I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
In my vision in the night I continued to watch, and I saw One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence.
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an
everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
And He was given dominion, glory, and
kingship, that the people of every nation and language should serve Him. His dominion is an
everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is
one that will never be destroyed.
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
I approached one of those who were standing there, and I asked him the true meaning of all this. So he told me the interpretation of these things:
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be
diverse from the first, and he shall
subdue three kings.
And the ten horns are ten kings who will rise from this kingdom. After them another king, different from the earlier
ones, will rise and
subdue three kings.
In the third year of the reign of king
Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
In the third year of the reign of King
Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, Daniel, subsequent to the
one that had appeared to me earlier.
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw a ram with two horns standing beside the canal. The horns were long, but one was longer than the other, and the longer one grew up later.
And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with
choler against him, and
smote the ram, and
brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
I saw him approach the ram in a
rage against him, and he struck the ram and
shattered his two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against him, and the goat threw him to the ground and
trampled him, and no
one could deliver the ram from his power.
Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
Thus the goat became very great, but at the height of his power, his large horn was broken off, and four prominent horns came up in its place, pointing toward the four winds of heaven.
And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
From
one of these horns a little horn
emerged and grew extensively toward the south and the east and toward the Beautiful Land.
Then I heard
one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the
transgression of
desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be
trodden under foot?
Then I heard a holy
one speaking, and another holy
one said to him, “How long until the
fulfillment of the vision of the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes
desolation, and the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host to be
trampled?”
And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there stood before me one having the appearance of a man.
Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.
The four horns that replaced the broken one represent four kingdoms that will rise from that nation, but will not have the same power.
And he shall
confirm the covenant with many for
one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the
oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it
desolate, even until the
consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the
desolate.
And he will
confirm a covenant with many for
one week, but in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of the temple will come the
abomination that causes
desolation, until the decreed destruction is poured out upon him.”
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia
withstood me
one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael,
one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
However, the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.
And, behold,
one like the
similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
And suddenly
one with the likeness of a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and said to the
one standing before me, “My lord, because of the vision, I am overcome with
anguish, and I have no strength.
Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
Again the one with the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me.
But I will
shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
But first I will tell you what is inscribed in the Book of Truth. Yet no one has the courage to support me against these, except Michael your prince.
And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
The king of the South will grow strong, but one of his commanders will grow even stronger and will rule his own kingdom with great authority.
And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that
begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
After some years they will form an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the South will go to the king of the North to seal the agreement. But his daughter will not retain her position of power, nor will his strength
endure. At that time she will be given up, along with her royal
escort and her father and the
one who supported her.
But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
But one from her family line will rise up in his place, come against the army of the king of the North, and enter his fortress, fighting and prevailing.
But his sons shall be
stirred up, and shall
assemble a multitude of great forces: and
one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be
stirred up, even to his fortress.
And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall
exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.
In those times many will rise up against the king of the South. Violent
ones among your own people will
exalt themselves in
fulfillment of the vision, but they will fail.
But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
The
invader will do as he pleases, and no
one will stand against him. He will establish himself in the Beautiful Land, with destruction in his hand.
He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
He will
resolve to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and will reach an agreement with the king of the South. He will give him a daughter in marriage in order to overthrow the kingdom, but his plan will not succeed or help him.
Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
In his place
one will arise who will send out a tax
collector for the glory of the kingdom; but within a few days he will be destroyed, though not in anger or in battle.
And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at
one table; but it shall not
prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
And the two kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will speak lies at the same table, but to no
avail, for still the end will come at the appointed time.
Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall
magnify himself above all.
He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers, nor for the
one desired by women, nor for any other god, because he will
magnify himself above them all.
And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
He will pitch his royal tents between the sea and the beautiful holy mountain, but he will meet his end with no one to help him.
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
“At that time Michael, the great prince who stands watch over your people, will rise up. There will be a time of distress, the likes of which will not have occurred from the beginning of nations until that time. But at that time your people—
everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
Then I, Daniel, looked and saw two others standing there, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.
And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
One of them said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long until the
fulfillment of these wonders?”
Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and
appoint themselves
one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of
Jezreel.
Then the people of Judah and of Israel will be gathered together, and they will
appoint for themselves
one leader, and will go up out of the land. For great will be the day of
Jezreel.
Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ru-
hamah.
“Say of your brothers, ‘My people,’ and of your sisters, ‘My loved one.’
And now will I discover her
lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.
And then I will
expose her
lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no
one will deliver her out of My hands.
Therefore shall the land
mourn, and every
one that dwelleth therein shall
languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven;
yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it will waste away with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea disappear.
