elijah.”
And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
Suddenly, when they looked around, they saw no one with them except Jesus.
And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
So they kept this matter to themselves,
discussing what it meant to rise from the dead.
And
one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a
dumb spirit;
Someone in the crowd replied, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a spirit that makes him
mute.
And the spirit
cried, and rent him
sore, and came out of him: and he was as
one dead;
insomuch that many said, He is dead.
After
shrieking and
convulsing him violently, the spirit came out. The boy became like a
corpse, so that many said, “He is dead.”
Whosoever shall receive
one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and
whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
“
Whoever welcomes
one of these little children in My name welcomes Me, and
whoever welcomes Me welcomes not only Me, but the
One who sent Me.”
And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw
one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we
forbad him, because he followeth not us.
John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone else driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not
accompany us.”
But Jesus said,
Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a
miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
“Do not stop him,” Jesus replied. “For no
one who performs a
miracle in My name can turn around and speak evil of Me.
And
whosoever shall
offend one of these little
ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a
millstone were
hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
But if
anyone causes
one of these little
ones who believe in Me to
stumble, it would be better for him to have a large
millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea.
And if thine eye
offend thee,
pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with
one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into
hell fire:
And if your eye causes you to sin,
pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with
one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into
hell,
For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness,
wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in
yourselves, and have peace
one with another.
Salt is good, but if the salt loses its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt among
yourselves, and be at peace with
one another.”
And they
twain shall be
one flesh: so then they are no more
twain, but
one flesh.
and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
