Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
There shall no evil
befall thee, neither shall any
plague come
nigh thy dwelling.
no evil will
befall you, no
plague will approach your tent.
Thus they
provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the
plague brake in upon them.
So they
provoked the LORD to anger with their deeds, and a
plague broke out among them.
Then stood up
Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the
plague was stayed.
And the LORD shall
smite Egypt: he shall
smite and
heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall
heal them.
And the LORD will strike Egypt with a
plague; He will strike them but
heal them. They will turn to the LORD, and He will hear their prayers and
heal them.
When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an
oblation, I will not accept them: but I will
consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the
pestilence.
Although they may fast, I will not
listen to their cry; although they may offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will finish them off by sword and famine and
plague.”
And I will make this city
desolate, and an
hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be
astonished and hiss because of all the
plagues thereof.
And I will
smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great
pestilence.
I will strike down the residents of this city, both man and beast. They will die in a terrible plague.’
And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver
Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the
pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall
smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not
spare them, neither have
pity, nor have mercy.
‘After that,’ declares the LORD, ‘I will hand over
Zedekiah king of Judah, his officers, and the people in this city who
survive the
plague and sword and famine, to
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and to their enemies who seek their lives. He will put them to the sword; he will not
spare them or show
pity or
compassion.’
He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the
pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that
besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.
Whoever stays in this city will die by sword and famine and
plague, but
whoever goes out and surrenders to the Chaldeans who
besiege you will live; he will retain his life like a
spoil of war.
And I will send the sword, the famine, and the
pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.
And I will send against them sword and famine and plague, until they have perished from the land that I gave to them and their fathers.’”
And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same
Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I
punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the
pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
As for the nation or kingdom that does not serve
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and does not place its neck under his yoke, I will
punish that nation by sword and famine and
plague, declares the LORD, until I have destroyed it by his hand.
Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
Why should you and your people die by sword and famine and plague, as the LORD has decreed against any nation that does not serve the king of Babylon?
The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old
prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of
pestilence.
The prophets of old who preceded you and me
prophesied war,
disaster, and
plague against many lands and great kingdoms.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the
pestilence, and will make them like
vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “I will send against them sword and famine and
plague, and I will make them like
rotten figs, so bad they cannot be eaten.
And I will
persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the
pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a
curse, and an
astonishment, and an
hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations
whither I have driven them:
I will pursue them with sword and famine and
plague. I will make them a
horror to all the kingdoms of the earth—a
curse, a
desolation, and an object of
scorn and reproach among all the nations to which I
banish them.
Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the
pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
See how the siege ramps are mounted against the city to capture it. And by sword and famine and plague, the city has been given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What You have spoken has happened, as You now see!
And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city,
whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the
pestilence;
Now therefore, about this city of which you say, ‘It will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword and famine and plague,’ this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says:
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not
hearkened unto me, in
proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I
proclaim a liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword, to the
pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: You have not obeyed Me; you have not proclaimed freedom, each man for his brother and for his
neighbor. So now I
proclaim freedom for you, declares the LORD—freedom to fall by sword, by
plague, and by famine! I will make you a
horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.
“This is what the LORD says:
Whoever stays in this city will die by sword and famine and
plague, but
whoever surrenders to the Chaldeans will live; he will retain his life like a
spoil of war, and he will live.
So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to
sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.
So all who
resolve to go to Egypt to reside there will die by sword and famine and
plague. Not one of them will
survive or escape the
disaster I will bring upon them.’
Now therefore know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence, in the place
whither ye desire to go and to
sojourn.
Now therefore, know for sure that by sword and famine and plague you will die in the place where you desire to go to reside.”
For I will
punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence:
I will
punish those who live in the land of Egypt, just as I punished Jerusalem, by sword and famine and
plague,
Also
Edom shall be a
desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be
astonished, and shall hiss at all the
plagues thereof.
Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly
desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be
astonished, and hiss at all her
plagues.
Because of the wrath of the LORD, she will not be inhabited; she will become completely
desolate. All who pass through Babylon will be
horrified and will hiss at all her wounds.
A third part of thee shall die with the
pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee and I will
scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
A third of your people will die by
plague or be consumed by famine within you, a third will fall by the sword outside your walls, and a third I will
scatter to every wind and
unleash a sword behind them.