For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will
tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall
rescue him.
For I am like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will
tear them to pieces and then go away. I will carry them off where no
one can
rescue them.
They are all hot as an
oven, and have
devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.
All of them are hot as an
oven, and they
devour their rulers. All their kings fall; not
one of them calls upon Me.
Though they bring up their children, yet will I
bereave them, that there shall not be a man left:
yea,
woe also to them when I depart from them!
Even if they raise their children, I will
bereave them of each
one.
Yes,
woe be to them when I turn away from them!
I will not
execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy
One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
I will not
execute the full
fury of My anger; I will not turn back to destroy Ephraim. For I am God and not man— the Holy
One among you— and I will not come in wrath.
Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with
deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
Ephraim surrounds Me with lies, the house of Israel with
deceit; but Judah still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy
One.
Samaria shall become
desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be
dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be
ripped up.
Samaria will bear her guilt because she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword; their little
ones will be
dashed to pieces, and their
pregnant women
ripped open.
They shall run like mighty men; they shall
climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every
one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
They charge like mighty men; they scale the walls like men of war. Each
one marches in formation, not
swerving from the course.
Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
They do not
jostle one another; each proceeds in his path. They
burst through the defenses, never breaking ranks.
Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather
yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty
ones to come down, O LORD.
Come quickly, all you surrounding nations, and gather
yourselves. Bring down Your mighty
ones, O LORD.
I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of
Aven, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from the house of
Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
I will break down the gates of Damascus; I will cut off the ruler of the Valley of
Aven and the
one who wields the
scepter in Beth-
eden. The people of
Aram will be exiled to Kir,” says the LORD.
And I will cut off the inhabitant from
Ashdod, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against
Ekron: and the
remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
I will cut off the ruler of
Ashdod and the
one who wields the
scepter in Ashkelon. I will turn My hand against
Ekron, and the
remnant of the Philistines will perish,” says the Lord GOD.
Can a bird fall in a
snare upon the earth, where no
gin is for him? shall
one take up a
snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
Does a bird land in a
snare where no
bait has been set? Does a
trap spring from the ground when it has nothing to catch?
And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD.
You will go out through broken walls, each
one straight
ahead of her, and you will be cast out toward Harmon,” declares the LORD.
And also I have
withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon
one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city:
one piece was rained upon, and the piece
whereupon it rained not
withered.
“I also
withheld the rain from you when the harvest was three months away. I sent rain on
one city but
withheld it from another.
One field received rain; another without rain
withered.
So two or three cities
wandered unto
one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
People
staggered from city to city for water to drink, but they were not satisfied; yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is
forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
“Fallen is Virgin Israel, never to rise again. She lies abandoned on her land, with no one to raise her up.”
For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
This is what the Lord GOD says: “The city that marches out a thousand strong will only see a hundred return, and the one that marches out a hundred strong will have but ten left in the house of Israel.”
Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and
devour it, and there be none to
quench it in
Bethel.
Seek the LORD and live, or He will
sweep like fire through the house of Joseph; it will
devour everything, with no
one at
Bethel to
extinguish it.
They
hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they
abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
There are those who
hate the
one who reproves in the gate and
despise him who speaks with
integrity.
Woe to them that are at ease in
Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
Woe to those at ease in
Zion and those secure on Mount Samaria, the distinguished
ones of the foremost nation, to whom the house of Israel comes.
And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
And if there are ten men left in one house, they too will die.
And a man’s uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.
And when the relative who is to burn the bodies picks them up to remove them from the house, he will call to
one inside, “Is
anyone else with you?” “None,” that person will answer. “Silence,” the relative will
retort, “for the name of the LORD must not be
invoked.”
Shall horses run upon the rock? will
one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into
hemlock:
“Do horses
gallop on the cliffs? Does
one plow the sea with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into
wormwood—
Shall not the land
tremble for this, and every
one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and
drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
Will not the land
quake for this, and all its dwellers
mourn? All of it will swell like the Nile; it will
surge and then
subside like the Nile in Egypt.
And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every
one of the mount of
Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
Then your mighty men, O Teman, will be
terrified, so that
everyone in the mountains of
Esau will be cut down in the slaughter.
In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away
captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou
wast as
one of them.
On the day you stood
aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gate and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were just like
one of them.
And they said every
one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon
Jonah.
“Come!” said the sailors to
one another. “Let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this
calamity that is upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on
Jonah.
But let man and beast be covered with
sackcloth, and cry
mightily unto God:
yea, let them turn every
one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
Furthermore, let both man and beast be covered with
sackcloth, and have
everyone call out earnestly to God. Let each
one turn from his evil ways and from the violence in his hands.