So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall
bereave thee; and
pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.
I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will leave you childless.
Plague and
bloodshed will
sweep through you, and I will bring a sword against you. I, the LORD, have spoken.”
Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say,
Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence.
This is what the Lord GOD says:
Clap your hands,
stomp your feet, and cry out “
Alas!” because of all the wicked abominations of the house of Israel, who will fall by sword and famine and
plague.
He that is far off shall die of the
pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I
accomplish my
fury upon them.
He who is far off will die by the
plague, he who is near will fall by the sword, and he who remains will die by famine. So I will
vent My
fury upon them.
The sword is without, and the
pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and
pestilence shall
devour him.
The sword is outside;
plague and famine are within. Those in the country will die by the sword, and those in the city will be
devoured by famine and
plague.
But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the
pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen
whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
But I will
spare a few of them from sword and famine and
plague, so that in the nations to which they go, they can recount all their abominations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
Or if I send a
pestilence into that land, and pour out my
fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
Or if I send a
plague into that land and pour out My wrath upon it through
bloodshed, cutting off from it both man and beast,
For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four
sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the
noisome beast, and the
pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem My four
dire judgments—sword, famine, wild beasts, and
plague—in order to cut off from it both man and beast?
For I will send into her
pestilence, and blood into her street; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
I will send a plague against her and shed blood in her streets; the slain will fall within her, while the sword is against her on every side. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be
devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the
pestilence.
Tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘As surely as I live, those in the ruins will fall by the sword, those in the open field I will give to be
devoured by wild animals, and those in the strongholds and caves will die by
plague.
And I will
plead against him with
pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and
brimstone.
I will
execute judgment upon him with
plague and
bloodshed. I will pour out torrents of rain, hailstones, fire, and sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.
I will
ransom them from the power of the grave; I will
redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy
plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction:
repentance shall be
hid from mine eyes.
I have sent among you the
pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the
stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I sent
plagues among you like those of Egypt; I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured horses. I filled your nostrils with the
stench of your camp, yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
Before him went the
pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.
Plague went before Him, and fever followed in His steps.
And this shall be the
plague wherewith the LORD will
smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall
consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall
consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall
consume away in their mouth.
And this will be the
plague with which the LORD strikes all the peoples who have
warred against Jerusalem: Their flesh will
rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will
rot in their sockets, and their tongues will
rot in their mouths.
And so shall be the
plague of the horse, of the
mule, of the
camel, and of the
ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this
plague.
And a similar
plague will strike the horses and mules, camels and
donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the
plague,
wherewith the LORD will
smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
And if the people of Egypt will not go up and enter in, then the rain will not fall on them; this will be the
plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not go up to
celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
For he had
healed many;
insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had
plagues.
For He had
healed so many that all who had diseases were pressing forward to touch Him.
And
straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was
healed of that
plague.
And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
“Daughter,” said Jesus, “your faith has
healed you. Go in peace and be free of your
affliction.”
And in that same hour he cured many of their
infirmities and
plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
At that very hour Jesus
healed many people of their diseases, afflictions, and evil spirits, and He gave sight to many who were blind.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and
Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Then I looked and saw a pale green horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed close behind. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill by sword, by famine, by plague, and by the beasts of the earth.
By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the
brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke, and sulfur that proceeded from their mouths.
And the rest of the men which were not killed by these
plagues yet
repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
Now the rest of mankind who were not killed by these
plagues still did not
repent of the works of their hands. They did not stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk.
These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to
smite the earth with all
plagues, as often as they will.
These witnesses have power to shut the sky so that no rain will fall during the days of their prophecy, and power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they wish.
And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
Then I saw another great and
marvelous sign in heaven: seven angels with the seven final
plagues, with which the wrath of God is completed.
And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven
plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts
girded with golden girdles.
And out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven
plagues, dressed in clean and bright linen and
girded with golden sashes around their chests.
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.
And men were
scorched with great heat, and
blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these
plagues: and they
repented not to give him glory.
And the people were
scorched by intense heat, and they
cursed the name of God, who had authority over these
plagues; yet they did not
repent and give Him glory.