And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto
Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a
gracious God, and
merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
So he prayed to the LORD, saying, “O LORD, is this not what I said while I was still in my own country? This is why I was so quick to
flee toward
Tarshish. I knew that You are a
gracious and
compassionate God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion—
One who relents from sending
disaster.
In that day shall
one take up a parable against you, and
lament with a
doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly
spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
In that day they will take up a
proverb against you and
taunt you with this bitter
lamentation: ‘We are utterly ruined! He has changed the portion of my people. How He has removed it from me! He has
allotted our fields to traitors.’”
Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.
Therefore, you will have no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by lot.
The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate, and go out by it. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD as their leader.
Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people
err, that
bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
This is what the LORD says: “As for the prophets who lead My people
astray, who
proclaim peace while they
chew with their teeth, but declare war against
one who puts nothing in their mouths:
But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
And each man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, with no
one to
frighten him. For the mouth of the LORD of Hosts has spoken.
For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.
Though each of the peoples may walk in the name of his god, yet we will walk in the name of the LORD our God
forever and ever.
But thou,
Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from
everlasting.
But you,
Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come forth for Me
One to be ruler over Israel—
One whose origins are of old, from the days of
eternity.
And the
remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
Then the
remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which tramples and tears as it passes through, with no
one to
rescue them.
The LORD’S voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
The voice of the LORD calls out to the city (and it is sound wisdom to fear Your name): “
Heed the rod and the
One who ordained it.
Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the
vintage: there is no
cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they
hunt every man his brother with a net.
The godly man has perished from the earth; there is no
one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; they
hunt one another with a net.
There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good
tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
Look to the mountains— the feet of
one who brings good news, who proclaims peace!
Celebrate your feasts, O Judah;
fulfill your vows. For the wicked will never again march through you; they will be utterly cut off.
He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the
munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong,
fortify thy power
mightily.
The
chariots shall
rage in the streets, they shall
justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
But
Nineveh is of old like a
pool of water: yet they shall
flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
Nineveh has been like a
pool of water throughout her days, but now it is
draining away. “Stop! Stop!” they cry, but no
one turns back.
Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they
flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
Your guards are like the
swarming locust, and your
scribes like clouds of locusts that settle on the walls on a cold day. When the sun rises, they fly away, and no
one knows where.
Thy
shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
O king of Assyria, your
shepherds slumber; your officers sleep. Your people are scattered on the mountains with no
one to gather them.
Art thou not from
everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy
One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
Are You not from
everlasting, O LORD, my God, my Holy
One? We will not die. O LORD, You have appointed them to
execute judgment; O Rock, You have established them for correction.
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Look at the proud one; his soul is not upright— but the righteous will live by faith—
God came from Teman, and the Holy
One from mount
Paran.
Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
God came from Teman, and the Holy
One from Mount
Paran.
Selah His glory covered the heavens, and His praise filled the earth.
Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O
Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
Woe to the dwellers of the
seacoast, O nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you, O
Canaan, land of the Philistines: “I will destroy you, and no
one will be left.”
The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will
famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every
one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.
The LORD will be
terrifying to them when He starves all the gods of the earth. Then the nations of every shore will bow in worship to Him, each in its own place.
This is the
rejoicing city that dwelt
carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a
desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every
one that passeth by her shall hiss, and
wag his hand.
This carefree city that dwells securely, that thinks to herself: “I am it, and there is none besides me,” what a ruin she has become, a resting place for beasts.
Everyone who passes by her hisses and shakes his
fist.
I have cut off the nations: their towers are
desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
“I have cut off the nations; their corner towers are destroyed. I have made their streets deserted with no one to pass through. Their cities are laid waste, with no man, no inhabitant.
For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
For then I will restore pure lips to the peoples, that all may call upon the name of the LORD and serve Him shoulder to shoulder.
The
remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a
deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
The
remnant of Israel will no longer do wrong or speak lies, nor will a
deceitful tongue be found in their mouths. But they will feed and lie down, with no
one to make them
tremble.”
In the seventh month, in the
one and
twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet
Haggai, saying,
On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through
Haggai the prophet, saying:
If
one bear holy flesh in the
skirt of his garment, and with his
skirt do touch bread, or
pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
If a man carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread,
stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does that
item become holy?’” “No,” replied the priests.
Then said
Haggai, If
one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:
Now consider carefully from this day forward: Before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the LORD,
Since those days were, when
one came to an
heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when
one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
from that time, when

scatter it.”