And there fell upon men a great
hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men
blasphemed God because of the
plague of the
hail; for the
plague thereof was exceeding great.
And great hailstones weighing almost a hundred pounds each rained down on them from above. And men
cursed God for the
plague of
hail, because it was so
horrendous.
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues.
Therefore shall her
plagues come in one day, death, and
mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
Therefore her plagues will come in one day— death and grief and famine— and she will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last
plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come
hither, I will
shew thee the
bride, the Lamb’s wife.
Then one of the seven angels with the seven
bowls full of the seven final
plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the
bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
For I
testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the
plagues that are written in this book:
I
testify to
everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If
anyone adds to them, God will add to him the
plagues described in this book.
Behold, saith the Lord, I will bring plagues upon the world; the sword, famine, death, and destruction.
But I will bring them with a mighty hand and a stretched out arm, and
smite Egypt with
plagues, as before, and will destroy all the land thereof.
Egypt shall
mourn, and the foundation of it shall be
smitten with the
plague and punishment that God shall bring upon it.
For now are the
plagues come upon the whole earth and ye shall remain in them: for God shall not deliver you, because ye have
sinned against him.
I will send
plagues upon thee;
widowhood, poverty, famine, sword, and
pestilence, to waste thy houses with destruction and death.
Thou as unhappy shalt come through the sea, and receive plagues again.
Plagues are sent unto you, and what is he that may drive them away?
The mighty Lord sendeth the plagues and who is he that can drive them away?
Behold, the plagues are sent, and shall not return again, until they come upon the earth.
Like as an
arrow which is shot of a mighty archer returneth not backward: even so the
plagues that shall be sent upon earth shall not return again.
Behold, the
plagues draw
nigh, and are not
slack.
Even so shall not the
plagues be
slack to come upon the earth, and the world shall
mourn, and sorrows shall come upon it on every side.
Then they
cried unto their God, and he
smote all the land of Egypt with incurable
plagues: so the Egyptians cast them out of their sight.
Moreover this was not enough for them, that they
erred in the knowledge of God; but whereas they lived in the great war of ignorance, those so great
plagues called they peace.
A man that useth much
swearing shall be filled with iniquity, and the
plague shall never depart from his house: if he shall
offend, his sin shall be upon him: and if he acknowledge not his sin, he maketh a double offence: and if he
swear in vain, he shall not be innocent, but his house shall be full of
calamities.
Give me any plague, but the plague of the heart: and any wickedness, but the wickedness of a woman:
To bring upon us great plagues, such as never happened under the whole heaven, as it came to pass in Jerusalem, according to the things that were written in the law of Moses;
For all these plagues are come upon us, which the Lord hath pronounced against us
O Lord
Almighty, thou God of Israel, hear now the prayers of the dead Israelites, and of their children, which have
sinned before thee, and not
hearkened unto the voice of thee their God: for the which cause these
plagues cleave unto us.
For he that brought these plagues upon you will deliver you from the hands of your enemies.
For he that hath brought these
plagues upon you shall bring you
everlasting joy with your salvation.
For when there cometh any war or
plague upon them, the priests
consult with themselves, where they may be hidden with them.
How then cannot men perceive that they be no gods, which can neither save themselves from war, nor from plague?
Nevertheless, when he saw that the money of his treasures failed and that the tributes in the country were small, because of the
dissension and
plague, which he had brought upon the land in taking away the laws which had been of old time;
And as he began to pull down, even at that time was Alcimus
plagued, and his enterprizes hindered: for his mouth was stopped, and he was taken with a
palsy, so that he could no more speak any thing, nor give order concerning his house.
But I, as my brethren, offer up my body and life for the laws of our fathers,
beseeching God that he would speedily be
merciful unto our nation; and that thou by torments and
plagues mayest
confess, that he alone is God;
But the Lord
Almighty, the God of Isreal,
smote him with an incurable and invisible
plague: or as soon as he had spoken these words, a pain of the
bowels that was
remediless came upon him, and
sore torments of the inner parts;
Here therefore, being
plagued, he began to leave off his great pride, and to come to the knowledge of himself by the
scourge of God, his pain increasing every moment.
